General question: does boost help with connectivity issues when NOT using the Sonos mobile app?  I get drastically different results when streaming music through Sonos app and Apple Music. When stream from apps other than Sonos, performance is spotty and spottiness increases when streaming to higher number of speakers. 

Hi and thanks in advance! Currently buidling a home and have loved my Sonos 1 but want to have the in ceiling sets in the new home. I’ve read about how the amps work and have read multiple threads and still not exactly sure what my best option is. I want to have a set in my living room, another set in dining room and another set in my kitchen. Do I need a seperate amp for each location? Very rarely will I want to play all locations at the same time. Ive read you can only control the volume for all of them but can you pick a certain set that are playing and another set that is off/muted? Or do I need to just purchase 3 amps? I read some articles that talked about using the Monorprice but that is over my head a lilhttps://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=13727 Thanks in advance!

Hi Team, My new flat seems to come with two ceiling speakers (non Sonos/Unidentified Brand). They have a a 4 conductor wire running internally through the walls and currently the wires are clipped i.e.not going into anything. Since I already have an arc, can I just buy a Sonos Amp which would work with the 4 conductor wire ? If yes, how can I then make sure the TV which is currently connected to Sonos Arc through the HDMI Arc set up will have it's sound output not just from the Sonos Arc but also the ceiling speakers ? Do I need to connect the amp and arc through LAN for the wireless connectivity ?Can someone guide me ? Thanks 

As linked to above....my beam randomly turns off the microphone so you have to get up and turn it back on which defeats the point of using your voice.  It seems to happen randomly.  When it's on its own, and I can't be sure how or why it keeps disabling itself.  It has never failed to turn back on, but why does it turn off??

Can I add a Sonos Port to mutiple Sonos Rooms? I’d like to use 2 or 3 as audio sources for my russound audio controller. I’d like to integrate this with my home automation software to identify with outputs to enable in the russound. I currently do this with google Chromecast audios but they’ve become flakey.  Essentially what id like to do as an example is Port 1 in Living Room and Gym Room. When I play to Gym, the Port 1 will play the audio, my home automation system can see that Gym Room is playing and turn on the output zone for Gym on my russound controller. Port 2 would be Bedroom 1 and Outside rooms and so I can have mutiple streams playing simultaneously.

Hi guys,I’ve been using Sonos products for years and looking to expand my current kit into my home office.  I’d like to connect a Ray to my PC via optical. I’d also like to connect the Sonos Amp to my PC via optical (assuming this is necessary and the amp can’t pick up the signal via WiFi). The amp will be powering 2x Q Acoustics bookshelf speakers that will act as rears.  my PC only has one optical connection so with the above needing two optical connections, I’ve hit a roadblock. Does the amp need to be connected via optical if the Ray already is?  any thoughts or guidance would be very much appreciated!  

Hi,I have 2 old Sonos Play 1 working i S1, in stereo mode, and I bought recently a Sonos Ray surround. How can I combine them in a single app ,S2 ?

Purchased Playbar, Sub, 2 X Play 1’s and a Play 5.Playbar fails to power up. Am told it is not reparable.Wish to replace it with Beam Gen 2.Questions:Is the Beam GEN 2 compatible with the original Sub and Play 1’s for Surround?Can I (or must I) use Sonos Version 2 App for all ORCan I only use Sonos Version 2 App?

It looks like this is still a current unresolved issue. But going to ask the question anyway as I have noticed a quirk that someone might see as a clue.The Problem: For months now, Sonos no longer accesses the music library and Sonos alarms now default to the Sonos Chime.Environment: I have S2 app and current supported devices Play 1, 3 and a few others. I have been running Sonos and and various NAS since 2009, (currently QNAP TS453D fully up-to-date) I have done some reading on similar posts. This is not an SMB issue. I have tried all SMB settings on the NAS. This is not a firewall issue. I have tried fully disabling all rules. There is no 2 factor authentication on the account Sonos uses to access the NAS. This is not a network protocol issue. I have attempted enabling absolutely all supported protocols on the NAS. I have removed the library and attempted both the desktop Sonos App and the iOS app to add the multimedia library. Nothing physical has changed in the setup. Same speakers

Can we not just pluginto aux jack with out network ? Really app crashes will not recognize system ever other time I use it I have to troubleshoot spent 6 hours tryed all fixes none work so over thos any one want these 6 speakers for free im shooting them now 

I have a number of Sonos speakers including two play 5 speakers.  For some reason the play 5 speakers stopped working with Apple Airplay.  They still work with the Sonos app.  They show up in the Airplay list but none of our Apple devices can connect to the play 5s via Airplay.  The other Sonos speakers still work with Airplay.   How can I get the play 5s to start working on Airplay again?

I’ve just bought the Arc and I am extremely disappointed with the flat sound of dialogs (center speaker). It sounds like it is all trebble - no midtones, no bass.I think the Arc is capable to provide much richer dialogs, because there is “ok” midtone and bass in music.I’ve tried turning voice enhancement on, but that is worse.Any ideas?

Hello,I have my Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB turntable (purchased through SONOS) connected to my Port.  I am trying to listen remotely through my Five in an adjacent part of the room.  The volume is really low even when turned up all the way on my Five and the sound quality is poor as far as dynamic range.  I thought the Port would act as an amplifier.  Was I incorrect?  Any suggestions?  Thank you!

My Sub keeps dropping out randomly.As in it goes quiet for a bit then comes back on. Always comes on if I pause it and restart. Seems to do it more when I’m playing it medium to low volumes.Any ideas? 

Hi, I’m having a very strange issue with my Sonos move. The speaker will be working just fine and then out of the blue it appears to be no longer part of my system. It has never removed itself while it was playing, but one time the battery died,when I put it back on the charge my app asked me if I wanted to “add move” to my system. As if it was brand new. This also happens when I don’t use my Sonos system for a few days. I go to play music and the Move is the only speaker that is not playing and the app sees it as new again and wants me to add it. The second part of the problem comes in when I try to add it back to the system. The speaker plays it’s chime and the phone hears it but when I press the join button, nothing happens. I’ve tried multiple times. The only way to get the speaker to rejoin my network and app is to do a factory reset. After this, I can join it up and use it for a few days. This has happened 3 or 4 times now and is VERY annoying. Please help.

Hi! Can anyone tell me the distance in inches from the front feet to the back feet for the Pro-Ject T1 SB Turntable?I just ordered one yesterday and I’m now looking for a bookcase to put it on. All of the bookcases I have found that I like are slightly smaller in depth than the overall depth of the turntable. I don’t mind a bit of overhang so long as the feet are solid. The bookcase I like the best, for example, is 11.75” deep. I am hoping the feet of the turntable will fit on it.  Thank you. 

Hi everyone,I've just moved to a new house and we are trying to create a nice space for watching movie.I have an arc + a sub but I want to add some rear speakers.I'm hesitating between adding 2 era 300 or (just) 2 era 100 since my ceiling is very high and not straight, I've browsed a lot of threads here but couldn't find someone with the same ceiling.Even with true tuning trying to do is best, I'm not sure it's worth since the speakers will not be able to make the sound bounce from the top nor the side?Thanks for your help  

Waiting on a response from Level II support. I am trying to setup my Sonos Port, and it fails when asking to press the pairing button. I have tried:Wi-Fi and Ethernet.Multiple Setup devices.Disabling 5ghzEnabling DHCP snoopingEnabling IGMP snoopingEnabling MulticastEnabling STPSetting DNS server to defaultWPS2 and WPS2/3 I can see the device is connected with a valid IP and access the web portal. What am I missing?

EDIT: I was able to select Dolby Digital after restarting my AppleTV. But I am not able to select Dolby Digital+. Anything I can do to get that option? I recently set-up an Arc Soundbar, Sub (Gen 3) and 2 Era 100 speakers for surround sound. I noticed while watching TV Samsung QN82Q70RAFXZA) that there was no sound from the Era speakers so I checked the TV Sound Settings and for some reason I cannot select Dolby. The only option is PCM. I swear prior to installing the Era speakers that I had it set to Dolby. I double checked the HDMI and it is plugged into the ARC port on the back of my Samsung TV and plugged into the Arc Soundbar. Not sure why I am unable to select Dolby from the TV Sound Settings.Additionally, I checked my AppleTV settings as well since that is primarily what we watch TV and Movies with. What am I missing or doing wrong?Red HDMI plugged into Arc Soundbar.Samsung TV Sound Setting won't let me change to Dolby Digital even though I am plugged into the ARC HDMI port.Sams

Hello!I am my wits end, any help would be extremely appreciated!We use Spotify/ Sonos to play music in our business, however whilst we’re away sometimes the staff pop on their own music which isn’t idealIs there a way we can limit what is played? We’re happy to buy any piece of kit or use a different steaming service. Thanks!

I had my system set up to stream audio through Roku including an an amp for ceiling speakers, arc, and sub. It all worked great and could also stream music through the Sonos app on my phone through these speakers. I had to change my Roku device and the surround sound stopped working. After having it fixed now my Sonos app can’t find the arc and amplifier. Am I missing something? 

My roam won’t turn on. I plug it in and it’ll turn on. App shows the battery is 100% charged. This is the most buggy Sonos product I’ve ever owned. Is there a way to get rid of this issue?

Hello,I’d like to setup 4 Sonos One speakers in 4 different rooms (1 speaker in each room), and play music on all of them simultaneously.I’d like to confirm is this possible? Finally, I also assume they all need to connect to the same wifi network right, or is it possible to connect 2 speakers to a different network? Reason I ask is one of the rooms is quite far and has its own wifi. Thanks
