Our Sonos Play 5 is suddenly silent.  It’s visible (via wi-fi) to the Sonos app and also to the Spotify app, but there’s simply no sound coming out.  We’ve tried disconnecting the speaker and confirmed the volume settings.  Completely at a loss as to what to do. Meanwhile, our Connect in another room is working just fine.

I have a project coming up Need Suggestion Zone 1 - 2 In Celling Speaker  Non Sonos Zone 2 - 2 In Celling Speaker - Non SonosZone 3 - Bang&olufsen A9 - Non Sonos Zone 4 - 2 Outdoor Speaker - Non SonosZone 5 - Bang&olufsen A6 - Non Sonos   If a have to create 5 Zones , then how many Sonos Port I have to use ? And do I required Sonos Amp also for In Celling Speakers ? And is it possible to use Bang&olufsen Products with Sonos Port , when Bang&olufsen products is self has an multiroom built in ??  Please Suggest  

Hi there!,I need assistance here guys, I got a Sonos Arc recently and I am very excited using it, even though I have an issue as below :Since I have a Smart TV Samsung Series : UN50MU6103, it supports Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital+ (as far as I know, if Dolby Digital+ is activated on the TV settings you can play Dolby Atmos on the Sonos Arc see below description :  My set up is : Sonos Arc plugged on HDMI ARC port on TV and Xbox series S plugged in other HDMI port on the TV also, and my question here is, why on the TV Audio settings I cannot activate Dolby Digital+? On below image you can see that there is only Dolby Digital and PCM audio activated, but not Dolby Digital+  TV Audio SettingsAll this is due to I want to activate Dolby Atmos on Xbox and all possible streaming applications,Please, If I wasn't clear enough let me know, I hope you can help me,Regards! 

What is the maximum length of HDMI cable I can use when connecting my TV to my Sonos amp which powers my in ceiling speakers? Is 10 metre ok?

I have two Sonos paired together to play from my Spotify Playlist however I am finding whenever I search the web or text while listening it stops playing.  Any clue on how to fix this…it is so frustrating.

Recently the TV volume output of my Arc + Surrounds has been way higher than my TV's volume control bar would indicate. It is such that when my TV volume is set to '1', it is actually pretty loud. Turning my TV one step down to '0' mutes the TV entirely. My TV volume goes up to 100. So now my TV goes from Mute to Loud to Very Loud to Apocalypse Loud.This is a recent issue and I don't know what has changed. In the past I used to set my TV volume between 10-13 for casual watching, and 15-20 when I wanted loud audio. Occasionally when I really wanted to piss off my neighbours or impress my friends, I'd crank it to 20-25. My Music and TV Surrounds are set to 0. My volume limitter is off. I just want the TV output bar to better reflect the volume, and give me a some wiggle room on the low level. Is there a way to calibrate this? Perhaps related- my turntable & Port audio has also been a lot LOWER recently. 

I’d like to have an option to create permanent virtual rooms/groups (or virtual stereos, i.e. permanently linked stereos) so we can re-use them many times.One feature that I use often is play a song from spotify, I need to play in one speaker and then to to the sonos app and group it to other speakers which is all but user friendly!Also, the existing ‘group’ feature available in the mobile app is not available in the mac app, can you please add it…?This has been previously requested many times by many users many years ago (first thread goes back 14 years and all of them have been closed for comments!) - is SONOS listening to customer feedback?? Where are the features development pipeline?Many thanks

Have no problems updating and using all other Sonos products. Got a new Roam today and it needs to install updates before it can be used. Tried multiple times. Takes forever and then comes back with Error 30. Tried all things suggested on Sonos website and forum. And ideas?

Hi everybodyi currently have a Sonos Beam hooked up to the optical out of my (old) Samsung TV (UE37C6530) as it doesn’t have an ARC HDMI socket..The TV supports Dolby Digital and outputs correctly in this format for programmes showing on the TV itself.The problem is for the other set top boxes that are connected to the TV via HDMI, in that the boxes are sending a Dolby signal but this does not pass through the TV so outputs via the optical cable are Stereo PCM in all cases (tinny to say the least). The only way to get ‘pure’ Dolby from the set top box to the Beam is by connecting it directly to the Beam using the digital optical output, which then means that my other stb’s aren’t connected to the Beam any more. I’ve  seen some old threads where people have used HDMI splitters etc which didn’t seem ideal. It seems like this is a known issue mainly affecting older Samsung TV’s, so I wondered if any forum members can recommend a working solution to get all of my HDMI devices to feed Dolby

Do the group/ swap functions work for stereo pair of Roams the same as single Roam?  I can’t seem to get to work.

I have set the volume of my Arc to 50% for watching TV. For music this would be way too loud, but the level of TV sound is lower somehow, so 50% is just right.However, this also influences Google Assistant - the replies are very loud as well, and what’s even worse, the microphone is ultra sensitive! Seems like this is also adjusted by the overall volume.The Arc is in my living room, and I have a Move in my kitchen. Both speakers are ~20 ft apart (including a wall), but when I am in the kitchen and try to give a command to the Move, the Arc replies :-( Sensitivity is already at -2 for the Arc, and +2 for the Move, but that doesn’t help. I know that the Assistant volume cannot be set separately, but for the Arc this would be absolutely necessary...

Okay so I have 2 Sonos S1’s that I have setup in my kitchen as a stereo pair and it was working great I had them connected to WiFi and everything it was amazing and I was really pleased with it. But if the WiFi connection is for some reason stopped (either by someone Turing it off or power cuts) it will refuse to automatically reconnect and I have to go and reconnect them manually. And with multiple speakers in multiple rooms that’s quite a challenge! I run a few of my other songs speakers because I know the WiFi connection is quiet a challenge but surely there is a way to make it connect on its own?  I have attached the reconnect reminder but if this could be updated that would be amazing :). 

Hello, my Sonos One SL’s sound first became muffled after about the first 10 minutes of listening. That time, the sound became normal again after I did 3x factory reset.The next day, the sound became muffled again, and this time factory resets doesn’t fix the problem, and this problem exists across all streaming service and also airplay.Wifi connection shouldnt be a problem because my other sonos one SL in another room works fine.Please help.  

How do you power up the Roam from hibernation (deep sleep)?

Hi,I own a Sonos One and a Sonos Roam and have experienced no end of issues with connectivity. I do not have a unstable inernet connection and all of my other devices (mobile phone, tv etc.) work fine however my sonos one refuses to connect. When I come to use it, it will not show up on the connect devices tab in spotify (despite my account being connected to sonos), and in the app I will repeatedly go through the "find system" setup, or completely reset the speaker, only for it to say that it could not connect. It does work sometimes and the roam is much better because of the bluetooth feature but I do not understand why it does not connect. With the ammount of money these cost I would expect them to work much better. Is there anything anyone can do to help?Thank you,Marshall W

Hi everyone, I have an issue when I try to use Airplay with my MacBook Pro from late 2020. I try to airplay my music or anything from my Mac to my Sonos Roam and it’s not working. I have the Airplay logo for doing it but there isn’t a single sound from my Sonos Roam and I can see that the music or the video is playing on my Mac. When I use my iPhone there is no problem, the Airplay is working but not with my Mac, the connection failed.Thanks by advance for your answers.Good day :)

I have recently gone over to Sonos and am trying to make sure i don’t get this wrong.Electricians are on site and therefore cabling not a problem at the moment.My router, fibre at 316mbs, is situated in the entrance hall. Standalone, with a CAt7 cable to a switch on the sub basement where the office is, In the salon, 6 metres from the router, is an 85 ‘’ Bravia, ARC, Sub and two One SL’s. Eight metres away in the kitchen is a 75 ‘’ Bravia and another ARC. The floor is open plan. Across a bridge is a bedroom and in that room will be a Sonos Symfonisk Picture speaker. For this floor that is it. The stairs from the entrance hall to the lower level are adjacent to the routers location. This is where I come unstuck. Although I have for some reason two network SSID’s, one being 5G as a suffix the signal as you go to the lower floor and into the garage gets very weak, no matter which one you use. Hello,  I have a Sonos Amp which I’d like to connect to my projector via an Amazon Fire stick type device. I wonder what would be the best set-up/method. Any advice would be greatly received. Currently I have it set up thus: Fire stick as HDMI input (Projector has only 1 HDMI input).Sonos amp (plus bookshelf speakers) connected via Coax through 3.5mm jack in back of projector. (Line in mode) Now this works most of the time when the Sonos app recognises the amp as line in mode. However, frequently the amp decides to switch to ‘TV’ mode and doesn’t play audio. I’m not sure why it decides to switch all of a sudden or how I can prevent it from switching from Line In mode. The projector doesn’t have ARC that I know of, and as mentioned only has one HDMI input, which the Fire Stick is connected into. Is there a way I can stop Sonos switching over to ‘TV’ mode sporadically, or is there a way that I can make the system work that when it does switch to TV I can get audio too? Hi Sonos, I have been using sonos for over a year now for this system, it run perfectly fine but until recently:I have few system:1. arc + one sl x2 + sub2. playbar + amP + sonance3. amp + sonance4. Few Sonos oneThe playbar is always missing from the app. I have perform device and router power off for a few times to add it back. But It doesn’t fix the problem permanently as it will keep missing again. For info, my network was setup in WiFi mesh, it’s running fine and no settings has been changed. diagnostic number 239312862Regards,keith. 

Hi all, I currently have Apple Music, a ZP80 (that is hooked up to a record player and a cd player) and two Play Ones and I wanted to know what I would have to upgrade to have the following things work:- Being able to control Sonos from Apple Music (I can only control Sonos from my S1 app and that thing is awful.) Could I control Sonos from Apple Music if I had other equipment? If not, is the S2 controller a lot better than S1?- Streaming lossless music from Apple Music to Sonos Speakers.- Streaming high-res music from Apple Music to Sonos Speakers. It sounds like this would require some sort of extra DAC hardware and I am guessing new Sonos speakers that could handle hi-res audio (I am assuming the newer speakers do). It sounds like Apple Music requires you to have an external DAC to stream hi-res now. Is that the case with all of the other services out there?Thanks so much for your help. Hi there.  My sub keeps losing connection and dropping off my home network.  Then trying to add it again is a trial.  This happens about once a week...I can hear the speaker blip every now and then as I guess it tries to hit the network? The Sonos app never finds the sub.   I always have to factory reset. A factory reset generally allows the app to find the sub and it can join a room but then…. It pretty much always fails to join the BeamHave tried:rebooting Sonos app Updating Sonos app turning off ‘Private Address’ on the wifi Rebooting all Sonos devices Rebooting Router (and mesh devices)it takes multiple, multiple attempts to get the thing set up - one attempt will suddenly ‘succeed’SetupS2 Sub and Beam.Home network is strong (200Mbps).  Google Home mesh network to extend coverage with a Home device sat right next to the speakers.Anyone got any ideas?

I’ve switched to a new Fortinet network (Forti Access Point and Fortigate as my router) and I haven’t been able to reconnect my Sonos surround system onto this new network… The ARC gets on no problem, however when I try to connect any of the surrounds or the Sub to the ARC then it just fails. I’ve tried using only 2.4ghz band on the new wifi however it’s still having issues. The ARC is connected via wireless not ethernet.Is there a particular setting I should be looking at in the wireless configuration that might be causing the Sonos issues? These things are so frustratingly finicky and just don’t seem to work well and it’s ridiculous that they don’t support 5ghz. I can add the surround SL speakers individually to their own room however if I try connect them to the ARC it fails… I’ve also tried connecting the ARC via ethernet yet this still happens. “There was a problem adding your surrounds. Check network connection and make sure your products are powered on.” Diagnostic number: 19650

I’ve owned Sonos product since 2012. Brilliant. Many have purchased on my advice. However, as of late, Sonos is insufferable.My kit: two ZP:90s and a Move. Special note: my ZP:90s have always been wired Cat5e to my router, whereas “community” posts flagging up “Asus + Sonos” trouble are almost exclusively a WiFi setup.My .FLAC music Library resides on a NAS also connected Cat5e.Issues started 8-10 weeks ago. Except for (background) S1 controller updates which may have gone unnoticed, I had not pro-actively changed any equipment, wiring or configuration for over 12 months. My router is not set to “automatically” update firmware.Problem. Sonos “Rooms” unexpectedly “disappear” in S1 controller. Unplug/re-plug ZP:90 to (temporarily) remedy. Repeat as necessary :(Problem.
