Owners café

Hi! Starting in August of this year, it is no longer possible for users from Russia to update their speakers. What is the reason for these restrictions? Why were these restrictions applied now?

The Request Line is where you tell us what you'd like Sonos to build, change, or bring back. It's been launched today and I realized it would be helpful to have one post that explained the whole thing: how to submit, what happens after you do, and what the statuses actually mean. So here it is. We'll keep adding to this as the process settles in.NOTE: You must have an account on the Community Forums to access (and submit an idea) on the Request Line. What belongs on the Request LineFeature requests and product ideas for anything Sonos. The app, speakers and home theater, headphones, services, and the Community itself. Two things are better off elsewhere:Something isn't working the way it should. That's a support question. Post it in the relevant help category so the community and our support team can dig in with you. General thoughts or opinions without a specific ask. General Feedback or Owners Cafe is the right home for those. How to write a request that gets noticedGive it a clear, s

👋🏼 Hey everyone!Along with the new brand campaign that was launched earlier this month, I’ve been working behind the scenes to bring a fresh coat of paint and a few new features to the Community Forums. There's a lot changing and nearly all of it is focused on one thing: bringing the community together and giving this space the care and attention it deserves, in a way that's actually felt and sustainable. The current targeted date for these changes is October 6th. You should not see any downtime while I make these changes, but I will be around - so please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly or mention me in a topic/comment should something go sideways.  Here are the details:  Threaded Replies 💬Just like Reddit. You'll be able to reply directly to each other and have side conversations within topics instead of everything living in one long flat thread. This one has been a long time coming and I think it's going to change the feel of conversations here in the best way. It also

I enjoy discovering simple ways to improve the listening experience at home. What are your favorite Sonos settings, features, or tips for getting better sound quality?

Hey everyone 👋Today was a big one. Like, "someday I'll tell people I was there" big. We just wrapped Sonos Open House, and I want to put the whole thing in one place for anyone who wants the recap without the stagecraft. Grab a coffee, this one's worth the read. ☕TL;DR: We gave our software platform a name: Sonos 27, the audio operating system for the home. Two new products, Beam Ultra and Sonos Ace Ultra, are up for pre-order today and on sale September 29. Portable surrounds are available starting September 8 and Sonos 27mcp lands in Early Access the same day.  Headphone linking hits Early Access September 29. Sonos 27voice arrives this fall. And yes, the app updates you've been asking for are in there too.The big picture 🖼️For 20+ years, people have thought of us as a speaker company. Fair enough, we make a lot of speakers. But the thing that actually makes Sonos work is the system underneath, the software that lets a soundbar, a portable, and a pair of headphones all act like one

I’ve been wondering how other Sonos users keep track of useful audio and music-related videos they discover online. There are quite a few types of content that can be useful to revisit later — speaker setup guides, room-acoustics demonstrations, music recommendations, listening tests, product walkthroughs, and tips for getting more out of a home audio system. The difficult part is that useful videos can quickly get buried in social-media feeds or saved-post sections.I’m thinking about creating a simple personal reference system with categories such as: Speaker setup tips Room and acoustic ideas Music recommendations Home theater setups Streaming tips Product demonstrations Troubleshooting references For those who regularly use video content to learn about audio equipment, what is your preferred way of keeping useful references organized?Do you rely on platform bookmarks, playlists, cloud storage, or folders on your computer?I’m also curious whether people actually revisit the

Hey everyone! 👋🏼Today Sonos announced a partnership with Škoda, one of Europe's most respected automakers, as the audio partner for their upcoming flagship electric vehicle, the PEAQ. Our team architected the in-cabin listening experience from the ground up: how music, voice and entertainment sound and move throughout the cabin. It's the most advanced in-cabin system we've built in automotive to date and we’re proud of what came together.Let me give you context on why this makes sense. 🔍Sonos was built around one idea, that sound should move effortlessly through the home. Everything we make is designed to show up across rooms, across the moments that fill your day, in a way that feels natural rather than something you have to think about. But listening doesn't stop at the front door. For a lot of people, especially in EVs where cabin noise is so low, the car has become one of the most intentional listening environments in their day. Taking what we've built around the home system an

Back in February I posted here and committed to being more present and more transparent about where we're headed. Time for an update. We’ve been working through a long list of improvements, and we're now in the final stretch of getting them ready. I know it’s been a decent interval of quiet on my end. Thanks for your patience. We've been reading the posts. What I wanted from this work was simple: a series of enhancements that make Sonos easier to learn and easier to use. The team has spent hundreds of hours over the past year watching real customers use the Sonos app, longtime owners and brand new ones alike. We've learned a lot about what hangs people up, what's confusing when you're new to the system, and what slows you down when you're just trying to change the darn volume. What kept showing up was this: a lot of friction came from proprietary patterns we built that made the app harder to learn and use than it needed to be. Stacks on stacks on stacks of content cards. Swipe-up gestures

I want to start by making it clear that I am not a Sonos newby. I have had the system get several years probably too many to mention. I have like a lot of users put up with the shall we say quirks of the system for years. My frustration has known no bounds. What brings me to type today? That old frustration!!! After years fighting with sky I have today changed to EE full fibre supposedly lightning fast. I spent about 50 minutes moving 5 of my devices to the new network then came a problem. The app froze and I had to close everything down. I rebooted and could only find one device, silly thing is it’s the one that gets used the least. Eventually I found a second and that’s where the story ends. Despite lot’s of resets reboots etc I can’t find the rest reboots galore!!!! I will have to try when I calm down.  SONOS TAKE NOTE!!! Sort it out so that a change of network is not a nightmare!!!!!!

You need to simplify your upgrade program...It makes no sense and is annoying.

@Tom Conrad This is feedback, not good or bad, right or wrong; just my opinion.  First I’ll date myself, was excited to think about replacing some of my oldest speakers, Play 1’s or One SLsSpent about 20-30 minutes trying to get the discount the work.  Never thought based on the EMAIL received that the T&C’s would limit the devices when my only upgrade path was to go to ERA 100’s.  T&Cs should be for things like timing.  If you are going to limit eligible speakers then mention that.  Sonos wasted my time I can’t even get the 15% right now.  Be transparent in your sales please.     You've got a 30% off credit Ready to upgrade your setup? Now's your chance. For a limited time, your 15% off credit is now worth double. Your discount will apply automatically at checkout.

Hello all.Have been a Sonos user for well over a decade.  We have several Ones, Threes, Fives, Beams, Subs and Amps, and a brand new Roamer.  Still amazed at the ease of connection.  I know there’s lots of bad reviews out there, but we’ve focused on connecting the devices by ethernet - not wifi unless absolutely impossible.  So now we have the Roamer and and an Amp connected by wifi, and all else is copper connected.  And oddly enough, using the microwave in the kitchen still causes the Amp to loose connection.  Old microwave, brand new microwave - no difference.  But we live with that cause the rest of the system is so robust.Anyway, I didn’t sit down to talk about that.  What I wanted to talk about was Sonos useless Android and PC control apps.  Honestly, I think the engineers at Sonos want us to only listen to Spotify…. NOT!!!  These apps make it impossible to browse our NAS based library (>10k tracks).  But there is hope.  I’ve found an excellent media management app called Medi

Hello,I’m new here but not new to the Sonos ecocystem. Ever since i upgraded my system I’m on a Dolby Atmos music hunt, but it’s quite often buried in both Apple Music and Tidal. Even if you find it, not all Immersive Mixes are great. That’s why I build Hello Atmos - Dolby Atmos discovery website. You can filter by genre and Immersive mix engineer, with indication of Grammy awarded engineers. On top of that, community rankings of Albums and Tracks. If you’re looking for great Dolby Atmos mixes give it a try.https://helloatmos.app  Cheers,Adrian

Hi, I've been working on a hardware side project for a while and wanted to share a demo. It's a small LED matrix that connects to your Sonos system over your local network. No cloud, no subscription — just a little screen that shows what's playing. I started prototyping on an 8×32 display (first video) but it was too cramped — lyrics could only show one word at a time. I've since moved to an 8×64 (second video), which fits much more and works a lot better for scrolling text and synced lyrics.https://youtube.com/shorts/OWAewh32Qm0?feature=sharehttps://youtube.com/shorts/3akczoITjes?feature=shareBeyond what's in the videos, it also does synchronized lyrics, Last.fm scrobbling, a web dashboard that mirrors the display, and BPM-synced animations.Curious what you all think — if you had a little display like this next to your speaker, what would actually matter to you? The now-playing info? Physical controls like skip and volume? The size of the screen? Something else entirely? I'm still figu

I’m looking to move a large iTunes library onto a portable external hard drive.  Western Digital, Seagate, and LaCie all have comparably priced 2-3TB devices.  Wondering if anyone in the community has recently purchased one of these devices and transferred a library?  If so, which one and did you encounter any difficulties?

For my serious music listening I prefer my Sonos Fives in stereo pair with Sub 3. My primary genre is smooth jazz. However, as I own an Arc Ultra with Era 300’s & Sub 4 x 2 and a stereo pair of Era 300’s with Sub 3; I’ve been curious about Dolby Atmos for music. I‘ve streamed various Dolby Atmos tracks to both setups and frankly have not been overwhelmingly impressed. That said I will give the edge to the Arc Ultra setup. One thing I’ve learned (at least to my ear) is that Dolby Atmos for music sounds best when the mix is more “eclectic” rather than straight forward. Understand...I’m not a sound engineer so “eclectic” was the best term I could think of to convey my thoughts. One artist that came to mind that I felt embodied “eclectic” mixes in their music was Prince. One song; in particular, that I think showcases his “eclectic” style of mixing is “When Doves Cry” from the album Purple Rain. The overlays of vocals and instruments IMO is the perfect song for a Dolby Atmos mix.So, I str

I decided to leave the Beta program. I took the relevant steps and got an email saying I had been removed from the program.I factory reset all my devices. I deleted the Beta Apps from my iPad, iPhone and iMac. I installed the regular Apps on my iPad, iPhone and iMac.I managed to connect my new Sonos Era 100 and everything worked fine. BUT THEN, I tried to add the other devices, and a message popped up saying I needed to update the (non-Beta) app. I clicked on it but it wanted to instal the Beta App again!!. This was before I removed Test Flight.I went to Test Flight and removed the Sonos Beta App. I then deleted test Flight altogether. It gave me the same message about updating the (non-Beta) app. When I clicked the button, it told me I needed to instal Test Flight. Clearly not a good idea, since this would take me back to the Beta App.After a long discussion with the person on chat, it turns out the have to escalate the issue to the Betas team and out would rake them a day to get back

Hi all,Just got my first Sonos and I'm completely new. Looking for quick beginner tips. Thanks! 😊
