Creating a separate post regarding the below as this was marked as answered but the issue has not been resolved. I personally use Spotify Connect 99% of the time to play music to my Sonos speakers, I think we can all agree it provides a much nicer UI for finding and playing music than the Sonos app (and has better audio quality than AirPlay)… However I have always noticed it tends to be a bit unreliable especially when switching rooms (say you listen to music in the kitchen then go upstairs and want to switch to bedroom without pausing the music). This will work sometimes but on a lot of occasions the new room will show as selected but no audio will play from the speakers (yet the song time will continue to advance). Scrubbing the track will then result in it quickly skipping 2-3 songs, and the audio playing will then be a different one to the displayed “Now Playing” (typically the song before in the queue) I have recently gotten round to debugging this a bit more and have found a rel
I have a gen 2 connect that will not join my network. When I try a factory reset it does move the the blinking orange but never to green. While blinking orange I can detect it on my S2 app but when I try to add it, it always fails when it tells me to push the play/pause button to add it with the message of “We didn’t detect a button press from the Connect”
Hi,I own the set mentioned above (not sure about the model of a TV but I know it can support 5.1 and Atmos as well, the TV is pretty new-a year or two max three old). I had it working for the past year.Something probably changed in my setup and 5.1 no longer works correctly, when streaming Netflix, or using any other app with 5.1/Atmos. I don’t know what or why. When using not 5.1 apps, like YouTube, I used to be able to get all surrounds to play on the same volume as my main Beam, now I am not able to do it, even though I play with volumes and settings in the app.Now my surrounds make broken sound, similiar to what is supposed to play and it’s much quieter (like 90% queiter) than Beam.Surrounds work as supposed, when playing Xbox on the same TV (with 5.1 as well). TV set to pass through all the time, Google Chromecast as well. Something is off and I can’t find what. Many thanks for your help.
I have a Beam (gen 1) and two play:1’s running on S2. I have acquired a connect (gen 1), which obviously only works on S1. The reason I got a connect is to integrate a vinyl player into the system. I was mis sold the connect on eBay by someone claiming it was S2 compatible, but alas upon receiving it, it is the older generation. My question is; I know I can operate two separate systems on the same network, but can I split the same speakers across the two systems? For example; run the beam and play 1’s on s2 as my home theatre set up, but then use the same pair of play 1’s with the connect on s1, as speakers for the vinyl?thanks
Hello, I’ve been reading and it sounds like this is possible, but I want to double-check. In a condo where living and dining rooms are essentially one large space, I have a Beam wired to my Samsung smart TV in the “Living Room” and two new Era 100’s in a stereo pair assigned to the “Dining Room” in Sonos.I can stream music via AirPlay to the Living Room or Dining Room and group them. But now I’d like to try adding the Era 100’s to the Beam as surrounds. Is this dual purpose setup possible? (From what I’ve read it should be.) Will the surrounds introduce delay to the TV audio? Is it better to keep them separate and use different speakers as surrounds?I also have a Sonos One gen 2 and Sonos One SL stereo pair in the bedroom, but that’s a separate room.
Return of a similar issue reported and address back in the summer (2023). When searching the “My Music” subdirectory in the Amazon Music Service menu, the display of the artists and albums in the My Music library subdirectory is incomplete. The good news is that the music is there & can be accessed by searching. The problem appears to be solely that you can not look up all of the artists and albums in the subdirectory if you trying to make a selection of music to listen to.I called this into Sonos support 7-10 days ago. No change as of today (12/5). I appreciate that Sonos may need to engage with Amazon to resolve. Are other users experiencing this again? Please post if you are so we can help move the issue forward to resolution. Thanks all.
I upgraded my eero system to an eero 6 mesh system that I need to use to get music through my old, brick building. I have 9 Sonos speakers 7 are all playing one thing, 2 won’t play - or if they play it shuts the others off. They all used to work together - now they do not.Suggestions? I’ve tried everything!
Question regarding the rear speakers surround sound. Will there be any noticeable difference between using Sonos in wall architectural speakers vs in ceiling Sonance Mag6r’s?I initially planned on placing the architectural’s in wall behind the couch however, plans have changed and they need to be mounted in ceiling. I haven’t found any reason the rectangle in wall architectural’s can’t be placed in ceiling instead of swapping out for the circle ones meant for in ceiling? In searching I found the Mag6r’s are heavily discounted right now, so I’ve thought about switching to those. Any thoughts? key pointsroom has cathedral ceiling that’s about 10.5’ at peek, 8’ walls. room is 100% shiplap. room has several large windows as it overlooks a lake. rear speakers will be used with Sonos Arc and Sonos Amp.thanks
We have a Sound Bar on one TV and Roams, One's etc everywhere. Very happy. In our lounge we have an outdated B&O AV receiver, woofers, tweeters, cables everywhere, giving us 5.1 surround. I am looking at updating this to Sonos also. I think the Arc is what I'm after, but what other bits do I need to replicate the current 5.1 surround, or better? Thanks, Kate
I am continuing to have issues with my Playbar, which is part of a surround system with 2 Play:1s. I previously had a google mesh network and changed it to Eero thinking it would get better, it didn’t. I thought the issue might be it trying to play across multiple rooms, but it’s cutting out while only playing in one room. I’ve previously disconnected the surrounds, which work fine on their own, but the Playbar will still skip on its own in this room. I moved the Playbar to a different room of my house and didn’t hear skipping, but that could just be because it’s intermittent. This wasn’t a great test because I do remember this specific Playbar skipping when I had it hooked up in another room about a year ago.None of this makes sense since the Playbar has a perfect internet connection and all other speakers in the house have no issues. It’s also only a 1400 sq ft house with three mesh WiFi hubs (one for each floor). At this point, is it possible I just have a bad Playbar? I can see the
I read many threads on here about issues when various Sonos groups/speakers are played simultaneously. Everyone always says “it’s the network.” I had an older google mesh system putting out 100mb DL speeds and 10mb UL with a latency of about 25. Alas, because I listened to the people here, I bought a WiFi 6 eero mesh network thinking the community knew something I did not. The internet speeds went up to 250mb dl/10UL and 21 latency. But the problem didn’t go away. None of my other devices in the house have any glitching issues. I can stream UHD TV with no stuttering, but somehow my Playbar and two play:1s surrounds can’t keep a music signal going. I am at a loss and have spent so much money and time trying to fix this. I know people say to try unplugging the the Playbar, but yesterday the power in my house went out so all the Sonos devices automatically restarted. What could possibly be left?
I am trying to set up a new ASUS ZenWiFi AX6600 Tri-Band Mesh WiFi 6 System (XT8 2PK). However, Sonos devices will not appear on the network and do not show up on the Sonos App, even though they appear to be available. I tried the 3 different ideas posted in the forum, but still no luck. Wanted to see if anyone had new ideas on how to get this to work?
Hello,I have Sonos arc with Sub gen3 and two Sonos Ones SL as surrounds. Arc is in wired connection. Everything was working fine until an electrical outage because of stormy weather. After that my Sonos Ones appear offline (most of the times the left Sonos One speaker). I’ve tried all the solutions that suggested in this forum (reboot router, unplug speakers etc.) sometimes the system was succesfully connected again but after some time the speakers go missing again.I’ve submited diagnostics from the sonos app with the number 1823992083Thank you,Andreas
We’d been noticing for a few months that we’d go to use our Dinis speakers and on our app on either phone… some features were greyed out meaning Dinis would nt work. This was intermittent though. Then we got a new bt router and we can’t connect up the play 5 or 1…it gets as far as asking for password after it’s done tge chime but then no matter if I put in my wireless password /key or the admin password for hub manager or my sonos password … none will work and it just says can’t connect I know classed as old now but it seems to be crazy to have to replace these as when working sound great! can anyone help please?
I have an outbuilding that is connected to the internet through a wireless access point. It is the same signal as the house but with a different name. I have a Five in there so need the outhouse WiFi to be a trusted network. My issue is that I have two Era 100s in my conservatory that isnt too far away from the outbuilding so you can pick up the WiFi signal sometimes. They are connected to the network in the house but occasionally pick up the signal in the outbuilding. How can I stop them from connecting to this network? The signal is visible but the strength isn’t great unless you’re in the outbuilding. It’s causing them to lose connection and then reconnecting to the house WiFi, but I can’t make the switch networks manually. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have an s1 system with two connect amps. I just purchased a move 2. My understanding is that I need to remove the s1 devices first, using the s1 app. Support docs say to go to settings - system tools - remove products. This option does not exist on either my android or iPad s1 apps. When I open the Sonos app (the newer one) I get stuck in an endless loop of trying to connect to my s1 products.Any ideas on what to do?edit: sorry, I just read that I need to factory reset the s1 products.
Hi there, recently re activated my sonos play:5 (1st gen) from 2years hibernation. Connecting easy but device keepsstopping/interrupting the song every 20min for approx 10 sec. Then it would continue the song as if nothing happened. Any idea how to rectify this?
I am connected to sonos beam gen 2 and two sonos one speakers as surround. All works fine untill I turn off the TV and on again and then I don't get sound from my sonos. Only from my TV speakers. ARC is turned on on my TV settings and after diagnostics my TV can't find issues with the HDMI cable connect to sonos beam. When I change sources I can see sonos images on the TV but my remote control change the TV volumn not the sonos. Also on the mobile app i am changing to TV input and i am changing the volume up and down but it is not showing this changes on the TV screen and TV still play from it's speakers. After turn off beam gen 2 from power cable and connect again it connects automatically and all works fine untill I switch off the TV again. That happen when no other devices are connected to other HDMI ports. Any solutions? I changed 3 new HDMI cables so far and no difference
Good evening, I'm in the process of having a media wall installed and I have purchased 2 x era100, 1 x mini sub and 1 x 2nd gen beam. Now my question is, is there an optimal way to set these up? bearing in mind my room or the layout to use better term will be offset. Let me add some texture. Double doors central lead in to a long narrow-ish room. (6mtr x 3mtr). Straight in front of these double doors will be the centre of the media wall. The media wall will be 2.4mtr in width. Here comes the issue (Or hopefully no issue if you kind folk can advise me). I have an L shaped sofa to the left of the double doors facing the media wall. Then a snuggle chair to the right of the doors facing media wall. My natural first instinct is to wall mount the era100 to either side of the double doors with the beam under the tv and mini sun to one side of that. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks
