Hey Sonos Community! 👋 As summer has officially kicked off, I'm already enjoying sunny days, long evenings, and, of course, the perfect soundtrack to go along with it all. I'm heading off on my summer vacation soon, and I'm starting to curate a summer playlist for the trip. But I realized, who better to ask for inspiration than this incredible community of music lovers?Every summer has those defining songs – the ones that instantly gets you in the right mood for the summer. Whether it's a chill poolside vibe, an energetic track for a road trip, or something perfect for a backyard BBQ, I'm all ears. So, I want to hear from you all what songs you got to share with us.What are your absolute go-to summer anthems? Are there any new tracks you've discovered this year that just scream "summer" to you? Do you have different summer songs for different activities (e.g., relaxing, working out, entertaining), or do you have a classic summer hit that never gets old for you?To kick things off, here
Hi! Starting in August of this year, it is no longer possible for users from Russia to update their speakers. What is the reason for these restrictions? Why were these restrictions applied now?
Hi everybody! We have a new Sonos app update, and it fixes a personal annoyance of mine: your queue now sticks around when you switch to radio or TV, so you can pick up right where you left off. We've also added search autocomplete, brought a few favorite iOS gestures to Android, and made system updates more visible in settings. The full list of changes is in our App release notes and Player release notes. This update is rolling out in phases, so it may not be available to everyone right away. If you don't see it yet, check back a little later. I have finally noticed an issue with the Local Library (Music library) Album view. The screenshots will show the problem. This is not due to faulty tagging. I suffer from tagging OCD. The album is not even a compilation album.
The Request Line is where you tell us what you'd like Sonos to build, change, or bring back. It's been launched today and I realized it would be helpful to have one post that explained the whole thing: how to submit, what happens after you do, and what the statuses actually mean. So here it is. We'll keep adding to this as the process settles in.NOTE: You must have an account on the Community Forums to access (and submit an idea) on the Request Line. It’s disappointing that SONOS acknowledges that you cannot select a Group for an Alarm and instead instructs you to pick a Room and select Include Grouped Rooms. What if that Room is part of more than one Group?? The easier, more intuitive option would be to allow you to choose a Group for the Alarm, right? And here is an additional issue I’m having with Include Grouped Rooms - a speaker that is not “included” in a room that is selected for an Alarm, comes on with that Alarm intermittently..? Worst part of the issue is - it’s a 6AM Alarm that comes on in the bedroom when it shouldn’t. That only heightens my frustration with this lack of feature/function when that happens. Thanks for considering this enhancement.
👋🏼 Hey everyone!Along with the new brand campaign that was launched earlier this month, I’ve been working behind the scenes to bring a fresh coat of paint and a few new features to the Community Forums. There's a lot changing and nearly all of it is focused on one thing: bringing the community together and giving this space the care and attention it deserves, in a way that's actually felt and sustainable. The current targeted date for these changes is October 6th. You should not see any downtime while I make these changes, but I will be around - so please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly or mention me in a topic/comment should something go sideways. Here are the details: Threaded Replies 💬Just like Reddit. You'll be able to reply directly to each other and have side conversations within topics instead of everything living in one long flat thread. This one has been a long time coming and I think it's going to change the feel of conversations here in the best way. It also
I enjoy discovering simple ways to improve the listening experience at home. What are your favorite Sonos settings, features, or tips for getting better sound quality?
I was an early adopter of Sonos. I’ve been a product tester, have several thousands of dollars in Sonos products and have been on a Sonos system for nearly 20 years. In the first decade of using Sonos it felt like a world change to my prior music system -- not in audio quality, but in the useability, connectivity, and experience. It’s now totally the opposite. Cumbersome, constant wifi/network/password issues, updates, system settings, serial numbers, endless grind to keep it online. In addition, the actual speakers do not sound as good as they once did to my ear. Not only did they retire some of the best speakers they’ve ever made, the replacements do not have the same quality. I often just go to my garage to listen to my gen 1 Sonos system. My nearly $1k Sub died just after “warranty” after only a few years. I’m told there’s no fixing it and it’s barely been used. It always created more connectivity problems than it was worth and now it is literally a 30 pound piece of garbage.I’m don
Well, I bought into this SONOS system and it used to work awesome. Now, it’s crap. Now I have all of these components and they're all as good as paperweights now. I cannot get this BS system to work anymore for anything. I have submitted diagnostics, well when the system will allow me to anyways, most the times I cannot even submit diagnostics because I can't connect to it or it just simply won’t let me. I'm so frustrated with this system. I have speakers in every room of my house and I sure wish I could control them. My speakers drop off, one room will play one thing while the rest of the house is on something else or just gone. I've spent time with the techs on the phone. I've had to go to every single piece of equipment and unplug it and plug it back in. I just want to listen to music in my house but I guess I put all my money into the wrong system. Anyone have a better system they are using now cause I'm ready to throw thousands of dollars away to get music in my house. S
Anyway to delete or hide the continuous Apple Music issue pop up? It’s gotten old.
Yesterday the Room I was playing to was at an extremely loud volume. Fortunately I had Volume Limit set low enough to avoid speaker damage. The solution was to turn OFF Live Activities in the app and on the controller device, in this case IOS. It's too easy for me to accidentally press down on the volume up button when I'm grabbing the iPhone. In the app I went to Account-App Preferences-Live Activity. Turned it OFF. This alone does not necessarily disable side button volume control on the iPhone. I had to also go to iPhone Settings-Apps-Sonos-Live Activities-Allow Live Activities turned that OFF.Update: Airplay is still connecting to Sonos. Working on disabling this.
Maybe someone can share some insight on this..my house has Sonos in every room. Two rooms each have a Sony tv, Arc, sub, and two one SL’s. One of the Sony TV’s stopped showing the volume level on the screen. It was working but now does not. Remote works as well as the Sonos app fine..just no level indication except on the Sonos app. The other Sony tv shows the volume level and as the other , both remote and app work…but shows volume level o the screen. Both TV’s have same settings as well as the settings for the Arc’s. Ive reset the tv and I’ve searched high and low with really no clear answers. Just throwing this out there to see if anyone might why it stopped.
Are there any plans for increasing account security and adding mfa to authentication?
The search results returned within the Android app should behave as they do in the desktop app and return ‘Album Artist’ within the Artists results for compilations...Any compilation albums have the ‘Album Artist’ value effectivly excluded from Artist search results in the App. This is new behaviour for the app since the ‘May 2024’ release. Prior to this behaviour was correct. It remains correct in the Desktop app.Details: On searching for ‘Various’/’Various Artists’ the Windows desktop application it, correctly, does what it always has done and returns ‘Varions Artists’ in the ‘Artists’ search results: However, when the same search is performed from the Android app there are no results under ‘Artists’: All other results (Albums/Songs/Composers ect.) are consistent & correct across both Android and Winsows apps.Albums are correctly tagged:Capitalisation, varying index grouping between album artist/compilation/both options or removing the ‘Compilation’ tag has no impact on the beha
FYIIn the past if a device was powered down or removed the Sonos app (iOS/Android) would still show the device for a few days then it would disappear. That was expected behavior.I have a special case wherein I have three (3) stereo pairs of portables (Move 2, Roam 2 and Play). I can only have one set active on my network at a given time; otherwise I’d exceed the max number of 32 devices. Therefore when not being used the other two sets are powered down. If not approaching 32 devices (or you have no portables) you may not be aware of the behavior I’m about to describe:The app now shows powered down devices continuously. That’s not a bad thing...in fact I like it. Devices removed still remain visible but disappear after a while (3-5 days)You won’t find any documentation (or at least I can’t) on this behavior. Therefore, I hesitate to call it a feature…just (IMHO) an additional benefit. PSIf someone finds the above documented somewhere; please add it to this thread.
For a good long time Apple Music, Dolby Atmos played with no errors through my Arc-Sub3-ERA 300s. Today I’m starting to get occasional dropouts or skips to the next track. Was using a different app to display what was playing so by the time I opened Sonos the error showing disappeared. I’ll keep an eye out.I know I should do diagnostics @ call which I will do during the week. Was just wondering if anyone else noticed a degradation in the performance of Dolby Atmos using Apple Music.
Ordered on 09/02/26. I received tracking numbers for both on 09/25/26. Barring any delays they should arrive on 09/29/26 as scheduled.Yippeeeee !!!
Why do you make it so hard? With two taps I should be able to change the input of a specific group of speakers. With three taps I should be able to add/remove speakers from a group.Instead I find myself using OTHER APPS to control media and absolutely ignoring the Sonos app because I can’t figure out how the [hell] it’s supposed to work. I’m paying a premium to buy your speakers and honestly using the hardware buttons over the software to control most aspects. What speakers even is this group? How am I supposed to be able to change what speakers this input is connected to?? This is useless. Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.
Hi! I’m trying to login to the c space research community I’ve been part of for the past two years with Sonos and I can’t find the web address. Does anyone have it available?
Hey everyone 👋Today was a big one. Like, "someday I'll tell people I was there" big. We just wrapped Sonos Open House, and I want to put the whole thing in one place for anyone who wants the recap without the stagecraft. Grab a coffee, this one's worth the read. ☕TL;DR: We gave our software platform a name: Sonos 27, the audio operating system for the home. Two new products, Beam Ultra and Sonos Ace Ultra, are up for pre-order today and on sale September 29. Portable surrounds are available starting September 8 and Sonos 27mcp lands in Early Access the same day. Headphone linking hits Early Access September 29. Sonos 27voice arrives this fall. And yes, the app updates you've been asking for are in there too.The big picture 🖼️For 20+ years, people have thought of us as a speaker company. Fair enough, we make a lot of speakers. But the thing that actually makes Sonos work is the system underneath, the software that lets a soundbar, a portable, and a pair of headphones all act like one
Do Sonos 100s sound best as surrounds or fronts with Ray?
I’ve been wondering how other Sonos users keep track of useful audio and music-related videos they discover online. There are quite a few types of content that can be useful to revisit later — speaker setup guides, room-acoustics demonstrations, music recommendations, listening tests, product walkthroughs, and tips for getting more out of a home audio system. The difficult part is that useful videos can quickly get buried in social-media feeds or saved-post sections.I’m thinking about creating a simple personal reference system with categories such as: Speaker setup tips Room and acoustic ideas Music recommendations Home theater setups Streaming tips Product demonstrations Troubleshooting references For those who regularly use video content to learn about audio equipment, what is your preferred way of keeping useful references organized?Do you rely on platform bookmarks, playlists, cloud storage, or folders on your computer?I’m also curious whether people actually revisit the
Product idea- offer something to replace and fill in the holes in my walls where the home intercom system devices were installed.Systems typically have a centrally located master control that could be replaced w a device to run Sonos App. It typically has a doorbell intercept wire and a microphone and a wire to each remote intercom unit. I’d bet Sonos could build a retrofit adapter kit and do something cool to give these homes a modern update to resurrect these features.
Just a little FUN!!!
