Sonos Sub has died - PCB board component responsible found - Assistance required
Hi, My Sonos black Sub has died - after opening up the unit, taking out the pcb board and inspecting and testing components, the responsible pcb board component that has failed has been located. Is there someone who has disassembled their sub before, please share the details and/or a clear photo of the component labelled as R 37 on the Main PCB board please so I can source a replacement. Multichannel PCM 5.1 dropping out since 14.10 update
Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Multichannel PCM 5.1 blanks out for a second every 1-2 minutes. I don’t think it’s a bandwidth issue as it works flawlessly with Multichannel PCM 7.1 (thorough test) and Dolby TrueHD Atmos (quick test). And it may have been caused by the Sonos 14.10 update. Setup is PS5→ LG C1→ Beam 2 (via earc). 2 weeks ago before the 14.10 update, I watched a bluray film wherein I had my PS5 transcode the DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio to Multichannel PCM 5.1 (as the C1 does not support DTS) and had no issues. Earlier today, I played a bluray film for the first time in 2 weeks and I encountered consistent audio dropouts every 1-2 minutes. It had the same setup where DTS-HD MA 5.1 → Multichannel PCM 5.1. I tested other bluray discs including the one I watched 2 weeks ago and they all now have the same issue. Curiously, I’ve been gaming heavily on my PS5 the past two 2 weeks and haven’t had any audio issues. Then I realized that I’ve been using Multichannel PCM 7.1 when ga
In the last month or so - the Android App no longer shows what is playing if started via Alexa
For a year or so, I’ve had no problems asking Alexa to play ‘My Soundtrack’ or anything else. I could look at my phone and using the Android App skip etc, now I can only pause, and I can’t see the track. If I start the music from the Sonos App - all works as expected - but - that kind of removes the point of using Alexa in the first place. I’ve tried removing/readding the skill, doing all the usual unplugging etc Anything else I can/should try?

Out of a sudden no Genres, Titles etc. anymore. On Win 10 PC as well as on iPad. The NAS is still seen by my Win 10 PC and a playlist plays.Seems like the whole index is lost. No idea why, as I had changed nothing, no tracks added or deleted, no nothing. Also in the PC controller I can’t select a new indexing, as it is greyed out.Solution: deinstalled S2 completely, downloaded and installed it again, as admin and allowing firewall configuration (which I most probably had done the last time before also). Then I was allowed to index and after this was finished, Tataaa! Works. Question is for how long, because a few weeks ago I probably went through this already, as downloaded S2 install exe’s date tells me. This time I made a record of this.
Sonos Arc - Metallic Sound
Hi All. It’s a relief that Sonos has identified the bug that’s causing the bass distortion in Sonos Arc. Thank you @Ryan S for working with the Sonos Communty to identify the problem quickly. Having said this, I believe that Sonos still needs more work to make the Arc sound as it was advertised. Currently, multiple people on Reddit including myself are reporting the highs being too high which sort of feels “harsh”. This improve the speech clarity and brings out details in the movies, but the warmth in speech is lost because the voices sound thin and metallic (for eg. actors I know having heavy voices don’t sound heavy). I was expecting the mid-range to be a lot better considering the Arc has 8 woofers. I have tried TruPlaying twice without success (Turning TruPlay off produces muffled sound). Adjusting the treble also did not help much. Loudness turned on and off does not make a big difference either. May be, this is how the Arc is tuned?! Anyone else feels that Arc is over-empha
S2 App “quits unexpectedly” on start up
I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the S2 app, rebooting my MacBook Pro and the router and NOTHING WORKS!! I keep getting the same error message that sonos quit unexpectedly. Sonos has been working with occasional crashes but now, I can’t even open the app. Please help!
why so many updates
I don’t use Sonos every day. But on the weekends it’s nice to use. Unfortunately the constant requirement for updates forces me to stop what I’m doing, update my computer, update my mobile device, often restart my computer and device, sometimes unplug sonos or my router to reset. It’s become so burdensome that Sonos is no longer a usable device. This has been going on for years without any signs of improvement. Sorry, no longer will I be a Sonos user
Can Sonos Work with This
Hello all I moved into a house that has speakers in the ceiling in most of the rooms (about 7 rooms?) - there is a CD player and DAB hooked up but I can’t see an amp. The below is what’s there.If I replaced the CD or DAB with a Sonos Port, would that work?I understand that each room can’t be isolated with one product but I should be able to say set all downstairs speakers to the Port input.Any help appreciated.
Era 300 build quality
Hey everyone,I saw this was partially covered on a previous thread, but since that was a couple of months ago I started a new one.Received my Era 300 about an hour ago today, and the back is not uniform at all, with a much bigger gap on the back plate on the top right hand side.This is very noticeable too, and whilst I appreciate this is not a new issue I am a little surprised it is still happening nearly 2 months after it was first reported.Called support and whilst on the phone to them I also noticed the grill at the top right has a similar gap, which you can push in, only to come back out a few minutes later.Support reassured me the next one should be good, but really, how can they promise this? Do they have a “good” batch and a “bad” batch?Lugging this box all the way to the pick up point tomorrow and hoping for the best.A bit of a fiasco, especially when I will be away soon and likely to take ages swapping the speakers but there you go.Whilst we are at it, any news on the front dr
Feature Request - Dynamic island
Feature Request in regards to dynamic island. Currently, for iOS users you must open the Sonos app directly in order to navigate any controls. Allowing access to dynamic will provide minutes saved to use the control settings. This can include skip to next track, go back a track, grouping of speakers, change playlist or services being used. There are often times I need to pause quickly and I have to go through the standalone Sonos app to turn off. Just a thought for us iOS users.
"on this mobile device" no longer showing
I store my music on a micro SD card in MP3 format that is within my phone. Until today I have been able to open the Sonos app and within browse, select the "on this mobile device" option which then opens the micro SD folder and enables me to play my music through my 4 Sonos Play:1 speakers. Today, the "on this mobile device" option does not come up, so I am unable to access and play my music. I have changed nothing. Subsequently I have done an update, restarted my phone several times and restarted the Sonos system several times, but it's still not showing. Can anyone shed any light on this and help me get my music playing on my Sonos speakers again? I'm very frustrated! Thank you!
Crossfade issues on playlist
Is anyone experiencing issues with crossfading on playlists. Random songs will play for around 10 seconds and then skip to next song. This happens in different rooms when using either Macbook or IPhone. Streaming service is spotify.If so is there a fix or do I need to wait for a bug fix update ?
DTS is returning
Dear Sonos,It's time to support al DTS formats. DTS support is returning to TVs, for example with the lg g3 en c3. Watching 4k movies on Blu Ray is just amazing with the Sonos surround set and Dolby Atmos (arc+era300+sub). But many of the best films, like the Christopher Nolan films, use DTS and not dolby. So please, update the system:).
How to fix Apple 4K TV remote not controlling Sonos soundbar
This issue has been driving me INSANE for weeks and finally I found the answer on YouTube: Simply hold the input and volume down button on your Apple TV 4K remote for about 5 seconds and 🪄🧙♂️ …issue fixed!!!! Your Apple Remote will now control your Sonos sound bar volume again.
Before I buy - advice using a FIVE, a ONE and an ONE SL
HiFor playing music in a large kitchen diner (parties and high-quality listening) I’m considering buying a FIVE to sit on a shelf central on the long wall, then put a ONE SL and a ONE at the extreme sides of the room to create a wider sound field in the room (without the expense of 2x FIVES). (Note: I thought a ONE would be useful as it will have a mic for smart speaker purposes).Question: Can I set the ONE and ONE SL as a stereo pair, and have the FIVE playing in stereo to get this wide sound field?Would this work?
Beam Gen 2 very low Speech volume
Just got Beam gen 2, the effects and music is okay but the speech volume is very low when it comes to atmosUsing eARC.The LG Nano956NA speakers ( speech ) sounds much better than arc at volume level 20 - 30 while Beam sound 50 to 80.I m android user so dont have that trueplay options.I tried loudness enabled and disabled didnt see much difference,Speech enhancement is enabled.Bar is in bedroom so not even in a open space. Sadly i can only use TV spakers and HDMI arc individually to use tv speakers i need to switch sound bar ro optical digial out adapterAny suggestions what i m doing wrong ?
Unsolicited advertising when using Sonos SW
I don’t think iti is fair to impose to the buyers of sonos speakers unsolicited advertising.It isn’t consistent with the idea that we have bought top of the line speakers.It isn’t consistent with proper customer care and… have you listened to the ads?In German and Italian they are unbelievably primitive. Truly ugly stuff.I don’t think it is a money spinner for sonos. Just a stupid embarassment.
Roam is UTTER s***e
Big Sonos fanboy me, got loads of them all over the house. Bought a Roam for outside and in the bathroom. Utter UTTER S***E in every single way you can think of. S***e on/off/Bluetooth button and s***e indicator lights and s***e sound and S***E connecting issues. Utter UTTER S***E! Had it well over a year and hate the f*****g thing with a passion.
