Terrible time constantly having to reset speakers

I have installed a SONOS system to my house and I( think I have grown to actually hate it. It looks fantastic but is so difficult to keep all the speakers working. The APP guides are so frustrating as they don’t allow you to go back. My phone has been saying ‘Connecting to your Play 5 for 40 mins. This has happened a few times and if I shut down the App I lose all the speakers that I did have success connecting. I have x2 Players, X2 Play 5, x3 Sonon 1’s, x2 Sonos Move, x1 Sonos Boost. It all looks good, sounds great when it work but I am now beyond the end of my tether trying to get all speakers connected.

You have had this same complaint for 4 years.  Have you contacted Sonos in that time or have you just resorted to the useless step of resetting every time?  If the latter, it begs the question - Why have you stuck with something for so long which is so obviously not working for you?

You haven't noticed doing factory resets does not solve anything? (as above)

Once you are willling to try other options we users, or Sonos support can probably help.

A good first step would be switching to Wi-Fi and discarding the obsolete Boost. The support section here has detailed instructions.

You are right, I have resorted to all of the useless Sonos recommended steps to no avail. As said... someone that continues to do the same thing hoping for different results is a sign of insanity! I don’t have the time to sit on the phone to Sonos support, I would happily employ someone to do this for me. I think it is time to upgrade to BOSE

I would be willing to try other/any options that solved these issues. Why aren’t there easy step by step guides that Sonos provides. The app is like a slow torture. I have speakers in our house that haven’t made a noise...other that the Sonos ding dong ding sound for 4 years. I don’t work in IT and I have not desire to spend my free time solving the musical Rubik's cube.

Check for incompatible hardware

https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/incompatible-network-hardware

Switch to a Wi-Fi connection

https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/switch-sonos-between-a-wireless-and-wired-setup

You will want to remove power from the Boost once moved to Wi-Fi. Also r3move any other Ethernet connections.

Once that is done, power down all Sonos, reboot router and controller, then power up your Sonos.

Run an update to get all devices on the same / latest software.

If you have continuing issues after this post back and we can look at further steps. Many, many folks have stable a d working Sonos systems.
