I am thinking of upgrading my old S1 system components and have the following upgrade discounts registered:One (Gen 1) 15% discount registered Play:1 15% discount registered Play:5 (Gen 1) 30% discount registeredUpgrading the Play:5 to a Five would use my 30% discount, no problems. But last week I would have been able to use the 15% upgrades on, say Era 100s - this now seems to be unavailable. Consequently I can’t see any way to use my 15% upgrades.Anyone else having this issue?
Having asked a question a year ago about random drop-outs, failure to connect to my music library on a home server, of my Sonos Theatre set-up and not getting any further forward, whether it be by many miscelleneous adjustments or calls to Sonos support, my only conclusion is that I need to switch my Virgin Media Hub 4 into modem mode, and fit a a decent router. I would appreciate insights from others who have tried this solution to end drop-outs.
HiFirst of all let me preface this novella 🙂 by saying I do not consider myself an Audiophile; which by one definition are:“…an exceptional breed of people who are fascinated by pure audio, motivated by sound quality and addicted to audio gadgets. Audiophiles take their passion for music one step further. They're curious about how songs are recorded and the science behind how sounds are reproduced”.With that said let’s begin….Some of you may have read my posts wherein I talk about “stereo separation”. IMO 99% of what one hears musically is not “stereo separation” in its purist form. What one does hear is music and vocals emanating from two speakers spaced at least 6 feet apart where there is a “sweet spot” in the center. The listener has a sense that all instruments and vocals are “dead “center providing the optimum listening experience. The people to blame for this misconception of what is “stereo separation” IMO are the mixing engineers. They rationalize the mixing strategy by sayin
After having spent about 4 hrs in limbo on the phone with various Sonos customer service staff about why it is that my equipment cannot connect to my Wifi, the 4th agent had the audacity to tell me that L2 is suggesting that I hard wire my equipment because that is the only way it will work in this configuration, the configuration being a simple Wifi setup in my new home. The audacity… So I spent upwards of 2000+ dollars on a Premium set of media equipment for its Wireless capabilities just to be told that its rendered useless now ? It’s not even 5 yrs old. How can this be ? At this point, I think I deserve money back for this, cause this is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. God help you if you ask for an escalation, still on the call waiting for an email or ticket system or manager or something !!! It’s been 20 mins already… Jeez…. Like seriously ?
We have multiple Sonos components.Playbar w/ sub. Play5. 4 x Play3. 4x Play1. We use the Sonos 2 App. Our WiFi is strong throughout the house. the issues: Speakers get out of sync while playing the same song and when grouped. 2. Speakers will stop playing for no reason. 3. Speakers will not play. 4. speakers will play erratically. Music plays then stops then starts then stops. 5. Speakers will not be found. 6. Music services that previously worked stopped working. These problems are so severe the system is not usable. We will be trashing our entire Sonos system. No amount of troubleshooting has resolved the issues. No information from Sonos (the company) has helped resolve the issue. We have been longtime customers and we are very disappointed in the decline of the business playback quality. Adios Sonos!!!

Looking for a solution to Sonos cutting in and out. I’m an IT guy with multiple sonos connects hardwired to a solid enterprise grade home network. Tried starting over with factory reset for my Sonos Connects and Five. Worked for a while but much to my dismay, cutouts once again. Happens on XM and Spotify which are my main sources, both of which work perfectly well via desktop and phone apps. Sonos not so much. Very frustrating, especially since there is no diagnostic capability to help trouble shoot this mess. Have been a Sonos user for 5+ years with no issues. Lots of posts on this issue, any magical advise on this issue.
Hello Has anyone recently returned a product? If so can you please let me know how you did this and which method you used to contact Sonos? I’ve contacted the support number live chat, support@sonos.com and even ceo@sonos.com out of sheer desperation but can’t get anywhere! I purchased the product directly from Sonos so if this happened I could rely on their customer service but so far it’s the worst I’ve experienced. I have a faulty Arc and contacted customer support who offered to replace the product. They sent an email the following day which said I would receive a follow up email with options on how to return it. I didn’t receive the follow up email and despite following up that email 4 times and contacting their online chat a further 3 times I am yet to receive any instructions on how to return the faulty item. It’s now been almost month and each time I speak to customer support I get equally evasive replies that I’ll receive an email within 24-48 hours or the representative will
Such a major feature missing! Will be super helpful to add it. We'd love to listen to audiobooks on our Sonos system while doing house chores but the inability to play at our normal speed or 1.5x or 2x makes us not use it. Please add this functionality.
Hi,It would be nice to have a portal that would allow monitoring and management - such as performing updates, changing settings and checking on any issues for all client accounts. this is available with most AV & network brands used in integration and sonos already have all devices connected to the network (and internet), as a means to provide quick support and remote updates. In addition, it would be good to be able to provide usage rights to sonos devices in the same installation - i.e. being able to have separate user accounts within the same system and then determining which devices are available to the specific accounts within the same system. RegardsK.
For those of you in the warm US climates or anywhere in the world …count your blessings. Pics are in Kansas City area.
A very interesting article was posted today from Bloomberg about Sonos’ 2024 (and beyond) product releases. It includes headphones, a set-top box, a new Roam, a new sound bar, and more. Here is the summary by Engadget (because of the Bloomberg paywall):https://www.engadget.com/sonos-long-rumored-headphones-will-reportedly-arrive-by-april-2024-195833525.htmlIf this is accurate, 2024 will be an exciting year for Sonos.
While watching a football game last night on Arc + surrounds and Sub, the audio portion stopped and this random image and sound began to play (image) I saw it was Apple Music, however this is not in my music collection nor have ever played it. It appeared out of nowhere and I was not able to return to game until shut off the TV and closed Sonos app and waited a few minutes. Or it may gone away on its own? I would like to know how or what causes this phenomenon?
Hi allSo back in nov during the crazy Sonos sale, bought the arc at a discount of 809 usd. In the country that I’m in, the official Sonos goes for 1285 usd. The arc is sitting in the store as this was a purchase for the anticipation of my new house in q2 2024.It’s considered brand new and now, there’s a buyer wanting to buy my arc for 1134usd.Now, that’s where the dilemma lies. Should I:A) sell and wait for arc 2. B) sell and wait for another arc 1 discount, essentially getting a bigger discount for arc 1. C) do nothing and focus on energy or something else like house renovation planning.Thoughts?
Unfortunately, I’m experiencing the same issue @jnnnn posted about earlier. On Dec 8 I discussed my Arc issues with a tech via phone. She told me “this is a known issue” and said the defective Arc would be replaced. A ticket was generated, I was told to expect an email with details pertaining to the return. To date, I’ve not received an email regarding the return. Despite 3 chat sessions and a phone session each of which ended with the explanation that the next level tech assigned to resolve the return was “not available”. To get the same response on 4 separate occasions is…poor. Sonos support, anybody out there?
I have used Sonos in Chicago and also in New Jersey. I have had many problems connecting from my iPhone. Sometimes I want sound in one room, but my iPhone cannot detect the exact room. There seems to be a lot of connectivity issues. I have experienced joy with Amazon Alexa because she always gets my song right and plays it on time. Unfortunately, Sonos cannot figure out what I want. Lady Gaga? Elton John? Just play it. And, if you have these long sound bars and you want to turn the volume off or make the volume lower, why is it so difficult to figure out? I have spanned my hands on this stupid bar, and I cannot get it to turn off. Sonos devices are not user friendly.??
Hello, I know the subject has already been covered but I'd like to play Hi-res audio files encoded at 96 KHz and Sonos still doesn't support this encoding unit. Is sonos working on this feature ?
I sometimes choose music to play by scrolling through albums in Music Library I have on my NAS. On this occasion I chose “Forever” by the Spice Girls (Don’t judge me!). When I click it this is what I saw:-I was confused to see duplicate track numbers and I immediately thought I never thought The Spice Girls recorded Bridge Over Troubled Water! Anyway I have another album called “Forever” by Aled Jones. So this is clearly buggy behaviour when scrolling albums. It’s not the end of the world obviously and I could fix it by changing the name - It might even work if I put in an invisible character?
I have several new Sonos speakers (including the new Era 300) and notice that the ‘S’ and ‘T’ sounds in several songs sound very thin and ‘tinny’ (almost like coming from ‘cheap’ tweeters). What I’d like to do is turn down the treble a bit (highest highs) without losing the mid-range frequencies. Therefore, instead of just two sliders (Bass & Treble), I’d like to see no less than five sliders (Bass, Lows, Mids, Highs, and Treble). I suspect doing this would be fairly simple to code into the app and would resolve tonality issues for many Sonos users.Sonos could go one step further and allow users to save a few profiles for different types of music (perhaps as a future update)...
I live in the UK and I want to share my first experience of returning a defective product. My Sub Mini died and following a diagnostic check with a Sonos technician it was agreed the defective unit would be returned for replacement. I dropped off the unit to my local UPS collection point yesterday and they, UPS, confirmed it is in their possession. The Sonos technician did not mention the destination for the return was Poland or about the option of Advanced Replacement. Consequently I have to wait for the unit to arrive at the Polish site before Sonos will send me the replacement. There is no timeline on when I will receive the replacement. The Advanced Replacement option would have accelerated the shipment of the replacement before the the delivery of the defective unit to Poland. I have asked Sonos for Advanced Replacement but they say it’s not possible because the defective unit is in transit to Poland. We live and learn 😪😪
2 weeks ago a case was created regarding a tax issue and each time I call for a status update I hear “It’s been pushed” “I have escalated it” “It’s gone to our specialty team”. When a customer calls and you tell them its been escalated, you should hear something in less than 2 weeks or what’s the point of using those buzz words. I even asked for a supervisor to call me. 3 days later, nothing. This will be the last time I buy a Sono’s product if this is the kind of after sales service we can expect.
Hi Admin, please could you advise how or change my Sonos community (visible name) please? ThanksN
Several product ideas here. Please pass these along as appropriate. Context first. My home is an open floorplan apartment with a balcony. I use a ceiling-mounted projector (BenQ TK850, though it may be replaced) paired with a Sonos Arc, Two Sonos Ones, and a Sub. I also have two Ikea bookshelf speakers, a satellite One for an adjacent room, and a Sonos Roam. Roku Ultra is my content source. Limitations in the Sonos Arc (an ARC receiver port, but no HDMI pass-through) and the projector (stereo-only ARC port) necessitate the use of a niche product ($200-250) called an HDFury Arcana to connect the Roku, projector, and content source and support surround/ATMOS. The wiring for the setup requires 20-30 feet of HDMI cabling between the projector and the rest of the solution, which can be problematic. The Good: it sounds great when it’s working! The Bad: it’s somewhat unreliable. The introduction of the HDFury Arcana and the long cabling mean that it can take a few tries to get it all wor
I returned (unopened) architectural speakers in the same box it was delivered in. We just bought an extra set we don’t need…I sent the return back through FedEx and followed all of Sonos return requirements. The package was returned a month ago, received and signed for at their Louisville, KY factory, yet my credit card has not been refunded. I waited a few weeks and then called customer service. They followed up through email saying, “they don’t have record of my return.” I then had to provide the FedEX receipt and now my return is being, “investigated.” Whatever that means. Please refund my credit card ASAP. It’s been over a month. I’m actually typing this on Christmas Day…. It’s hard to think about losing over $700 dollars…. Please process my return so I can enjoy the New Year…. I did everything asked. I even provide the FedEX proof of delivery. Please, please, please, find out what happened at the factory in Louisville, KY. Moderator Note: Removed case number from post
