using speakers without broadband internet.

No more broadband internet but still want to use the speakers 1st Gen. is there cable or why can’t my mobile internet pic it up?

Just as a note, your router can still function, even if unit is not connected to the outside world. Your phone and speakers would connect to it, and assuming you have local music , play it.

Agreed, but still can be used standalone, which was how I interpreted the question asked. 

 

I took it to mean actual passive speakers.  Tomayto/Tomahto.

So I no longer have internet. Can I get cable for speaker to iPhone?

I’ve no longer got internet so wondered if there was a cable to speaker from iPhone or other way to just use the speakers, as speakers.

Yeah, just wanna connect iPone with cable to speaker? I no longer have broadband internet, you see.

Not quite. The speaker still requires a network device to handle the data between the phone and the speaker. On the other hand, you could just use AirPlay 2 once the speaker has been set up.

Sonos makes networked speakers, not direct connection speakers.
