The search results returned within the Android app should behave as they do in the desktop app and return ‘Album Artist’ within the Artists results for compilations...Any compilation albums have the ‘Album Artist’ value effectivly excluded from Artist search results in the App. This is new behaviour for the app since the ‘May 2024’ release. Prior to this behaviour was correct. It remains correct in the Desktop app.Details: On searching for ‘Various’/’Various Artists’ the Windows desktop application it, correctly, does what it always has done and returns ‘Varions Artists’ in the ‘Artists’ search results: However, when the same search is performed from the Android app there are no results under ‘Artists’: All other results (Albums/Songs/Composers ect.) are consistent & correct across both Android and Winsows apps.Albums are correctly tagged:Capitalisation, varying index grouping between album artist/compilation/both options or removing the ‘Compilation’ tag has no impact on the beha
Hello, hopefully someone at SONOS sees this. As it’s impossible to use the iphone physical buttons for volume control (I can understand the problem with this) Sonos are recommending e.g. using the physical buttons on ROAM. However these sound effects are very off putting. Please can you offer the option to disable sound effects on this?Thank you
I would like to make a feature request:When an attempt to add an album or track(s) to a Sonos Playlist that already contains that content give a warning as such. Give the option to add again or not add.
Hi people I have received email form community@sonos.com that I got private message form One of Administrators its that I have received prize : apple air iPad he never replied to my query though that’s why Iam here . is this spam ? Anyone had this kind of experience with Sonos? they want my details and 13$ shipping costs thanks for any help
I just received a message from a new account with no posts, Administrator_Jason, offering a free iPad. The message contains a link that looks like it is from Sonos.com but it is to presentnow.com. This has all the red flags of a scam. Just a warning to be careful about what you click on, even here. Mark
Hi, I keep getting private messages from a scammers called Administrator Hollis, offering ipads, can someone delete him, Plus how did my userid get outside the community? Can someone delete him? Thanks
Received an e-mail purportedly from an ‘administrator’ stating I had won an iPad 11” tablet. To claim the offer some personal details are requested, plus a shipment payment. Clearly I did not proceed with this action.I would like to report this ‘person’ as records show he join date of today and zero history of previous activity.
Did anyone else get a fish “private message” from StarryJourney?
Is this correct? I was just looking at my account to see what upgrade reductions I could get and then followed the sonos link to the shop (whilst still logged in to my account) and all the prices were in dollars not pounds.
In the FWIW department, I wanted an easy way to spin up all my music to all speakers in my house as well as be able to quickly adjust volume, skip & pause. So if anyone is interested, here’s the initial version of my little app. MIT open source in C#. Suggestions welcome.HotSonos on GitHubBTW, I mapped my controls to the keypad which I never use - add/subtract for volume, multiply for pay and divide for restart.Moderator Edit: Link removed
It is time for Sonos to enter the sports arena in a big way. I offered a concept to Sonos a few weeks back about adding the function of an intercom/two-way communication system within the Sonos offerings; they responded with interest, excited interest. So here I am again, only this time we want to hit a walk-off home run for the entire Sonos family. I’m an inventor myself, so I love to think out of the box, and Sonos suggested I start here, involving everyone so we can cover this concept from all positions. My grandson plays baseball like many of our family members do. They added this thing, when the player approaches the plate: They call out their name and play a short theme song...super cool stuff. They use a suitcase size roll around speaker (Bluetooth), connected to a device that they can select the appropriate audio files, etc.Sonos...can anyone hear me on this?!Sonos designs a speaker, that snaps into this mobile device; this way when you are home, you can use the speaker elsewher
Old Sonos user, been through multiple generations of product.I thought Sonos went to hell when they rolled out their new app (and, they did...), but thankfully there are some third party apps out there that actually work, even if it’s a bit rude to have to pay a monthly subscription just to have a decent app for the speakers I already paid for.But today I needed to update the wifi settings on my system - new router, new SSID. I have updated about 40 IoT devices in about 2 hours. Why the hell did Sonos take an hour to update a small handful of speakers, and even then, I have to factory reset half my system.Absolute trash. Will never buy another Sonos product or recommend to anyone ever again.
As I understand it, once OSX no longer supports Intel apps, there will be no desktop app for Mac. The desktop app has persistent access to the queue regardless of what content is currently being played. The mobile app and the web player only have access to the queue if one is playing tracks from your music library. In the case of the mobile app, the queue icon isn’t even present. In the case of the web player, the icon is present but is greyed out/non-functional. I recognize that playing a local music library is probably only done by a minority of Sonos users but that community is not exactly zero either so if the desktop app is going to be discontinued, it would behoove Sonos to provide similar capabilities in one way or another. Given that the queue icon isn’t even presented in the mobile app, perhaps the simplest thing to do would be to fix it in the web player.Further, the desktop app allowed one to select multiple tracks for deletion from the queue with a single action. This might sound like a strange question, but I realized the other day that I almost never just sit and listen to music anymore. Most of the time my Sonos speakers are playing while I'm working, cooking, or cleaning. I can't remember the last time I put on an album, sat on the couch, and listened without doing anything else.Has anyone else noticed this? Or do you still make time for dedicated listening sessions? If you do, I'd love to know what kind of music pulls you in enough to put your phone down for an hour.
This is something I didn't expect. Before I upgraded my setup, I mostly listened to playlists in the background. Since getting my Sonos speakers, I've started going back to albums I hadn't listened to in years, and I'm noticing little details that I completely missed before. It's even changed the kind of music I put on. Some songs that never stood out with earbuds suddenly sound amazing through decent speakers.
I have not used internet radio stations that much. Recently though I have found some great radio stations. So I’ve added several to the Sonos Favorites-Stations list. I see there is an Edit option to be able to remove stations you no longer want. It would be nice to also have the lines that allow you to change the order of the stations. Does anyone in this community see any value in this idea?
I’ve had this problem for a while and it got fixed yesterday by a Sonos support rep. “Unable to add the music folder”, “Error 913”, “music files not available”, “username or password incorrect”, I’ve had them all and tried every solution I could find in the articles - multiple times. The short version of the fix that worked was that the support rep made a new folder on the Mac under “users” and copied all my music to it. Then he went to Sonos/ Manage Library Settings, clicked +, selected “Networked Folder and made the path “/users/”the new folder name” and it worked. I was stunned as I had no expectation this would solve the problem. I fully expect a new version or something will break this again in the future but for now I can play all the music on my hard drive in iTunes/Apple Music. Hope this helps somebody out there.
Well, it’s time for my yearly complaint about the “State of the Sonos”, but we are simply done this time around. Through all the problems over the last few years, our Sonos Arc and home theater have been fairly stable. Keep in mind that we no longer use the Fives and Ones that are spread throughout our home. They never work when summoned and we lost the drive to spend an hour troubleshooting them each time we wanted music. Those speakers have been collecting dust for at least two years. Yesterday, I turned on the TV and the Arc was not putting out sound. I have no idea what updated (TV/Sonos/whatever). I reset and rebuilt the TV. No change (one hour). I reset and rebuilt the Arc/sub/Ones (1.5 hours)...then everything worked again. Fine. This morning the Arc turns on with frequent audio dropouts. I check and there is another Sonos update available. I install it. The speakers work. Except….the surrounds “need attention” in the app. We are finished. I’ve unplugged the Arc from the TV and
Well, I bought into this SONOS system and it used to work awesome. Now, it’s crap. Now I have all of these components and they're all as good as paperweights now. I cannot get this BS system to work anymore for anything. I have submitted diagnostics, well when the system will allow me to anyways, most the times I cannot even submit diagnostics because I can't connect to it or it just simply won’t let me. I'm so frustrated with this system. I have speakers in every room of my house and I sure wish I could control them. My speakers drop off, one room will play one thing while the rest of the house is on something else or just gone. I've spent time with the techs on the phone. I've had to go to every single piece of equipment and unplug it and plug it back in. I just want to listen to music in my house but I guess I put all my money into the wrong system. Anyone have a better system they are using now cause I'm ready to throw thousands of dollars away to get music in my house. S
Just had this message coming up and playback stops and then starts again with the next track …fault traced to mice damage having partially bitten through Ethernet cable between Sonos Boost and Linksys router. Removed cable so just using WiFi and problem solved.
HelloI just want to share a positive experience I recently had with Sonos Customer Support. In doing so I’m not trying to set expectations as each case has its own set of variables that have to be evaluated before a decision is made.Recently, one of my Roam 2’s purchased in July of 2024 failed. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. Per instructions shown here I contacted Sonos Support and provided the required information (email address and serial number of the unit). I explained that the LED Battery Light at the base of the Roam 2 was flashing red. After trying all options to revive the Roam 2 it was determined that the speaker was defective. The Customer Service Representative informed me that unit was out of warranty. However, she volunteered to submit a request for a warranty extension. No expectations were set except to say that a decision would be forthcoming within 24 hours. I was given a case number and advised to call the next day.Upon calling I was informed that the warra
Has anyone had any bad expereince with refurbished items long term? I am thinking about buying a refurbished one but kind of worried about spending a lot of money on something that is potentially problematic or may become one after warranty is done. I know Sonos say that they have been tested extensively but wanted to see if someone had any bad experience or has it been generally positive across.
Just an FYI…Using the terms Immersive and Sound Stage to describe what you want in music in the same sentence is technically not a thing. Take a look at the differences as described below.
When using Apple Music service from the Sonos App, if crossfade its on, between the songs the volume increases very fast to like 100% for half a second. So for me Crossfade its unusable. Also I would love if the sonos app could have more features for the Apple Music service or if music could be played high quality from within the Apple Music app like in Spotify but I think thats on Apple’s behalf.
