I have the Sonos arc working great for both music and tv. The Sonos one sls play through music in surround just fine, but I can’t seem to get tv sound to play to speakers, it only comes through soundbar. I have tried to add them as surround. any advice or tips?

We are Remodeling our house, and creating a relatively small (10 ft x 12 ft) room for watching TV/movies. We intend to reuse Arc and play:1 or One speakers for rear surround.  Thinking about adding sub amp and two sonance architectural ceiling speakers for enhanced (5.1.2 ??) surround.  Any guidance?  Does this sort of setup make sense? Thanks!Matt

Hi everyone,Since many of my albums are poorly categorized by Genre, I went in and manually changed them in Windows Music Player. But when I update the music library for Sonos, anything previously uploaded keeps the original genre name, regardless of what it shows in the player. It does this even if I re-import the entire library. Any idea why this happens and what I could try?

Started just after the last sonos app update. Now sonos can’t update my library index.Its a weird one because my playlists with music on my server are still visible and I can play them but my entire library is missing. It also doesn’t show the path to my server as being ‘stored’Anyone any ideas what to do before phone sonos?

Say, I want to use ROAM at a golf course away from my Sonos system.  The following steps did not work:Charge ROAM Set up ROAM on my SONOS network Switch to Bluetooth pairing by holding down power for 2 seconds Pair the ROAM with my iPhone using Bluetooth Test the connection Turn off the speaker by holding down power for 5 seconds Turn on the speaker at the golf courseWhen I completed Step 7, the light was blinking white (I think because it was searching for wifi, which was 50 miles away) and refused to switch to Bluetooth via a two second press of the power button.Help? 

I have a Roam and I use either my PC (Windows 11) or my phone (Android) to access it. I have my music on a WesternDigital MyBooklive (2TB) with the following path //mybooklive/public/music. It’s wired in to the router. For the first 9 months this all worked fine. I put the path details in the app, it indexed everything and all was good. Some months back it just stopped, saying that it can’t access the NAS. So I split the “music” folder thinking that it might be a size issue (despite only being 10,000 tracks) so that now I’ve got two locations with music. They are: //mybooklive/public/music (56gb)//mybooklive/public/roam (11gb) The Roam/S2 app can access the 11gb “roam” folder on the NAS no problem. But it can’t access the 56gn “music” folder. This suggests it isn’t an SMB issue. Following some research on here I’ve looked at everything using “MP3tag” and there were some entries that didn’t have ID3 tags, so I’ve deleted those and it all now looks good. I can’t seem to get Sonos working consistently.  After playing around with it for an hour or so each time, I can SOMETIMES get my Sonos Roam connected to my iPad. So frustrating and all the explanations on how to make it work are mind boggling. Does anyone have simple (underline simple) instructions on how to get them to work? Otherwise I’m shipping them back to Sonos collect and they can bin them!  

Hi there, I just bought a Sonos Port and while it works with my Sony STR-dh190, I need to understand how to power on the Amp’ through the Sonos App.    Is it a 12V cable that I need to connect the two together?   If so, what Port does it go into on my Amp?Thank you for any help! Tony 

This morning the SiriusXM alarms did not work.  When trying to browse the SiriusXM Canada channels it errors out with Sorry something went wrong please try again. I can get to a channel via Recently played. diagnostic # 1121686035 

I cannot use Bluetooth without connecting via WiFi and the app.For instance I go to Spotify, It doesn't appear in usable speakers, it only shows up in Spotify when I open the Sonos app, which obviously only works with WiFi and select a song to play.I can search for it via my Bluetooth connection on my phone (android) and it's listed as the Bluetooth address, not the name. If I select it from the list I just get a message saying an app is required to use it.It has only worked once and is now unusable as a portable speaker, what on earth is going wrong.

New to Sonos. 3 Rooms / 2 have TV’s / 2 Ceiling Speakers in each room (6 total) - all speaker wire leads to utility closet I purchased 3 amps (looks like I’ll be waiting awhile) for 3 zones to control music in each room. My question - I purchased 2 Ray sound bars to connect my TV audio to respective amps via wifi to play TV audio on respective ceiling speakers. Because all speaker wire leads to a utility closet I am unable to directly connect my TV/Ray sound bar to the amp. This should do the trick if I want to use ceiling speakers for TV audio correct?  Many thanks in advance.

I own a Sonos Move and have just purchased a Sonos Amp. I do not have any passive speakers setup with the Amp and these are the only 2 Sonos devices I have. I have the Sonos Amp successfully connected to my TV via HDMI ARC and I want to listen to the audio through the Move. As I understand, I need to group the devices but on the Sonos App, “Groups” is greyed out and says “This feature is available on systems with three or more rooms”. How do I get the TV audio to come out the Move in this setup?

Hello. I apologize for any ignorance. I’m new to the group. I'm purchasing 2 Sonos systems. Arc+Sub+Ones for two different rooms. My walls are open and I'm running various low voltage wires cat 6, hdmi etc. Down the road i may go with in wall or amp driven speakers. TV and arc mounted above fireplace. Blue Ray, Roku, Apple TV, Nintendo, Future Sonos Amp with be 20 feet across through room connected through cables in the wall, as well as cabling back to the network switch. I'm looking for insight/resources on the do's/don't in terms of wiring to be somewhat future proof and avoid any regrettable mistakes. Are there any really good threads here on this topic that could help? Also this will all be connected to 2 new Sony A80k or LG C2 TV’s if that matters. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You

I’d like to be able to have the MOVE permanently on the second floor of my house. The receiver is on an upper floor and I want to keep it there. I have only a turntable connected to the Onkyo. Will I be able to connect via Bluetooth or WiFi to the speaker? (The Onkyo has WiFi and Bluetooth capability). I didn’t find an answer to this question specifically in the Support and I apologize if I’m missing it. If I can’t connect in this scenario, what do I need to do? Thanks!

once i upgraded the OS of my linux box its SAMBA service is not recognized anymore by my Sonos connect:amp device - while the same setup worked just fine for years.  no browsing in the directory tree, no music library update, no playing of any music files, nor mp3 nor flac…the crucial difference i assume is in the SAMBA version, now at 4.15.5 which does not come anymore with the ancient SMB1/NT1 protocol the connect:amp relies on.  is there anybody out there that got the connect:amp work with a modern SAMBA version > 4.11 ?here a few elements in my smb.conf file that helped in the past to make this work :client min protocol = NT1server min protocol = NT1ntlm auth = ntlmv1-permittedfollow symlinks = yeswide links = yesunix extensions = noany help is greatly appreciated !

Hi,I bought 4 of One SL. My plan was to use them as a cafe music speakers. But as I am a franchisee, I need to use a designated music streamer with line out port. So I need to find a receiver getting line in input while sending wifi transmitting to my Sonos SL speakers. I know there's Sonos Port but it is way expensive for me. Can somebody recommend me an alternative for Sonos Port? Thanks. 

Trying to set up a second hand playbar on my sonos system. I use the s1 app, and did a factory reset / connected via ethernet to try and resolve.I can’t get past the error message:“Something went wrong: We ran into a problem checking the compatibility of your Playbar. Please try again or cancel”.I can’t find any reference to this error anywhere in the forums. Can anyone help? Has anyone experienced this?

Hi brought myself a ray works straight out of the box via the optical cable . my question is I’ve added to my app it’s found it but for some reason it’s not visible on the app I’ve tried switching it off then on but it’s not there I wanted to link it up to other speakers .can you do this with the ray ? that’s my next question can 2 play ones connect when listening to tv or not ? 

Hi all. I'm a complete technophobe but I have a sonos 1 that I love, and want to be able to listen to my TV at the kind of volume I can listen to music on my sonos 1. If I buy a sonos ray, can I pair/group it with my existing sonos 1, so I can listen to the TV through my sonos 1 in a different room and/or listen to the TV loud in one room by using both at the same time (or even by having them both in the same room but then just using the voluminous sonos 1, with sonos ray on silent)?

I have been streaming Absolute Radio for years and two days ago it stopped streaming.The error message is: “Unable to browse music - there was a problem connecting to Absolute Radio” Can anyone confirm this or is it just me? 

I downloaded above app to my IPad.  Went to Browse/clicked on YouTubeMusic.  Screen shows up says no selections are available.   How do I add a selection to you tube music part of the Sonos App?

I am trying to link my Soundcloud account to Sonos (since there is no appleplay feature with Soundcloud). When I go to authorize the Sonos use, i get an error message: ‘the link code you entered is not valid’ How do I get a link code and/or why am I receiving this message?

In all of my lists that I’ve created within my verified Google YouTube Music , there are always several songs that I cannot play because they appear greyed out.  And have this icon on the left of a circle with line through it. It only happens with certain songs and I can play those directly through youtyube music so the wrong answer is that the song is no longer available, I’ve removed and added again to verify thats not the case.

I noticed that when playing music over AirPlay 2, the connection would frequently disconnect. So I started timing it from the moment it connects to the moment it disconnects, and found it to be consistently 1 hour exactly.Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas what might be causing it?I strongly doubt that it’s due to wifi connectivity issues, because:it’s so consistent, and such a neat length of time, that it can’t be coincidence I have very few other devices on the 2.4ghz network (everything else is on 5ghz), so it’s not a crowded network, and the Arc has direct line of sight to the wifi routerThe only other info I’ve found on the internet is this ancient post from 2014: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6138924.
