Arc Ultra - Wall Mount or Console

The arrangement I have for my 83” wall mounted TV will allow me to either wall mount the Arc Ultra at the suggested 4” below the bottom of the TV or, I can simply place it on top of the console which would be about 7” below the bottom of the TV.  Ascetics, cost, and effort aside, is one preferred over the other for best sound?  In case it matters, the front surface of the TV is about 2.5” forward of the wall.

The four inch dimension is the recommended minimum. Closer spacing might block some of ARC’s upward firing sounds because a wall mounted ARC might actually be behind the TV. You’ll be fine with your seven inch spacing.

Experiment with the ARC placement. Many viewers feel that ARC sounds better if it is brought forward to the front edge of the console.

The Arc does some internal tuning when on the wall mount versus sitting. That adjusts the sound so it sounds good in either location.

Mine is on a console, near the front edge and on short stands, the stands more to clear the TV mount than for sound.
