Voice control and smart home

Have tried everything - re-set system but now when I try to add Alexa I get to ‘connect to Amazon then ‘the wheel of death’ with no connection. Driving me crazy, any ideas?

I’m looking to enhance my smart home setup by integrating my Sonos speakers with other smart devices. What are the best methods or tools for achieving seamless automation between Sonos and various smart home systems? Any tips on compatibility, configuration, or specific devices that work particularly well with Sonos would be greatly appreciated!

I've been searching and searching and can't seem to find an answer to this question.  Is it possible to set up multiple Spotify accounts and assign the different accounts to different voices within a household?  I know it's possible to add multiple Spotify accounts to the SONOS system and then choose which Spotify account you want to use by using the sonos app to control playback. What I want to do is link the accounts to voices so that if, for example, I say "alexa, play Fleetwood Mac", the system knows to use my Spotify account because it recognises my voice. Then if my wife is in another room and says "Alexa, play Quantic", it will play Quantic using her Spotify account. At the moment this doesn't happen - sonos will always use my account for Spotify if using voice assist to start any music.  This can also be troublesome if I'm listening to Spotify in the car. If my wife is at home and asks alexa to play music, sonos will use my Spotify account in the house and stop playback for me

I am having this exact problem.Radio Paradise Skill on Sonos One repeats the same few songs | Sonos CommunityIt has happened on both a One and Beam. Today, it repeated the same 2 minute section of a song over and over. When I pressed skip, it kept repeating the “thank you for listening to Radio Paradise” announcement over and over. Unfortunately, the above linked thread does not seem to offer a resolution.

Is anyone able to use Alexa through their Sonos speakers???All of a sudden last weekend, Alexa stopped responding through my Sonos One speakers. I spent 4 hours in a chat session with Amazon and they can’t figure out why the Alexa app shows all my Sonos devices as offline. I’ve uninstalled speakers in Sonos, I’ve disabled and re-enabled the  Sonos skill in Alexa and deleted and re-installed the Alexa app. I did each of these numerous times. I have to wonder, with the nightmare Sonos has put us through with the new app if they haven’t done something else that has now disabled Sonos from working with Alexa. Any info would be appreciated.  

The sonos roam does not seem to let you ask Google to play a song on Spotify. It says it will play song and then doesn’t.  it does work how we on the Sonos Beam.  is there a fix coming for this issue with Roam? 

In my household, apparently it is only possible to have one system owner. If I want to use Sonos voice assistant, it is not possible for me to use my OWN playlist. If the system owner is not present, I cannot add a new Sonos device nor edit my OWN Sonos device. I think this is A very poor thought through concept as everybody should be able to edit the Sonos household, or at least let the System owner give the rights to different Sonos users that are in the same household. Because now I cannot use my Sonos to my full extent and have an incredibly limited use of my own Sonos. I cannot even wake let my Sonos wake me up with my own music. And I cannot reach the Sonos customer service if I don’t wait at least 30 minutes on the line. Also, the chat feature is unusable as you start at at least eight place and have to wait extremely long. The Sonos customer service is one of the most exhausting and customer unfriendly list services. I have tried to reach in a long time.

Hello all, Any body knows why tidal is not on the voice control service? Will it be added soon or sonos do not have plan to implement it? 

The new Sonos Move 2 speakers do not set up any of the voice control. Message comes back failed please try again. I have tried many times on sifferent days of the week, still no success.

Since the recent updates, I’ve noticed the Alexa is unresponsive. It was hit and miss prior to the update anyway 😡

The closest topic I could find related to this issue is “Intermittent Alexa Voice Assistant.. Sonos Voice Control all OK!” , and it shows that the issue has been resolved. But I think it is happening again.TLDR: Just got the ERA 100 on 25 May, everything was great, “Hey Sonos” and Alexa is working well for the first 2 weeks (responds and performing tasks asked almost instantaneously), then from 10-11 June onwards Alexa starts to have problems.Problem:Alexa not responding to commands or questions AT ALL (the status light did show up indicating it is listening, but no response until the status light went off)   Sometimes it works as intended(maybe like 2 times out of 10), but only after more than 30 seconds after the command was given and status light went off.  Sometimes Alexa won’t finish listening - I would be in mid sentence like saying “Alexa, turn off the light” and the status light will go off before i even finish my sentence. Things I have tried: Power on/off for ERA 100, and wif

Please create an integration for Sonos to Home Assistant. I don't understand why you would be this horrible and lock your system down so much? Please at least allow the community to create a home assistant integration for config management and custom voice commands. This is really unbelievable that this is not a thing still.I don't like being this negative about it, but you're making my speakers worse and worse since I bought them and I'm seriously considering just selling all the Sonos products I already have and moving away permanently from anything Sonos. Stop pushing so hard for gimmicks no one really wants and get your core products to actually work.

August 10, 2024. This issue is now resolved. The SiriusXM Skill will now link with Alexa app. Some who use SiriusXM as a streaming service on Sonos may have noticed (or will notice) that Alexa when asked to play a SiriusXM music genre will say the following…To listen to SiriusXM go to the Alexa mobile app and link your account. Unfortunately, the Alexa Skill to link SiriusXM to Sonos and use the Alexa Voice assistant is broken within the Alexa Mobile app.. Upon attempting to link the SiriusXM Skill the following message appears...Unable to link the skill at this time, try again later (or something to that affect)Don’t panic! You can still add SiriusXM as a streaming service to Sonos and select your music genre and direct it to a Sonos speaker just as you would Apple Music, Spotify or any other streaming service. You just can’t request Alexa to play SiriusXM at this time.I’ve been in phone conversations with tech support for Alexa and SiriusXM. Neither seem to be aware of the issue alth

I think I have a weird one. I have 2 Sono speaks, 2 Google hubs, and on Google mini speaker. When I state the command hey google broadcast / make an announcement. Only my Google device play the broadcast / announcement, none of the Sonos speaker.Try troubleshooting this issue for a month and got nowhere. So if anybody knows what settings I need to configure or what I need to do please let me know. I really like this Google feature

Sonos arc keeps turning sonos arc mic on and off mute. No ambient noise. Could this be a firmware issue? I’m using it with google assistant.  I have it set up with two era 300s as surrounds. thanks!

First of all the App (I know, shocking right) is incredibly confusing and ambiguous, and isn’t clear if voice control is actually installed on my Move 2 or not. Some sections appear to say it is, but I think this is partly because the app doesn’t off doesn’t always clearly differentiate between individual speakers or global system settings. When I try to add Sonos voice control to ‘another speaker’, the Move 2 appears and I follow the onscreen directions, but it always fails after a few minutes. The mic button on the back is on, by the top one is off, and it just flashes for a while when I press it. All firmware and software up to date at time of posting. I have tried a factory reset but doesn’t help.  Is there another I can try, or is yet another broken feature I will just have to wait for to be fixed?

 I'm not sure if it's a Beam or Internet issue, the mic just stopped responding to my queries. I uninstalled SVA then when I'm trying to install it, the installation takes a long time and fail afterwards. Even Alexa won't install. Any ideas? I already tried reset and rebooting my phone it still won't install.  

In the new app, I go all the way until it says signing in to Amazon. It stays there eternally. Tried everything. Deleted data, cache, restarted system, factory settings, etc. I can't pass that step to add Amazon Alexa to my speakers. 

Hi Sonos community,Whenever I start to play a radio station or a song from any music service via Alexa, it begins correctly but after 2-3 minutes, it cuts out and starts buffering on any speaker, whether it’s near or far from my WiFi router.What I’ve tried so far:    1.    Launching music from my iPhone using various music services (Spotify, YouTube Music, Radio France, etc.) – works perfectly.    2.    Connecting a speaker to my router via Ethernet and launching music via Alexa – same buffering issue as on WiFi.Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I can’t figure out how to fix it.

Hi,  Ever since changing my WiFi/broadband provider last month I’ve been unable to use Alexa on Sonos One. I finally got round to doing a fresh disabling of everything, factory reset and re-linking of accounts. Sonos Voice Control works fine. Alexa will operate the speaker if I make a voice command through the Alexa App, but if I try to speak to the One speaker directly it does not respond to the “Alexa” wake word command.  The skill is enabled in the Alexa app, it recognises the speaker and can communicate with them to turn on music. I’m guessing this is a bug and I’m sure what else to do.  

After upgrade to new sonos app. The alexa is not working on my Beam. And from alexa app, it appear the speaker is offline.. No matter how many time i disabled and reenabled the skill…I have also reset the voice assistant couple times as well diagnosis number: ************** Moderator Note: Recorded and removed Diagnostic Number. With this new app I am having problems with Alexa.  When I try to reset by removing everything from Alexa and removing the voice assistant from Sonos it wont let me remove Alexa from Sonos.  I was on the phone for 3 hours with Sonos with no luck.  Need level 2 support but cant get an appointment because there to busy.  Anyone have any ideas as to how to remove Alexa from Sonos so I can reset.

Hello, I'm trying to set up my roam 2, the Sonos voice assistant downloaded fine but I'm unable to add Alexa (works fine on all my other speakers). It says signing  into account and then I get a loading when indefinitely.  I've signed in and out of the Alexa app, and removed and re-addesd the Sonos skill, but still when I go back to the Sonos app to add Alexa is just says signing in to Alexa indefinitely.
