I recently upgraded my bedroom setup with an Arc (thank you to Sonos refurbs on eBay) and Era 100 surrounds (already had a sub mini) and I absolutely love it.But… my old Hisense 4k tv only has an arc, not earc, so no atmos for me at this time.With potential xmas sales on the horizon, I’m looking to upgrade the tv to something that will pass atmos from my ATV - are there any particular brands I should/should not consider (I’m currently considering lower priced mini led or Oled from TCL, LG, Philips or Samsung)?Having read several posts on here, I get the feeling that simply having earc may not be enough? Also, does the tv need to support atmos itself? My guess is no, as it will be routing the audio directly to the arc?Thank you!

Hi folks, I’ve recently upgraded from a Sonos Beam Gen 1 to a Gen 2 and have a query about Dolby Atmos effects. The Sonos Beam Gen 2 is located in our lounge, which has a roughly 10-foot high ceiling with a light fitting on the middle that hangs down slightly. At the moment I can’t seem to hear any rear or overhead sounds when playing Dolby Atmos content. I’ve used Trueplay to set up the soundbar, but does anyone have any recommendations for possible Height Level audio settings, please? I’m not sure whether to go lower or higher in those settings (or leave them at zero) in order to pick up any overhead or surround sounds. Thanks in advance! Matt Moderator edit: Changed Gen 1 to Gen 2 for clarity

Hello!Just bought Arc Ultra and hit a problem, probably, with a broken speaker, producing crackling sound at a certain frequencies on the right side. I've asked Sonos Support and they have, after a long conversation, escalated the issue higher to some technical team. It's been more than two weeks now, and I still got no response, however I have contacted support several times, they never were able to say when that technical team will contact me.The product is quite new, I should have 30 days free return warranty - maybe I should request returning the product instead of hoping on sonos support to do a warranty case?I have a case number, but cannot do anything to check its status. Kind of a weird situation, especially considering that the product already came defective to me.What should I do?The Arc Ultra was bought as a part of a TV bundle with two era 100s, they work fine. Will I be able to return just Arc alone?Any help is appreciate

I have a sonos amp that currently powers, and its situated across the room from where my TV is. All of the inwall speaker wires are at the location of the amp, that’s why its there. I am wondering if I were to purchase a sonos sounbar system, would I be able to connect the amp to the soundbar wirelessly to power my surround sound speakers? Connecting the soundbar to the amp via a cable is out of the question. They are both on the same network, however its wifi. I could use ethernet but I’ve actually had better compatibility with having the amp on wifi due to having several other era 100 and era 300 speakers on the same network via wifi. I read that if one device is on wifi, they should all be on wifi.

recently purchased an Arc and replaced my beam. Everything states the same by using physical Ethernet to connect all devices. However, after I set up the surround sound, I noticed those rear Sonos ones behind me getting cutting sound. Hi the problem I have is what is in the title, when I stream music directly to Sonos Arc I can control the volume using the TV remote, but only if the TV is off, if the TV is on but the source is still set to a streaming service or AirPlay the TV remote is not able to change the volume. I have an LG G1 and use the magic remote.

Can we please get center channel control on the Arc Ultra, it’s currently set 4-6dB too loud! Which makes it so loud over music and any panning vocals or voices.

Enjoying my new Sonos 5.1 setup playing music remastered with Spatial (7.1) mix. The Atmos overhead channels are missing but what surround goodness that's decoded is interesting. The sound stage is either a 70's 'Quadrophonic' thing with lots of swirling motion and panning. Or with classical, it drops you inside the orchestra (as a member) with the violin section behind you and low brass in front. Very different from  'I'm sitting in the audience' staging.I like the depth and effect for movies so why not music? Well, it still is kinda weird to me. Almost distracting hearing the stuff they remastered into a mix that never was mixed for 7.1. Like remixing makes what was intended more better by blowing it out in some sorta spatial dimension. I confess some new stuff mastered first as 7.1 and yeah, Pink Floyd tunes sound pretty cool. Will there be a transition for most music out there to be remastered? I dunno, but Dolly and Johnny should be left in two-dimension

Am I right in  thinking that Sonos Play1 can be used in separate rooms but not as surround speakers with arc ultra sound bar? Connected using wifi not Airplay 

Hi! I’ve bought a new TV (Samsung Q7Fa) which doesn’t have an optical out. I’ve read that I need a HDMI ARC to Optical adapter/converter. I also wan’t to be able to control the playbar volume with the TV remote. Does anyone have a suggestion for an adapter that will work? Thanks in advance!

Can I conect lg subwoofer without soundbar to sonos amp 

hi quick question as novice. Im buying a new tv and sound system for tv and audio for new open plan room. Being old i assumed i needed to provide an inset in the wall and provided a space 8cm deep big enough for 65 inch tv and sound bar.  I was talking to richer sounds and realise the tv are only 11mm deep so thought as they had  a deal on samsung 77 95 id put it over hole. they said i could put a sonos sound bar unnderneath resting on the inset. this would mean the sound bar stuck out 2cm from the tv. Richer sounds said this would be fine s speakers on the front. But reading install sonos says needs 100mm above bar, i would want to make this minimum i could as gap between two would show the inset and might look strange. Also they said if i bought the arc it could play the music for the room aswell, the room is approx 10m long 6m wide and tv just off middle of width wall. The other option is to go with tvs sound bar (free at moment with tv)   and put in seperate eras for music, Any

Hi guys! I recently bought a pair of era 300 mainly to listen to music. With Roku's app I can stream the audio to the pair and it works good. However I am missing some of that 5.1 experience because Bluetooth from Roku is kinda limited. So I was thinking of adding a soundbar to the system. Will the era300 full functions be too limited if I pair it with a beam? Will it work as 5.1 system anyway, with Dolby Atmos? Also: to hear music I have to create a different system within the Sonos app? Read some stuff about this here in this forum and got only more confused

I want to move eras around for other purposes, like playing music without the full surround set up. is it possible to create a duplicate living room where eras are not set up in surround?

I just bought a Sonos Arc refurb for a good price and it has not shipped yet...the Arc is a little bit "old" now haha. Anything I might be missing out on? I just use my TV with an nvidia Shield Pro and will use the Arc with the eARC port on my TV. Nothing too fancy in terms of use, just a PLEX library and some streaming services.Also I see that only Apple iOS is supported for their room configurations. I do not use Apple products. Am I missing out much by not being able to set up the speakers and map the room so to speak with an iOS device?I am using a 65” LG G5 OLED. Bedroom setup, I opted to not get the subwoofer.Thanks :)

Hello, I was wondering if it’s possible to play sound through the Sonos Arc and the Sonos Ace at the same time. My friend likes louder sound so he’d like to listen using the headphones while I would listen using the soundbar.

When trying to watch a movie through Disney app on Apple TV, the sound is broken, intermittent…… all other apps play fine…. Netflix, prime….. it’s just the Disney app…. Advice please
