Amazon Alexa and Sonos

Hi I'm currently experiencing a problem using Alexa on two different Sonos speakers (a One and a Move) and was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. The issue I am having is when I play a song on my daughter's speaker, it starts fine and continues to play until I go into my son's room and ask Alexa to play a song on his speaker. This causes the first song in my daughter's room to stop and the song in my son's room will continue to play.  The set up I have is two Amazon accounts using the household sharing option within the Alexa app, two separate Spotify accounts with one each assigned to the Amazon accounts mentioned and the accounts have been set up separately on each speaker (the speakers will say which Spotify account it is streaming from before it plays a track) If anyone can answer my question or find me a solution I'd be grateful as this problem is rendering my multi room set up useless in regards to using Alexa because both my kids want their own speakers in their

I had a Sonos Connect in my system and it worked with my Alexa Echo very well….. recently I upgraded to the new SONOS port….. Now whenever I select Pandora and a station Alexa turns on the Port and I get my music in my office but within 2 minutes it stops playing….. I can turn it on with my phone app and it will play for hours. I can ask Alexa to play Tuned in radio and a local station and it will play for hours but as soon as switch and I have Alexa play Pandora in my office it will play for less than one song and stop playing…. I have no idea why and I have no problems with anything from the App or Tuned in radio. Only Pandora…. 

Can you control lighting with Philips Hue bulbs using alexa on sonos move?

Trying to integrate my 4 sonos speakers with my alexa app and its just not working. I search for devices as instructed and my nest heating is appearing as are my hue bulbs but no sign of sonos. I have updated both the sonos and alexa apps. Anyone any thoughts?

Hi,  I have a sonos one gen 2, and Spotify premium account. Whenever I ask Alexa to: "Play [song] by [artist]" it always says "Playing [artist] radio". I've tried unlinking, and relinking accounts and services/skills in Alexa and Sonos but still no luck. I also get Spotify ads (not third party) so I guess it thinks I have the free Spotify? I'm stumped. 

When triggering a routine within Alexa she announces that "audio device in routine is not supported on this device", and then carries out whats in the routine. How do I get rid of this "announcment"?

Hi, recently, I have tried to use the German Radio Paradise Alexa Skill on my Sonos One. It acknowledges my command and responds with “Playing Radio Paradise”. Unfortunately, it then does not play the station properly, All I can hear is a crackling noise every few seconds. I tried already deactivating/ activating the skill und rebooting the Sonos One with no improvement. The skill works fine on my Amazon Echo device in the same network. Any ideas? Best regards Chris

Noticed microphone light off on Sonos One.  Tried to turn it on by hand, no luck.  Unable to communicate verbally with Alexa.  Looks like everything else checks out besides mic.  Is there something I am missing?  Is there a test function to determine if and why mic is not working?  Light is definitely off too.   I am able to stream music to the speaker via bluetooth.  I am unable to voice command any services or skills.  Checked with Amazon support regarding any possible issues with my account (Alexa), they said everything looks good with my account, Alexa, and wi-fi connection.  Assuming now that it is either a software/app/setting or a hardware problem.     Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. 

My Sonos one microphone is not working. I have multiple Sonos devices in the house and they are all working.What I’ve done:Rebooted Reset to factory settings and re-added Turned off Sonos Skill in Alexa, then turned it back on.I still cannot get it to work. Any advice?

I have installed the beam, enabled the alexa skill and the beam is there as speakers on the alexa app, but when I try to add alexa as a voice assistant in the sonos app it says "there was a problem adding alexa". Any suggestions?    One of the main reasons I bought this was because its smart as it came with alexa so it's a bit annoying to just have a dumb Bluetooth sound bar staring at me

Hi, help please.  Last week I purchased a Sonos 1 and although I have succeeded in getting Alexa working I am having one problem. I listen to BBC Radio 2 a lot and although I can get this Sonos 1 to play BBC Radion 2 using the app whenever I ask “Alexa play BBC Radio 2 in Bedroom” instead of playing BBC Radio 2 I finish up listening to BBC Radion 2 Cymru!  How can I get this speaker to play BBC Radio 2 using Alexa?

I'm new here so I apologize for everything in advance. I'd like make my "family room" which consists of 2 play 5's (2 gen), playbar and sub, the default music player for Alexa (echo plus).  However, when I try to set it as the preferred speaker it has the message "incompatible speakers". If I tell Alexa to play music thru family room it works perfectly- would just like to not have to say where each time. Any suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks    

Hi, what's the reason why Alexa isn't working in Belgium? I'm ok with using Alexa in English until there's support for Dutch. I would say the limitation is the language setting, not the country/location. Just enable Alexa for English in Belgium and I'll settle with that until Dutch is supported. I can read there's a workaround by actually registering the products in UK/US ... so this is kind of pushing people to register products in the wrong way to have features enabled. Can't follow the logic in this.

Alexa repeats the station but nothing happens. Same command to my google home brings desired result?

Hi!   I frequently come home and a family member or nanny has started playing something wonderful on our echo, probably because it's easiest to say what to play and no one remembers to append, “in the <room name>" to have it play on our Sonos.   I would love to tell Alexa to transfer music or transfer “what's playing” to the <room name>, but that command doesn't seem to be understood.    Is there a way to transfer what's playing via the Alexa app or a different voice command?   Also, is there a way to set a default playback device other than the echo on an echo?   Thanks! The preferred speaker function in the Alexa app no longer works after the latest Sonos update. It has always worked perfectly. I have disabled and reabled the Sonos function in the Alexa app and that didn’t work.

I haven’t setup any assistants.  Is Sonos listening and sending my bedroom talk to a transcription service?

I have a Sonos Beam and a Ring doorbell. I have installed the Alexa skill so that when the bell rings, an announcement comes over an echo device I have but not the Beam. I am guessing that the Beam does not support that particular skill, or am I being unduly pessimistic?

I set up the Sonos One two weeks ago and it connected fine to our existing Sonos system. Alexa voice was also working well. The Sonos One was unplugged for several days, and when I started it back up, Alexa did not respond, It appears that the voice services in the Sonos and Alexa apps on my Android phone are active. The system plays music just fine via the Sonos app. Any ideas on what might be wrong? Thank you in advance... SDK

I have a fire TV (which I use as my family room Alexa) on Input 2 of my TV. My sonos is connected to the fire TV and works fine when on input 2. When I am watching cable (Input 1) and ask Alexa a question I get no sound at all but Alexa is responding. Is there any way to fix this?

For 2 days now if we ask alexa for a specific song it plays and then it stops, before, after the originally requested track playback would continue buf not anymore. The twitter team is not able to help us resolve the situation. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?? Thanks.

How can I get Alexa to play My Music Library (using the Bridge to my NAS drive) onto my Sonos speakers

Hi. I can’t get Alexa to work on my Sonos One speakers because I can’t enable the microphone. I have added the skill in the Alexa app but in the same app it says that the speakers are offline. I can’t toggle on and off the microphone on the speakers either.    When I first got them, it all set up fine but I stupidly moved one over Christmas to use at friend’s house. Big mistake. I’ve tried resetting completely but no luck.    Can anyone help?    Thanks

Whenever I have my house cleaned, inevitably the cleaning people have diligently dusted the tops of all my Sonos One & Beam speakers, thus disabling the microphone on one or more of them (despite repeated requests for them to not dust these). When I get home I start making Alexa requests but of course there's no answer. I have to run around the house & manually check each microphone button. I'd like to be able to DISABLE the microphone on/off button entirely from within the app settings, to prevent people from accidentally turning off the microphone. There's already a "Speaker Touch Controls" enable/disable setting - but alas, this doesn't seem to affect the microphone on/off button. Could this functionality please be added? Thanks!

Hello all   ive just purchased a Sonos beam and 2xones gen 2 speakers. I already have Alexa working away.    ive now setup the Sonos as surround system and it’s working great.    I decided to add Alexa to the Sonos.    it’s seems to add with no issues, everything is enabled and looks like it should work.    I get the initial Alexa voice warning and it states Alexa is working on the Sonos beam    the beam works with Alexa voice commands and also I can turn it on or off with a swipe of a finger  HERES THE PROBLEM GUYS   The 2 rear speakers don’t work at all with Alexa. They work perfectly with Sonos surround and the Sonos app but the little White microphone on the speakers doesn’t light up and can’t be swiped left or right. It’s permanently off and doesn’t respond.  in the Alexa app it’s enabled and can see the Sonos and I’ve added the Alexa via the Sonos app and all seems well apart from the rear speakers.    any help is really appreciated. I’m in IT as well so I’m no noddy here, they
