Can't add voice assistant to Beam "Google Assistant is not available in your country" when Sonos account is already set to "US" and when already have a Beam with GA active
I think subject say it all. I can't add voice assistant to Sonos Move that I have recently purchased and added to my Sonos System. I keep getting a "Google Assistant is not available in your country"Now the strange thing is that I already had a Sonos Beam for a while now and I managed to add Google Assistant to it by setting my Sonos Account Country to “US”.The Sonos Beam Voice Google Assistant is working just fine, however, when I try to add it to the Beam I keep getting the error "Google Assistant is not available in your country". What else should I do? I’ve tried loggin in and out of the app, I cleared data/cache, I tried setting Sonos account country to UK, then back again to US, but nothing seems to work. Am I missing something? As I understood it one didn’t need to make any changes to the Google Account right?
I used to manage my chromecast using my voice via Google Assistant, for instance “ok google, put Chromecast on pause” ou “switch Chromcast off”. But now, the answer si “unfortunately living room is not compatible”. In french : “malheureusement salon n’est pas compatible”.Is that a change on sonos products ? I have a Sonos BEAM (not the latest generation). Thanks
When you ask for something that is streamed right back from assistant api and not from an app like Spotify you don't have control on Sonos va app but only the option to ask Google assistant to stop. Substantially when the playback of something like "hei google tell me the news" you'll notice the status of the player from the app or the exposed API as "nothing in play".Missing the option to stop it via any other external API but pressing the physical buttons or asking for "ok Google stop".For speech impaired and movement impaired people this is frustrating. Could you please add a status like "assistant engaged" and a stop button on API and APP?As the playing status is already there this shouldn't be too hard to implement.Thank you.
Verbally asking Google on my sonos arc to play music results in this response: "Sorry, it looks like you haven't set up Spotify Premium on your Sonos app. To play from Spotify Premium, link the same account on both Sonos and Google Assistant."I've tried looking at other posts but I haven't seen any working solutions. I've done exactly as Google said as well as reinstalling apps and reconnecting Spotify to Google assistant and to Sonos. But I still get the same message every time.
Hi, I’ve recently bought a Sonos One, and I have been using the Google Assistant to set my alarm for the morning as part of a routine command. It sets the alarm, but it is waaay to quiet for the alarm to actually work and wake me up. Is there a way to set the alarm volume (from the google home) independtly, or at least make it louder?
Hi all, I'm trying to activate voice match to my Sonos Beam unsuccessfully. It used to work before but it is not working anymore. Any commands issued by my wife google thinks came from me. I've deleted my home and started from scratch and I was able to see the Beam as a supported device for Personal information. However, only my google mini shows as a device for voice match. Anyone had a similar problem and was able to fix this? Thanks Rennan EDIT: Managed to fix it. I clicked on Add device with Voice Match. However, I was getting a weird error "No WiFi connection" as I was definitely connected to my WiFi. I decided to spam the Try again button and after a few tries the Sonos Beam was recognised. Don't know what is wrong with my account to constantly pop up the no WiFi message, but spamming the try again button did the trick over here.
Hey guysI’ve recently bought a Nest Doorbell (battery) but for some reason, I don’t get the Doorbell to send me a notification on any of my Sonos devices. Things I already tried:Re-linking the Google Assistant with Sonos (service) Re-linking Sonos speaker with Google Assistant (those are two different things in the apps) Factory reset my Sonos Beam (2)The Doorbell does give me a notification on my Google Home Mini in the bedroom but that’s not how I want my setup to be. I also had a chat with Google Support and they told me to ask Sonos because on their end, everything is working as it should, since I get notifications on my Google Home Mini. Pretty frustrating. And I did find another article on here but after trying all those solutions, still no result, which is why I’m writing this.
I’m using 2x Sonos One and Beam 2. All of them are using Wi-Fi 5GHz via the Unify AP. The apartment is small (<50 sqm) and the network is usually stable. All the devices are updated to their latest firmware versions. However, couple times a day when I say “Ok Google” or “Hey Google” the Sonos speakers immediately answer with “Sorry, there was a glitch”. Then if I repeat myself, assistant is able to process the query. What can I do to help you diagnose the problem? I’ve already submitted the diagnostic information via the app. Is there anything else I can do?
Why can't I play music on Sonos groups with my voice with the Google Assistant? It is ridiculous to pay so much money on Sonos devices, if I can't even play music on a music group with the Google assistant!Sonos is a multi room system, but one of the key features ist not Support by the Google assistant. And don't blame Google on this, you could easily sync the groups as separate devices into the Google home app.
I listen to my music through Sonos speakers and use Google assistant on hubs to voice control these.Up until this week BBC radio was available on TuneIn the radio app which Sonos used to radio stations. This now doesn't work which is fine as it advised I linked BBC sounds . I can listen to the BBC through the Sonos app all good. Problem is if I ask assistant to play BBC radio 1 on sonos the reply is " playing BBC radio 1 from tune in " this results in silence . I've deleted TuneIn from Sonos and it's still doing it. Even if I use the command "play BBC radio 1 from BBC" it either doesn't understand or just gives the same playing from TuneIn reply. It also does it for all stations like radio X or heart . What command can I use or change stop assistant using TuneIn ?Thanks sarah
So having stopped UK listeners accessing radio stations from abroad, the ongoing legal wrangle for TuneIn now means it’s dropping access to internet radio stations. I don’t know the extent of the takedowns but at least 2 stations I listen too regularly are now not available. While I know there are workarounds my biggest concern is that these don’t work via Google Assistant because TuneIn is the default service. So with the loss of non-UK radio stations, plus the new takedowns of internet streams and the on-going absence of BBC radio services, TuneIn is becoming unfit for purpose in the UK on Sonos with Google as the voice assistant. Is there a solution in the pipeline that would allow UK listeners to access other radio stream providers with Google, or to allow people to set a default other than TuneIn? The current situation means that there’s an increasing number of services that are just unavailable via voice control.
Hello, my Sonos system worked well with Google Assistant for years. I use roam and beam for voice control. All my Sonos products are shown in Google Home, while lately when I ask Google Assistant to play music on any named Sonos player, it just replies "the mode is not available". I have tried restart wifi router, reset Sonos system, re-connect Google assistant, nothing works. Any help is very much welcomed.
Hi, was hoping someone could help me out. I’ve just purchased a Sonos Roam and have a few issues. My existing setup is only very basic with a google home and several google tv devices, all running on the same network. The Sonos Roam is my first Sonos purchase. Firstly I can’t install google voice control on the Roam. I follow the steps on the Sonos app to add a voice assistant, and when it opens the google assistant app to look for devices, it can’t see the Roam. After looking for devices it fails and says to ensure WiFi is on and that your iPhone and assistant devices are on the same network. WiFi is definitely on and everything is on the same network. Also, I can’t get the Google home to see the Roam and stream to it. When I open the Google home app the Roam is listed under devices along with my other google products, and says it is linked, but when I select media on the app the Roam isn’t listed. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi all,It seems like our Sonos Roam is only remembering one voice match profile - The latest one added. We can add an extra voice match profile using Google Assistant on our IPhone or android tablet, and it works temporarily - The Sonos Roam recognises and can identity both voices. However, after a while, it seems to forget one of the users and only retains the latest voice match profile added via Google assistant. This is an issue, as only one user can utilise the personal results features of Google assistant - For example, adding items to a shared grocery list on Anylist or Google Shopping Lists.I think it might be forgetting the second voice profile when the Sonos Roam is powered off using a 5 second press. Anyone else have this issue? ThanksJW
I have a stereo pair of nest audios in the living room and i’m thinking of upgrading to either a pair of google home max or sonos 5. I was leaning towards sonos since its not a discontinued product and in future i’ll be able to add more speakers for home cinema etc. i was thinking i’d be keep a nest audio to voice control the sonos, glad i found this forum to check! as i understand it i won’t be able to voice control a stereo pair for playing music, changing volume etc and it all has to be done by phone or physically? and simple things like setting an alarm doesn’t work at all even if it wasn’t a stereo pair?
In the last week my Sonos One stereo pair running Google Assistant has started giving me this message frequently when I request to play, pause, resume or stop something. Sometimes it’s stuck on this error - I can ask it repeatedly and keep getting the same response. That’s very annoying when it’s playing a stream and I’m telling it to STOP!!!Google Assistant itself is not affected as far as commands not involving Sonos streaming - it only affects media streams starting or stopping. The Sonos app is unaffected. Even when GA is refusing to start or stop a music stream repeatedly because “Sonos is not available”, the Sonos app has no problem doing it, and correctly shows the streaming status of the speaker.I can also ask my nearby Echo Dot to play or stop music on Sonos, and it works fine.So which side is at fault here, Google or Sonos? At one point I tried unplugging and replugging the primary Sonos One speaker of the pair. When it came back up, it would only flash red when I said a “Hey G
I had a problem with Google Assistant on my Sonos One and Beam. I was unable to play Pandora Music on my Sonos by saying ‘Hey Google….’. My Sonos App was working and if I used the App, I could play my music. However, If I said, ‘Hey Google, Play Beatles Radio on Pandora’, the reply would be, ‘Sure, Playing Beatles Radio on Pandora’. This was immediately followed by, ‘Sorry, Something Went Wrong’. Previously, I had no issues. Now, every time I tried, I got the same reply. So, I did the following:Restart Google Wi-Fi NetworkFactory reset of Google Wi-Fi NetworkRe-installed all of my Sonos productsRe-installed Google Assistant on my Sonos productsI repeated the following several times over a period of 2 weeks.I contacted the Chat function of Sonos and they had me uninstall and reinstall Google Assistant. Google Assistant worked fine, with the exception of the request to play Music. I was given a ticket number and told to call the following day (I chatted on Sunday, the technicians
If I set an alarm with Google Assistant on the Sonos One, will the alarm show in the Sonos app? Also, if I set an alarm with the Sonos app, is Google Assistant aware of it? I’m trying to troubleshoot alarm problems and right now, the Google Assistant and the app don’t seem to be aware of the other’s actions. Thanks.
