Advanced setups

  Hi all, we are doing an extension on our home and remoddeling the ground floor, this gives me opportunity to orchestrate a decent Sonos set up.I have a few questions, mainly around the Amp.I am looking to use the Amp in the lounge, have this conneced to my vinyl player as well as 2x B&W bookshelf speakers. We are not big TV watchers, so not really letting that factor in the layout - but in the future i think even connecting the 2x Era 100s would suffice.1. Is there much benefit to having the 2x Era 100s in there as well as the B&W speakers? Is it overkill for that space?2. Can i use the Amp and vinyl player to have that music in the other rooms via the Era 300s as per the image. If so, can these speakers have the same music at different volumes?3. Would a single 5 in the playroom and a single 5 in the kitchen diner suffice? Is 3x300 overkill? 4. Can i still “zone” these speakers to all play seperate things. I.e Kitchen diner 300s playing Music A, the playroom 300 playing Musi

I have six amps and a port, each time I deselect an amp it will not stay deselected.  Why is this?  

App reinstalled because i could not get sound after attempting and failing to Trueplay and now i cannot get past the terms of use agreement . Allows me to select country but "accept" is still greyed out...any suggestions?

Can you provide a rollback please? My system has been rendered pretty much unusable now… not happy and a shame that it’s always the software that lets your epic hardware down…  

Hi, I have updated to the latest version and now the app I cannot contact to my network anymore. I managed 1 time after I disconnected/ connected from electric. Does anyone have the same problem? What can a solution be ? br/ Johan

We’re using the API to send playback commands to our Port, and I have noticed that the GROUP_ID is changing at random.My understanding is that the GROUP_ID is the parent which holds playback devices, unique like the HOUSEHOLD_ID.What could ever cause the GROUP_ID to change, and for what purpose, since this causes commands to obviously fail since the resource is no longer available.

Since I updated the SONOS app to the new version I started having the following problems with my system (consisting of two SONOS FIVE, two SONOS ONE, a SUB, a PLAYBASE, a PORT and a SONOS ONE SL):- Any attempt to play music goes through automatic room selection. Always the same!. The only option is to turn on the music in this room and then "move" it to the desired room.- The volume control has a delay of several seconds. Very annoying - All but one of the speakers (hardwired) are on SONOS NET but in the system settings they appear to be unconnected to wireless.I guess I will adapt to the new interface although it’s less intuitive than the old one.Has anybody in this community encountered the same issues?Can one downgrade to the previous version?

Hi all,this is a somewhat advanced setup I suspect. For using Sonos with a local music provider exposing the subsonic protocol, the Open Source project bonob provides an integration with Sonos (https://github.com/simojenki/bonob).Note the word “local” - this is happening on the local network entirely and works great with one minor exception.The “old” search is fine. However, https://docs.sonos.com/docs/add-search#all-search-category requires the media provider/content service to be exposed to the Internet (so that it is reachable from Sonos’s cloud). For a local service, that’s obviously a non-starter.(I’m a bit confused why a search has to be routed through Sonos’s servers in the first place (the client obviously already has access to the content providers, otherwise it couldn’t play the media?) and would be curious about the rationale; why does Sonos need to see all my searches? I have data privacy questions. But let’s not go there for now :) )More importantly, I wonder if the “old”

Hello Everyone,After a decade of learning from this forum, I'm excited to make my first post.  I’m seeking feedback on my planned strategy to upgrade my Sonos System. I have had trouble getting my Sonos system to work for the past few months, since installing an Eero WiFi system, and I wanted to share what I learned so that I help others avoid the headaches and hassle. The problem: After installing a network of Eero WiFi devices (three eero Pro devices and one eero Beacon extender), my Sonos system stopped working reliably (would not connect, drop devices, etc.). I tried restarting, reinstalling units, etc., etc., without success. The solution: Over the past two weeks, I have read a number of posts on this Sonos support site that helped me get the system working again today. Here is what I did and some comments on my system: Enabled "Bridge Mode" on our Xfinity Wireless Gateway device -- got instructions on how to do so on the Comcast website (need to log in from your internet browser and follow a few steps) Connected the eero Pro device that was indicated as the "gateway" (was the only device that my eero app showed as being the "gateway") w

This topic is discussed four months ago for new feature request. Not sure if any update now as I came across the same issue.Previously, I used to apple tv system with 4-6 homepod mini speakers in multiple locations,  i could volume up/down all speakers by one tv/chromecast/apple tv remote at the same time.After upgrade to Sonos system, the tv/ chromecast remote now can only control soundbar & surround speakers but not the others, it’s quite inconvenient that i need to open apps everytime to adjust volume if i go to somewhere for while and again after i return.Hopefully, Sonos can upgrade the system like Apple TV to let user control all speakers by one remote.   

Hi everyone, I am renovating my retirement home and hope to get a simple to use, fuss-free all in one system to watch TV, movies, listen to music. Currently, using Roon+Qobuz+QQmusic. May use Apple Music.The overall design was made based on the idea of using a full set of SONOS system to pair with a 75” TV, compromising of the following:Sonos Arc Sonos Sub G3 x 1 Sonos Era 300 (pair)Have 2 considerations in placing the era300 (position 1 in orange on two ends of the side boards and position 2 in pink at the rear of the sofa set). Illustration of layout as shown below. May place a turntable behind the sofa set on the side table to link to the Sonos system wirelessly.I am inclining more towards placing the Era300 at position 1 as i hope it will cover the dining area when listening to music. Hi therewe have recently moved house and the new house has a Sonos connect, third party amp, 4 internal speakers, and 2 external speakers.. all hard wired to the amp.we have been kicked out of the login and have set it up new but now not all speakers are working, even though we haven’t touched anything apart from the buttons on the Sonos connect (so no cable issues). Previously the internal speakers were “one group” and external speakers were “one group”. I’ve googled so much and just cannot figure out how to fix this. can anyone provide some advice, please?  thanksLisa

I have been scouring the Internet for a solution. I upgraded from an older Orbi mesh network to the Orbi 960 quad band.  The upgrade definitely was an improvement to my home’s Wi-Fi.  It felt like a downgrade for my Sonos set up.  I have two sound zones set up for whether I am in the pool or on the patio and whether I am watching the projector or the television.  For when in the pool, I have two amps for front and rear speakers.  I also have two roams near the rear speakers so I can give Alexa commands and so I can enjoy television late at night without disturbing the neighbors. I initially had two Orbi satellites and then added a third satellite outside to try to fix the issue with my speakers not grouping.  Having read that strong Wi-Fi was better than SonosNet, I refused to think of wiring a speaker as an option. I was wrong. I wired an old Sonos one to my Orbi 960 router, which is in AP mode. Problem solved. My speakers group incredibly quickly, and I can once again listen to TV or

I’m adding 2 x Era + Sub Mini to my Sonos setup. Want to connect my Audio-Technica turntable to the stereo-paired Era 100s. I already have a Sonos Port. Should I connect my turntable to the Port or one of the Era 100? i have a restaurant - here’s my set up:Six Samsung TVsSix Beam G2Comcast business modem/wifi one guest wifione private wifiSonos 2 app on ipad that has current OS and connected to private wifiNeed to use the sonos app for background music when the tv sound isn’t on, but the picture is - like on a soccer gamei have had no issue setting up the beams set up on wifi private on the first try, naming them, connecting back to tvs, grouping them.  however, going back onto the app - once it’s been closed  or ipad has gone to sleep, some or all cannot be found, the spotify app from sonos doesn’t see any or all etc. i have tried factory resetting all of them then connect the first one to ethernet in order to use sonosnet, except the sonos setup app won’t connect to set up that way. I have reset them all multiple times and they all get connected but don’t stay connected. So it must be my comcast modem with wifi built into it right? calling comcast didn’t help as they said they don’t help with this

I have an owner occupied Air BnB. I have 6 zones w amps.  I’m trying to restrict  the guest from using two of my zones. does anyone try to configure this out before? thanks buim

I have Frontier Fiber internet w/Youtube TV being installed next week. I currently have my Boost wired to my TP Link router which is connected to a very old router/modem. Once they change out the router to the new Eeros router I will connect my Boost to the new Eeros router or do I connect my TP Link router to Eeros so that I can connect my Boost to the TP Link router? Thus creating Sonosnet for the rest of my Sonos speakers. I’m hoping for a smooth transition to Frontiers new Fiber internet for my Sonos system. 

I’m working on a large system for a customer. 95% of the system is all in one large space. We have a mix of subs, Play:5, Fives, Era 300s, and and Arc. Everything that has a network jack is plugged into the network. The network itself is Comcast>Sophos>10 gig Netgear core>Unifi Switch > access points and remote switches. By remote switches I mean several 8-12 port switches throughout that are connected back to the Unifi switch. We are experiencing latency in using the app to pair zones, change music, navigate etc. Also, our players are randomly dropping offline. Here is the network map. Normally I only deal with Ports as sources so this one is a bit out of my usual expertise.  

New to Sonos after buying the Arc.  I read the instructions on speech enhancement, where it’s required to choose “Now Playing” when engaging in the app.  But do you have to set speech enhancement on individual channels, or does the setting remain the default for all channels or streaming services after selecting it? 

HIMesh Networks do work with Sonos as long as you choose components designed to work as a Mesh. Let me explain….The PRIMARY function of a Mesh network is to extend the coverage of your Wi-Fi across your home wherein a single router fails to do so. A Mesh network properly configured should consist of a Primary Router (Main Node) connected to your ISP modem. If the ISP modem is a combo router/modem then it should be set to Bridge mode.The device or devices used to extend the network are called Satellites (Secondary Nodes). The nodes used to extend the network should be of the same brand/model designed to work as such for the best performance. The secondary nodes can be full blown routers themselves; but when used as secondary nodes cease to function in the same manner as the Main node. Devices of a different brand/model can be used as secondary nodes as long as they are certified for compatibility to be used as such with the brand of your Primary router/Main node. I have a fairly extensive Sonos system throughout the house. I am thinking about upgrading to Frontiers Fiber Optics which uses Eero wifi. I have no clue what Eero is and how it works. My main concern is does Eero work with Sonos? How does it work with Sonos products? How many Eero Mesh do I need throughout the house? I’ve read here there have been/is issues with connecting Sonos with Eero mesh wifi.
