First time using a soundbar. Is it normal to have some delay on lip sync?

Here are some lip sync suggestions. Make sure that the TV and source device sync’s are set, along with the SONOS adjustment.

In general I find that video industry lip sync is very sloppy. Film lip sync was standardized by the early 1940’s. I’ve been in a TV station control room, the sound was already out of sync, and the operators didn’t seem to care. There seem to be fewer complaints from people living outside of the US.

None that is noticeable.  Since the Ray is an optical connection, it plays what it is fed, there’s no sync logic.  Check your TV menu to see if there is any delay settings for Audio/Video and see if you can adjust it to make them in sync.

Might also want to look at the other options in your sound menu. Pass through and the like so the tv isn’t trying to do some processing of the sound.

Just to add….

Lip Sync issues can vary by source. Sonos has a lip sync adjust in the menu for the Ray. However, before I’d mess with the Ray Lip sync in the Sonos menu, I’d check for Lip sync adjustments in the Tv sound menu as has been suggested.
