How to switch between systems in Sonos app? Every time I try to use the app to control volume after using one system, it mutes or disconnects the arc. I have to unplug the arc and then it works again. There has to be a better smoother way of doing this - using the app for two different systems on same network.

Hello,  I dont see any reason why the other Topic was closed. Refering to I will not accept the fact that this is just closed to say “Just put it in same VLAN”. This is far more like a F*** O*** statement towards your customers. The previous models, were pretty fine working, untill the ERA has been released. How hard is it to listen also to your customers who wants to secure their enviroment and put things in different VLANS?  If this is not being fixed in the coming months, our stores in the Netherlands (35+), will not be onboarded with SONOS setups. To be honest, I still want this to get to work, but if this will stay like this, there is no other choice to see other brands. This is not a threat or a warning, just the facts.  Hope that someone from SONOS reads this actually. 

I manage my local music with Apple Music.  I then copy the entire music directory to a NAS so that the tracks are always available.  In the past, Sonos could harvest the playlists out of the .muscilibrary database but that recently stopped working.Is this a know bug?  Is there a work around?  I’ve attempted to use .xml and/or .m3u playlists as a tactical solution but Sonos flat out ignores the .xml files and the .m3u files show up as playlists but the list itself is empty.Thanks for any guidance.Charles.

I have a upper and lower deck wanting to add a new zone for lower deck. Their is a JBL2210 sub powered by bridged crown 1502 for the upper deck mounted to ceiling of lower Deck.Will the sonos amps allow me to use a Y cable from both sub outs to a common 1 channel crown amp?Or will it require a type of autosensing RCA switch to flip the sub from (upper deck sonos amp zone 1) to (lower deck sonos amp zone 2)? 

The new system update included this:Authentication: This setting applies to third-party integrations that use Sonos cloud services and Local Area Network (LAN) APIs. When enabled, it requires those integrations to authenticate before connecting. Can someone please point me to any documentation for the aforementioned LAN APIs? developer.sonos.com covers SMAPI and the cloud API, but no mention of this LAN API.

Hello everyone,I would like to buy a Ray and a Roam 2 to:connect Ray on my TV, to watch movies and enhance tv audio have a Roam 2 AND the Ray connected to play music in sync, having the Roam 2 in another room, playing music from my Android phone (Sonos app)is this scenario possible? Or having the Ray connected to the TV only enable it to play music fro mthe TV?Moreover, if the previous scenario would be possible, can I add eventually a Era 100 to play music, in sync, also to it in addition to Ray and Roam 2 (3 devices simultaneously). Thanks!!

Bottom line: Connect ALL Sonos speakers directly to Wi-Fi if you have a strong Wi-Fi 6 mesh network.Don’t connect ANY speakers to Ethernet, as often recommended for older Sonos speakers like Play:1. This solved my problems with speakers dropping out of a large group and made older Sonos speakers more responsive while grouped with newer Sonos speakers. The details: Sonos Performance Tip: When Not to Use SonosNet (WM:0) Setup Summary:  ~10 Sonos speakers (mostly Play:1 and some newer models) No speakers wired to Ethernet A Boost was available but unplugged Strong Wi-Fi 6 mesh network (e.g., eero, TP-Link, etc.) 1 Gbps fiber internet   Findings:After trying both SonosNet (WM:0) and Wi-Fi mode (WM:1):  SonosNet made performance worse in this setup — more dropouts and instability Switching all speakers to WM:1 (Wi-Fi) resulted in clear improvement Boost was unplugged, and no speakers were wired via Ethernet — relying purely on the mesh Wi-Fi proved more stable   Takeaway: If you

Hi.  I am running two 16.1 systems in different homes - one was cloned from the other several years ago as Sonos had no other way to copy Playlists.  I now want to move a couple of speakers from one home to the other.   I havent upgraded anything, and the comments on the new App continue to tell me that is the right decision for me - Music Library, Playlists, ...and without a roll back plan when I discover the new system wont work with my currently fully functioning wireless I never will…..   So now to the question.If i take these speakers (a PLay 3 and a Play One), that are running identical software, and using my 16.1 app on the Android that is now dedicated to Sonos, will it allow me to add them, or will I get the ‘you need to do a system upgrade”.   Is there any genius out there that has either done this, or knows what might work.  I sadly suspect the moderators will respond with a party line telling me that the new app is great, but nope, not until there is a roll back option.   (

I recently purchased the new Sonos Arc Ultra as the main soundbar for my living room. I’m in a new house, and the living room is just about 20 yards away from another secondary living space. One of the things that sold me on Sonos was the ability so connect many speakers throughout the home, since we have a fairly open floor plan and like to entertain. In my secondary living space I have 2 bookshelf speakers and a subwoofer that I’d like to be able to sync with the main soundbar for TV audio. Will the Sonos Port work for this? We use YouTube TV, so playing audio through the two discreet speaker systems means the audio in both rooms is out of sync with each other, which is maddening since the rooms are within earshot of each other. I’d planned on hooking up the Port to my bookshelf speakers, but I’ve read some places that there is a lag on the TV audio. It’s not clear to me if that’s lag from the TV itself, or from another “primary” sonos device that’s playing TV audio. Basically, the g

I have read extensively on the Sonos Forum and elsewhere and am struggling for clarity on a fairly basic question: can a Sonos Sub be connected to a Sonos Amp via standard home WiFi or can it only be connected via the network that the Sonos Amp creates (unclear whether that is called Sonosnet or something else when it is 2.4GHZ or 5 GHZ but neither work for me as signals don’t reach far enough).  My use case is pretty simple:  I have an AV closet with multiple Sonos Amps are that are connected to ceiling speakers in multiple parts of the house.  The subs for the rooms are too far away from the amps to connect via the proprietary Sonos network.  I know this because if I put the subs next to the amps near the AV closet they connect and work fine.  But when I move them to the relevant rooms they show up as Sub Not Connected.  I do not have Ethernet ports to hardwire the subs in these rooms. So, is there a way to connect the Subs to the amps via WiFi?  Is so, what settings do I need to mod

I have done a factory reset of my S15. Get the flashing orange which times out when searching for nearby products and then I get the flashing green and white. App will not find product to allow me to complete the setup. Can I manually add this?Have reset modem, router, amp, and everything i can think of. I have 2 ethernet jacks and have tried black first and white in the 2nd and vice versa. Black is just plugged into amp. White ethernet runs to router and plugged directly into it. Still will not find it. Ready to throw the entire thing out. Been working on this all day!!

As a staunch believer in the superiority SonosNet I was massively disappointed in the removal of SonosNet from the new devices. I found a keen work around Arc ultra users (even though I already sold mine). Get a sub gem 3 or older (Save a few bucks), and hardwire the sub to the arc ultra. This will use the Sonos subs connection to SonosNet. Make sure you don’t have any wifi network saved in your system. This could be used for the eras as well but you’d have to also buy an either net adapter (really Sonos?) amfthen use the sub connection or even a cheap used boost or port would work.

I use the external library feature to stream Atmos tracks to my Era 300 this works fine with eac3 (DD+) in an mp4 container. What I would really like to do as well is the stream TruHD ripped from my Blue-ray audio disks. This only works in an mkv container which Sonos does not support. Any chance of putting this a  future feature

I’m thinking of using a Rocketfish Bluetooth 5.0 transmitter to transmit audio from an older iPad to a pair of Sonos Era 100 speakers. The reason I’m doing this is that the iPad is using Bluetooth 4.x and Bluetooth 5.0 provides notably better sound. I could use AirPlay, but I have been having occasional issues with AirPlay even though the speakers are less than six feet from the router. (And don’t even get me started on my futile attempts to get these speakers from the 5 GHz to the 2.4 GHz band as some have recommended.) Advice on whether this setup is possible, or alternatives that would get me the most stable connection with the maximum quality sound, are welcome.

I recently experienced a total network failure of my Xfinity XB8 Modem. I have numerous wired and wireless SONOS devices connected that started dropping out and overall slow network performance.Xfinity replaced the XB8 modem, and the issues continued with SONOS. I then turned off all SONOS equipment and the network issues were resolved. I verified the configuration of the three TP-LINK Managed Ethernet switches and confirmed that everything was correct (RST Settings).I then turned on all of the computers, NAS and printers and the network remained stable. I then turned on each of the wired SONOS devices and the network was stable until I turned on the PORT and the PLAYBAR and the network became unstable and unusable. Each SONOS device is plugged into a TP-LINK managed switch.I then ran Wireshark and noticed an excessive number of “LINK LOCAL ADDRESS” broadcast coming from the XB8 Modem with the Source Address starting with fe80:: - ICMP V6. I have a Beam, Sub, 2 Play1's and a Port. For some reason, my mistake I presume, I ended up with 3 seperate rooms: the port in 1, Beam and Sub in 1 and the Play1's in 1. I was able to create a group containing all 3 rooms, but because of this setup no surrounds (stereo pair) in the room with the Beam and the Sub.I am able to break the stereo pair in the Play1 room, which enables me to add one Play1 to the Beam/Sub room creating a stereo pair with the Beam I think. This leaves me with a Play1 in a seperate room. I would prefer to add both Play1's to the Beam/Sub room as the stereo pair, but am unable to do so.Anybody, any advice?
