Hello,I'm new to Sonos and surround systems, and I'm planning a 5.1 setup with Arc, Sub gen 3 and two Ikea Symfonisk speakers, either picture frames or lamp stands.Problem is, I have a doorway in the perfect spot for the right surround. Is it better to place the surrounds asymmetrically further apart (1), or closer together, symmetrically (2)?The system will be used for movies and playing music in the entire living room/kitchen. Because of the latter, I was thinking it would be an advantage to put the surround speakers as far into both corners as possible (to “fill” the room), is this correct?Please excuse the crude drawing, but I hope it illustrates my conundrum. Thank you very much! 

Recently, one of my Roams has stopped playing music when grouped with a Play 1 or Sonos Five. Up until now, it has worked pretty much flawlessly. The Sonos app will show the Roam is in the same group as the other speaker, but no sound is coming out.  I have tried grouping and un-grouping speakers in different order, starting with the Roam and then adding Play 1 or starting with Play 1 and then adding Roam.  The app will show the group, but no sound out of the Roam. Interestingly enough, I can use the Sonos Voice Control to start and stop music on the Play 1 or Five.I use an Orbi RBR 750 and have the 2.4 GHz channel set to 6.  I also have a Sonos Boost and my Orbi app shows that my speakers, except the portable ones, are on SonosNet.  The Roamand Move are on the Orbi WiFi.  I have done a factory reset the Roam and still have the same problem when I try and group the speakers.This has been very frustrating. I have a second, newer Roam that does not stay connected to my network at all.  I

Looked around for Pandora issues and can’t seem to find a recent post so asking about a problem which only just began showing up after the latest hardware update. We’ve been Sonos user for many many years without any of these issues before so you can imagine it’s frustrating.We have 4 Sonos 1’s and a Sonos port spread throughout the house and prior to the latest hardware update, all of them were able to play music from Pandora individually and as a group.However, something in the latest update which I did about a week ago, something has generated the following problems attempting to use PandoraI select a music station from Pandora from the S2 controller and the station I select blinks, as if I’ve selected it, but then nothing ever plays.   I select a station and it happens to play (maybe 1 out of 20 tries) and it will play for a short period of time through all devices but then it simply stops. Hi all, I’ve just tried to install my new Era300, but the system doesnt find it. I’m having a “guest”-wifi network in my appartment from the owner who lives upstairs. I’ve read somewhere that sonos doesn’t work with a guest network. Is that correct? And is there a way to avoid this? Or is the only way to have installed a new network? thx for your support

Just bought several Sonos speakers for my home.  My entire family uses the apple eco system.  I keep getting the error that I can’t play song (from apple) due to an encoding error.  The advertisement said I could play my Apple Music through these speakers.  Saw all the responses, and personally, I don’t care who’s responsible for the failure.  Sonos collected my money and I just need the fix for this. If no fix I’m taking it all back to Costco on Friday and buying something that works with Apple.

Hey all, I recently acquired a Sonos Roam speaker that I want to share between my smartphone (iPhone 14) and my wife's smartphone (iPhone 13).The 2 smartphones are up to date as far as iOS is concerned.The Sonos application is installed on the iPhone 14 to install the device and control it. When I want to stream music in AirPlay 2 from the iPhone 14, it works fine.When I want to do the same thing from iPhone 13, I get the message "unable to connect to Sonos Roam". The most surprising thing is that the error message is immediate, as if there were a setting on the iPhone that forbade AirPlay 2!!!! What's the problem??? As for the Bluetooth connection, it works perfectly on both iPhones.It even seems to me that the Bluetooth connection is more stable than the one with AirPlay 2!When the AirPlay connection is lost, the Sonos Roam is unable to recover it. You have to switch it off, then on again, and re-establish the connection from the iPhone. Many thanks,

Reposted as I originally posted in the wrong group 🙄We currently have 2 x ONE: one in the lounge, one in the kitchen and both grouped. Music is streamed all day as we WFH.We’re thinking of buying a Beam soundbar for the lounge, and using that to listen all day in the lounge and grouped with the kitchen, and then when we watch TV. We’ve not really thought about what to do with the current lounge ONE.When we watch TV, will we need to un-group the lounge Beam and kitchen ONE, or is there a way to set this up so we don’t have to ungroup/group each time we watch TV?We could have the spare ONE in the lounge too, can I set up sub-groups? e.g.Group 1(ALL) > kitchen ONE, Lounge ONE, Lounge BeamGroup 2 (LOUNGE) > Lounge ONE, Lounge BeamAnd still stream music in the kitche whilst watching TV in the lounge?Thanks in advance, hope that I’ve managed to ask this in an understandable way!

I wonder if anyone has knowledge of the following problem. I would like to connect the Sonos ray sound bar to a Panasonic TX-50HX580B television via optical connection but am concerned that as the tv headphones output is totally out of sync with tv picture the same issue will exist on the optical output etc. This is further compounded by the lack of any settings to adjust to solve this issue 

Hi, i’m using my Sonos Beam now already for a couple of years and since yesterday suddenly there is no sound coming from the Sonos. The Sonos works with airplay. I tried performing a soft reset on the Sonos and Samsung tv which helped for a couple of seconds and then it went off again. I also performed a hard reset on the Samsung TV and Sonos Beam but that did’t give any result. Furthermore I checked the settings (checked if anynet was on) and couldn’t find the issue. The tv and the Sonos are connected and when I try to install the Sonos on the tv the Sonos app says that it has been done successfully.  Do you have any idea how I should proceed with this?  thanks,

I know this speaker is super old and obsolete but it is great and does not need to be changed.But here’s the issue anyway, playback often drops the audio and comes back exactly where it should have if you sang along, or it might stop playing and go to the next track.This would lead me to believe that this could be a network issue but the speaker uses wired Ethernet and my ISP is running at 500 Mbps.No other Sonos products in my house experience any issues like this, albeit everything is original Gen1 equipment: Play Bar, Play Sub, and x4 Play 1I still have to use Sonos S1 app on my Apple device because the Play 5 Gen1 is not compatible.I’ve switched all IP addressing for the Sonos speakers to DHCP reservations but this does not help.Anyone have any suggestions or is it time to upgrade the Play 5 so I can then move to the new app?

I currently own a Sonos 1 and have just moved to uni in September. My WiFi network is a public WiFi which means I can’t connect my Sonos. I was instructed by the support team to use an Ethernet cable which I have bought and plugged in but still no luck. There are two WiFi networks at my accom and there is one guy connected to one as I can actually connect to his system but it requires me to log in but obviously I don’t know the details. Does anyone know what I can do? I just want to play music 

Only some functions work on my Samsung TV remote after installing my new Sonos Arc doundbar, Subwoofer (gen 3) and two Era 100.  I can control the volume, TV settings, start Netflix, Prime from the TV remote; however I cannot change channels or bring up the TV guide.Pls advise.Thx

Hi, for some reason my arc today has started to automatically reduce volume until it’s on mute. I’ve got a Sony TV and had the same set up for the past couple of years. Arc, Sub, two Ones at rear… Any ideas? Thanks 

I’m looking at using Sonos within my salon, I three treatments 3x3 metres sq each and then a larger reception… I’m wondering if a era 100 or 300 would be suitable in each treatment room and what I would be best with in reception area? 

My Sonos on my laptop will not display my music or Pandora stations. It says "Check for updates". I do that and installs some driver (or something) and then asks for my password. None of my Mac passwords work. My Sonos password didn't work. I tried these multiple times. Then I reset my Sonos password and that doesn't work. Is there a delay on that taking effect? If not, what else can I do? I simply want to play music.

Just got the Sub mini and saw that it works like s charm with Beam Gen 1. Well not for me.I have added the Sub mini to the Beam and it does not work. Got a network cable to the Sub as I read that it might work. Adding the Sub to my play 1 works like a charm so it is the Beam that is the problem. And the Beam is why we bought the Sub mini…. I have removed and added the Sub mini.I have not changed my wifi to Channel 6 but the Beam connected through e-arc to my TV works like a charm wireless and with the TV. Next steps? Contacting support?

Hello,As already mentioned in these topics:I would like to know if it is planned to allow the Beam to be used as a center speaker. I know that it plays three channels, but a configuration switch to play only the center channel would be great.The goal is to use some other speakers for the left and right channels. Why ? Because I already have some nice speakers and I would like to combine them with the Beam.If such a configuration is possible, I will buy a Sonos Amp to connect my speakers as left and right channels. Let me emphasize that my potential purchase of an Amp is determined by the availability of this functionality.This kind of configuration (Beam + Amp) is already available for surround speakers. Making it available for side speakers would be tremendous!

I have my old Sonos products on the S1 app and my new products on the S2 app. The S1 app is now giving me the above error message and asking me to upgrade to the S2 app. When I click on ‘About my system’ the S1 app only shows the products linked to the S2 app and doesn’t recognise the old Sonos products

I recently bought the era 100 set. I connected then as a surround sound set with the beam. I was watching tv then wanted to listen to my record player which has a connection to the era 100 and I couldn’t get it to pop up the line in function so I could listen to it.. is there a way to listen to the era 100 as a pair with the record player without un syncing the surround sound? Why is Sonos this janky in 2023… 

I have a home theater setup with an ARC, 2 Play:1 as surrounds, and a Sub (Gen 3).  Every day at the same time in the evening, the Sonos system turns on my LG OLED TV (OLED77C2PUA )I have verified it is the ARC by disconnecting the HDMI cable between the two; TV does not turn on by itself when disconnected.  ARC is connected via the Simplink port; if I connect via another HDMI port, TV does not turn on by itself, but the ARC will not turn on when I turn on the TV.  I have deleted all of the components form the Home Theater setup, and recreated it.  I have confirmed all firmware is up to date.This week a news issue has cropped up; when whatever happens inside the ARC that turns off the TV, it is now also muting the home theater audio so it is at zero.I have been troubleshooting this issue since June with Sonos, with no resolution.  I just called for what seems like the 20th time for an update; this was escalated to Level 2 6-8 weeks ago.  Offshore support says they will send an email tw

HelloRecently my dual band modem started to ‘drop’ and not broadcast the 2.4 ghz range so my ISP advised first that I reboot (I did) and failing that, a factory reset which followed. I then set up the same network ID and password as before so that my existing devices (laptops, phones etc.) could reconnect automatically and this worked….except for my Sonos system.Using the app, I cannot get my Play 1 or any other speaker to be discovered. I have factory reset 3 of the six speakers and still have the same problem. My ISP says it is an issue with Sonos?  I haven’t changed any other settings, either on the modem or Sonos.  Help! 

Need help!  Lol.  Having trouble setting up my new Sonos Arc to an Epson LS800 projector.I currently have:-DISH network box connected to the HDMI port 1.  -The Sonos arc connected to HDMI port 2 (arc).-Apple TV connected to HDM1 port 3.I still have sound coming out of the Epson speaker in the front with nothing coming out of the Soundbar.what am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance!

I just bought 2 Move 2 speakers, a Sub 3 Gen and a mini sub, as you can see I like to listen to the bass and the Move 2 doesn't have much power, I'm going to have to return everything since I'm finding out that they can't be connected, so Please if anyone has a solution to this problem let me know before returning all of this, thank you
