I have 2 Move speakers , mainly for versatility of indoor and outdoor. When indoor, I’d like to get a bit more bass. Would getting 2 Fives to work with my 2 Moves be worthwhile to achieve this? Or would it not offer anything? Assume if all connected to WiFi they would work in synchrony?

I just got the Pro-ject T1 Phono SB and got the Sonos 5 with it as well. I think I’ve set it up right and it’s playing accurately through the record on the Sonos 5 but the quality is really poor. The Pro-ject turntable has a built-in amp so I cant figure out the issue I’m having with sound quality. Is it the turntable or the speaker or the connections between both?

I have a Sonos amp connected to my computer. The line-in autoplay works to detect loud audio, but the line-in playback on Sonos stops every time the game or movie is a little bit quiet. I have to go back in to the app and press play dozens of times a movie, or gaming session. The other option is to adjust my computer’s volume by leaving the game or movie, and adjusting the volume slider in Windows. This causes a notification sound, which triggers the autoplay. I’ve heard the last half of that audio hundreds of times a day. Is there any way to leave the line-in playback on? If not, please send in a feature request because this is making me hate my Sonos system every time I use it.

Folks - I read multiple threads about this topic and am so new to SONOS that I didn’t understand a thing. So here I go again and please explain the possibilities:I bought a Sonos Home Theater system Immersive Set with Arc couple of months ago - as y’all know it comes with an Arc + Sub (Gen 3) + a pair of Sonos one smart speakers The way I have them setup in my media room is - Arc is sitting right below/in front of my wall mounted TV, Sub is sitting on the right side of the TV and sonos one pair are setup in the two corners of the room behind me (behind the couch where we watch from) Now I bought another pair of Sonos one smart speakers - Can’t find a way to link them to the Arc so that I can make the system Arc+Sub gen 3+LS+RS (which already exists) + the two new One smart speakers The only way it allows me on the app is to have them created separately as a Studio pair which then don’t link to the arc! I have Sonos Arc with Sub and 2 Speakers configured using Sonos App as one room. For projector, I have BenQ HT3550i. It has 2 HDMI outputs. I have connected it to the Arc and I have audio on the Arc alone. However, no sound on the Sub and Surrounds. I was expecting the sound to be across Sub and Speakers through the Sonos Magic. Has anyone had this setup? How would I be able to configure?

If I set an alarm with Google Assistant on the Sonos One, will the alarm show in the Sonos app? Also, if I set an alarm with the Sonos app, is Google Assistant aware of it? I’m trying to troubleshoot alarm problems and right now, the Google Assistant and the app don’t seem to be aware of the other’s actions. Thanks.

A bit weird one, Samba 4.15.5-5.el8 came out last month for my NAS boxen hosting iTunes library for Sonos S1.Automated patching kicked in and now my Play 5 Gen 1 cannot connect to NAS anymore. Strangely Play 1 and Playbar continue to work just fine.Error I get is “Unable to play ‘X’ - access to //1.2.3.4/Share denied.” Reset/reboots of Play 5 have no affect. Downgrading server side to previous samba-4.15.3-0.el8.x86_64 version immediately fixes Play 5 problems. Same server side configuration used.Relevant smb.conf snippet:# sonos kludgery        ntlm auth = ntlmv1-permitted        server min protocol = NT1 Adding “client signing = disabled does not help”. Running samba in debuglevel=3 offers no clues that I could spot. Any thoughts?

I’m still using my SONOS speakers (playbar, sub, 5 and 1) from 2016. I’m planning on getting a turntable and want to stream the music through all of the speakers. Currently, all of the speakers are connected via Wi-Fi.Questions:(1) Will the Port make this all work?(2) If I get a turntable without a preamp, will I need the SONOS Amp?Another advantage of getting the Port is that I will be able to stream directly from Apple AirPlay 2.Thank you in advanced.

I have a Sonos Arc and looking to add rear speakers. I was wondering if I can just have one Sonos Beam as a rear speaker to pair with the Arc, instead of getting with Sonos Ones?

Hi - I’m only getting Stereo PCM when I open the Sonos app and view ‘About My System’ Current setup:Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub Gen3, Sonos/ Sonance Architectural Speakers connected to Connect:Amp Gen2 (rear surround), Apple TV 4K, Sony X900F.The TV does not have eARC but does have ARC with Dolby Digital Plus pass through enabled. So I realize I wouldn’t get TrueHD (which streaming services don’t provide anyways) but I do expect to get better than Stereo PCM.Any settings I can modify to get a compressed version of Dolby Atmos/Dolby Digital Plus? I can’t even get multichannel PCM right now.When using the native android TV apps it does show Dolby Atmos but I would prefer to not to use that horrible interface.Super disappointed right now to spend this much on a Sonos setup and only get Stereo.

HiWe are using a Playbar connected with 2 x One SL in a surround setup on 2.4Ghz. The setup has been working well, but time to time the sound disappears in the One SL. However I can pause/play the sound on the Playbar from the button on the SL.Sometimes it helps rebooting both router and Sonos devices, but now I am not able to get sound in the SL’s. I have also tried to remove the surround setting from the Playbar and reconfigure. Nothing helped. I have sent diagnostics with the ticket: 1679645150Best Regards Martin

I was just logged on to my server which has my music library on it and noticed 120 SMB connections from my various Sonos devices to the music share. There are tens of connections from today and each of the last few days. Is this normal? I’ve never noticed it happening before. Thanks Jon.

Hello,I’ve read all the similar topics I could find but I can’t get my Music Library to load in Sonos S2 on my Mac Mini running Monterey 12.3.1. I’ve both shared the folders and unshared the folder, changed the privacy settings for Sonos, and looked at my router settings to see if there’s anything there I can change. The router doesn’t have anything listed under USB storage devices, despite the fact I have two drives connected via USB C. If I load the native iTune folder the one song I have in there loads. Unfortunately all my music is sitting on external drives. I’d appreciate any advice you could offer, please.Thank you.

I would like to have both a home theater setup and a music listening setup. Looking over the Sonos products and guides, it seems that a pair of Sonos Five speakers are a good option for music, normal stereo stuff, maybe with a sub. Looking at home theater, though, they recommend beam and arc. I’m not clear on what they recommend for channels behind you in surround sound.So, would it be reasonable to put the two Sonos Five speakers in the back of the home theater, and the arc in front? Or can the Sonos Five speakers be in the front in place of an Arc or Beam?Generally I’m trying to avoid redundancy, such that speakers are used for both purposes. I woudk appreciate suggestions, thanks! 

Before I separated my wifi mesh to stop band steering, I could use my Play 5 Gen2 L+R stereo and Gen3 sub to watch movies from line-in via the tv and listen to music although, the sub would usually appear as a “?”. When I used trueplay, the music would play for about 5 seconds, then the sub would stop working, followed by the right speaker and the sub would disappear from the network.After 3~4 hours on the phone with Sonos, I arrived at separating the wifi to 2.4 and 5 Ghz and placing the speakers all on 2.4GHz. The speakers now can trueplay, but now the line-in from the tv will only play the music track with no voice track.Does anyone have any insight into resolving this or should I just factory reset all the speakers and start again?

Hi… I‘ve had a Roam for awhile now and it has worked great. I had it set up with Alexa. I keep it sitting on the Sonos charging pad. When I’m using it, it’s usually off the pad. When finished, l leave it off the pad. It goes to sleep in about 30 minutes. And it stays in sleep mode until I’m ready to use it again.A few days ago I set it up to use Google Assistant. Everything seemed fine. But now I’m noticing when I leave it off the charger and it goes to sleep, it will wake itself up (status lights go on). I didn’t do anything. It will go back to sleep after 10 for so minutes, but it seems to come on again by itself at some point. Over the course of a day, I think this is happening over and over, and this behavior is causing the battery to drain. To test, I kept the Roam next to me (not on charger) while I worked. It went to sleep. But about 30-45 minutes later, I heard a Sonos One (with Google Assistant) I also have in the room beep on it’s own (not because it heard the wake phrase… I

I’ve got a Sonos Arc connected via hdmi to a Sony TV, with a gen3 sub. No Sonos products in the house are hard wired to network. I’m attempting to pair an amp for rear surrounds, but cannot get the amp to pair. I’ve tried every trouble shooting step I can think of, including factory resetting every piece of sonos equipment on the network, but cannot get them to pair. Is there a specific sequence that these need to be added in?

When someone talks to Alexa in my kitchen (Sonos one), it dims the audio (whilst replying) on my living room Arc. The rooms aren’t so close that the Arc is hearing the request. 

2.0, 5.1, 7.1 iterations. Can someone explain to me what this means and what it doesn’t mean? Confused if it’s good or right. I wish Sonos would do some kind of spreadsheet with explanations and whether it’s right or not for setup.

I have had the Amp since mid January. Been mostly playing through outdoor 6 ohm speakers so, to respect neighbours, have not put the volume up too high. Yesterday I acquired some Dali Oberon 5 speakers for indoors. These are 6 ohm speakers also. I have connected all for speakers to the Amp though a simple 2 way switch and have NOT played both pair together. Twice with big sound tracks when the volume gets to about 60% the Amp goes into fault mode. As I have read that Sonos amp can happily drive a pair of 6 ohm speakers I am assuming it has nothing to do with mismatching impedance. How do I rectify this issue. 

There’s a 100% hang on startup when starting the S2 controller on MacOS Big Sur (11.5.2 20G95) when the computer is connected to a VPN with Global Protect. In my case the VPN is on 10.0.0.0/8 and the local network is 192.168.1.0/8. The Sonos hardware is connected to the 192.168.1.0/8 subnet. If I disconnect from the VPN everything works fine. If I then re-connect to the VPN after the Sonos controller starts it continues to work fine. When on the VPN the controller boots up and populates the three “System/Now Playing/Select a Music Source” columns correctly. The fact that the “Now Playing” column is correct indicates that it successfully discovered the Sonos cluster. However, about 2 seconds later the app freezes and I get the spinning-ball-of-death. What’s weird is if I force-quit the app is actually recovers for a second and starts working but then quits. I think the SIGTERM or AppleEvent is somehow breaking the deadlock/hang mentioned below. Here’s the callstack for the main thread.
