I have a Sonos Playbar and a pair of Era 100’s.  I want the Era’s to play the same audio that the Playbar is playing and I don’t want to set them up as surrounds.  This is so I don’t have to have the Playbar as loud due to audio traveling in my house.

Is there a way to group those three speakers together such that I don’t have to go into the app each time I want to watch TV or listen to music and pair them together?  Also, my TV remote will only change the volume of the Playbar and not the Era speakers.

I just want to be able to use the one remote and control all three speakers without having to touch the app.

Thank you, in advance, for all of the help!

From my knowledge of Sonos, unless they are used as surrounds, only the app can control them in the manner you want. A tv remote is designed to control the “room” it is connected to.

You may be able to to this with an Alexa or Google device, but there are issues with both platforms and Sonos right now.

Your grouped 100s may suffer from dropouts when playing TV sound.  With music there should be no dropouts.  Let us know if that group behaves well with TV sound.  Mine did not.

You cannot use Era 100s as surrounds with Playbar as they are not compatible surrounds, so that is never an option anyway.

There is an option in the app to Ungroup on Autoplay. If you disable that toggle the Playbar and Era 100s should stay grouped until either room is rebooted ie. next software update, where you would need to regroup them.

As already mentioned, the remote will only adjust the Playbar volume, not any grouped room.

Thanks all!
