I discovered that the sound is way better this way than when playing music through Sonos or Apple Music app on my iPhone. But I’m having an issue. After a while some albums stop playing through Sonos Ones and play through Arc/Sub only. In other words surround sound is being dropped for some reason. After restarting Apple Music app everything is back to normal, but the issue is back after listening to a couple of albums.I’m having Atmos enabled. All devices have the latest firmware updates.Any ideas what the issue might be?
I was playing on my Xbox when the arc suddenly made an extremely loud pop sound and then lost audio completely. The app wouldn’t let me adjust the volume and Alexa wake up didn’t emit its usual tone. I had to remove the power from the arc and reapply which resumed the audio. I’m concerned that one of the speakers in the arc may have been damaged when this happened. Has anyone had this issue? We have had no issues with the arc since purchasing it earlier this year.
Hello!Allow me to start mentioning that I am aware of similar threads in the community (this forum and reddit) but none of the proposed solutions worked for me. :(I have been using ARC for over a year without any issue. I recently added a Sub (gen3) and the result is somewhat disappointing: The sub is too quiet. Less than volume 10 I cannot tell the difference it makes, and even at +15 it is not impressive. My setup:LG OLED CXArc connected via HDMI 2 (earc enabled, bitstream, passthrough)I have multiple HDMI connected via Philips sync box (for the lights) - Apple TV 4k (2022) and a PS5.I have tried removing the sync box completely and plugging the ATV / PS5 directly to the TV with the same results.Sub (gen3)All the cables are certified hdmi 2.1The Sonos App tells me I am properly getting Atmos (ATV) or Dolby 5.1 (PS5). The sound is great, it is just the bass being underwhelmingI have tried placing the sub in different locations, true play on and off dozens of times, player with EQ bass
My new sub mini will not work with either of my beams with surrounds added or on their own, but if i remove the surrounds and set up as a stereo pair and add the sub it works fine :-( very frustrating, have tried removing, and reinstalling, resetting and hard wiring but no change 😭 any help greatly Appreciated
I honestly do not understand what is wrong with my Roam. I have a pair of Play 1 speakers and a Connect:Amp, and none of them have the problems that the Roam has. The Roam is constantly falling off of the network. It disappears for weeks at a time, then returns and says it is off-line. How does the system know it’s there if it’s offline? A power cycle on the Roam and a reboot of the router help briefly, but then the problem returns -- the Roam has roamed away somewhere. I get that 2.4 GHz signal interruption and constrained bandwidth may cause connectivity glitches, but neither the Play speakers nor the Connect Amp have a problem adjusting to this. I have moved the Roam to the same room as the router, and it doesn't help. Also, I have not changed any router settings. It is seriously frustrating and infuriating to be forced to diagnose this problem every time I want to use the Roam. Other Sonos products just work, and work well, which is one reason I opted for the Roam as my third Sonos
My issue is that I randomly get playback drop outs and the error log says ‘Unable to connect to Sonos product.’ The playback usually comes back and the next song in the playlist plays. It’s been doing it to me for a lover a year and it just did it again to me tonight.I’m currently running the following:Sonos OS: S1Version: 11.6.1 (build 571334140)Hardware Version: 22.214.171.124-2.0I’ve seen instances of this query before and the replies have always been centered around Wi-Fi. I’m not convinced as I get the same problems and I’m not running any Wi-Fi for my Sonos, which uses ZP90’s into Hi-Fi units.I am using a wired network of Netgear Pro Gig switches, Cat5 cabling and the NAS is a Dell 720 server (running Debian Linux 10.x) which it’s absolutely rock solid for everything else on my network.Note: I’m a network/computer professional with 30+ years in the game.
Hi,Do you have problems with Airplay with stutters on Roam right after turning it on?Let’s say we have 4 states:1 - when Roam is tuned on and available in network and it’s the only state that allows to play music2 - when Roam completely turned off, after 12 second press on the back button3 - when Roam is in sleep mode, after press on back button4 - low power mode after several minutes on inactivity when WIFI POWER SAVE setting is on.So, transferring from state 1 to 2 and back to 1 (1->2->1) enables stutters. Then transferring from 1 to 3 and back to 1 (1>3>1) n amount of times fixes that.I spoke with Sonos Support and got replacement. The new Roam that I received has exactly the same problem. I tried in different networks with different routers and result is the same.
I have a Sonos Beam Gen1 currently connected to an older Rocketfish RF-G1185 outputting to an even older (2004?) 1080i Panasonic plasma TV (TH-50PX50U - that still works great) that only has one HDMI input and zero HDMI output. I have the Beam connected to the Panasonic via it’s optical TOSLINK to HDMI cable. Problem is all audio is coming into Beam always shows Stereo PCM. First question: Is there any benefit to trying to feed Dolby 5.1 (or Dolby Digital) without surrounds or a sub? If not, I'll stop my quest right here. If not...My primary device is an Xfinity X1 DVR and when I set it to Dolby 5.1 output using its optical out and connect directly to Beam the Beam shows Dolby 5.1 format in. However, the audio out of Beam does not sound any better, in fact it is much softer and quieter.I also have an older generation (2 or 3?) Apple TV and Xbox connected to the Rocketfish via HDMI and when using those devices Beam still shows Stereo PCM and never Dolby 5.1. When I set the Xfinity X1 H
I have an existing S1 system with Play1 Speakers, Boost, Amps , etc….All these devices work from any existing device that had the S1 App installed for many many years…. such as IOS iphones and Mac Desktops….I recently purchased an Beam S2 , used my NEW Iphone to install the APP from app store….Now, since ALL my music and most other Speakers are on S1 … downloaded the S1 APP from the app store, the PROBLEM IS :When trying to connect to existing System (which it is), it can’t find it….I’ve reset the Speaker (one of them) and still NO GO. But all other access from other devices such as my MAC desktop or another IOS iphone device , I can see and play the music. What the heck is going on? I thought S2 and S1 can co-exist in peace. The only difference is that my NEW PHONE has both apps on it S1 and S2.S2 was used to connect the BEAM to configure it and be used by the TV … That works fine. Any HELP would be appreciated.
My Sonos One speaker fails when updating. Its a 2019 Gen 2 model. the unit has a wired connection to home router, and definitely has internet access since Alexa voice assistant is working ok. It stopped playing spotify song requests recently. So I opened the Sonos S2 App and it wont let me do anything except apply the latest update. The update gets to final stage and then fails with an Error code 6 I followed all the troubleshooting hints from Sonos support article regarding error updating :1. Set static IP 2. Rebooted my router and fiber modem (I have a TP-Link Home Mesh router system )3. I have powered the unit off/on multiple times.(https://en.community.sonos.com/speakers-229128/code-error-6-6877525) I have tried several times to do the update, but it fails every time. Have successfully done updates before, I never had an issue. Any suggestions how this can be resolved ? See attached images.
Sonos Arc gives no sound with DTS Surround 1.0All other formats working fine, but I have a few high quality movies with mono DTS soundtracks, which just give silence. App says it’s receiving DTS Surround 1.0 but no sound from speaker.Running Plex on NVidia Sheild, eArc connection.
All of a sudden my AppleTV is unable to connect to a home system consisting of Sonos One SL and Sonos One. Found out I am unable to connect anything over AirPlay. The Sonos is visible as an AirPlay option but not connecting. I can play music using Sonos App on iPhone. But I had to relog to the app and allow it t us Apple Music again as I found myself logged out. What to do? I tried restarting AppleTV but no luck. Turned all off and on again and no luck. Thanks
I’ve been on Sonos for about 5-6 years, mostly using Spotify. Six months ago I started Qobuz and recently every song I play is fine for up to 30 seconds then it skips to the next track. On every track I play.I’ve rebooted the router, unplugged my Sonos 5, and temporarily removed my Sonos Move. Nothing has worked. Can someone please help me?

Hi I just want to share my experience to the community and I hope no one encounter the same issue as mine. Hopefuly someone from sonos can see this and give me some guidance on what to do next. I always love sonos brand and recommend to many of my friends, however the recent events make me hesitate to continue to do so. I have a broken sonos roam which got warranty exemption after initiate contact with sonos CS team (which is nice!). But as I am currently overseas, sonos service team said there will be someone contact me and issue an RMA label slip. After a week, no one contact me, so I had to contact the service team again. This time they say they have a internal error and someone will contact me within a week. Unfortunately that did not happen either. so I tried again...but still, they said my case is responsible by my region distributor and someone will contact me. but sadly still no contact.I email the ceo mail box on their support page, no response at all.In short, after nearly t
Recently purchased a Sonos Beam, and it works great, with the one exception. I have the Beam plugged into the ARC HDMI of my Toshiba TV with Amazon Fire Built In. I didn’t notice it at first, but now I have to go into the settings of my TV and restart the TV after turning it on (I guess in computer terms, waking it from sleep) before the Beam will connect with the ARC output. Unplugging the HDMI, and/or Power Cord from the Beam with no luck. My current setup is the Beam plugged into the HDMI ARC, and an Apple TV (CEC is on with it) and a PlayStation 4 (CEC is off on this device), plus the Firestick built in. I would think CEC might have issues from reading other support forums, but on the flip side of that coin, I don’t think it would work with a restart if CEC was the issue. Thanks in advance!
I have two configurations, one LG TV (2018 model 55SK9000PUA) connected to a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) using HDMI ARC and another LG TV (2019 model 43UM7300PUA) connected to a Sonos Ray using optical. When the TVs Digital Sound Out is set to Auto (Bitstream) it struggles with dialog sync; the severity varies between programming. If I set the Digital Sound Out to PCM there is no problem. The sync issue is more difficult with the Beam connected by HDMI ARC than the Ray connected by optical (why?). In the former case, setting the AV Sync Adjustment (on the TV) to 3 seems to provide pretty good correction. The audio quality of PCM vs Bitstream in the Ray configuration does not seem to make any difference. Even when set to PCM the Ray (with Sonos One surround speakers) produces surround sound for relevant content. This seems to conflict with reports on the internet that PCM is only two channel; can someone clarity that in this context?Bitstream in the Beam configuration produces a fuller sound tha
Absolutely ridiculous at this point. I have not been able to use Sonos twice in a row without having to go through the malarkey of unplugging everything, including my router to use this stupid system. I used to recommend your products frequently, due to ease of use. How ironic I now intend to start shopping for a new system because of the difficulty of use.
You used to be able to select multiple groups of speakers - for example, Upstairs and Downstairs, to play to all of the speakers in those groups. Now, it doesn't seem to allow for multi-select; you can only pick one.Is anyone else seeing this behavior with the iOS Sonos app? Trying to pin down if it's a bug with my system or a change to the app's behavior.I created a new group as a workaround, but that's not nearly as flexible as the old system.
Hello Sonos lovers. I am planning to buy a mixer to play karaoke in my garage tv. My setup right know is a Samsung TV connected to a Sonos amp through HDMI arc. TV sound is coming through a pair of in ceiling speakers, using tv apps and a Chromecast. Can I connect a mixer using the tv optical out - mixer optical in - mixer analog out - Sonos amp line in?If so, will the arc and line in work simultaneously? Thanks
Equipment: 1 Boost 12 Sonos One Speakers Formerly 1 Google wifi puck, now replaced with 3 Eero 6+ pucks (same problem though) Approximately 2,000 sqft mostly open space. For years I have struggled with Spotify issues (unreliable, speakers and volume dropping out, “can’t connect to Spotify” messages, skipping tracks etc). However, Pandora works 90% more reliably. Sonos tech help solution was to connect one or more speakers to wifi pucks (not from modem, just ethernet wire from puck to speaker). I purchased the Eero 6+ mesh system due to each puck having it’s own Ethernet port. However, I have since learned Eero says NOT to connect the sonos speakers to pucks as it will degrade performance. Questions:Is it unique to Eero products that I “shouldn’t” wire directly to speakers? Is there a brand/model that is recommended? Currently all of my 13 sonos products are connecting to the puck that is hardwired to my boost and modem, therefore making my other 2 pucks virtually obsolete.
