See this thread -bbc-stations-though-google-assistant-defaults-to-tunein-6868629 I have no idea how you justify closing it with no fix. I am forced to use alexa but it is very definitely not a fix for me.

HiI have had a lot of trouble with my S1 system dropping speakers. I checked through my network and made some changes. It seems a bit better. All the devices have come back. However, it now sees no services. Spotify for example. sonos.com sees all my devices and says No Subscriptions. Spotify still shows sonos as connected to it. The sonos system seems to become much more fragile….I can play nothing.ThanksTerry 

We have a fairly old Sonos set-up: Playbar and two Play:3 surrounds, with the TV sound delivered via an optical cable.  It used to be rock-solid but, in recent months, it’s become insanely unreliable.  For example:The Sonos app can take 5+ seconds to connect. It used to be instant. (Nothing has changed in our networking setup and the problem happened long after we’d upgraded to S2) Sound from the TV will be perfect for days and then it will just start dropping out… eg no sound for 5-20 seconds… and when this happens it happens several times.  We changed the optical cable (no improvement) and then thought it was the TV so bought a new one(!) and STILL get the issue. Music played through the Sonos app (eg from Spotify) will also periodically stop. We have a very reliable high speed fibre connection so it’s unlikely to be a connectivity issue.Given the above, I’m convinced it’s the Sonos system that is somehow messed up. Before, going down the support route I figured maybe I should just t

Could I connect the Sonos Amp with the HDMI Arc or Sonos port via RCA and have the amp send sound to the Sonos ones in stereo? And I’m the same fashion can I do this with fives?

My play 1 speaker is dead , no light … I have tried to reset it … nothing happens and it’s not the cable either , what could it be ? 

I have an older Sonos system and just bought one more sub (gen3) I tried to update to S2 and at the same time i updated the speakers to fit this while trying to add the 2nd sub. I am not able to install the 2nd sub. I dont even see it when trying. (Frustrated) Has anybody tried this with success? I disconnected the 1st sub and tried to install the 3gen sub. Still didnt see it. 

Can you adjust rear surround sound speaker volume with arc and amp for rear speakers?

I have a tivo edge and trying to setup the remote to control the volume of the Arc.  The Tivo remote works just fine with my TV - turns on and off and selects the input without issues.  The remote uses IR.  To program the remote to control the arc, the Tivo instructions are to select a A/V device from the Tivo remote setup menu and try the different codes to see what works with the Arc. There is not an option to select any Sonos codes, so you apparently must use a code from another brand,  My research says thet the Denon codes work with the Arc - but not mine!  I have tried all the Denon codes and none of them work. My remote is in IR mode and has new batteries.  How do I set up my TIVO remote to control the volume of the arc. 

I recently installed a new NAS on my network and in trying to add the network path in the S1 software it dont appear to want to accept it. I can add it no problem using the S2 software but not the S1. Also, I cannot seem to delete the old NAS from the S1 software.  Anyone have a suggestion on what may be causing this?

Should I be waving the iPad from floor to ceiling while aiming towards the walls or should I be walking around the room waving and aiming directly at the Arc. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Arc/2 gen 3 subs/2 ones using iPad gen8. Thanks.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?This is the 2nd time this has occurred. After a brief power outage my remote control no longer controls the playbar. I try to relearn the remote but it says it’s not detected. After the 1st time it happened I setup a new surge protector and battery backup but I didn’t have the playbar plugged into the battery port so it lost power again.The 1st time phone support helped resolve the issue but now they just keep reading a script and fail to understand the same remote has been working for years with no problems. They keep telling me my remote is not a supported device even though it’s worked previously. I’ve tried rebooting, relearning, but nothing works. I know there’s no problem with the remote because it controls my TV just fine. The app has no problem controlling the playbar and the sound from the playbar still works just fine. 

Am I able to concurrently use the TOSLINK digital audio out and the Coaxial digital out on a Sonos Connect?

When I transfer my music from Spotify to my Sonos Five, the sound is heard as when you have trueplay activated but in my case I have it turned off, I have to go to the settings to turn the trueplay button on and off so that it sounds normal again.  I don't know if this has to do with the Sonos Roam when it used the Sound Swap function with the five and it would have had something configured from the other speaker, this problem did not happen to me before, I hope someone knows about it.

Sonos are playing my playlist in wrong order. Sometimes it begins from top of the lists over and over again.I have no randomizer and I dont want it to be played randomly. I have checked as much as i can but no success.What to do??

Can you use a 2112 mac as a music server with S1

My original Roam died and has been replaced under warranty.  Since the problems seemed to be power related, I’m thinking of only using this one on USB-C and keeping the wireless charger in a drawer.  Is this paranoid?  The original would regularly drain faster than it’d charge on the wireless pad but the new one seems to be behaving and I was wondering what experiences everyone else had.  I may even try out the voice assistant again on USB-C with this guy, it killed the battery faster than anything else on the first one.  

Hello! I would like to find out the best recommended  connectors to connect two sonos 5 speakers to a record player with standard RCA jacks. any links to the correct connectors would be appreciated.  I am using a U Turn record player and two sonos 5 speakers.   

I have an Echo dot and a bunch of Sonos Play speakers. All up to date software. I have the Sonos skill enabled on the Alexa app but when I go to settings>services and voice>add a service in the Sonos app there is no option for Amazon Alexa, only Amazon Music. I’m based in the UK. Any ideas why it’s not available?

Original topic has been closed ^So this is what I’ve found...After a few months the issue is still happening. Not as often, but still once in a while.Re. the VPN. Weirdly, although Sonos is already bypassed, the issue actually seems worse when it’s completely disabled  (‘VPN’ is Blokada by the way - I only just use it for a bit of light ad-blocking).So I don't think that's the problem.One thing I have noticed is that sometimes when I open the app and go to favourites, the "All your favourites in one place" screen will show up for a split second, and then the favourites will be displayed as normal.This may be because favourites are system-wide and not device specific. So it is as if Sonos hasn't had chance to load them in yet from wherever they are stored. And every now and again it takes a few minutes for the system to get it’s act together. Yesterday I added two Play 1 speakers to my home (First time setup). In the sonos app where you add music services, spotify don’t show up. Not on the phone and and not on the desktopp add. A whole lot of other music services shows up. From my spotify app i can detect the sonos speakers but when i try to connect to them it just tries to connect endlessly. And nothing happens. I can connect to my google home speaker just fine from the app.From the sonos app i can play music through the sonos speakers with the other music services, so the speakers are connected and works, it is that I can’t add the spotify app to sonos, and if i use the spotify app it wont connect to the speakers. I have previously connected to sonos speakers in my dads home from the spotify app with no issues.What I’ve tried so far: Reinstalled both the spotify and sonos app.Rebooted the network, rebooted the sonos speakers.   

Just got a new Spectrum dual band 2.4/5 MHz combined router and my older Beam will no longer connect to WiFi. How can I reconnect?

A little background: I’ve had my system since the ZonePlayer and big standalone controller days. Today it consists of Play:1 and One SL speakers, with S2 Android apps and also Windows apps. I have a large library of MP3 and WMA songs on a Synology NAS. I have many imported playlists in old school WPL format, and generally play from these playlists. The imported playlists number below the 1,000 max and 40,000 total songs limits I found in this support article. I do have 2 of the speakers plugged into ethernet; I figured it wouldn’t hurt.In recent months, I’ve started to see sporadic issues in which during playback of an imported playlist, the current song will stop about halfway in, and Sonos will advance to the next song. And often this cycle will repeat, sometimes righting itself and playing normally, but just as often starting and skipping songs continually going forward. Merry Christmas everybody :)I just bought a roam SL to my father for christmas and i have been trying on several devices (3 different iphones, and 2 ipads) to connect the product with wifi and sonos app. But it refuses to do so.I have switched off the “private connection” for wifi network on each device. i have rebooted my router i have reinitialized the roam sl between each try i have logged out; deleted and reinstalled sonos appNothing works. I hope someone here can help us.Thank you 

Frequently when I select a song from my music library, even from the app on my computer where my music library is hosted, I get the “unable to play xxxxxx, the server cannot be found” error.If I clear the error message and tap play several times though, without changing, resetting, or touching any part if the system in any way, the song will start playing. So in some sense it’s a false error message, as all the devices  are on and connected and ready, and the system can do it, just not right away. It happens more often than not when I select a song these days, and it’s annoying. Anyone know what might be behind that or how to make it better?
