Back in February I posted here and committed to being more present and more transparent about where we're headed. Time for an update. We’ve been working through a long list of improvements, and we're now in the final stretch of getting them ready. I know it’s been a decent interval of quiet on my end. Thanks for your patience. We've been reading the posts. What I wanted from this work was simple: a series of enhancements that make Sonos easier to learn and easier to use. The team has spent hundreds of hours over the past year watching real customers use the Sonos app, longtime owners and brand new ones alike. We've learned a lot about what hangs people up, what's confusing when you're new to the system, and what slows you down when you're just trying to change the darn volume. What kept showing up was this: a lot of friction came from proprietary patterns we built that made the app harder to learn and use than it needed to be. Stacks on stacks on stacks of content cards. Swipe-up gestures
Hey everyone! 👋🏼Today Sonos announced a partnership with Škoda, one of Europe's most respected automakers, as the audio partner for their upcoming flagship electric vehicle, the PEAQ. Our team architected the in-cabin listening experience from the ground up: how music, voice and entertainment sound and move throughout the cabin. It's the most advanced in-cabin system we've built in automotive to date and we’re proud of what came together.Let me give you context on why this makes sense. 🔍Sonos was built around one idea, that sound should move effortlessly through the home. Everything we make is designed to show up across rooms, across the moments that fill your day, in a way that feels natural rather than something you have to think about. But listening doesn't stop at the front door. For a lot of people, especially in EVs where cabin noise is so low, the car has become one of the most intentional listening environments in their day. Taking what we've built around the home system an
@Tom Conrad This is feedback, not good or bad, right or wrong; just my opinion. First I’ll date myself, was excited to think about replacing some of my oldest speakers, Play 1’s or One SLsSpent about 20-30 minutes trying to get the discount the work. Never thought based on the EMAIL received that the T&C’s would limit the devices when my only upgrade path was to go to ERA 100’s. T&Cs should be for things like timing. If you are going to limit eligible speakers then mention that. Sonos wasted my time I can’t even get the 15% right now. Be transparent in your sales please. You've got a 30% off credit Ready to upgrade your setup? Now's your chance. For a limited time, your 15% off credit is now worth double. Your discount will apply automatically at checkout.

Hello all.Have been a Sonos user for well over a decade. We have several Ones, Threes, Fives, Beams, Subs and Amps, and a brand new Roamer. Still amazed at the ease of connection. I know there’s lots of bad reviews out there, but we’ve focused on connecting the devices by ethernet - not wifi unless absolutely impossible. So now we have the Roamer and and an Amp connected by wifi, and all else is copper connected. And oddly enough, using the microwave in the kitchen still causes the Amp to loose connection. Old microwave, brand new microwave - no difference. But we live with that cause the rest of the system is so robust.Anyway, I didn’t sit down to talk about that. What I wanted to talk about was Sonos useless Android and PC control apps. Honestly, I think the engineers at Sonos want us to only listen to Spotify…. NOT!!! These apps make it impossible to browse our NAS based library (>10k tracks). But there is hope. I’ve found an excellent media management app called Medi
Hi, I've been working on a hardware side project for a while and wanted to share a demo. It's a small LED matrix that connects to your Sonos system over your local network. No cloud, no subscription — just a little screen that shows what's playing. I started prototyping on an 8×32 display (first video) but it was too cramped — lyrics could only show one word at a time. I've since moved to an 8×64 (second video), which fits much more and works a lot better for scrolling text and synced lyrics.https://youtube.com/shorts/OWAewh32Qm0?feature=sharehttps://youtube.com/shorts/3akczoITjes?feature=shareBeyond what's in the videos, it also does synchronized lyrics, Last.fm scrobbling, a web dashboard that mirrors the display, and BPM-synced animations.Curious what you all think — if you had a little display like this next to your speaker, what would actually matter to you? The now-playing info? Physical controls like skip and volume? The size of the screen? Something else entirely? I'm still figu
I’m looking to move a large iTunes library onto a portable external hard drive. Western Digital, Seagate, and LaCie all have comparably priced 2-3TB devices. Wondering if anyone in the community has recently purchased one of these devices and transferred a library? If so, which one and did you encounter any difficulties?
For my serious music listening I prefer my Sonos Fives in stereo pair with Sub 3. My primary genre is smooth jazz. However, as I own an Arc Ultra with Era 300’s & Sub 4 x 2 and a stereo pair of Era 300’s with Sub 3; I’ve been curious about Dolby Atmos for music. I‘ve streamed various Dolby Atmos tracks to both setups and frankly have not been overwhelmingly impressed. That said I will give the edge to the Arc Ultra setup. One thing I’ve learned (at least to my ear) is that Dolby Atmos for music sounds best when the mix is more “eclectic” rather than straight forward. Understand...I’m not a sound engineer so “eclectic” was the best term I could think of to convey my thoughts. One artist that came to mind that I felt embodied “eclectic” mixes in their music was Prince. One song; in particular, that I think showcases his “eclectic” style of mixing is “When Doves Cry” from the album Purple Rain. The overlays of vocals and instruments IMO is the perfect song for a Dolby Atmos mix.So, I str
I decided to leave the Beta program. I took the relevant steps and got an email saying I had been removed from the program.I factory reset all my devices. I deleted the Beta Apps from my iPad, iPhone and iMac. I installed the regular Apps on my iPad, iPhone and iMac.I managed to connect my new Sonos Era 100 and everything worked fine. BUT THEN, I tried to add the other devices, and a message popped up saying I needed to update the (non-Beta) app. I clicked on it but it wanted to instal the Beta App again!!. This was before I removed Test Flight.I went to Test Flight and removed the Sonos Beta App. I then deleted test Flight altogether. It gave me the same message about updating the (non-Beta) app. When I clicked the button, it told me I needed to instal Test Flight. Clearly not a good idea, since this would take me back to the Beta App.After a long discussion with the person on chat, it turns out the have to escalate the issue to the Betas team and out would rake them a day to get back
What are your recommendation for the best music
Enjoying my new Sonos 5.1 setup playing music remastered with Spatial (7.1) mix. The Atmos overhead channels are missing but what surround goodness that's decoded is interesting. The sound stage is either a 70's 'Quadrophonic' thing with lots of swirling motion and panning. Or with classical, it drops you inside the orchestra (as a member) with the violin section behind you and low brass in front. Very different from 'I'm sitting in the audience' staging.I like the depth and effect for movies so why not music? Well, it still is kinda weird to me. Almost distracting hearing the stuff they remastered into a mix that never was mixed for 7.1. Like remixing makes what was intended more better by blowing it out in some sorta spatial dimension. I confess some new stuff mastered first as 7.1 and yeah, Pink Floyd tunes sound pretty cool. Will there be a transition for most music out there to be remastered? I dunno, but Dolly and Johnny should be left in two-dimensional space! :)
Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share a cool little discovery regarding a recent Sonos Radio launch. 🪵I was relaxing to the new Yule Log sleep station and got curious about where the audio came from. I thought we had purchased the rights to a recording, but it turns out the team went the extra mile and created their own recording setup rather than using stock audio. It’s pretty impressive take a look:Harry from our Sound Experience Team, who created this, is out on PTO at the moment and can’t answer our questions, so I’m curious, are any of you able to spot what equipment he is using here? 👀The Sonos Radio team also regularly refreshes several of the main Sonos Radio stations. If you need a recommendation, check out the station More Metal featuring Poppy’s new track 'Guardian'. It's my personal favorite addition.Curious to hear your thoughts: Would you be interested in a regular spotlight on new stations and track updates? 🎶 Edit: This station is only available via Sonos Radio HD
After purchasing our products to create our Surround System and downloading the app, we are getting emails in a language we cannot read (not sure what it is). None of the support categories are pertinent. How to change it? I want to receive any important information so I don’t know if unsubscribing will be detrimental, but getting the emails in a language I cannot read are useless.Any suggestions?
Hi,Our team is putting together a new listening music experience in partnership with Sonos, and we’re looking to connect with the right person or team who handles content or collaborations. If you know who we should be speaking to, please point us in the right direction.Thank you!
Sonos sends emails to me in language other than English. It may be Swedish, I cannot read it. How do I get Sonos to change the language of the emails it sends to me to be sent in English? Thank you.
I created a new Spotify account. The Sonos app will let me remove the old spotify service but when i try to log in to the new service it automatically authorizes the old one without letting me log in to the new one. Has anyone found a work around for this?
Price dropped 20% two weeks after I purchased. Will Sonos honor the discount?
I’ve had Sonos since their beginnings with still 5 speakers amps port etc from 1st gen and no one wants them! They have always worked without ZERO problems. I’ve since renewed to the “newer” versions, with a slew of new speakers amplifiers port etc. Boy oh boy what a nightmare I live about once or twice a month...for no apparent reason. Nothing has changed on my Internet supplier other than the last 4 years I’m now at 1Gig fibre install. So, one day I see 2 of my 12 speakers, Sonos tells me to reboot my “modem”, why I don't know cause it comes back with maybe 3 of my 12 speakers...Sonos keeps telling me it's on my end. I get frustrated and hangup (politely). a day later all 12 speakers are all there and working magically. Another day all speakers are not there, so I go to every speaker and reconnect with the app. If you have enough speakers in a house and need to re-connect all 12 speakers...it's an arduous task. After all this is done they all work. Now since yesterday, on my
Hi all!I recently moved and part of the reason was setting up a home theater in this room. I have the sonos arc, sub mini, and a big lg g3. For months I’ve been going back and forth on pulling the trigger on 2 era 300s, but I am worried that my set up isnt ideal with my couch against the wall. I can feasibly push it forward 8-10 inches but not much more. Would it be a waste to go for these?
Hello all. I am at wits end here.I purchased ACE headphones back in August, I was having issues and after all the fixes were tried I was directed to send them to SONOS for replacement. It has been TWO MONTHS. Sonos has ghosted me now. The only feedback I ever got was form emails. The Purolator tracking says it has been awaiting pickup for over ONE MONTH! Does anyone have a number I can call? Something corporate perhaps. I have to contact them before I can begin legal action.
Having read the posts on dropping out I have spent over 2 hours deleting everything and re installing. I’ve done the app , switched router on/off and guess what?? Still the same, so frustrating as this stuff used to be great. Seriously considering getting rid , but not with a Sonos product . Just ornaments now 😡
Hey everyone,I’ve been experimenting with sound effects to really test what my Sonos setup can do — things like rainstorms, city ambience, movie soundtracks with deep bass, etc.I’m curious: what are your favorite sound effects or audio clips to show off the clarity, bass, and surround features of your Sonos speakers?Feel free to drop YouTube links, playlists, or even personal recordings. I’d love to build a “Sonos Sound Effects Demo Playlist.”
Hello Community:Do you know if there is a level 4 support? I have worked with all three levels without getting a stable system. Level 3 has tweaked router settings for me. I have had to call in the last three weekends because speakers dropped out when using Apple Music and it skips. One technician said I need to unplug every device every ten days, and she insisted that was standard recommendation. Level three has me hard wire my Beam gen 2 and sub mini. Then, levels one and two say no, that is not supported. Level one has me connect another speaker to one of the routers in my mesh system. But, last night m, a Level Two says that is not correct. Last night I was on the phone with Level 2 again for 1.5 hours with no solution, even though he also remotely controlled my computer. He is submitting an investigation. If there is a Level 4, how do I reach them? Brian
until about a month ago, when I turned on Sonos to listen to a radio station, all I heard was ‘welcome to tunein’, then the station started playing. Now I get 2 mins of tunein ads, followed by local ads. I just want to listen to the radio. During the day it will restart with these ads 3-4 times. It’s doing my head in and I’m now at the point of ditching Sonos altogether and getting something else. What have others experienced/done?
Hi everyone,I normally don’t post here, but I couldn’t find much info about this on other forums. I recently got a Formuler Z12 Ultra and installed Spotify on it.My question: does Sonos actually support Dolby Atmos when streaming from a device like this? I’m mainly using it with my Sonos Arc, and I’m not sure if Atmos is fully recognized. For context, this is the model I’m using: Formuler Z12 UltraHas anyone tried this setup?
