Set One as default music speaker option not available in Google home
I want my Sonos One to be the default music speaker when I say a command like “play rock music” or when it’s already playing “play the next song” without having to mention which speaker. I don't have the option in the home app that's mentioned in other threads.
Google telling me Spotify Premium isn't available
I have a Spotify Premium family plan and have multiple Spotify accounts linked to Sonos. I also have Google Assistant linked to each of those accounts and Voice Match set up. It all works fine except for my wife; every time she asks the Sonos speaker to play music, the speaker responds saying something like “got it, playing blah blah blah on Spotify” and then: Sorry, it looks like Spotify Premium isn’t currently available. Please try again later. This does NOT occur with Google speakers in the home. When she asks the Sonos speaker “who am I” it tells her her name just fine, so I know Voice Match is working. And I can ask it myself to play music without a problem.I’ve tried:factory reset speaker unlink and re-link Spotify from Sonos unlink the Sonos speaker from Google and re-link it remove Google and Sonos permissions from Spotify in the web UI and relinking everything doing all of the above but with an Android device instead of iOS checking to make sure there’s only one Google Home ch
how do i stop google assistant using tunein
I listen to my music through Sonos speakers and use Google assistant on hubs to voice control these.Up until this week BBC radio was available on TuneIn the radio app which Sonos used to radio stations. This now doesn't work which is fine as it advised I linked BBC sounds . I can listen to the BBC through the Sonos app all good. Problem is if I ask assistant to play BBC radio 1 on sonos the reply is " playing BBC radio 1 from tune in " this results in silence . I've deleted TuneIn from Sonos and it's still doing it. Even if I use the command "play BBC radio 1 from BBC" it either doesn't understand or just gives the same playing from TuneIn reply. It also does it for all stations like radio X or heart . What command can I use or change stop assistant using TuneIn ?Thanks sarah
Sonos can't find Hue Bridge anymore with Google Assistant
Since a couple of days, my Sonos Beam (Gen2) and/or Move keep saying they can’t ‘reach Philips Hue’, when I use voice commands via the Google Assistant. This used to work fine previously. The problem seems to be related to ‘scenes’, because a more simple command as ‘Turn of all the light’ still works. Maybe something went wrong with the most recent software update from last week, or so?Thanks in advance for all the input!Michel
Unable to turn on/off TV through voice command (chromecast)
Hi I have a weird issue. For years I have been able to turn on/off my TV through voice command using google assistant on my Sonos One. Suddenly this has stopped working, and the google assistant in Sonos says “Sorry unknown error has occured on [name of my chromecast]” (this error might not be precise, I have translated it from my native language). I am able to for example pause/unpause the chromecast using voice command. If if say the exact same turn on/off command using the Assistant app on my phone the TV turns on/off. I have tried unlinking/removing my assistant both in Google Home app, and in the Sonos. Linked it again, and went through the setup process, but the same error occurs. I have also tried renaming my Chromecast (found that advice in a similar thread), but same result. Both my Sonos One and Chromecast has newest firmware. If i go to https://myactivity.google.com/ and filter on assistant, I can see the command, and here it also says that unknown error has occured. Anyone
Trigger Google Assistant to play music (on NAS or uploaded on free YouTube Music) on Sonos
PROBLEM: When I ask to Google Assistant to play some song uploaded on my free YouTube Music account or on my local NAS it can’t.STEP by STEP action:I have only one Google Account on my Android Device.First of all I set up Google Assistant to control Sonos throught my Google Account (on my Android Device). Then I connected my free YouTubeMusic account to Sonos App and I set YouTube Music as my preferred service on my Android Device. Then I uploaded some songs on my YoutubeMusic account. If I ask “Ok Google play porcelain of Moby on Sonos” it reply “Ok I’ll play porcelain of Moby from YoutubeMusic on Sonos…. I’m sorry the content is not available on Sonos”.I also tried to remove the YoutubeMusic Account from the Sonos App then I uploaded some songs on my NAS and paired Sonos App with NAS (I can see it on my Music Library on Sonos App). So I asked “Ok Google play porcelain of Moby on Sonos” then Google assistant reply “Ok I’ll play porcelain of Moby from YouTubeMusic on Sonos… I’m sorry I c

No Google Assistant on Era 100/300 - support for existing speakers
So the Sonos Era 100 and 300 have been officially announced - without support for Google Assistant. The following article from The Verge (https://www.theverge.com/23627044/sonos-era-300-100-announced-price-features-hands-on) mentions this: ‘Sonos says this is due to changes that Google has implemented for companies that want to run the voice service on third-party hardware. Patrick Spence claims it’s unrelated to the ongoing legal battle between the two companies and insists Assistant is now more of a “heavy engineering lift” than it was before. “Right now, we don’t see it being worth the effort. We hope Google will take another path that will allow us to continue to offer it in more of a lightweight manner the way we do today.”’Does this mean that those new speakers cannot be controlled by an additional Google Nest speaker either via the Google Home integration? And will this lack of Google Assistant support eventually affect owners of existing Sonos devices, such as the Sonos One/Move
Can't broadcast to Sonos One with Google Assistant
Hey everyone, I have a new Sonos One that works great aside from this issue I am having with Google Home/Assistant integration. When I try to broadcast a message to the Sonos One located in the bedroom (either through the Assistant app or via voice command to my Google Nest Mini, which is in a different room), I get an error that there is “nothing named X in your account”, or something to that effect, so the message is unable to be broadcast. This happens regardless of whether I try to broadcast to the room (“Main Bedroom”) or to the device itself (“Main Bedroom speaker”), confirming the exact name of the room and speaker, respectively. Other Assistant features seem to be working fine; for instance, I can make commands from the Sonos One using “Hey Google” and play music on the Sonos One with a voice command from the Nest Mini. There are several old threads on this issue, all of which seem to point to this sequence in the Sonos app as a solution: Settings>Room Settings>(Select R
Deliberate fraudulent marketing by Sonos.
It is UNACCEPTABLE that you are marketing Sonos Roam speakers with GOOGLE VOICE ASSISTANT and ALEXA when you do not support it in Poland. The Roam should not be sold in this market as you are misleading customers with your translated user guide, indicating it can work. Only to figure out, by digging deeper on the website that it does not.Can I ask you Sonos, why you are selling the Roam in Poland, when you are fully aware that the only product that should be on sale is the Roam SL?As for the laziness of not adding voice support with English is beyond me. Next of, except for the fraudulent behavior against your own customers, this practice is exceptionally fraudulent against your competitors. They are not advertising their products with features they do not deliver. As a company you have lost all integrity as it is quite clear you do this deliberately. Fortunately I am in a position to advice quite many people on consumer products, needless to say, your brand will forever stay in the bla
Sonos Move can’t connect to Google Assistant, device not found
I have tried resetting multiple times, reinstalling all my apps and also a factory reset on my Sonos move. I verified it is connected to the same network as my phone and while I know there is a connection between my phone and the sonos device it still will not install google voice it goes through the steps and when it looks for the device it says not found.
Google assistant on Sonos one needs to know device to play on
All ot the sudden. One of my Sonos one devices no longer plays music when I ask it to on the Google Assistant. It says I must tell it what device to play it on. It never did this before and it's obviously kind of stupid since it is obviously the device I want to play it on. I thought the fix would be to pair the Sonos one as its own speaker but I can't find that option in Google home. I can for other rooms where I have legacy Sonos devices paired with Google home devices. But when it's all integrated in one thing I can't seem to figure out how to make it default to playing on itself anymore?
apple music on sonos move with google assitant not working
I added google assistant as voice control in sonos and this works fine. I added Apple Music as music service in sonos and that works fine selecting music through the sonos app.I set Apple Music as preferred music service in google assistant.I get an error when asking music through voice control. First there is confirmation of the command to play the song through Apple Music but then it states that this is not supported.this Sames a pretty basic action, why is this not working?
Using Sonos as Doorbell Chime with Google Nest Doorbell or Similar
The web is awash with all sorts of answers to similar questions, some with answers two or three years old which might as well be written on papyrus for all their relevancy to today. So let me ask my own. Here’s what I have now:1 Google Nest Wifi Router 1 Sonos 1 speaker 1 crummy old wired doorbell chimeWith these I can play music through my IPhone on the speaker via Nest WiFi, to which the speaker is connected. I can, sometimes, hear the crummy doorbell ring. Now I want to add an electronic doorbell/camera to this mix.I am looking at the Google Nest Wired doorbell. Wired, so I don’t have to mess with batteries. I could care less if the existing chime worked. I could even disconnect the chime itself, since it isn’t always loud enough. I want the signal from the bell to connect to the Nest Router and from there to the Sonos speaker and chime over the speaker. I see a lot of content saying you can get the doorbell to ring through a Google speaker but I don’t want to buy another speaker jus
Cannot add Google Assistant to Sonos
I’ve been trying to add the ability to control my Sonos system with Google Assistant. In the Sono2 app, I go to “Service & Voice”, then select “+ Add a third-party smart device to control Sonos”. I then get the option of either Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. When I choose Google Assistant, I get the following screen: It doesn’t let me add any functionality in the app itself. I have followed this instructions on Google Assistant but it doesn’t work. I spent a long time on the phone with Sonos Technical Support but they couldn’t solve this. Anyone get past this issue? Thank you
Although the wife is unable to order music by voice, other things do.
We have a number of Sonos speakers, three of which use Google voice search. We each have our own Spotify user profiles and Google Assistant accounts, including my wife. For both of us, Google complies with commands to do things like switch on lights, and if we ask it "Who am I," it knows each of us by name. But for me, it only functions when I request music. It indicates that it doesn't understand for my wife. Using her Spotify app, she can effectively send music to Sonos, but voice commands are ineffective.
Wife can't request music by voice, but other things work by voice
We have several Sonos speakers, 3 of which have voice, using Google. My wife and I each have Google Assistant and our own Spotify user profiles. For both of us, Google obeys commands for things such as turning on lights, and it recognizes each of us by name if we ask “Who am I”. However, it only works for me when asking for music. For my wife, it says it doesn’t understand. She successfully sends music to Sonos using her Spotify app, but using voice doesn’t work.Any suggestions?
