My setup includes:Sonos Beam gen2 BenQ TH534Playstation 4Laptop connected to Benq via HDMI to watch movies. Hello community.I am totally new person in the community. My wife bought me a fast Christmas Gift:) I would like to know how to correctly connect my components to generate sound from my Sonos Beam gen2.  At this point, I just want to connect and receive sound from my new soundbar. Later I will buy additional speakers. Please let me know if there’s a workaround that I have missed so far. I am fairly new to using Sonos and streaming services. I have found a streaming service, Presto Music, that is not listed on the Sonos list of streaming services that I can access and add. Can I add a streaming service not listed? If so. how do I do it?Thank you.

i have 2 amp which are each connected to 4 in-ceiling speakers in 2 different rooms and I love having music as I move from room to room.  I would also like to enjoy the same music on a separate floor, without installing ‘in ceiling’ speakers.  Is there a way to do this?

Hi Another bizarre, confusing issue with Sonos Arc connectivity to Alexa.Arc stopped responding to voice commands, even though set up correctly, skills enabled in Alexa app etc. I think it’s a conflict between the Arc and my Kindle Fire HD. Ie, the voice command is only heard thru the Kindle, not the Arc. If I disable the skill on the Alexa app on the Kindle, it reiterates that status, disabled etc. (Ie thru the Kindle)If the Kindle is off, no sound thru either Arc or Kindle and no response to voice command.What’s weird:1. This has only occurred in last few days. Kindle has been on and in same room as Arc for months, without this glitch?2. When I checked Alexa app on Kindle, it initially didn’t recognise any devices anyway. Now it does.3. Alexa app was running happily on iPhone alongside Arc. Suggests that it’s only conflicting with the Kindle?4. I’ve noticed the Alexa app lists the Arc (“living room”) and TV (“living room TV”. Is that right? I’ve tried disabling and re enabling but no

The s2 app is * (s1 never had any issues at all) , we all know that, constant updates that break more stuff than they fix, more and more ridiculous is becomes, today i open it up and now i have to click my way through fullscreen adds in order to update so i can experince the ‘this can’t be played’ ‘there was an error playing that song’ ‘there is currrently a problem playing that song’  ‘ we are having problems playing this and that’...but the latest update made sure that the animations is changed so that they don’t look like the animations did when they were updated in the update before that update. I also read that the updates are going to be updated so that the updates are now animated But hey atleast these speakers are incredible overpriced. i had it up to the neck with sonos, it is straight up garbage now.  *Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Community Code of Conduct.*

Can someone tell me in plain english step by step how to connect to the music stored on a Sony Walkman with Sonos Roam? In other words I want to play the music stored on the hard disk of the Walkman?

I have a Sononos Playbar. I am thinking of getting Mini Sub. Is it compatable with playbar or I have only one option of getting Sub Gen3?

Hey all, Recently purchased my first piece of Sonos kit (ERA 300) and absolutely loving the sound quality but i am having one issue that I am hoping the community can help with. When I play music from my Spotify iPhone app to the ERA 300 via Wi-Fi (good quality internet connection) it connects quickly however sometimes when I pause the music for 10 minutes or more the connection between Spotify and the speaker drops. Meaning I have to re connect my phone to the speaker device again. Does anyone know how I keep the connection active after pausing the music for a period of time or is there some default auto disconnect setting I may not be aware of ? I did read somewhere that my wi-fi could be automatically switching channels and causing the issue but im not sure... Any help would be appreciated.

Hey all, had a quick look at this topic, but didn't find a super clear answer yet, apologies if I've missed it. All I own is the Sonos Arc, worked great for streaming music, however I've recently upgraded my internet package and with that everything is on 5ghz. Trying to connect the arc to WiFi for streaming I got an error stating it can't connect to 5g only 2.4? Is there no fix for this? Thanks in advance

I recognise I may not even be asking the right question … I have SONOS Play 1 speakers wired in to my home network. Due to the track limit on the SONOS Player app I want to use JRiver on a Windows PC as my media centre (data is on a NAS).For JRiver to play to the SONOS speakers apparently the PC needs to recognise them (or one of them) as audio devices. It can see them as devices on the home network ok, but not as audio devices. Can this be done with just the hardware i already have? To be clear, I don’t need them as the computer speakers - but do want JRiver on the PC to be able to play to them.

I’ve been after a soundbar for a long time. Playbar would have been perfect but tech has moved on and with BF there are a few really attractive deals for the Arc.The TV is in a recess area that is 155cm / 61 inches wide, the Arc is 114cm / 45 inches wide. This gives the Arc 20cm / 8 inches either side. Would the side firing speakers reverberate off the side walls detorting the sound? Or is it possible to turn them off completely.please excuse the condition, currently preparing for carpets and skirting etc  

Hello All,i bought a new tv (hisense 58 a7gq, see specs below), a beam gen 2 , 2 era 100 and a sub mini.the problem is the sound when I use the Apple TV 4K : it’s really bad.the same movie played with the TV gives a beautiful sound (but a quite less Sharp image though)is there a way to fix this issue ?  Does it have something to do with the settings ? Hello,I'm new to Sonos and surround systems, and I'm planning a 5.1 setup with Arc, Sub gen 3 and two Ikea Symfonisk speakers, either picture frames or lamp stands.Problem is, I have a doorway in the perfect spot for the right surround. Is it better to place the surrounds asymmetrically further apart (1), or closer together, symmetrically (2)?The system will be used for movies and playing music in the entire living room/kitchen. Because of the latter, I was thinking it would be an advantage to put the surround speakers as far into both corners as possible (to “fill” the room), is this correct?Please excuse the crude drawing, but I hope it illustrates my conundrum. Recently, one of my Roams has stopped playing music when grouped with a Play 1 or Sonos Five. Up until now, it has worked pretty much flawlessly. The Sonos app will show the Roam is in the same group as the other speaker, but no sound is coming out.  I have tried grouping and un-grouping speakers in different order, starting with the Roam and then adding Play 1 or starting with Play 1 and then adding Roam.  The app will show the group, but no sound out of the Roam. Interestingly enough, I can use the Sonos Voice Control to start and stop music on the Play 1 or Five.I use an Orbi RBR 750 and have the 2.4 GHz channel set to 6.  I also have a Sonos Boost and my Orbi app shows that my speakers, except the portable ones, are on SonosNet.  The Roamand Move are on the Orbi WiFi.  I have done a factory reset the Roam and still have the same problem when I try and group the speakers.This has been very frustrating. I have a second, newer Roam that does not stay connected to my network at all.  I

Looked around for Pandora issues and can’t seem to find a recent post so asking about a problem which only just began showing up after the latest hardware update. We’ve been Sonos user for many many years without any of these issues before so you can imagine it’s frustrating.We have 4 Sonos 1’s and a Sonos port spread throughout the house and prior to the latest hardware update, all of them were able to play music from Pandora individually and as a group.However, something in the latest update which I did about a week ago, something has generated the following problems attempting to use PandoraI select a music station from Pandora from the S2 controller and the station I select blinks, as if I’ve selected it, but then nothing ever plays.   I select a station and it happens to play (maybe 1 out of 20 tries) and it will play for a short period of time through all devices but then it simply stops. Hi all, I’ve just tried to install my new Era300, but the system doesnt find it. I’m having a “guest”-wifi network in my appartment from the owner who lives upstairs. I’ve read somewhere that sonos doesn’t work with a guest network. Is that correct? And is there a way to avoid this? Or is the only way to have installed a new network? thx for your support

Just bought several Sonos speakers for my home.  My entire family uses the apple eco system.  I keep getting the error that I can’t play song (from apple) due to an encoding error.  The advertisement said I could play my Apple Music through these speakers.  Saw all the responses, and personally, I don’t care who’s responsible for the failure.  Sonos collected my money and I just need the fix for this. If no fix I’m taking it all back to Costco on Friday and buying something that works with Apple.

Hey all, I recently acquired a Sonos Roam speaker that I want to share between my smartphone (iPhone 14) and my wife's smartphone (iPhone 13).The 2 smartphones are up to date as far as iOS is concerned.The Sonos application is installed on the iPhone 14 to install the device and control it. When I want to stream music in AirPlay 2 from the iPhone 14, it works fine.When I want to do the same thing from iPhone 13, I get the message "unable to connect to Sonos Roam". The most surprising thing is that the error message is immediate, as if there were a setting on the iPhone that forbade AirPlay 2!!!! What's the problem??? As for the Bluetooth connection, it works perfectly on both iPhones.It even seems to me that the Bluetooth connection is more stable than the one with AirPlay 2!When the AirPlay connection is lost, the Sonos Roam is unable to recover it. You have to switch it off, then on again, and re-establish the connection from the iPhone. Many thanks,

Reposted as I originally posted in the wrong group 🙄We currently have 2 x ONE: one in the lounge, one in the kitchen and both grouped. Music is streamed all day as we WFH.We’re thinking of buying a Beam soundbar for the lounge, and using that to listen all day in the lounge and grouped with the kitchen, and then when we watch TV. We’ve not really thought about what to do with the current lounge ONE.When we watch TV, will we need to un-group the lounge Beam and kitchen ONE, or is there a way to set this up so we don’t have to ungroup/group each time we watch TV?We could have the spare ONE in the lounge too, can I set up sub-groups? e.g.Group 1(ALL) > kitchen ONE, Lounge ONE, Lounge BeamGroup 2 (LOUNGE) > Lounge ONE, Lounge BeamAnd still stream music in the kitche whilst watching TV in the lounge?Thanks in advance, hope that I’ve managed to ask this in an understandable way!

I wonder if anyone has knowledge of the following problem. I would like to connect the Sonos ray sound bar to a Panasonic TX-50HX580B television via optical connection but am concerned that as the tv headphones output is totally out of sync with tv picture the same issue will exist on the optical output etc. This is further compounded by the lack of any settings to adjust to solve this issue
