 I recently purchased a Sonos Arc, Gen3 Sub and 2 ERA 300 speakers. My wife and I watch a lot of movies and listen to music and when playing music the sound from these speakers is fantastic!  When listening to movies the sound is slightly underwhelming but I suspect this is due to incorrect settings.  I have the Arc connected to my Samsung TV  using the ARC HDMI cable into the ARC HDMI port. My Sky box is connected by HDMI to the TV and we watch films through this box using the onboard apps, Netflix and Amazon Prime. The speakers have been tuned with Trueplay and all work yet when watching movies, the Sonos app always shows Tv playing Stereo PCM. I’ve found various Atmos films but it always stays as Stereo PCM. I have tried various settings under the sound option on my TV.Under DTV Audio, I’ve left this as ‘Auto’ because changing any of these settings doesn’t seem to make much difference. On the ‘Sound Out’ there are two options - Auto or PCM. I’ve just bough a Sonos One for my home office which has it’s own router. (I have two already in the house on a different wifi network.) It wasn’t playing Spotify or radio stations properly so I disabled the skill in the Alexa app and when setting up I was prompted with the attached.I’ve selected ‘System 1’ which is now working but the devices in the house (system 2) are now not working properly with Spotify, etc.Does this mean I can’t use two different setups at home? 

Hello- I currently have a sonos soundbar, sub and 2 one sls in my living room. I'm about to add an amp and two outdoor speakers. When I hook them up, should I keep the amp and outdoor speakers seperate from the sound bar/inside speakers? Or should I hook them all together?My concern is that I want the inside speakers to play what's on the TV, while being able to stream music outside. But, would I also be able to occasionally be able to play the same music inside and outside?First world problems, lol.

I am having problems recognizing if spatial audio is even working or not. In my living room I have a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and 2x Era 100 which are set up as rear speakers behind my sofa and connected to the Beam. Also I have a Sub Mini connected to the Beam. The other day before I had the Sub Mini I felt like I could hear what Spatial Audio is all about but now since the Sub Mini is connected I don’t really hear anything spatial. If I disconnect the Sub Mini it seems better but not sure if I am imagining that. In my bedroom I have 1xEra 300. Not really noticing any spatial audio at all! I have done Trueplay several times in both rooms and the spatial audio switch is on in the settings. Any ideas? A good song to use for testing? Do I need 2xEra 300 to really get the true spatial audio effect? 🤔😔

Just been playing an Apple Music Spatial Audio playlist of  new pop hits to get an idea of Atmos sound.  Two things stood out:  a sort of reverb effect with sound alternating sort of in and out, volume sometimes increasing quite a lot and then receding back? Is this typical?  Not sure what to make of it.  When I change to stereo music I prefer the sound.

Hi all!I recently updated my wifi with Frontier. Eero replaced my Arris router/modem. Now, my huge problem is my two Sonos Ones cannot connect to my wifi. I read on here to enable bridge mode. I called Frontier and I was told they do not support bridge mode. PLS HELP!!! TIA!

As i pointed out in my Dolby ATMOS TrueHD test file analysis. There is this weird behaviour, where ERAs center channel is not playing anything at all. Only speakers that are involved are upfiring ans side speakers.This is also true for ATMOS music played via Apple Music or even Stereo music via Apple Music or Spotify. Center channel is just “dead”.Is this intentional or a bug?

Era 300 has been added, but may not appear in the System tab. If so, unplug the power cord and plug it back in to finish setup from the System tab. unplug the power cord and plus it back still can not 

New Era 100 speakers. Alexa is set up ok if I ask it a question. But it won't play BBC sounds, or Apple Music. I can play both through the App, but I'd really like to just ask the speakers to open BBC sounds without going through the app. Ditto music through Apple.  Everything is linked per set up instructions.  As it's both BBC and Apple I suspect the issue is with Sonos, but I may be wrong. Any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received. Thanks. 

Hi!  I got a problem since maybe the day I owned the Sonos device but I didn’t pay it much attention but as it kept repeating, I’d like to ding an answer. i got a Sonos Beam coupled with 2 Ones for the TV, a One in the kitchen, and one Move.  When i connect to one of these speaker for the first  song with Spotify, it always start the song in the middle of it, although on my iPhone, the song on the Spotify app appears to be at the beginning if I refer to the timing showed on the app. When I click to rewind the song, it starts again the song and this time there’s no problem. I saw also a problem when watching a movie and putting the audio on beam/2 ones and the One on the kitchen (which is very close, about 6/7 meters), the audio briefly disconnect for a second each minute. Any help on these issues?  Thanks

I’m re-introducing this topic because it has been brought up before and after all this time, Sonos seems to have failed to do anything about it.   Both Sirius XM and Spotify drop very regularly, at least twice per hour if not more.  With both I get the error message “Unable to connect . . .” and with Sirius XM I also get the message about not being able to play because of some “encoding” issue. I have gigabit Internet coming to my home and all my Sonos speakers are connected via 3 Sonos AMP’s which are connected via Ethernet cable, so WiFi is not even involved.Any ideas?  Also, with all the complaints, why hasn’t Sonos addressed this issue being experienced by so many customers?

On my up to date Android phone, I have a large library of mp3 and flac files. It is largely maintained in Black Player. Black Player makes playlists in the android media engine. About half of these playlists appear in the Sonos app. But about half are MISSING. Where is the Sonos app looking for playlists?

I just bought the Sonos port and the Onkyo receiver TX-NR696 because it is compatible with Sonos, but can’t seem to get it to work. I have followed all of the set up required by Onkyo and changed the setting  correctly. The set is through the CD on the back of the receiver just like every video I watch suggest. The best I have got is when I switch the line out level to Pass-Through on the Sonos app and it was just garbled noise, but It was the song I had playing… and now not even that working. I also bought 4 Sonos One speakers thinking I could be listening to all Sonos speakers through out my house while also listening through my current surround sound speakers as well. At this point it seems I have wasted my money up buying the Onkyo receiver and all of the Sonos products. Nothing is working like it should it seems.Can someone please help me figure this out… I’m stumped. Scott

I am setting up audio in my office mostly listen to Jazz in that space, it is a small room 120 sq feet. For about the same price I can put 2 era 300’s or 2 100’s with a submini. I was thinking the 100’s with the submini would free the 100’s to do what they do best and the submini will fill bottom end? I dont really like the way spatial audio sounds on a lot of tracks so that is less of a concern for me. Thoughts? 

Hi! I have a question about the connection of Sonos Sub gen 3 with the Sonos Amp. I have a pair of Architectural In-Ceiling Speakers by Sonos install in my kitchen and they are connected to a Sonos Amp with speaker wire.I want to add the Sonos Sub gen 3 to this setup.Can I connect the sub with an Ethernet cable instead of using the RCA cable.1: Ethernet cable from the sub to the rooter.Or2: Ethernet cable form the sub to the Sonos Amp.I understand that the Sonos Amp need to be connected as well by an Ethernet cable on my rooter. Thank you for your knowledge. 

I have Port connected to a turntable & I am finding it the most confusing, clumsy & inconsistent device.I don’t know if I have installed it the wrong way or if I am not understanding how to use it, especially to output to different rooms and speakers. It is driving me totally nuts.‘Listen in every and any room’ they say. Not likely!Example - I have a pair of Era 100s and a Sub Mini set-up as the turntable listening system. These are all wifi connected. I start the turntable running, select Port as the source and then press play and it works (although inexplicably it often cuts out play when you turn the record over, you have to press play again…)In my main living area I have Arc, Sub and a pair of One SLs connected to the TV.If I try to add that room as an output… nothing. The audio from the TV continues, it doesn’t switch to the different source, if I try with the TV switched off… nothing.This doesn’t happen with other sources such as streaming from my iPhone or iMac or playin

Hi, RonW. from New Orleans. I’m considering a Sonos Arc and this is my dilemma: my tv is a 10 year old Sony Bravia XBR-65HX950 with HDMI, HDMI ARC and Optical cable. Also the tv does not support HDMI eARC or Dolby Atmos. I’m sure I’ll be upgrading a tv in the future. Will the Arc provide me satisfactory audio with the older tv.Thanks in advance, RonW.

Having researched easy to use setups for my technology challenged parents, I think the Sonos “Immersive Set with Beam” (includes Beam Gen2, Sub Mini, Era 100 x2) might be the best solution for both watching TV & listening to music.  However, I don’t have personal experience with Sonos components, so appreciate any help or insights you might share.I’m assuming setting up / configuring the audio for TV watching will be very simple using the Sonos app (I’ll do this for them).  But I’m unsure about whether the configuration should (or can) change for listening to music (ie disabling the sound bar).  Again, given that my parents are not tech savvy, any configuration / mode change (TV <-> Music) would need to be extremely simple…preferably using universal remote instead of Sonos app.CONFIGURATION (planned, haven’t purchased yet):Television HDMI Arc or eArc to power on/off and volume control the speakers. Prefer to avoid using A/V receiver, instead using TV’s HDMI Arc functionality.

Hi i have an MP3 file that i want to play as part of a soundscape in a room with Sonos on loop.The file has been specially created, and at the moment lives on my laptop. I would ideally love to play this through Sonos without my laptop.Any recommendations on this would be greatly appreciated. ThanksThomas 

After days of nagging about the 15.1.1 update I gave in and installed it on our system. After this a prompt to do Trueplay calibration on our Arc+Sub+2*One came up and I started that.After multiple tries it still fails with a message (roughly translated from Swedish) “one speaker went missing during calibration”. During the calibration I hear all speakers working but noticed a very high pitched noice from one of the back channels right at the end of the calibration.Support diagnostics: 2108779561

Hi,I’ve changed my TV  to wall hanging and thus the playbar also to wall hanging - hence I’ve had to change the previous optical / toslink cable to a new one with 90-degree plugs. In principle I only need this on the backside of my TV, but the cable has 90-degree plugs at both ends.Oddly my Playbar keeps saying it does not receive sound signal from the TV via the new cable - however I can see there is a red light in the cable so a signal should be there.I’ve tried resetting the Playbar and installing it again, but it’s still the same.I’ve tried the connection again with the old cable (with straight plugs) which works.Anyone good ideas?…..other then to use the excuse to upgrade to an Arc.Rgs and thanksMartin
