I manage my local music with Apple Music.  I then copy the entire music directory to a NAS so that the tracks are always available.  In the past, Sonos could harvest the playlists out of the .muscilibrary database but that recently stopped working.

Is this a know bug?  Is there a work around?  I’ve attempted to use .xml and/or .m3u playlists as a tactical solution but Sonos flat out ignores the .xml files and the .m3u files show up as playlists but the list itself is empty.

Thanks for any guidance.

As it turns out, nevermind.  I’m using a QNAP NAS.  I had backup “snap shots” turned on.  When Sonos updates the music library, it reads through all the back up snap shots as well.  Mostly it would just silently fail but sometimes it would report there was insufficient memory to update my library.  Which, now that I understand what was happening, is understandable.  Essentially, my music library was being multiplied by the number of snap shots.

All is well.  I have my playlists.  Sonos *does* seem to be reading the .musiclibrary file.
