I'm using ATV with YTTV and the Sonos app says sound is in DD 5.1 when watching NFL in multiview. In reading other forums, YTTV is only stereo in multiview, and it's clear this is the case when putting my ear to the surrounds. When switching to an individual game rather than Multiview, 5.1 kicks in.So why does the Sonos app say it's 5.1 when the multiview broadcast is stereo? This makes me doubt Sonos' software recognition.
I have a Sonos Beam connected to a TCL Roku TV- with no other speakers or accessories connected. While watching TV, the audio from the Beam will randomly dip low, about 80% lower than the current volume, for 3-4 seconds, then return to normal volume. This only started happening after I started using Sonos Voice Control. So I initially was suspecting that the Sonos Voice Control was getting triggered by TV’s audio, and thinking someone on TV is saying “Hey Sonos”. But over time I’ve noticed it appears that it happens more randomly than that suspicion.To estimate- while watching a 2 hour movie, this happens 1-3 times on average.I contacted support in the past, and sent in Diagnostic Numbers, but they wanted me to change the HDMI cable or get on video support which I didn’t have time for.Anyone else experience this?Any ideas why this happens?
I have a Samsung TV and a Beam Speaker. When I turn on the TV, the Sonos App on my iPhone no longer recognizes that the TV is on and I am unable to control the TV (Beam) volume with my iphone Sonos App. I am still able to use my Samsung remote to adjust the Beam volume, but I prefer to use my iphone Sonos App to adjust the volume . How do I get my iphone Sonos App to recognize that the TV is on? I already checked Settings on the Sonos app, and “TV Autoplay” is turned on. I tried turning the TV Autoplay on and off, and I tried turning off and on my iPhone, but this did not help .
I have 3 sources (Nvidia Shield, PC & Golf sim PC). Arc+sub+era+era as the audio target. Benq LK936ST projector as the video target. I had been successfully using a OREI HDA-935 audio extractor but the 2nd one just died after 3 months of use. Can anyone point me in the direction of a more robust/reliable option that will maintain full audio fidelity? Thanks!
Has anybody used the HDFury Arcana to successfully pair the Sonos arc with a Samsung TV with an Earc HDMI port, and a Direct TV receiver? Since it costs $299 I would rather not buy one if it isn’t going to fix the issue. I posted elsewhere (as have others) about my new 2023 model Samsung TV not recognizing or ‘handshaking’ with my Sonos arc. At the moment I’m using an optical input between the two, but I don’t think I’m getting Dolby Atmos or the best out of my Sonos surround system.
I have a Panasonic TV and Sonos Beam plus Sub Mini and two Ones at the rear.Due to the failure of the HDMI ARC port on the TV I have had to connect the Beam to the TV using the optical port and the provided adaptor.Will there be any difference in audio quality and what will be the downside of not having CEC (or Viera)?PS I am still able to use the remote for volume even though it says "speakers off" when adjusting volume.
Hello, I have a brand new LG OLED65G29LA and a brand new Sonos Arc.I have connected both with the included HDMI cable from Sonos. Then, I switched on the TV and set up the preferences for sound to HDMI.Then, I started the Arc the first time, added it to my Sonos system and the Sonos App asked automatically to serahc for an HDMI-Arc connection. But it fails. I did this several times.No success. I´ve tried both HDMI ports at the LG TV. Anyone an idea how to connect both in the right way? Thanks
Hi there. I just bought a Sonos Beam Gen 2 soundbar, and made some changes in the settings for a better experience when watching movies and tv series. Although Im enjoying the sound, it’s not so good to listen music with the settings I have now. This weekend Im going to buy a pair of Sonos ONE SL to add the surround. My question, it is possible to listen the music only in the pair of SONOS ONE SL?And using the pair and sonos beam gen only for movies/series.
I recently purchased a couple of Era 100s and set them up as surrounds with my Beam Gen2. I can’t shake the feeling that there is some delay between the Beam and the Era’s. This manifests in a slight echo, mostly noticable with 5.1 tracks that have a fair amount of ambient sound/music. Not sure if that maybe also due to my room acoustics. Also i had a couple of dropouts (Era 100s only) the other day.Sadly there is no way to check/debug connection issues as far as i am aware of due to the Era line not using SonosNet anymore or at least the Sonos Matrix doesn't show anything in my case. Is there any other way to check for issues or do i need to contact Sonos Support? Not sure if i'm imaging things here but it would be good to at least rule out any technical issues.My Beam is wired btw. and the two Eras are connected to a fairly good Wifi6 AP.
Hi there2 days ago my Samsung tv stopped sending sound through my Beam and surrounds. I’ve tried all the previous suggestions such as TV software update, unplugging all cables from both sides etc. the App says it’s connected to the tv but still no sound. If I reset / unplug everything as above then the sound comes through again but once I turn the Tv off the lights on all speakers start to flash white and it’s not recognised again once I turn things on again? any help would be appreciated before I end up resetting all speakers to factory reset thanks Dan
Hello, I have been using my Beam on my Samsung TV for over a year and it has been great. Now there is no sound coming from my Beam. who I disconnect the HDMI Arc, the TV speakers start working. when I connect the HDMI, it says that the Beam has been successfully connected. None of my other HDMI ports have anything connected to them...only the Beam. Any help would be great.
I have a Samsung TV (UA55ES7500M purchased in 2013) with a Sonos Arc soundbar purchased a year ago, connected to a Sonos Amp (with Silver brand speakers). The HDMI (arc) connection has been working perfectly, since I installed the Arc.Three days ago (1 sep) it stopped working and the sound output defaulted to the TV speakers. A TV factory reset restored the sound output connection to the HDMI (arc) port and sound again came through the arc sound bar. However after the next TV power off/on, the TV sound output again defaulted to the TV speakers.Here is a very strange thing. If I manually change the TV sound output to the HDMI(arc) port, the sound is played through the arc soundbar - I.e. it actually works but ONLY on 2 free to air TV channels (12 and 15) plus the internet app Samsung TV channels. I have checked this several times and channels 12 and 15 have sound via the sound bar but none of the other free to air channels have sound via the sound bar.Does anyone have any ideas?My sus
Hi guys I'm looking for some input on how to correctly set up my media setup (unfortunately I'm a bit of a noob in this area).So the situation I have is as following I have a range of media devices (ps4, Nvidea shied, Calbe box, ...) and 2 output devices A Samsung 4K earc enabled tv and a formovie theatre 4k earc enabled short throw. The audio is connected to a sonos system (earc).Everything works fine if I connect a single input to a single output and the earc out of either the tv or the ultra short throw to the earc sonos.My goal is to buy some devices that enable me to switch easily between those devices and stream to the desired output device (they never play at the same time). (the switch boxes are displayed on the schema in orange - yet to be bought).I would obviously prefer a single remote/device to orchestrate this : aka select desired input and output with it's respective earc to the sonos. Does such a device exist or any tips on how to set this up?Any help on this would be gr
This AM, with no changes to my set-up for months. The TV sound stopped via ARC/HDMI to Beam. I have read all the other sets/resets ect ect. I went into TV settings and changed Dolby Digital Plus to Dolby Digital or PCM and the sound came back.Is this now a fault with the beam as obviously the TV is sending a signal. Thoughts
I had to get rid of my beloved Beam 2 and it’s only partly Sonos’ fault.Ran into the problem with LG TVs not supporting DTS anymore, not even a passthrough. As an avid physical media collector I have maybe 100 movies with DTS audio coding but when playing them through my LG TV the sound is cutting out. Just skips every few minutes for a second or so. It’s most likely due to my player (Sony UBP-X700) decoding the track to PCM on the fly and not being able to keep up.The solution would be to plug my Blu-Ray player directly to my Beam but alas, Sonos soundbars lack an HDMI-in connection.So this is just one customer’s feedback so that the Sonos team registers a demand for multiple HDMI connections in their soundbars. Maybe if there are enough of us the Sonos team takes notice.
I have the new Beam, play1s and a sub working with the LG TV. All generally works well, but I have found recently that if I turn off the TV, or if it goes into sleep mode, that the volume is set to zero on the beam (surround sound system) and needs to be manually turned up again using the TV remote. I am actually using an Apple TV in the setup, but the Sonos beam is connected to the HDMI ARC port. Like I said all works well, except this little niggle.. Anyone else seen this? Any ideas Sonos support team? thanks
Can we do this setup ? In Front Right and Left with Sonos Amp connected to the TV along with the Sub and at the back (Rear) will take Era 300 or Sonos 5 , is this setup will work as 1 Surround setup or not ? I don't want to use Arc , I want to use Right and left in wall Sonance Speakers with Sonos Amp + Sub + rear, back Speakers either Era 300 or Sonos 5 , can we do this setup or not.
I have an Arc and the mic turns on and off without warning at random times. It makes a tone every time this happens. It does it with music or the tv. I called sonos and got a replacement, but that didn't fix the issue. How is this happening with a capacitive touch button when nothing is touching it? Is the device just designed horribly and there is no fix?
Please somebody please help ! Every now and then very often recently, the serriund how as (???) i tried every thing , hard reset , un bing the sub , un bing the stereos, nothing help , everything seem ok i play music in night and by the morning its again appear for unlimit time and then fix its self after a while please find me a solution
Maybe this topic has been discussed in some form before but I would like to see If I can get a definitive answer. My setup now is Arc + Sub + Era 300. My Tv is a LG CX with passthrough enabled. So I just upgraded my Play:1 to Era 300 for surround sound. My main playback device is an ATV 4K with Infuse for playing back my Blu-ray rips. This all works great except ofcourse for Dolby TrueHD Atmos because the ATV 4K will convert everyyhing to LPCM. This is the reason I bought a Zidoo Z9X Pro with passthrough for movies with Dolby TrueHD Atmos. This also works great and the Era 300's sound amazing. So I was doing some testing with some Dolby TrueHD files (No Atmos! This is important) and I noticed that the Zidoo with passthrough is much louder than the ATV 4K + Infuse that outputs LPCM 7.1. Reduce loud sounds is off. I know that in theory the LPCM stream should be identical to the TrueHD stream (just uncompressed). Any ideas on how this is possible. Does the ATV 4K just have lower outpu
I already own a Playbar and recently purchased a Play 1. One thing I find invaluable is being able to control the Playbar using the TV remote, even if playing music. It is very intuitive and easy to use. What I've noticed however is that now when grouped with the play 1 the TV remote volume control only manages the Playbar vs. the whole group volume. Is there a way to add an option to have the TV remote control either only the Playbar or the [b]whole group[/b] volume once grouped? Would help to extend the handy and intuitive control the bring the volume up and down across the rooms.

Sonos Playbar cutting in & out intermittently when playing music if the audio optical cable is connected to Sony XBR-75X950H TV and the TV is turned off. If I unplug the optical cable from the Sony TV (TV power is off) the playbar does not cut out and plays continuously with no problem.The playbar does not cutout when the TV is on and audio optical cable is connected with the TV sound coming through the playbar (surround sound).
