Hi, I moved house recently and had to set everything up from scratch again.  Everything is now working fine apart from the fact that I cannot for the life of me get Alexa to play anything from BBC Sounds on my sonos speakers. I’m using 2 Play 1’s and a Soundbar with two Echo Dots. For the purposes of this particular problem I’m talking about my kitchen Exho Dot and my Kitchen Sonos Play 1.I can play from Spotify to sonos using alexa commands ‘Alexa play Madonna on Kitchen’. No problem, Madonna plays on my kitchen sonos. I can play BBC Sounds content via the sonos app.  I can play other services fine eg ‘Alexa play Absolute radio on kitchen’. Or‘Alexa play from Audible on kitchen’.No problem with any of this. But I cannot get alexa to pass a BBC Sounds command through to sonos. Command: ‘alexa, ask BBC Sounds to play radio 4 on kitchen’ Response: ‘playing the kitchen cabinet from 27th of august 2022’. (This then plays a bbc radio programme called ‘the kitchen cabinet’ on the echo dot in

I just got my Sonos Arc today and I’m loving it!I was just wondering if my Arc is too far from my TV (20 inches from bottom of TV) as Sonos recommends Atleast 4-6. If so, do you guys recommend wall mounting the Arc? Am I loosing any sound immersiveness? Currently the Arc is sitting below my sitting position so if I wall mount my Arc will it noticeably sound better. For reference my ceiling is 9ft and I'm sitting around 6.5ft away from the ArcAlso should the Arc be placed on the tip of the console like the pic attached or I can push it backward as it will look neater. My main use is for watching movies and TV shows so I would appreciate any setup improvement.

Hi, I’ve got a Beam Gen 2, sub mini & 2 One SL’s as surrounds. They’re working & sounding great. But on the S2 app under the Surround Audio setting page, the Surround Distance categories are not activated and no adjustments can be made. Have I done something wrong in the setup or has this category not activated for some reason.thanks, Mike.

Can 2 Roams be used as rear/surrounds with a Beam?

Hi! I have a ZP120 amp connected to two bookshelf speakers that I use for music playing. Is there a way to connect my TV to it? Keep in mind these ZP120’s do not have the HDMI ARC connections that the new Amps  have. It only has an analog Line-In input and two ethernet ports. If it IS possible, my next question is about how it works: I don’t want to have to open the sonos app and select anything when I use the TV--I just want to turn the TV on and have the sound come out of the speakers… Thx!

What does Sonos normally offer or do to it's customers if there outside the warranty period for S2 devices that are defective? Do they normally provide a discount on new purchases and if so, what kind of discount? Or would they maybe see about a full unit replacement if it gets escalated to a manager?

Hi I have a weird issue. For years I have been able to turn on/off my LG TV through voice command using google assistant on my Sonos One. Suddenly this has stopped working, and the google assistant in Sonos says “Sorry unknown error has occured on [name of my chromecast]” (this error might not be precise, I have translated it from my native language).I am able to for example pause/unpause the chromecast using voice command. If if say the exact same turn on/off command using the Assistant app on my phone the TV turns on/off.I have tried unlinking/removing my assistant both in Google Home app, and in the Sonos. Linked it again, and went through the setup process, but the same error occurs. I have also tried renaming my Chromecast (found that advice in a similar thread), but same result. Both my Sonos One and Chromecast has newest firmware. If i go to https://myactivity.google.com/ I can't even see any of my Sonos one commands.

I have a projector Optoma projector with HDMI and HDMI MHL outputs for image and sound. Talking with the Sonos Commercial area, the didn’t recommend me to buy the Beam (Gen 2) because if I don’t have a device (TV or Projector) with ARC output, I can have problems with the synchronisation of the sound and the image. ¿is there any solution? ¿is this a real problem, or the appreciation would be minimal?. Thank you. Regards, Enrique inputs and outputs Optoma

I have surround system with Arc + 2x One SL. I have already Trueplay-tuned that system with my Iphone 14 Pro Max, which has iOS 16.0.2. Now I have recently added also Sub Mini to that system without any problems, but when I try to Trueplay-tune the whole system, I get error message that Iphone is not supported ??? Any idea, what could be the problem and silution ?

Hey everyone, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to all things sound. Love my Sonos system and just got the mini sub for my Beam + One setup. I’m struggling to figure out where to place it in the room. The best spot space wise is on my entertainment unit behind the TV.I know it’s not perfect, but how much bass quality am I losing with that placement? Thanks!

I recently updated to apple iOS 16, and ever since then my Spotify app will ONLY connect to my Sonos speaker if I use AirPlay. Before it allowed me to connect by selecting device. This worked way better for me as I could play music in my daughter’s room while being able to hear audio on my phone (on IG, or YouTube) without interrupting her music. But now since I’m forced to use airplay I can only play music or my YouTube audio will push to her speaker. anyone else seeing this issue? Any fixes? We tried updating the Sonos software but it keeps saying “error code - 800”

I’ve just set up my Arc, One SL speakers and sub.I’ve got the volume on the Arc working with my virgin controller, but the TV standby button is no longer working. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks

Hey Sonos Users!I love my Sonos speakersThe sound is greatI was very excited to set up the new Ray product to my Sony TVBut after 3 hours (including 1 hour with the VERY NICE Sonos help gentleman) I was left with “you need to call Sony”Anybody else having trouble getting their Ray to connect to their TV Super frustrated Sonos fan,John

I have a Beam (gen 2) sub mini and 2 One SL's acting as rear surrounds. i had to power off one of the one SL's and when i powered it back on it appeared in a new room (living room 2) not paired to the other One SL. Has anyone else seen this ? or knows why it has happened ? In order to get everything back to normal i had to remove the "surround pair" from “living room” and then remove each One SL from the room it was in. then readd a "new" pair of surrounds and go through the setup process again.  i'm concerned this is going to happen every time i turn off a speaker or if there's a power cut.

Hi all,I have Playbar and just purchased a sub mini to pair with it.  System is using SonosNET.I successfully connected the sub to the network, updated the software and paired it with the playbar.  Unfortunately very shortly thereafter, the sub seems to have dropped from the network.  In the system setting section it shows as Playbar (+?) rather than Playbar (+sub).  If I restart the sub, it seems to connect briefly but as soon as I try playing sound from the TV, it drops again.I have tried 3 factory resets and moving the sub to different locations with similar results.  In one case, I was able to get music to play from Spotify through the Playbar which engaged the sub briefly but it eventually dropped again.Any suggestions?thanks in advance,Kevin

It says “Sorry, we can’t connect to Sonos.  Let’s try some things: ...” It was working fine on this PC untill I switched from the ATT Wifi to an Orbi wifi.  Like I said in the title, our phones still work fine, and they’re on the same wifi as the PC.  All my speakers appear fine for the phone S1 app. I tried resetting the PC S1 app -- no difference.  It searches for about a minute, and says it’s connected, but then after I click OK, it says “Sorry, we can’t connect to Sonos.  Let’s try some things: ...” PC Wifi is is set up as a Private Network and is not set up as a Mobile Hotspot (no Internet connection sharing). Setting it to a Public Network did not help. I tried putting a cat 6 from the PC to my Sonos Boost, and the Internet still works from the PC, but no change to the S1 app on the PC failing to connect to my Sonos system. Diagnostic report: 1543599904

Received my Sonos mini sub. Set it up, power light is on, no difference to the music? Anyone with any ideas.  NICK

Hi, I have just installed Sonos five through wifi and other music services seem to work, but I cannot add Spotify. I can’t even find the service in the sonos app. How come? Spotify is available in Finland.I find my Sonos in the spotify app but I cannot connect to it. Please help! :)

Intermittent, very brief cut out of sound from Samsung TV through Playbar. Happens on all TV sources - cable box, android box, streaming services. Optical cable connection. Does not occur while playing music.

After running Trueplay on a stereo system with a Sub or Sub Mini the amount of bass decreases and noticed that it's not as heavy feeling/sounding even after adjusting the Sub Audio.I know there is nothing wrong with my system, but I do feel like Trueplay does dampen the bass the Subs output. Is this normal behavior and do I need to adjust the bass level in the EQ along with the Sub Aduio settings?

I currently have following setup:Playbase, Sub, 2x Play 3 for movie and music. All speakers combined to a surround set.I want to change the old play 3 with new 2 x Sonos Five for better sound for music. And I want to use these speaker as well as surround speakers in the rear of the room. That means all Speakers (Playbase, Sub and Sonos Five as Sourround Set.The Sonos Five can play Ultra HD streamed from Amazon.Does I will have also this quality when I use the Speaker together with the other speakers? Or need I separat the Sonos Five from the other to get the full resolution.

sorry for my poor english since end of september, tracks i have listened from youtube music on Sonos doesn’t appear in my Youtube history on other apparels ( PC or phone)any idea?KR

I upgraded to a new TV that supports Dolby Atmos, eArc, etc. I often stream content through an Apple TV 4K which does a better job than the TV’s native apps or any of the Firestick products.Currently the set up is Playbar, Sub (gen 2) and two Play:1 surrounds. I ordered a Beam Gen 2 to replace the Playbar to take advantage of Atmos content. (Sorry, Arc, but your price and mounting system made you impractical for my setup.) Question 1: Playing music via my Apple TV seems to be the only way to get Atmos/Spatial music into the system. I’m fine with that for the moment. Right now when playing TV content it automatically goes to speech enhancement mode, something I absolutely want when watch video content. So this comes on automatically when playing music via Apple TV. Does this impact music audio and how? Will I have to remember to turn speech enhancement on and off manually to take best advantage? Question 2: Since I still love my Playbar, I’m thinking of putting it in a large room (no TV

Our old computer system (iMac G5 2014) was hosting our music library which was running two Sonos Play 5 (get 1) speakers without issues. Each speaker had a unique name, and I was able (via the controller) to turn each speaker on and off individually. That computer died a few months ago. I went to hook up this same system to a different mac (Mac Mini 2017 vintage), and after a few tries got the system working, but with only one of the two speakers. When I open the controller interface (I updated the software upon moving the system to the new computer), the option of adding/selecting each individual speaker no longer exists. Instead, the only addressable option is a group name I had given the two speakers. So, how do I reconnect the second speaker into the system?
