Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

I’ve been facing issues contacting my Sonos devices and getting them stay on my Wi-Fi network, tried factory reset, app refresh , changing ownership too ( to a separate account) . The app connects and drops as it pleases. The issue may be with my router config. I travel frequently and carry my speakers , so the networks change . Presently in Japan, using a tp link 841 router , all my other devices work just fine it’s just Sonos that’s such a pain🤬

I have a SL speaker in my garage I want to run 24/7/365 but that never works. After a couple days the music stops, I go the app and tap play and away it goes again. Why does it just quit playing music?

For my home theater, should I go with the ultimate immersive set with Arc Ultra or with AVR? I don’t know if my rooms 7 ft drop ceiling with a 24-inch wide AC trunk running through it(covered with drop ceiling) will allow for the speakers to perform their best.

I’m not sure if I can do anything about this strange behavior in some settings or if it’s a bug. It’s present on both iPhone and iPad. If I’m in player mode like shown on left picture and want to go somewhere else the first time I press an icon, it doesn’t change to that mode but some previous mode. I’m pretty sure it did not work like this a couple of updates ago. Not sure when it changed.On iPad it’s even worse because the controls jump from bottom to top when going from player mode in the same way as shown in the pictures. Seems like a minor bug to fix to me. If it’s not some obscure setting I haven’t found. 

 Is there an option in the app to change a single tap to play to a double tap to play?  Too often when I’m fiddling around in the queue my finger starts a track when my intent was to scroll up or down a bit.  If I could choose Double Tap to play that would not happen while scrolling.

Questions from a white-haired old granny who’s not great on technical jargon.I’ve had a Sonos system in my house for some years: S1 controller, 2 Play3 speakers and a sound bar, plus a Connect box linked to a Denon CD player and speakers. Accessed via a Mac mini (running Tahoe 26.3.1) and the Sonos app on an iPad and iPhone.For some months I have not been able to access my music library either on Mac mini or portable devices. I gather this problem has been raised before but I haven’t seen an answer.Questions:I gather I can upgrade to Sonos S2 – but will the Denon no longer fit?Do I have to replace the speakers? If this is the case I think it’s a very poor do.I have a Synology NAS drive – I’ve seen comments about using this but don’t understand where it fits in.

I work in a corporate building and have been changing between using Auracle and Spotify on the Sonos music app. I found that sometimes the Sonos speakers just stops playing the music on Spotify and resets the queue back to the first song. I spoke to the customer service who said that there is somebody else using the Spotify account, however we only have this Spotify access through the Sonos account and so I cannot “sign all out” or change the Spotify password. I also suspect that because this is my workplace that nobody else is connected to it. Some days it wont work at all, whilst on other days its fine all day. Is there a limit to the amount of tracks I can listen to on Spotify through Sonos? How can I stop this from happening as its really annoying.

Hi, I’m having issues with Dolby audio being muffled. I’m using my Macbook’s HDMI port to connect to Valerion projector HDMI input 1, and then using HDMI eARC on Valerion to connect to Sonos Arc Ultra. I’m using VLC as a media player. I have a TrueHD Atmos 7.1 movie which plays audio as it should. But when I play any DDP 5.1 movie - the audio is muffled. No matter what I do, I can’t get audio to sound right even on Mono or Stereo setting, it’s always muffled. When I switch the audio output to AirPlay to Sonos, I loose the Dolby part but at least it sounds right. I tested it on more than one DDP 5.1 movies, all suffer from this.If I skip the Macbook and just use Valerion with a streaming service such as Netflix or HBO Max and connect it to Sonos with eARC, it plays Dolby Atmos as expected.

Can we please get the balance option on the settings back.

I’ve been using Sonos amp with 2 speakers on my deck for several years and now it’s no longer working.  Flashing white light.  I unplugged amp, plugged it back in and pressed button on back until it turned green.  I then entered the serial number from amp to the Sonos app and it said it was now connected again.  When I tried playing music with deck speakers the white light started flashing again on the amp.  HELP 😞

I have two Era 100’s I have in a stereo pair that will loose connection with each other causing one of the speakers to quit playing.  Opening the app and looking, they are still paired together, just not working.  why isn’t SONOS doing anything about it since they know about it?  Or am i not seeing their solution?  i have tried everything possible and nothing, they keep cutting off.  Come on SONOS why is there a community forum, do you not look at it?It’s doing it now as i write this Forum...

I gave up on my Sonos speaker years ago because of poor compatibility with many of my audio apps. I connected to my old speaker again to see if the UI had improved at all, and in many ways it was a lot better! However, there's no skip ahead function in Pocket Casts. This is a real deal breaker because I hate ads and always fast forward through them. Are there any good free Android podcast apps that have this functionality in Sonos?

I’m using the Sonos S1 with 2 x Play:5 in a stereo pair for the last 6-7 years or more.  I usually play the Radio Paradise stream direct from the RP service and NOT through TuneIn.  Right now, I’m only able to get 10 songs with no way to increase this limit.   Has anyone else noticed a limit on the queue size that will play from such a service?

Hi,I bought a Move 2 recently and it's a great speaker. However, I noticed when switched off (long press on the back button until it chimes and disappears from app) it loses 2% charge a day. I contacted support who initially decided to replace the unit. The second unit arrived but it's behaving the same way. They're now saying it's expected. Weird.Considering 3 hours of playtime at volume 40 uses about 10% of the battery that means, when it should be off, it's losing about 35mins of play time...a day.I intend to use the speaker when outside gardening or away from the house. I don't want it sitting on a charger all the time, nor do I want the battery totally drained, neither of which are healthy for batteries. I assume the official line will be something like "even when powered off is still doing some stuff" but why? Hi everyone,I’m experiencing an annoying rattling noise with my Sonos Sub Gen 2. The issue happens mostly during movies, especially in low frequency scenes with deep bass. It is less noticeable with music, but still present at times.What I’ve already tried: Factory reset Trueplay tuning multiple times Moving the Sub to different locations in the room Switching connection from WiFi to Ethernet (currently wired) The rattling still occurs regardless of placement or connection method.Has anyone experienced something similar with a Gen 2? Did it turn out to be a hardware issue or was there a specific fix?

Hi there, first post for me…I have a Sonos system (several ones, arc, sub, move, roam, connect) all playing in harmony!  The connect is connected to a CXN100 via coax digital out/in and I had some audio lag issues which I sorted by changing a setting (I can’t remember which one but it fixed the lag issue).I’ve now added a DAC Magic external DAC between by CXN100 and my amp.  I now have a horrible lag again and I cannot find a setting to fix it.just to be clear - I’ve got Connect > Streamer > DAC > Amp all connected by coax.  Before I introduced the DAC I had no problem but now I do!  There are no delay settings on the streamer or the DAC but I know I can do something with the connect to fix it but I can’t figure it out!please help!  Thanks

Hello everyone,I'm having trouble setting up my remote control with my new Sonos Ray.My TV model is TCL NXTFrame 55A300W- I disabled Bluetooth on the remote control, so it now only works in IR mode.- I connected the Sonos Ray to the TV using an optical cable.- I configured the sound output to optical only.- The remote control learning function does not work on the Sonos app.- I tried hiding the receiver on the TV, but that didn't help.- I tried moving the remote closer or further away.- I tried quickly pressing the + button, but that didn't change anything.Has anyone else had success with this type of TV/remote?Thank you in advance for your help. 

I absolutely hate how the volume control on the app is set up, the mute button is so close to the slider and makes it near impossible to lower the volume below a certain level without accidentally hitting the mute button. And don’t tell me you can use the slider to move down lower, it’s so sensitive you can have the volume all over the place until you fluke the level required. A simple fix would be to leave a wider gap between the end of the volume line and the mute button to avoid unnecessary taps.PS - 1st world problem 😊

Hoping I’m not the only one. Out of the blue a few days ago, when asking our Sonos 1 to play a song via Google assistant/youtube music, it now says “sorry I can’t do that on this device”. I’ve deleted,readded,reauthorized, rebooted, reinstalled (I’ve re-everythinged). No luck. Works fine on my iPhone via Siri.  Why don’t Sonos and Google play nice?

Our old zoneplayer s5 speaker was working great until I stupidly updated to S2 without realizing it is not compatible. I have tried many fixes: deleted S2 app and reinstalled S1, reset speaker to factory settings but nothing allows the app to find the speaker anymore-any help. It was working yesterday until I did the app upgrade :-(

There are steps not described where you have to guess, the big one is the connect to wifi at the end. Am I supposed to do that or not? No info. Answer is yes, connect to wifi.Then there’s step 5 where I was supposed to “swipe away” a pop up window. That was not really possible on the iPad version. I tried many times swiping but the window would not go away. The app seems to be getting progressively worse. I’ve now got the following issues. Alarm didn’t go off today Tried and failed to play music to the relevant speaker  if trying to interact with app, I need to close and restart as many as 4 times before it properly loads Can’t play music to several speakers  Almost impossible to play everywhere - always fails  My WiFi is good around the house is there an update coming any time soon to fix all of this? Terrible experience for a system so dependent on the app, especially if you have lots of devices.  Graeme 

Hi, two of my Sonos One Gen 2 failed, one of the speakers powers on but sounds choppy when playing bass; upon opening it, capacitor C285 is broken. The second speaker doesn't power on and the area where capacitor C285 is located is burned, do you have any advice on values or something useful, knows if this is repairable?
