Feature Request in regards to dynamic island. Currently, for iOS users you must open the Sonos app directly in order to navigate any controls. Allowing access to dynamic will provide minutes saved to use the control settings. This can include skip to next track, go back a track, grouping of speakers, change playlist or services being used. There are often times I need to pause quickly and I have to go through the standalone Sonos app to turn off. Just a thought for us iOS users.
HIMesh Networks do work with Sonos as long as you choose components designed to work as a Mesh. Let me explain….The PRIMARY function of a Mesh network is to extend the coverage of your Wi-Fi across your home wherein a single router fails to do so. A Mesh network properly configured should consist of a Primary Router (Main Node) connected to your ISP modem. If the ISP modem is a combo router/modem then it should be set to Bridge mode. The device or devices used to extend the network are called Satellites (Secondary Nodes). The nodes used to extend the network should be of the same brand/model designed to work as such for the best performance. The secondary nodes can be full blown routers themselves; but when used as secondary nodes cease to function in the same manner as the Main node. Devices of a different brand/model can be used as secondary nodes as long as they are certified for compatibility to be used as such with the brand of your Primary router/Main node. Think oranges and tange
So I'm curious if anyone else lost Dolby Atmos ONLY in Prine Video after the 15.10 update? I have spent time wirh Prime and they claim nothing has changed on their end with the content or Apple TV 4k app, but I can play Dolby Atmos on every other service (apple TV 4k, Netflix, Paramount. Etc). Yet after the update all the content on Prime labeled Atmos is being played as multichannel 5.1. Anyone else experiencing this?
If your Sonos Arc and LG TV are not playing Dolby Digital Atmos, go to All Settings on your TV, then Sound, then Advanced Settings. On the respective input (e.g., HDMI 1) change it from the default PCM to BitstreamWhile you’re still on the screen in your Firestick setting screen for Audio and Video Diagnostics, you should see all the Dolby capabilities immediately change from No to Yes.
My Playbar randomly cuts out. Internet signal is strong, but it happens with both Google Mesh and Eero mesh. I moved it from my upstairs to my basement and it seemed to work fine. Moved it back upstairs and it worked fine for a bit and then started cutting out again. Note that all areas of my house are on the same channel, so it’s not like moving from upstairs to downstairs should’ve changed anything.Neither the google mesh or Eero can change channels. The Eero automatically chooses the least cluttered channels, so this shouldn’t be an issue.I have four Sonos speakers on my upstairs floor - 3 play:1s and 1 Playbar. The former work fine and never skip. The latter will skip even though it’s only about 8 feet from the surrounds that do not. I could try to create a Sonosnet but CS told me that wouldn’t help because I’d need at least three wired devices. The only Sonos I can reasonably wire is one on my main floor since that is where the internet comes in. The eero hubs don’t have Ethernet
The S1 app which is used for the old Play 5 gen 1 says "unable to connect to Sonos". I think it's to do with the TP link deco M5 mesh system I installed recently. I can reconnect by switching the router off and on, but it never lasts and the next time I open the app the speaker is gone again. If someone could help in step by step idiot proof terms I'd be eternally grateful. TIA
When I start up the Android app it keeps showing the queue screen which is empty. It does this if the room that is playing is showing full screen but not if the playing is minimised and showing the rooms instead - hopefully that makes sense. So if I close the app with the playing showing full screen, it will open full screen the next time and immediately shows the empty queue. If I close the app showing the rooms with the playing part minimised, it doesn’t open the queue screen when I start up the app but as soon as I maximise the playing part of it, it shows the queue screen. There’s nothing in the queue and I just mainly listen to Planet Rock Radio which is still showing in the playing part when I start the app up.The queue has been empty for many months and I’ve not used it for many months apart from having to keep close it when it opens by itself.
Sonos skill WAS enabled in Alexa but don’t recall any account linking taking placeSo following suggestion's found on here I have subsequently Disabled the Sonos skill and re-Enabled itThat triggers the re linking, prompted to sign into Sonos account, now says accounts are linked closing that screen, next screen is search for device But reports “Alexa couldn’t find a new device to connect”Asks if I can control device using Sonos app - Yes I can - it tries to connect again - fails again and again Found the suggestion on here about changing the Sonos Play:1 name and going thru whole process again - still no joy ( tried multiple names/times ) Any other suggestions please ? Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Multichannel PCM 5.1 blanks out for a second every 1-2 minutes. I don’t think it’s a bandwidth issue as it works flawlessly with Multichannel PCM 7.1 (thorough test) and Dolby TrueHD Atmos (quick test). And it may have been caused by the Sonos 14.10 update. Setup is PS5→ LG C1→ Beam 2 (via earc). 2 weeks ago before the 14.10 update, I watched a bluray film wherein I had my PS5 transcode the DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio to Multichannel PCM 5.1 (as the C1 does not support DTS) and had no issues. Earlier today, I played a bluray film for the first time in 2 weeks and I encountered consistent audio dropouts every 1-2 minutes. It had the same setup where DTS-HD MA 5.1 → Multichannel PCM 5.1. I tested other bluray discs including the one I watched 2 weeks ago and they all now have the same issue. Curiously, I’ve been gaming heavily on my PS5 the past two 2 weeks and haven’t had any audio issues. Then I realized that I’ve been using Multichannel PCM 7.1 when ga
Hello,I recently purchased the ultimate Sonos setup: The Arc, two Era 300’s and Gen 3 sub.I am very satisfied with my purchase! The system sounds amazing, movies in Atmos are incredibly immersive even at lower volume and music in Atmos is an audiophile’s dream! The only situation that I think that system isn't maximized is listening to regular music in stereo.the powerful Era 300’s would sound so much better paired by themselves with the sub. the problem is that there isn't a way to create a pairing preset. One for viewing movies and listening to Atmos content and the other for listening to regular stereo music.I assume the reason being it takes a minute or two to pair the speakers due to the handshake process over WiFi. I don't mind waiting a minute to switch between presets but I won't do it now because of the extra steps needed to remove and add speakers. If you have the same setup, what are your thoughts on the subject? Is it a worthy feature request?
Hi, new Sonos enthusiast here, I never owned Sonos products before so I have no experience of any of them - yet!I’m looking for a setup for my medium living room + open kitchen, I’d say about 25m².This will be for music only, no home theater, no podcast No specific type of music I listen to a lot of different genres, so I mostly need a good balance, but I don’t want weak bass either I don’t need a lot of power though as I’m in an apartment and my neighbors won’t let me forget about them lolI’ve ruled-out the Era 300 as I don’t need Dolby + not really suited to my use-case because I need my music to fill a room where I’ll be moving a lot.So it comes down to either two Era 100, or one single Five (I don’t have the budget for two).Which would you recommend, and why? Thanks!
I don’t use Sonos every day. But on the weekends it’s nice to use. Unfortunately the constant requirement for updates forces me to stop what I’m doing, update my computer, update my mobile device, often restart my computer and device, sometimes unplug sonos or my router to reset. It’s become so burdensome that Sonos is no longer a usable device. This has been going on for years without any signs of improvement. Sorry, no longer will I be a Sonos user
HiI currently have a Playbar, Play:5 (Gen 2) stereo pair and Sub (Gen 2) in my TV room plus a single Play: 3 in my study. I am wanting to add speakers to my kitchen dining room which is medium size. Can I add a second stereo pair of Play:5 (Gen 2) to my system and should I get a second sub? The music quality is more important to me than the TV and movies, hence I don’t think moving the speakers to the kitchen diner and updating the TV room to Arc plus compatible speakers. I don’t watch action type movies, more Romcoms so I think the Atmos might be wasted on me. Happy to be corrected on this though 😊
Bonjour La commu. Je cherche pour une salle de restauration de 90 M2 de forme rectangulaire 3m20 de plafond un système sans fil batterie. Quels modèles me conseillez-vous?Pour connecter téléphone/Ordinateur/tablette ou commande vocal si cela est possible. Merci beaucoup pour votre aide.
This issue has been driving me INSANE for weeks and finally I found the answer on YouTube: Simply hold the input and volume down button on your Apple TV 4K remote for about 5 seconds and 🪄🧙♂️ …issue fixed!!!! Your Apple Remote will now control your Sonos sound bar volume again.
There appears to be no setting to disable sound effects for touch controls on the Move so when adjusting the volume of the output, you get a disturbing beep for each tap. The volume of the beep is tied to the volume of the device so the louder the volume, the louder the beep which is distracting given that it plays over the intended audio. There are a couple of closed posts on this topic from >1y ago (indicating that this also affects other products than the Move) with an answer that says Sonos will refer it to their engineers. Sonos, can something be done about this seemingly pointless (to me) function to at least handover control of it to the user?
Bonne journée Moderation edit: Translation by Google TranslateGood morningLet's imagine a 40m² room with the TV + arc at the far left.In this same room 2 Era 100 at the very back on the right, 10m away.A table in the middle. Is there any point in using surround mode (arc+2sonos) knowing that most of the time we listen to music in the room? Currently I like to push the sound more to one side than the other depending on where I am.Thank you for your advice, tips, etc.Good day
BackgroundIf you look through my comments in this forum you will see that I am a big fan of the original Sonos Move. I have a stereo pair and, when set up in the garden, are my favourite speakers. I have a garden room with Two 300s and a sub, which is the best sounding but not portable, nor outdoors. The outdoor listening experience, weather permitting, is great and different and with the two Moves, is my favourite way to listen to music.Move 2 PurchaseSo the Move 2 was announced. Double the battery life and stereo sound from a single unit. So with an upgrade voucher burning a hole in my wallet I decided to upgrade. The Move 1s will always get a decent 2nd hand price. One of the major reasons was the 24hr battery life, anything else would be a plus.Reading through all the reviews, some mentioned better sound and the stereo capabilities of course, but most focused on the extra battery life, touch controls, changes to the charging brick, Bluetooth changes and the line in capability. What
Hi,We want to gather some details from people experiencing issues with playback of 7.1 LPCM audio streams on a Sonos Arc or Beam (Generation 2), via an LG television set. Specifically, when channels are playing from the wrong speakers - for example, but not limited to, if you hear dialogue only coming from the rear speakers, consistently. If you have experienced this channel mis-mapping, please provide, in this thread, the following details:Your LG TV model numberYour media source device name and model number or TV app that the issue was noticed on, and the name of the movie/show that was affectedModels of any other HDMI devices connected to the TV (if applicable)The confirmation number of a Sonos system diagnostic submitted while the affected media was playing and 7.1 LPCM was reported in the Sonos app.Thank you for your assistance.
I Currently have a projector that connects to an Xbox X and PS5. All the electronics are behind the projector about 15 feet away from the screen. Getting a HDMI from the PS5 all the way around the walls to plug into a soundbar isn’t really an option. I’m looking at the Arc bar, two surrounds and a sub. What would the easiest way to connect all this up with running a 50 foot hdmi cable to the soundbar?
