What setup for open-plan living space

Hi, does it make sense to have 2 in-ceiling speakers in the kitchen and 2 fives on the sideboard in the living area? I can’t put 2 speakers in the ceiling above the dining room table in the grey box, but I could put in just one on the garden side of the ceiling.

Or would two Sonos 1’s on stands high up in the kitchen be better than ceiling speakers?
