Hi @Gregoo

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with getting Atmos audio through your Arc with your Sony TV and Panasonic BluRay player.

The following must be true for you to get Atmos audio:

  1. The content you are watching has to have been recorded in Atmos
  2. The source device must support Atmos
  3. The TV must support Atmos
  4. And the sound device must support Atmos

I can only guarantee the last 3 - if you have not specifically selected Atmos-encoded content, you will not see the Atmos badge in the Sonos app.

I found your TV manual here: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/musltn1/v1/en-003/index.html.

According to it, press the Spanner (Quick Settings) button on the remote control, then select the following settings: [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — [Audio output] — the desired setting of those below:

  • Speakers - Select external speakers [Audio system]

  • Digital audio output - Configure the output method when outputting digital audio. This setting is available only when [Speakers] is set to [Audio system]. Choose Auto or Passthrough.

  • eARC setting - enable this or you will only be able to get Atmos from streaming services and not from BluRays.

Your Panasonic BluRay player should probably just use the default settings, but if you get no audio, I’d make sure that the Sound Effect Frequency setting is set to 48KHz and make sure the Digital Audio Output setting is set to Dolby Audio. The manual PDF can be found here: [link]

I hope this helps.

If I had closed the topic, you would not have been able to reply to me.

I only reply when no community members have done so for 8 hours or more, as I am required to do.

Thank you.

You are most welcome!
