Hi All,I have been debating getting a Sonos One speaker (still undecided on the One vs One SL but leaning towards the One SL refurb) and wanted to check in with folks on how well your Sonos One works with AirPlay 2. Does your Sonos One work well all the time, sometimes, or often has issues with AirPlay 2?This would be taking into account two things:General AirPlay 2 performance (smooth playback, music quality, hiccups, delays etc.) Multi speaker performance (either through Sonos speaker grouping, or AirPlay 2 speaker grouping)Would really appreciate hearing any feedback from the community :)

Do the beam (gen 2 ) work with sub gen 2?

I can connect my Play 5 with ethernet.  If I then remove the cable it connects to wireless.  however if I power cycle the play 5 it won’t connect to wireless.  Appreciate any assistance.

My current layout is I have a Sonos Amp with 4 in wall speakers 1 left front, 1 left rear, 1 right front, 1 right rear.  The left front and rear are on the left channel and the right front and rear are on the right channel.  The amp is connected to my TV via HDMI ARC and the tv controls the volume of the Amp.  My question is if I purchase a Sonos Beam Gen 2, is it possible to connect the Beam to the Amp to “act” as a center channel?  The tv currently controls the volume on the Amp, I would like the Amp and Beam to both work with the volume control of the tv.  Is this possible?  If so how would I connect this all together?  My TV does not have two HDMI ARC outputs it also has an optical out but I do not believe this works if the output is already designated to the HDMI ARC.  I don’t need the Amp to power the Beam, I would just like it to act as a center channel.  

Hello fellow SONOS users,I recently got my Beam GEN2 (upgraded from GEN1).  A curious thing i noticed by accident was the left side of my Beam GEN2 is slightly warm (despite not being in use). I am wondering if anyone else noticed this with their new Beam?  Contrast this with in use conditions where the ambient temperature would rise and I did notice with my previous GEN1 (not burning hot but warm for sure).  I’m trying to figure out if this is a nuance specific to GEN2 or not. Appreciate users feedback.Thank you.

Hi everyone... just received a sonos arc and I'm trying to connect to lg oled65c16la. I connected to hdmi 2.Going to sonos s2 app to configure TV, selecting connected to arc but sonos doesn't recognize it.When in TV I select cable hdmi arc there is no sound.I changed a lot of configuration disabling earc set pass through, auto, pcm. Same result in the app I always receive arc mode not connected.Also changed cable and hdmi 1, 2, 3.TV recognize that something is connected to hdmi and when I start testing connection from sonos app TV show hdmi 2 (or 1 or 3 depending where I put the sonos arc) is now available.Also disabled simplink... nothing I can't connect the TV to the soundbar.Anyone can help me?I'm getting crazy without any result

I have a tv mounted outside w/ two outdoor sonos/sonace speakers mounted on either side. I ran two speaker wires & two Cat6 wires in buried pipe from my basement 100 feet to my garage & then out to the tv/speakers. My modem & Amp are located in my basement.tv connected via one of the Cat6 cables to my modem speakers connected to new Sonos Amp in my basement one Cat6 cable currently not being usedI purposely did not run an HDMI cord from the basement to the tv as I was told it was too long of a run. Is there anyway to connect the amp (& ultimately speakers) to the tv using the one existing Cat6 cable? My garage is not insulated so I do not want to keep my amp in there - winter in Minnesota would kill it - not worried about the tv.  The amp is connected to my system currently & the speakers work great for music, etc., just not sure how to get tv audio through outdoor speakers at such a distance. Dear All I’m new to this sound engineering or speaker specifications.  But im enjoying this Sonos products Connect: Amp with pair of B&W M1 passive speakers and a Yamaha active subwoofer connected. I also have a Play1 device. I have been thinking of adding another pair of passive speakers to the Connect Amp.  I have read in forums and document that a 8Ohm speaker will be supporting for this setup.  But i wanted to know what difference will it make if I add another pair in the rear of my living room. Will I get a surround experience or just the replica of the FL&FR speakers.   Please help me understand and provide your suggestions.  I’m expecting a surround speaker environment.  Is it achievable.  ? Thank you.Ashok Chennai.

The latest Synology DSM updates disables NTLMv1 because it is not secure!Is it possible to get Sonos S1 to use NTLMv2 for better security?Or some other server protocol?Thx, Dave

I have a gen 1 play 5 and a Beam. I haven’t changed anything on the network but the last few days the controller can’t connect to Sonos. Sometimes resetting the router works, but other times not, and nothing else in troubleshooting list is working. Am using S1 as I have old play 5, but tried S2 today and it could find the Beam but not connect. At a loss

Hi Everyone,I received my Sonos home theater setup yesterday, which is being connected in the following way:Sonos Arc → Samsung 65F8000 HDMI ARCPS5 → Samsung F8000 HDMI 1Fios Cable → Samsung F8000 HDMI 2 Now I'm getting sound through the Sonos, but it’s showing up as stereo. I have the Fios and PS5 set to send out dolby, but it’s not taking place. In looking at my TV’s audio options, I am only able to select “receiver” for speakers. If I try to select external speaker, it switched back. In the digital out option, only PCM and DTS Neo 2 is available (no sound works with it). Dolby is greyed out. I know this is an older tv (2014), but it has ARC and should be able to send out Dolby Digital Plus. Any help is truly appreciated.

 just bought a Sonos One. trying to set uo a routine on my iPhone in Alexa. the timer function dirsnt work. just keeps playing music after the elapsed time. If I instruct the unit directly it stops after the requested time. 

I changed PCs and now cannot connect Sonos to my music library. I get the following error msg:Unexpected error occurred while importing playlists.Unexpected error occurred while importing playlists.Only one album, one track appears in the Sonos Controller Music Library area.I have re-mapped to the music files, and updated the music library numerous times.I have also checked standard ports and firewall rules, and have deleted/re-installed Sonos numerous times with and without Nortons. Here is my diagnostics confirmation #:1520953407 Thoughts?

Hello, few days ago i noticed when opening the sonos app that it said it couldnt be used with the system anymore ( arc + 2 sonos one sls as surround ). I updated and now im getting faint white noise over my music/movies etc from the SLs as soon as i start playing something. Playing source seems irrelevant since it does it both from my iphone ( apple music airplay ) and my LG CX. Also after stopping any sound/ source device it still plays the white noise for a few seconds then stops with a small pop ( when they become inactive i suppose ). Tried unplugging , nothing changes. My arc has no white noise. Tried resetting wifi network, no success ( even if wifi is down until they become inactive white noise can still be heard). Any ideas? Going crazy here.

Alright, here’s a new one: I recently moved and am getting set up in a new house, with a new network name, but all the same Sonos gear. Ideally I’d love for everything to reconnect EXACTLY AS IT WAS… including Sonos playlists! Obviously my Sonos account is still active, and I still have all of the speakers (and the Boost and Sub) - I just want to know if there’s anything special I need to do in reconnecting to preserve everything that I already had! Bonus points if anyone can confirm the Samsung remote control IR blaster will still work with the Playbar, haha Thanks!

Hello everyone, I have just bought a Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and it sounds fantastic. I can access Dolby Atmos via AppleTV, Dolby Digital Plus via Amazon Prime and PCM Stereo via iPlayer. However, when I watch a 4K Blu-ray or Blu-ray or with Dolby Atmos or Dolby TrueHD, it only displays Dolby Digital. I think I have all the connections and settings correct, so I’m flummoxed. I would be very grateful if anyone had any suggestions.SAMSUNG UE43RU7470UXXUSONY UBP X-800 

I have a Sonos Arc hooked up to a Sony A80J via eARC. Volume control using the TV remote works fine while watching TV. However, it doesn’t work while streaming music on the Arc; I have to open the app to manage volume. I tried the Remote Control setup in the app but it doesn’t detect the TV remote. Any suggestions on what I need to do to fix this?

I control my Sonos system using the iPhone app. Since the latest app update to 13.3.1 last week, the app started overriding the volume setting on my phone. If my iPhone volume for audio playback through the phone speakers is set to the lowest setting / silent, then open the Sonos app, the volume setting for phone playback is automatically reset to the Sonos system volume, even when I return to other apps. Is there a way to turn this off? I’m tired of constantly turning down the volume on my iPhone. (Yes, I have hardware volume controls turned off for the Sonos app.)

Long time Sonos user here.  I bought an Arc and while waiting for it,  I decided to move my Beam and Play 3s to S2 since I will need it for the Arc. I successfully moved the Beam and one Play 3 to S2.  I cannot add the second Play 3.  I did a factory reset and S2 sees the speaker and walks me though adding it.  I get the chime PIN thing and then it says that it is adding the speaker.  Then it craps out and says to unplug the speaker and try again.While this is happening,  I lose the first Play 3 that I successfully added.Prior to this,  these were a stereo pair under S1.  I went ahead and created a new S1 system with my older devices using SonosNET - that is working fine.  The S2 system is also using SonosNET as I have the Beam plugged into my router.  S1 is on channel 1 and S2 is on channel 11. All of my Sonos devices have a static IP assigned.  I removed that reservation for the two Play 3s and rebooted my router in order for them to grab new IPs.   Any ideas before I call Sonos?Than

Hello,I would like to change my 2 One SL, acting as satellites with Playbase and Sub setup, to 2 Roams. Will they act surround speakers? Can I just swap them and expect everything to work properly?

I’ve searched the web and can’t seem to find out why I’m not getting atmos on Netflix. I have a beam gen2 plugged into the hdmi arc on the tv with the supplied hdmi cable and the premium Netflix subscription. I’ve set the audio to use bitstream Dolby audio out. The tv has DD+ and my understanding is that I should get a compressed version of atmos but still atmos however in the s2 app it’s saying I’m getting Dolby digital plus 5.1

I got a new Sonos Port to replace an existing (and working) CONNECT:AMP. Going through the setup, it fails when trying to connect to WiFi. It says it must be 2.4GHz, despite this page clearly saying Port works with 5Ghz: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/126?language=en_USSo, I logged in to my router, turned off the 5Ghz radio and restarted. I confirmed on my phone that I’d reconnected to 2.4Ghz. However, when I try to set up Port again, I get the same message: unable to connect to WiFi, and a warning that it must be 2.4Ghz.Not sure where to go from here.

I have a Sonos Port with a dud channel.  Can’t find anyone to fix it.  Does anyone know of a repairer?

While they work perfectly fine, none of my Sonos devices that are connected via Ethernet or Sonosnet show up in my Unifi clients list.  The only device that shows up normally is my Roam, as it’s connecting via Wifi.  My other 8 devices do not show up in the Unifi Clients list if they are connected via Ethernet.  However, if I disconnect the one that’s on Ethernet, the devices will eventually start showing up in the list.There’s no problem, per se, but it’s damned peculiar.  And, at one time they did appear in the UI, and Unifi reported them them as being attached to the same port as the Bridge.  (This is expected behavior for daisy chained networking equipment.)Anyone else using Unifi wanna open their Clients tab and see how your Sonos devices are showing up? (UDM Pro, two Unifi Switches, and two WAPs) 

I just hooked up a new Beam Gen 2 to my LG TV via HDMI ARC and when the TV turns on it takes about 5 seconds for sound to start playing out of the Beam. I’ve tried unplugging and rebooting everything that is connected (cable box, fire stick, beam, Tv) and changing HDMI cord with no success. Sonos support also couldn’t seem to fix it. Is this normal?  Does anyone have a fix for this?
