This morning my book of experiences with Sonos opened a new chapter. After I had to learn painfully that Sonos does not offer any repairservice centrally, I visited a licensed Sonos Dealer in the City of Braunschweig Germany. Even there, in a dealership with top noche service for repairs, the skilled dealers technicians refused to even accept to try to repair the Sonos speaker. I am just wondering how Sonos managed to maintain their reputation with such a customer orientation. My question is if anyone has an idea if the is some place where a only 4 year old speaker could tbe a least inspected for a possible repair solution.Thanks

Hi all. Listening to demos only. I have not had the chance to play with the EQ.Tempted to get the Ultra but when listening, all content sounds cinematic/theatrical. Will ve using for general tv (documentaries, soaps, news) gaming and movies. For general tv the cinematic feel can be overkill. I know you can play with the settings. But from user review can you get the bar to sound natural like normal tv quality (obviously better than tv) but normsl sounds if that makes sense? If so how close to normal can you get?Thanks

The title says it all. Many other apps show the position within the file (timestamp) in a large font in the center of the screen while you are scrubbing (dragging the position slider). The reason this is needed is often you will want to drag to skip the first three minutes of a podcast, but your thumb blocks the time stamp. 

Hi there, I'm having issues with TuneIn lately. Says "Couldn't Play Content. Try Again." I also can't remove/re-add Tunein, when I Remove Accounts it says "Accounts not removed. Something went wrong when removing your accounts". So I'm stuck really. Tried rebooting router, unplugging speakers, clearing cache of the app, uninstalling app, etc. Any help would be appreciated. 

Google Assistant went through a rocky period over the last year while Google was attempting a rather confusing re-organization of how their automation routines work. They managed to break most existing automation routines, and at times it seemed like nothing was working properly. This not only affected Sonos speakers supporting Google Assistant, but Sonos saw more impact than native Google speakers. I pretty much gave up on them and moved most of my automations to Alexa.But Google finally seems to have gotten their act together, and automation routines are working again, including those which failed on Sonos previously. The earlier flaw that automation routines can’t speak any custom text on Sonos remains, but it’s worth trying Google automation routines again if it was the more recent failures that led to abandoning Google Assistant.

I would like to have 2 sonos ace headphones connected to my system when my wife and I watch a movie,  whilst my daughter is studying in the other room. I would like to know if that is possible before I purchase a second ace. I have a simple set up with my arc ultra to my TV and sub. I believe this was not possible a year ago when I got the system. Has this changed? Thank you for any feedback. 

Followed the steps to installing my music library in Sonos. The library is now visible in the controller app but is empty of content.Suggestions? 

Suddenly the SONOS S2 app on MAC OS Sequoia 15.7.3 when it starts it spends 5 - 6 seconds searching for the sonos network. Then announces my Firewall settings need changing. Funny as the firewall is turned off on this particular laptop. Anyway it eventually gets past this and then announces the app needs an update. Hit the search for updates button, funny as there are no updates. What the hell is going on with this piece of junk? Maybe unrelated but when playing across multiple devices, some devices go quiet for upto a minute then continues. No indication of issues and at least one device continues playing without issue.  

Has anyone fiddled with the Apple Shortcuts automations for Sonos?  I created an automation to play every Sonos Room.  I know I could have just said “Hey Sonos. Play Everywhere”, but using that option plays the Rooms at whatever volume they were last set at.  The beauty using the Apple Shortcuts app is you can preset a volume for each room.  Unfortunately when I looked at what music can be played the choices were only radio stations in the Favorites list.  Has anyone been able to access Sonos Playlists as well as Radio stations?

Hi everyone,I’ve been experiencing a frustrating issue since updating my Sonos app. My speakers appear in the app initially, but after a few minutes they randomly disappear or show as disconnected even though they’re still connected to my Wi-Fi network.I’ve already tried:Restarting the router and all Sonos devices Reinstalling the app Resetting the speakers and setting them up again Ensuring all devices are on the same networkThe problem keeps coming back, especially when trying to group rooms or switch between music services.Has anyone else encountered this issue recently? The dialog in news and sometimes movies often feel thin, flat and “sharp/harsh” with no warmth or natural bass/resonance. So first I thought maybe it was an issue with the bass radiators but oh no, in movies there is insane rumble during action scenes/explosions for example. Almost like there is a sub in the room. So no complaints there. But somehow the bass is just not there in dialogs/human voices.When I press my ear to the soundbar I can hear that the left midwoofer next to the center tweeter being a bit louder and more open compared to the right one which is a bit more closed but with more bass. HiSince 2013 I have been a happy Sonos user - until the amateurish app update May 2024. Luckily I had automatic AppStore and Sonos system updates switched off by then and have managed to stay on the S2 app (gold), which for me worked perfectly.However, last week, in my naivety I took the plunge and upgraded my app + system to latest versions.Now indexing my local library (living on a Synology NAS) takes forever - if it works at all. If I use the Windows app (gold), it works like a charm - as fast as the older S2 (gold) app used to.Since 2013 I never had an issue indexing my local library, but that seems to have been destroyed by the new app/system updates.Does anybody experince the same when local library indexing, and can anybody explain why this is happening?I could downgrade to S1 as all my speakers are S1 compatible - but then I’d have to remain from buying new Sonos units as they will not be compatible with S1, to avoid 2 systems.

The issue with sound cutting out is specific to Teams. It can happen while the other person is speaking. If I open the app on my phone, I can tell the speaker to start playing the line-in signal again; but it seems to cut out again as soon as my phone locks.Audio Delay is set to minimum. Pretty much a requirement for PC sound and essential for Teams, or the other person will hear an echo of their voice. At the suggestion of the support chatbot, I set the line in sound to compressed, rather than automatic. Did not fix it - may even have made it worse. Source level is set to high, which gives better volume control; but had the same problem at 8 (Portable Player, PC). Happens with and without an Autoplay volume set. Turning off Teams noise suppression does not help.The speaker is connected via the headphone output of a dock. The dock is used by multiple laptops, so Bluetooth is not an option. Hello, hopefully someone at SONOS sees this. As it’s impossible to use the iphone physical buttons for volume control (I can understand the problem with this) Sonos are recommending e.g. using the physical buttons on ROAM. However these sound effects are very off putting.Please can you offer the option to disable sound effects on this?Thank you

I would like to make a feature request:When an attempt to add an album or track(s) to a Sonos Playlist that already contains that content give a warning as such.  Give the option to add again or not add.

The Project T2 turntable, sold by Sonos as if it is a Sonos turntable (it isn’t), doesn’t integrate well with my Sonos system. I am using a Move 2 to support the line-in from the turntable.The problem is this: whenever I flip a record from A to B side, Sonos loses the audio connection. Sometimes the sound comes on later by itself after a delay of some tens of seconds (so we don't hear the beginning of the record). Sometimes I have to hit the "play" button on the app for the sound to come through (more audio missed). Sometimes some speakers play the music but another speaker starts to play some tens of seconds later. If I change which speakers are grouped to play, the sound disappears. The app keeps showing the "apply" button for the speaker grouping, but then nothing happens. Repeat.In short, the integration with Sonos is absolutely horrible and Sonos should not be selling it as an integrated product. My Sonos system cannot connect to myTuner Radio.  It seems the problem is with the Finnish YLE radio channels. For instance Radio Sweden can be connected as well as some commercial radio stations in Finland.The problem appeared July 2nd.

I have four Play 3 units bought some years ago. I have one attached to my ADSL gateway and it works OK as do the other three.I now want to use one in my workshop, I have a new, different 5G internet there from TMobile that works fine.What must I do to be able to use one of the Play 3 devices in my workshop and my other WiFi network?Is it true that one MUST connect it to the gateway via ethernet in order to do this?  I use the Windows desktop app to control Sonos.

Hi there,New Play, added SVC and Alexa. Worked fine at first, then the speaker would stop responding to “Hey Sonos” or “Alexa.”I tried removing Alexa and Sonos voice control and re-adding and that didn’t work. Restarting the Play worked before to get them to respond, but restarting the speaker doesn’t seem to work anymore either.Done everything short of a factory reset because that’s always a headache.any ideas?

I have noticed that the Beam 2 seems to produce better surround effects. I can actually hear sounds coming from the rear, whereas similar sounds with the Ultra are off the the side of my position. Has anyone noticed the same thing? I’m seriously thinking of returning the Ultra and getting another Beam 2.

I’m moving to a new house and trying to figure out the best placement for my Era 300 speakers in the living room. I have an arc ultra, 2 era 300s, and a gen 4 sub. I attached a drawing of the current setup. My options for the Era 300s is on a console table that will go behind the couch, but the issue is cord management since there is not an outlet super close to the center of the room. It would be doable, but not ideal. The second is mount them by the light behind the couch on the vaulted ceiling that you can see in the picture. There’s an electrical plate there you can’t see in the picture and there’s one mirrored on the other side of the room that you can’t see. I’ve read that once you get a certain distance from the ceiling you’ll need to invert the speaker. The third option is the add 2 outlet by each vents seen in the picture and mount them there. Let me know what you think and if you need more info or pictures.
