Sonos Skill is not available on Alexa if you search Alexa skills in the UK 22/09/26

Thanks for digging into this, but I don't think that explanation holds up, and I'd hate for anyone reading this thread to disable/re-enable their Alexa Sonos skill based on it.

"Smart Home Add-ons" is real Amazon terminology, but it's the new framework for building smart-home device integrations (lights, plugs, thermostats) for Alexa+. It has nothing to do with the Sonos skill, which is a separate music-control skill under Skills & Games, not a smart home skill. A rename of an unrelated developer category wouldn't explain what we're actually seeing.

I rang Sonos support directly today. They confirmed the skill genuinely isn't available right now, that it started yesterday, and that Sonos and Amazon engineers are actively looking into why. That's a straight confirmation it's broken, not relabelled.

Also worth noting: the Sonos skill's own product listing https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sonos-Inc/dp/B072ML3N6K returns "page not found" on amazon.co.uk, amazon.com and amazon.de. A rename or recategorisation wouldn't make the listing itself 404 on three separate storefronts, it'd still resolve, just under different wording. That points to the listing having been pulled, not renamed.

So for now: don't disable or remove Alexa Sonos Skill from your Sonos speakers, and don't go chasing this as a UI change. It's a genuine outage on Sonos/Amazon's side, out of our hands, and the best move is to check back with Sonos support for updates rather than resetting anything.

And you won’t. Read the posts above. Amazon is apparently revamping things. However Sonos is aware and working with Amazon.
