Reconnect device (Move) to existing system
This post is not for everyone as it involves a Mesh Network and requires a wired backhaul for best performance. If you have a family that spends a lot of time outdoors in the summer on the patio, deck or poolside; you (or they) may be using a Sonos Move (1 or 2) and/or Sonos Roam (1 or 2). On the other hand, you may want to install Sonos outdoor speakers (wired to a Sonos Amp) that will be located several yards (meters) away from the main dwelling; or Wi-Fi struggles to penetrate walls adjacent to the exterior. There are several ways to resolve the issues I just mentioned. However, I’d like to focus on one and that’s an Outdoor Router. Outdoor routers can be powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet) or Electrical.I recently installed one by ASUS; the “ZenWiFI BD5” Outdoor Router. It’s a full-blown dual band 2.4Ghz/5Ghz Wi-Fi 7 router that I converted to a satellite node on my existing ASUS AiMesh network. When considering an outdoor router to be used as part of an existing Mesh network it’s b
Hi, Will owners of Sonos V1 hardware be able to use our 30% credit on purchasing an AMP Multi? Can we self install? The website says Find an Installer…Ther website says that there are no Installers for AMP Multi in Melbourne, Australia!
Upgrading from Beam to Arc. Do I need to remove the Beam from my system first?
Hi everyone,I am ready to push the button on a home theatre setup involving the Arc Ultra / ERA 100’s and a Sub.Currently I have an LG Soundbar which has 2 HDMI inputs. I connect my Panasonic UB9000 directly to it for audio as it shows zero lip sync issues from any source.I have a 65 inch LG G5 TV.My full connected devices would be:Sky QApple TVXBOX Series XPanasonic UB9000Now I know that from my UB9000 I would have to then send Audio/Video to the TV HDMI, and the Arc to my eARC HDMI and let the TV do all the work.My issues before buying are mostly with SKY Q and how well this works.Ideally I need to know whether with my setup I am likely to get any Lip Sync issues, and also… I don’t really want the sound coming through my rear speakers when watching standard TV.Any advice would be appreciated.
I currently use a Marantz NR1200 as my amp and am looking to add an element of surround sound to my tv set up. I was hoping to add the Sonos Ultra arc to give me a more cinematic experience. Will the Sonas Ultra arc be compatible with my existing amp???
Hi everyone,I am currently fitting out a new detached home office which is a 10x20 steel-framed portable unit (you can see the structural specs and interior layout here: [redacted]I want to create a seamless "Work from Home" audio environment, but I have a few concerns about the acoustics in a metal-clad building:Acoustics: Because the walls are steel-framed with sandwich panel insulation, I’m worried about reflections. Would a pair of Era 100s be enough for a space this size, or should I go with a single Sonos Five to get better depth in a "tighter" acoustic environment?Connectivity: Since the cabin is essentially a metal box, I assume the WiFi signal from my main house will be weak. If I run a dedicated ethernet cable to the unit, can I use a Sonos Boost or just hardwire one speaker to create a stable SonosNet inside the cabin?Mounting: Has anyone had success wall-mounting Sonos speakers on modular sandwich panels, or should I stick to floor stands to avoid vibrations against the ste
Hi, I have a spotify Basic Family plan, which removes adverts. When I play via Sonos I get adverts. What am I doing wrong or is this a known issue. Basic plans - Spotifyhttps://support.spotify.com/uk/article/spotify-basic/
Afternoon all.Received an email (two in fact) from Sonos offering a 25% discount on range. But when I link to it, it routes to Sonos US not UK.Just curious if it’s applicable to UK purchases? I’m in the market just now.Tried asking Sonos using Sonos live chat but when the Sonos bot has finished with you and tries to connect you to an agent, the chat window just disappears. Don’t know why but is consistent.Interested if the discount is usable here. Anyone know about that? Many thanks
Hi allMy setup is Beam Gen 2, 2 x Ones SL for rears and the sub mini. Prices on the Sonos Arc have dropped since the Ultra was launched and now it sells in Europe at 499 euros, same as a the Beam Gen 2. Is it worth it to change? The setup is used 70% movies and 30% spotty streaming. Thanks in Advance Dimitris
Hi , I just wanted to know if it’s ok to use 2 x era 300 with a playbar and gen 3 sub . would I need to upgrade my soundbar to use the era 300 pair . thanks .
I am building a home automation controller, repurposing a B&O Beosound 5 as the control unit, which is driven by a Pi with a python backend and angular UI. I am using v1 sonos connect as my music players. Apple music is setup and working correctly via the sonos app.I am able to enumerate albums/playlists etc using the Apple music rest API, with a dev & user token. If I send a play with a URI for a single track, it works. I am using soco as the library to send the play command. If I send a URI for a playlist or Album from my library, it succeeds in sending it, but then nothing plays and the App shows the URI with a message that there is an issue. uri = f"x-rincon-cpcontainer:1004206capple:libraryalbum:{library_album_id}sid=204&flags=8300&sn=1"

This is the only postcode that works. My poscode is a valid uk postcode. This happens on both paypal and normal checkout.I'm on the uk page so its not a country issue.Any help?
I know what you’re thinking. I’m beating a dead horse. But I still think it’s a valid ask, so here we go:I want to be able to have two sub minis in a room, just like you can have 2 sub gen 4’s. My reasons are this >I already have one sub mini with my system (Arc + 2 Era 100’s + sub mini) but want to have wider coverage of the bass. Before you say “just get a sub gen 4”, I will tell you that I prefer the bass ‘sound’ of the mini over the sub gen 4. I find the bass tighter and more controlled with the sub mini. So it’s not just a question of more bass, but the different type of bass each of those products produceSonos has the ability to allow two sub mini’s in the same system since they already do with the gen 4’s, so I wouldn’t think it’s a huge engineering hurdle to allow the same with the sub mini. And it would be a win/win imo. Those of us sub mini owners who want a second one attached to our system would be happy, and Sonos would sell more subs. All this said, I still now f
I would like Sonos to work together with Apple Home and Apple Home Pod consistently.Had I known about Sonos at the time, I would not have purchased Home Pod, which in terms of audio experience is no more than a toy for children. However, since I have it, it can be used to enhance Sonos in one room. I have had only intermittent success in making this happen. Only once was I able to add Sonos as a device to Apple Home. In the meantime, I had to reconfigure Apple Home and Home Pod. Since then, every day is trying to get the music on both Home Pod and Sonos and crossing my fingers. When I try to add Sonos as a device in Apple Home, it does appear as something to add, but then I get the message that Airplay cannot connect to it (nonsense - it can and does as I see elsewhere) and that I need to check the Wi-Fi connection on my iPhone (also nonsense). I know for a fact that Sonos has a strong connection to my Wi-Fi. The problem seems to be centered on Apple Home. Even with this problem, Siri
I’ve have read in some topics about how some devices index local libraries differently. Would it be possible to allow the user to choose which device is the one that executes the index. ( Associated Product ). This morning I used the old S1 app to check which device was the “Associated Product”. Within a half hour or so it changed from the Arc to the Port. Guess it can’t decide which one is best to perform an index. I’d like to be able to look at a list of individual devices and check a box that would assign a device as the “Associated Product”.
Hi, sorry if this is a common question. I tried to find my exact issue but couldn't.I’m running a Samsung 4K TV, AppleTV 4k (1st gen), Sonos Beam 1 via arc hdmiMy main goal is to be able to adjust volume on the Beam with one of the remotes when the TV is off. I’ve tried all options of IR/RF learning both TV and Apple TV remotes. Nothing is working.Currently when watching thru AppleTV the remote adjusts the Beam volume fine. Likewise when watching just the television alone (appleTV off) the Samsung remote adjusts the Beam fine. What I’d like to achieve is one of those remotes controlling the volume of the Beam while the TV is off and I’m just listening to the music, etc.I’d like to not have to open my phone for simple volume adjustments so please don't suggest. I currently use “Hey Sonos” which I find tedious as its idea of lower/higher volume is all over the place. I tend to have to throw multiple commands and volume numbers to get it right. Again, would just like to adjust easily wit
I was playing an app from my IPad and the blue light started blinking. All the sudden the iPad was kicked off and a song from someone else’s device started playing and I couldn’t control it. I reconnected my IPad and it didn’t happen again. please help.
Hi SONOS Is it possible that you can add information about the year a song or album was released when it opens, that's a feature YouSee has in their app that is really good and I miss it in your app? Best regards from a happy user of your fantastic products. :)Stephan
I do not see upgrade credit for my Play:5 Gen 1. Is this not supposed or an error on my account?
I have a living room TV with a Sonos sound bar base and two small Sonos speakers All attached to each other. I want to set up a bedroom TV with a Sonos room that is not linked to the living room TV. How do I do this?
I just put up my new Frame TV and Connected my Arc Ultra to the TV via Bluetooth. But I am unable to connect my in ceiling speakers to the system for my surround sound. Any help would be appreciated
I just want to access the Sonos 1 App using an old Sonos amp but it keeps reverting to the newer app?
My setup is an Arc Ultra with rear 300s and a sub gen 3, routed through earc from a Samsung s95f tv. I am having a really hard time getting a useable surround sound balance when playing games on the ps5 or switch 2, which are both configured using lpcm 5.1 for positional surround with minimal latency. I’ve narrowed down the main issue to the surround balancing that seems to occur between the Arc Ultra and the surround satellites, where the system seems to always want to use the arc to boost the surrounds even when it makes no sense. in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for example, if I rotate the camera around so a sound source goes from directly in front of me to directly behind me I can hear it move from the center to the side and then to the back, except as it moves to the back the side is always firing just as loud as it was while the object was mostly in front of me so now the overall volume of the source is basically doubled as it comes out of multiple speakers. truplay does nothing to m
Hi everyone,I’m currently planning out a Sonos system for my new living area and would love some expert eyes on the layout. It's a very open, airy space with a vaulted ceiling and a massive floor-to-ceiling window wall on one side, which I know can be a nightmare for acoustics.I’m trying to figure out the best placement for a cohesive soundstage. Here is the current setup/plan:I’m planning on a soundbar (likely an Arc) under the TV and a subwoofer. As you can see in the photos, the room is quite deep. The "living" area is carved out by the L-shaped sofa, but it flows directly into the dining area and kitchen. The Rear Speaker Dilemma: I’m wondering if I actually need two rear speakers for this space to get a true surround feel, or if they’ll get "lost" given the open layout behind the sofa.Placement: If I do go with rears (like Era 100s or 300s), where on earth do I put them?Putting them on stands behind the sofa seems like the obvious choice, but would they be too close to the listener
