Hi EveryoneWe moderators of the community - @Corry P, @Jamie A & @Sotiris C. - wanted to take an opportunity to explain some of what is currently happening on the community.First of all, we value all the feedback you are providing about the new Sonos App. We hear you. Feedback is coming in fast and thick, however - for understandable reasons - and to be frank, we are having trouble just keeping up with it all. For this reason, some topics that have not yet been replied to will go unanswered. We will, however, do our best to amalgamate some of these separate threads into bigger, related threads (such as one big thread for Alarm complaints and another for Queue Management) to be answered en-mass. The threads that are feedback on other aspects of the new app will be merged with this post.Threads that describe issues such as missing rooms and app crashes (those that are not just feedback, in other words) will be answered, as will threads not relating to the new app in anyway, but these
The new app is terrible. I think my experience is worse because the app update happened during our move into a new house, new network, new ISP, etc. I have deleted my Sonos app, Sonos account, reinstalled the app, set up a new account, factory reset all devices a dozen times, tried 2.4 GHz, IoT onboarding, etc, etc, etc. I can see the devices all connected to my Wifi, but none appears in the Sonos S2 app on my system. I was able to get the ARC to finally appear on a wired ethernet connection, but disappears when I unplug and go wireless. I might be able to run a switch at my TV to connect TV, ARC and Sub wired, but Sonos should fix their issues.I think the best thing I can do right now is file a warranty claim on my Platinum AMEX since Sonos will not respond to Support emails. I don’t have hours to spend on the phone on hold since apparently their help desk is overwhelmed with customer issues. I have already wasted hours trying to set up the Sonos. I installed at least a
Is the new community your idea of an improvement? It is anything but an improvement. Several important threads I started have lost content. When I try and type a response, I can't see the entire response I am creating--it only allows me to see a couple of lines at a time. I am a long-time Sonos user, and I feel that I have been slapped in the face. Sonos no longer has my endorsement.
If ever a situation called for a class action lawsuit, this is it:Company sells customers expensive, multi-unit hardware systems Tethers customers to a software ecosystem to use them effectively Dramatically changes software into an auto-update environment Unsuspecting customers lose access to extensive, core media sources and features that significantly diminish the value of their expensive hardware and/or make it untenable for usage they had every reason to believe they would continue to have Customers wishing to continue meeting these essential needs forced to sell Company hardware that they had no intention of doing at a loss and buy competitor hardware. Pattern of behavior by Company indicates that choices made to remove said functionality were part of an intentional, plan to damage the product experience of many users in favor of others.Seriously. After two and a half years of owning the five I’m considering leaving Sonos entirely. I’ve found the app and the five speaker both to be problematic. The five speaker regularly disconnects, every 3-5 weeks it will disconnect (no internet change, no physical change in the environment where the speaker is) and it will not work for about a week and then it will suddenly work again. Resetting, factory reset, sometimes not always, works. Then go to the app - which is the first step in diagnosing why the speaker isn’t working. The app itself I have a tonne of qualms with. Every time I open it a new section is greyed out or simply unusable. Every time I have this issue I have to look online and I see numerous other people having issues with Sonos functionality as well but its all over the place - archived answers from years ago etc. We’re looking to outfit our house with a complete audio solution in 2 years, I bought the five to “test drive” sonos as a company and tbh I have been defending so
No integration with my Sonos system !!!!!!!We’ve all been waiting for headphones we can add to our Sonos systems like any other Sonos speaker product.These new Ace headphones are just fancy bluetooth headphones - no better than Sony or Bose.First the app upgrade disaster and now headphones that won’t work as part of an existing Sonos system.Ridiculous!It’s a “no purchase” from me!
So it has been about two days since the launch of the new Sonos app. Judging by the number of negative posts on this community forum and on the Sonos subreddit, I think it is pretty safe to say that the app launch has been a pretty massive failure.This is a very critical moment for Sonos. The Sonos app is the core of their ecosystem. I can imagine tensions are running high at the Sonos headquarters as they try to figure out what went wrong and how they need to respond. A moment like this can sometimes be the beginning of the end for a company and Sonos knows this.Consumer trust is the most important thing a company needs to remain successful and to grow. Sonos dropped the ball with the new app and has lost the trust of many new and loyal customers. And the timing cannot be any worse with the upcoming release of their new headphones.So what does Sonos need to do next? What kind of response would ease your anger and frustrations?
