I have two play:3’s paired with a sub at the rear of my living room, which has been providing great stereo audio for music playback - we use it all the time.I just added a Beam so that we could get great TV audio also - setting it up paired with the sub and the two play:3’s as surrounds. Now, however, when I play music, there is audio coming out the Beam - and I can’t find a way to stop that. It seems there are only three options:Ambient Mode - Subtle, low volume audio from surrounds with a limited frequency range. This is the default setting for surround speakers during music playback. Full Mode - Full range audio for surrounds at the same volume as the home theater speaker Main Home Theatre device only (Arc/Beam etc.) - No audio from surrounds, which you may toggle ‘off’ in room settings .Where is the 4th option - No audio from the home theater speaker, full range from the “surrounds”? Surely I am not going to need to reconfigure the entire system every time I switch from Music to TV
Hi, I used to have a Vizio P65. It stood tall enough that the Arc sat neatly in front of it on the entertainment center. I just upgraded to a LG CX65, and it sits so low that the Arc blocks an inch or more of the bottom of the TV.I bought the wall mounting kit for the Arc, but all the instructions are for mounting below the TV and I did a bit of research and it looks like there could be problems with ATMOS mounting above the TV (I do have a vaulted ceiling if that makes a difference). I’d love some opinions on the efficacy of putting it above the TV. Thanks.
Hey allI’ve read a lot of posts on users having trouble connecting the Beam to Samsung televisions, but can’t seem to find a definitive answer on whether my TV will experience these issues.Does anyone use the Beam with a Samsung UE50RU7400U, and if so, do you have issues with it?I’m really keen to add the Beam to my setup but don’t want to run the risk of buying it and it not workingThank you in advance for any help you have provide :-)Rex
Cannot get lip synch with new Samsung 2020 TV via HDMI arc, was fine with Samsung 2015 model.Have tried rebooting all devices, removing speach delay on tv but sound still seems to be behind video. I see many others reporting the same issue.
Got the full Sonos home theater (Arc, Sub, One’s) but...have a potential problem with the Sub. I have two VERY inquisitive and playful cats...who are starting to play in the Sub’s hole--I’m scared they are going to put a hole in or rip the speakers. Are there any kind of grill coverings I can get for the sub, or other ideas, to keep their paws out of the insides? Thanks
Hi !I have 2 play:1 speakers. I would like to get a vinyl turntable and use those 2 speakers with it. How can I do so?Also I would like to buy a home cinema speaker for small TV like the Beam. Can it be used also with the turntable?
BBC say “contact your supplier”. Can’t see anything about this on BBC or Sonos websites. Anyone know what’s happening?
I have a Sonos Beam in my bedroom and for some reason it won't show on my Android device (despite signing out and rebooting the app) however on my IOS device i can see the beam and set it playing. It still isn't visible whilst playing on my android controller.
Hello,I use the Sonos app 12.2.7 on iOS, mainly in conjunction with Apple Music. To play a specific song or album, I use the 'search' icon at the bottom of the screen. It works well enough to find anything available on Apple Music. However, when I want to set an alarm to a specific song or album, the 'search' function is no longer available - I must select a song or an album that has already been added to 'my music' on Apple Music. As a result, the procedure is long and inconvenient. First, I go to the Apple Music app and add the song or album to 'my music'. Only then, I return to the Sonos app and set the alarm. Often, when the newly added song or album is not recognized immediately my Sonos, I must close the app and wait for a bit before trying again. Is there a simpler, more direct way that I am missing ? I would like to be able to search all of Apple Music when setting up an alarm, just as I can when I am looking for something to play on the spot.Thank you in advance for your replies
Had one of my SYMFONISK lamps die, Sonos rouble shot over the phone and recommended replacement. So mailed it back to family in the states to return and they were told at the Tampa Ikea that the SYMFONISK lamp was discountinued. they had no more there and couldn’t order it from the store to ship to my families house anymore. Anyone else heard of this? I was able to order one online and had it shipped ot my familys place still. The ikea employee said he thinks its because of issues with them? I have another that is perfectly fine. Hope this new one is not a dud too!
Hi, does it make sense to have 2 in-ceiling speakers in the kitchen and 2 fives on the sideboard in the living area? I can’t put 2 speakers in the ceiling above the dining room table in the grey box, but I could put in just one on the garden side of the ceiling. Or would two Sonos 1’s on stands high up in the kitchen be better than ceiling speakers?
We struggle with hearing dialogue. We have a Sonos Beam and two Sonos One speakers setup as surrounds. Our old wired surround system at our cabin has dialogue coming thru the left and right rear speakers. Can we achieve this (dialogue thru Sonos Ones) with our new Sonos system at home?
Hello! So I have encountered an issue regarding a recent order from a local retailer here in Riga, Latvia. I ordered SONOS Five from their internet store - https://www.tet.lv/veikals/sonos-five-black.html which appears to really be SONOS Five. It looks the same as the one from the SONOS product page. They delivered me this product instead - SONOS PLAY:5 (Gen2) (see the pictures attached): Photo 1Photo 2Photo 3Photo 4When I contacted them about this issue, they insisted that it is the same product. Is it really because a simple google search seems to reveal different information? Also they are saying that after contacting SONOS, they have be assured that it is the same speaker.Am I really mixing up two different products here? In regards, Linda
I have a new LG UN8100 6LB which features an option for using the TV surround sound and the optical out simultaneously. I have a beam which is currently connected via HDMI ARC. I don’t care about losing voice control features if I switch to optical - what are the audio benefits/pitfalls of the two options: HDMI Arc to Beam or TV surround + optical to Beam ?
Anyone else experiencing intermittent surround sound performance? I have a playbar, Sub (Gen 1) and 2 Play 1's (Gen 1) up to date software but have noticed that recently sometimes the surround sound speakers drop out so i only get sound through play bar. Its not often but mostly when watching terrestrial television.
Hi everyone, please take my thanks in advance for any help you can offer.I’ve been wanting to get myself a Sonos system for the LONGEST time, and last year was finally able to get hold of a ‘Beam’ for downstairs and a ‘One’ for upstairs. Loving the system, I saved up and got hold of two ‘One SL’s yesterday to try and get a surround setup with the Beam downstairs. However something doesn’t seem to be working with the surround One SLs and I’d really appreciate your help. I’ve tried doing some googling but haven’t yet found a solution. I apologise in advance for the wall of text but hopefully this helps save a lot of back-and-forth. Please understand that I am relatively competent with tech but am by no means an expert here, I just want surround sound in my living room.Below I’ll describe each combination of settings I’ve tried and the corresponding result.NOTE- While trying to figure this out I’ve come across many people saying they’ve been able to get surround sound working just fine EX
Hello everyone, for the past few months I’ve been successfully using my Symfonisk Lamp as an Airplay speaker. But this month the Symfonisk just disappeared from airplay and I can’t seem to get it back in there. I’ve both restarted and resetted the device and the router but nothing seems to work. I can play music via Spotify connect and can play audiobooks via the audible connector in the Sonos app but airplay is essentially gone. I also cannot add the speaker to my HomeKit as it can’t be found there as well.I have also tried connecting it via Lan Cable but that doesn’t solve the issue. What can I do to make it work again? I’m using an IPhone 12 and IPad Pro.
Hello,I have a Sonos Amp + 2x BW703 as LR front speakers + BW ASW608 Sub + 2x Play:3s as surround speakers. Can I replace my 2x Play:3s with Gen 2 Connect:Amp with 2 non Sonos speakers as surround. If yes, should I follow the old instructions saying that I should connect both the Amp (it is already connected) and the Connect:Amp, and use the “http://playbarIP:1400/wiredsat.htm” procedure like connecting to a Playbar? Thanks for your responses.
I’ve got a Sonos beam connected to my tv, with two S2’s and a Sonos sub. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and saw an article saying to check that it is playing in 5.1. I’ve checked and realised my tv was playing in PCM rather than Dolby Digital.I’ve set out my set up below:Samsung TV model UE42F5000Amazon 4K Fire TV Stick Sonos BeamSonos S2 x 2Sonos Sub My Sonos beam is connected to the TV via Dolby digital output, as this TV does not have a HDMI ARC. The fire tv stick is connected in HDMI 1.Everything else is set up and my TV was working fine, but it was using PCM instead of Dolby Digital.I went to change my tv to DD from PCM but it was greyed out, until I then went on the TV stick settings and changed the settings under Audio > Surround Sound and selected Always Dolby Digital. On my TV settings I clicked menu, then sound, checked my speaker settings are on external and then went to Additional settings where I could now select Dolby Digital. Both seem to be on DD so I’
I have DALI Rubicon 2C wireless speakers. I bought a PORT so I could add them to my existing Sonos system. The connection to the speakers is intermittent - typically it drops after a couple of minutes. Are these speakers incompatable (they work fine with everything else!) Thanks
Hello,We are a home automation company and we are interested in buying your products. We have contacted the distributor in the area (Kpsport) but they do not give us availability of most of the products in our order, nor delivery time. We would like to know if there is any solution to know if I go ahead with the order or we have to look for another alternative with another brand.Looking forward to hearing from you soon,Regards.
Has anyone noticed a sound quality difference when listening to Spotify started directly from the Spotify app vs from the Sonos app. The message “Started from Spotify” will appear in the System section of the Sonos App.
I know there are a few older threads here suggesting Sonos users can utilize the Lutron Caseta Pico Audio Remote to control volume, play/pause, next/favourites - but I found through other forums (probably Lutron ones) that the standard Pico remote is essentially identical to the Audio remote, except for labeling, and works perfectly well for controlling Sonos once paired and setup. The Standard Pico remote here in Canada will cost about $23 vs. $50 or more for the Audio remote (Amazon pricing). I used my label maker to create custom audio icon labels (see pic) to mimic the function of the Audio remote, but this isn’t strictly necessary. It’s a shame that Lutron charges such a high premium for the Audio labeling but I guess it is a niche market. They both come in black as well, which I would have preferred - however this again is more than twice the price. The pedestals are $13 up here and highly recommended...they have a nice weight and grippy base. Yes you must have a Lutron wire
I have a Sonos Zp90 player that has worked fine until recently with external speakers (Audioengine). Nothing new changed. It just plays intermittently, and is so incredibly annoying. Anyone else experiencing it? I think if I ask Sonos they’re just going to try to get me to upgrade to a better system. I like my speakers just fine and I’d like to hang on to them. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
Recently purchased a Sonos Move as “fill” for outdoors to supplement the patio speakers.Over time (30 min plus) I notice that the Sonos gets out of sync (behind). The longer the more behind.Other wireless speakers (apple AX attached to a McIntosh amp and my Denon AVR) don’t fall behind.Suggestions? Thanks
