Hi AllWe are happy to announce to all Arc Ultra owners that the latest Sonos system update (issued today) includes a change to the behaviour of the “TV Level” surround setting slider option, in response to your feedback.Previously, the slider had an effect on the apparent volume of the Arc Ultra itself, as the Arc Ultra is involved with the rendering of the rear channels, even when rear speakers are present. Now, the new behaviour of the “TV Level” setting will be that it will only affect the rear drivers/speakers, rather than the rear channels. The result of this is that when adjusting “TV Level”, you will no longer hear the audio coming directly from the Arc Ultra increase or decrease with the slider. Instead, you will only hear the surround speakers raise or lower their volume with the slider.I hope you all enjoy the change we’ve made - happy listening! Please note that I am keeping this thread separate from the threads already extant in relation to Arc Ultra and it’s audio profile. My Sonos system won’t connect to my new home wifi network. The app prompts the update but then it is unable to complete the change.
So, after this app debacle I’m on the hunt for technical solutions. The one that I found is that I use Symfonium ( https://symfonium.app ) and oh great it supports UPnP ! I can play my files in the FLAC format (16bit/44.1 kHz) without problems !But my music provider converts to OPUS 128kb/s for my smartphone because when I’m on the road… Roaming gets quickly expensive. I then get 48.0 kHz files that are then sent via UPnP to Sonos, just like FLAC.According to https://docs.sonos.com/docs/supported-audio-formats, 48 kHz is supported for Opus. But it doesn’t work. Bummer. But fear not I got one last card up my sleeve and it’s to transcode to MP3. So I’m trying MP3 320kb/s, in 44.1 kHz which again is supposed to work and… well, it doesn’t work.I tried another UPnP device it was working flawlessly, and it even works over Chromecast… But we can all dream about Chromecast on Sonos when I see Apple and AirPlay working without problems it really sucks using Android with Sonos… :(Any staff members
I have 2 sonos Roam speakers. One of which will not connect. I have not used this one for several months. All I get when placed on charger is the orange light but this goes out for after a couple of minutes then nothing. I’ve tried a different charger same thing.
Has anyone successfully switched the sound from the Arc to Sonos Ace?I get the following error message when trying to Swap “Sonos couldn't complete swap” ThanksRoss
For more information and steps to try, please see this support article: Error 1000 when updating Sonos Hi, I wanted to add the last element to my Sonos set (SUB + 2x Era 300), - Arc. I get to the point of updating the software and I get "Error: 1000". And so on. I've already tried factory reset and moving closer to the router. It's always the same. Maybe you have some ideas or similar experiences?
This topic is older and might not have the most up to date information. Please click here to see a list of more topics around the same subject. Recently I bought 2 Sonos Roam speakers and tried to add one of them to my system in the mobile app (v.80.01.07, Android), but the setup failed at the last stage - at adding and trying to update the speaker. After this my new Roam was seen in my system but its state was “Not registered”. I couldn’t use it - the app suggested to update the speaker but I got the “Error 1000” message. Then I Thought about adding my Roam in the Sonos controller program (v.16.2, MS Windows 11) on my PC. On starting the program suggested to update (I thought - to update the program, but it updated my speaker as I understood later). I aggreed and the update succeded. After that I made factory reset on this Roam speaker (https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/reset-your-sonos-product).Then I tried again to add this speaker in the mobile app and heard the greeting sound
Hi. My sonos connect disappeared from my system according to my phone app. Multiple attempts to find it/reconnect were unsuccessful. I tried turning it off and on again. That didn’t solve anything. I tried resetting it. That was a mistake! Now, I just have a flashing red light. I called support and they said “it’s a known issue” “we are working on it” “a fix will be rolled out soon.” That seems unlikely considering the connect is so old (how long has this been a known issue)? Any ideas on how I can get my connect working again?
Is anyone else having issues with amp multi being able to join other Sonos speakers in different zones? If I am able to get any of the amp multi channels to join other Sonos speakers it, or they, will eventually drop.
Just an update concerning the new Beam Ultra. This was a replacement for a playbar with a sub gen 1and 2 play 1’s as surrounds. The beam sees and connects to the sub but after many resets, a long AI conversation and then eventually getting connected to a human, it turns out play 1’s as surrounds are not compatible with the beam ultra. that’s a real pity but something to be aware of. David
Good morning. I’d like to ask if you happen to be working on an outdoor model—similar to the Five—that simply needs to be plugged into a power outlet and can use the home Wi-Fi network (perhaps boosted by a mesh system). Thanks.
How do I delete one of the living room zones?
These are my personal opinions. The Ace Ultra is a definite upgrade over the original Ace with a few stipulations. The overall sound and some other features are improved; but not to a point that the original Ace is a throw-away. ANCBetter; however, I still prefer my Apple AirPods Pro 3. There’s a logical reason why I pick the Apple AirPods Pro 3…which is in-ear (Apple) vs over-the-ear (Ace Utlra). The former provides a tighter seal as one would expect. Finally, I wear glasses which works against the Ace Ultra providing the same tight seal as my AirPods Pro 3. That said, the average non-eye glass wearer should find the ANC on the Ace Ultra comparable to other high-end ANC headsets; if not slightly better.Transparency/Aware modesUnchanged.TV Audio SwapHandled in much the same manner as does the original Ace. So basically, un-remarkable.Spatial AudioReproduction is excellent and better than the original Ace. I used the scene in movie Sinners where music from past, present and future are me
The Sonos Ace has always been too loud at its lowest volume setting with no acknowledgement from Sonos despite multiple posts here. The solution for Android users was to Disable Absolute Volume in Developer Options but Google has now removed this ability. Has the Sonos Ace Ultra fixed this issue?
Something has clearly changed in the Amazon Music → Sonos integration in the past 2 months, and it’s breaking the way many of us use Sonos.I have multiple Amazon Music playlists with 500+ songs. For years, Sonos handled them without any issue: Sonos S1 loaded full playlists. Sonos S2 loaded full playlists. The Sonos Windows app could load all 500+ tracks, even when mobile apps had limits. Now, suddenly: S1 loads only 300 tracks. S2 loads only 225 tracks. Anything beyond that simply disappears from the queue. The Windows app no longer bypasses the limit. This is not an Amazon Music problem — the playlists are complete and playable everywhere except Sonos. It’s not a device problem — it happens across S1, S2, and Windows. It’s not a user error — I’ve tested multiple playlists, multiple accounts, multiple devices.I’ve contacted Amazon support. No solution. I’ve tried third‑party apps. No solution. I’ve searched the forum. Only scattered complaints, but clearly the issue is new a
I have an older Sonos system that uses the S1 app but I cannot log into the S1 app despite being able to log into the S2 app (which tells me is incompatible with my system) as well as the sonos website. I have my Playbar and one of my Play:1 external speakers both connected from the initial setup when I first got the system but the S1 app does not allow me to log in to “access more features” such as reconnecting my other Play:1 external speaker which has been disconnected for some time now and nothing seems to allow it to reconnect other than the S1 app.
I have a Beam Gen 2 connected to a Sony BRAVIA XR-48A90K. About 90% of the time when I turn the TV on it does not detect the Beam and reverts back to the built-in speakers. If I go into the TV settings and change the output to Audio System it starts working. Is there something I can do so the TV reliably detects the Beam when I turn it on?
I have the arc ultra soundbar positioned as recommended by Sonos in front of tv to the correct measurements.I find that the volume level constantly drops while watching certain programmes especially music programmes where either the vocal or soundtrack is lower and the balance never seems right.i have tried various settings and I can’t find a good balance.the hdmi lead connects to the e arc port and the tv is an lg55 ultra hd model which is about 5 years old.i have tried tru play and adjusting the eq settings but to no avail.any advice would be welcome.
System worked until router replaced/upgraded now cannot use alexa - access my personnel music or radio stations - re booted sonos and alexa - doesn't always recognise anything - have also rebooted router several times - router is accepted and works with tv - tablet - phones etc -- really at a loose as to what next - did think about cancelling sonos and alexa and re joining but fear they may not accept as email seen as already on record -- does any one have some advice please
I'm thinking about upgrading my soundbar to the new Sonos Beam Ultra. My current setup consists of:Sonos Beam Gen 2Sonos Sub Mini2x Sonos One as rear surroundsFor those who have made this switch or tested this exact combo (i know its still a bit early?), will I notice a real, tangible difference when it comes to Dolby Atmos height channels and overall acoustic immersion? I’ve read some reviews on the Beam Ultra and it seems like a nice upgrade, but most of them did not include a decent setup, they only reviewed the bar itself. Any impressions, thoughts, or advice would be greatly appreciated!
I’m thinking of buying a cinema sound sofa which runs of blue tooth. Will my Sonos still work if I Bluetooth my tv to my sofa?
I want to use my Beam Ultra with my PC. The PC has an optical out (using the Sonos adaptor), but only seems to work with PCM stereo. When playing surround from Plex I get no sound. This seems to be a Realtek problem.I am trying to work around this while also using more of the Beam Ultra’s capabilities. The PC has an HDMI out, so I am thinking the FeinTech AX310 could help connect the PC to the Beam Ultra since it would provide eARC to the Beam Ultra. Would I be right in thinking this? Are there other options?
I have an Arc, Sub Mini and Era 300 pair in my living room, and sometimes when I’m playing music through the Sonos app, it would be really great to throw something on the TV for visuals, but if I turn on the TV it will stop playing music and take control of the soundbar to output TV audio. Is there I way to temporarily ignore that, as if I had unplugged the HDMI cable? or if not can that please be a feature request?
I’ve just bought an Apple Watch and am testing the Lyd for Sonos software which works on the watch whilst I am still in the 14 day trial period. I find when I search for an artist or music I have in my Music Library the Lyd watch software is returning no results in my Music Library. Music is indexed and resides on my NAS wired directly to my router. All and any ideas to resolve gratefully received!
There is a small issue with the ACE ULTRA I just received. It’s up to date to begin with (latest firmware). When I listen to music using USB C on my Mac, when I take off the headset to put on the table, the music does not stop. When I put it back on my head, the music is paused.Anyone experiencing the same issue?
