Is is possible (if so, how) to use my gen 1 Play 5 on Sonos 2 thru Sonos Connect (not amp), just as one would use a regular speaker?

Hi Just bought a Sonos One last week to replace the old Bose SoundLink Air.I can airplay the music to Sonos One from Mac & iPhone, however, Apple TV (3rd generation, A1469, 2014) can only airplay to the old Bose, rather than to Sonos One.The Apple TV  recognize the Sonos One,  I can pick as airplay device. But when I play the Netflix (or whatever media), it will pause then sounds and switch back to Apple TV. Can someone help to diagnose the root cause and advise the solutions?

Hey Guys,I am trying to figure out if I want to keep my sonos play 5 (gen 2) or keep my Klipsch III. I am lookin for the best audio quality I can get. And currently I am using usb audio with my klipsch verses wifi with sonos. I keep reading that because of the s2 app sonos can now handle 24 bit. I have deezer, quboz, and tidal. But I also keep reading that it has to be through a local music library. I don't know what that is. Can I stream 24 bit through the deezer/quboz/ tidal control centers in the s2 app or do I have to set up a local music library?

Just had forced upgrade to Sonos 2 Controller. New AMP with Architectural Sonance In-Wall speakers and Numark turntable with built-in pre-amp (TT USB model) I can get Spotify to produce sound through Amp and speakers. When using turntable, I get silence. Yes, the turntable is set to Line-In.  I am using RCA cables to connect from turntable to Amp. Turntable has successfully worked when connected to other devices. 

HiOn all of my Sonos speakers, Moves &one’s.When asking Alexa To play an audible book, she begins to play, but if I ask her to be rewind one minute or any other amount of time she says “Nothing is currently playing “I have tried the same commands on a Amazon echo and it works fine.I have tried the same commands on a Amazon echo and it works fine.this used to work fine a couple of weeks ago I was only recently in the last 3 to 4 weeks stopped This used to work fine and then It suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago.In the Sonos app I have unauthorised and re-authorised my audible account and this has made no change, I have also rebooted all of my speakers and this has made no change.if I ask Alexa to play music from either Amazon or Apple it works fine and will also fast forward or rewind the time asked. Please help!  

I have an 11 month old, Samsung 82” QLED Q70R. I recently purchased the new Sonos Arc and I can not get Dolby Atmos to work.  TV Setup - I have the Arc connected to the TV via the HDMI 4 (ARC) using the HDMI cable Sonos provided with the speaker. (It’s not and eARC port, but according to Samsungs website it supports Dolby Digital+ and Atmos. In the TV’s “expert” sound settings, I have the Dolby Atomos Compatibility box checked, and when I connected the Sonos Arc it said “Atmos enabled device detected.” Yet when I go to the Digital Output Audio For… setting, it only allows me to select Dolby Digital.  I am currently using an Xbox 1s and Apple TV 4K for streaming, Netflix, HBOMAX, HULU, Disney+, etc. When I go to the XBOX settings, I have HDMI Audio set to Bitsream Out. However, when I go to the Bitstream format setting, whenever I select Dolby Atmos for home theater or DTS:X for home theater, I get a message that says: “Your receiver doesn’t support Dolby Atmos for home theater” Sonos p

I have a speaker system that includes the Arc, Sub (Gen 3) and two Sonos One SLs.When I am watching television, it randomly turns itself down.I am not touching the remote or the app, and there is nothing/nobody else in my house that would be turning it down. Frustrating.Anyone have any ideas on how to make this stop?

Hello,Does anyone have any insight on the possibility of connecting 2 Sonos connect to 1 receiver?  I want to be able to control the volume in different areas while steaming the same music.   Just trying to save some $$$.   I realize the alternative is to buy the new Sonos amp or another receiver but trying to make use of the connects I have.   Thank you for your time.

I just bought two Sonos One (Gen 2) speakers. The power cord doesn’t fit the speaker plug on either one. I am reluctant to push harder unless I know that this is expected. I’ve pushed quite hard; the plugs have become stuck without connecting, how much harder is normal? Obviously, setup is halted. Thakns

I currently have 4 Sonos connects (2 connects, 2 connect amps), running S1 software as they are older.  Found a used Connect amp that I would buy for another room, but it seems to be running S2 software. Can I downgrade it to S1? Basically want to control all units using the S1 app sort of thing.  But can’t seem to figure out if that’s doable, I know I can’t do the opposite.

Morning all. Hoping I can get some direction on this one please. Got lots of Sonos, all S2 and all amplified to decent in-ceiling speakers. Works a treat, always has.But I’m adding a new room. Essentially a home cinema room with the normal speakers, SW, large TV, AVR etc. I’ve plugged in a new Port via RCA to the SAT I/P.It works but sounds a bit meh.I’m not trying get any cinema type functionality, just good sound, stereo, surround, anything really.Is there a rule of thumb or best practice for settings an AVR to get a decent sound out? It just doesn’t sound great.The AVR itself is old but a solid performer …. A Pioneer VSA-AX10Ai feeding B&W Matrix fronts & rears and a B&W ASW800 sub.

Hi everyone.I have recently started to replace my old Denon amp and floor standing speakers with Sonos. Bought 2 Sonos Fives and configured them as stereo pair and it has been working well, better than the floor standing speakers. My intention is to retire these speakers and only use Fives. Next I wanted to connect my Sony tv to Sonos and also use existing non Sonos sub (Ken Kreisel) so I bought Sonos Amp to connect the sub and TV through HDMI. However I realised during the set up that I can’t add Sonos speakers as front stereo. I understand Amp is supposed to help with the traditional speaker set up but it wasn’t obvious anywhere I won’t be able to add the Fives as a front pair or even to the same room. The latter could have solved some part of the issue I am facing.  As a workaround I have done the following: TV is connected to Amp through HDMI. Amp is configured to connect to floor standing speakers but I have left them disconnected. TV headphone out is connected to line in of the F

I have a sony smart tv a sonos beam 2 Sonos one 2 sonos one sl. Setup hdmi arc on beam 2 sone one sl as sorround and the 2 sonos one as stereo pair. Now when i grup them to sound all together on tv it sound with echos and every time i turn on the tv and put it on group also use apple tv and both the sony tv and apple tv remotes don’t setup as it supposed to be when i go to the settings and press vol up it dont find it. Main concern is the beam and the sl aourround grouped with the ones as stereo pair makes echo like 10 tvs are playing the same sound and the issue of having to turn on the group ever time i turn on the tv and the volume of the beam and the stereo pair are not even when up or down one is higher 

I have two separate houses with Sonos.  Primary residence is running S2 with a bunch of Play:Ones.  House we share with extended family is running S1 with a gen one Connect, a ZP-90, and a fairly recently added single Play:One.  I'm thinking I might get more good out of this Play:One at my primary house for now.  So, I'm looking to transfer from one system to another but not off my account.Do a factory reset of this Play:One and add it to my S2 system at home?  Thanks, all.

Until recently, I had a Playbase connected to my LG smart TV with an optical audio cord. Also connected were my Sub woofer and 2 Ones giving me surround sound for the TV that seemed to work very well. Inmy living room I also had an older Marantz receiver, 2 decent wired speakers, a CD player and a Turntable giving me a reasonable stereo system.In my infinate wisdom, I purchased an Amp which was to replace the receiver. My hope was to connect everything together so that I could have my TV with surround sound or switch to my CD or Turntable or the Sonos app for stereo. I purchased Y RCA plugs so I could connect both the CD player and the Turntable to the AMP. Obviously only one at a time but I hoped to save pulling and inserting plugs all the time.  The TV is now hooked up to both the playbase (optical cord) and the AMP (ARC  HDMI). Nothing is working as it should and I’d like to start over. I’m also contemplating moving the Playbase to the Bedroom TV and using the wired speakers with th

I've read a lot about the S2 upgrade. I have old products and while I don't love the whole S1 , S2 compatibility issues with the hardware I'm here because of the oft repeated statement “ you can continue to use the S1 controller same as you always have”. This however doesn't seem to be the case. It seems that I can no longer use the Sticher podcast service unless I updrade to the S2 controller. Am I missing something here or are the poor S1 holdouts going to be squeezed out one service at a time? Jason

Hi, Sonos has suddenly started skipping all my tidal playlists tracks after more than a year and a half of working perfectly. I don’t believe anything in my system or Tidal has knowingly been changed. I don’t have any other instances of Tidal playing in the household. I have good download speed of circa 30Mb/s. Strangely if I open Tidal direct on my device I can play the same playlist perfectly to Sonos, I just can’t get Tidal to play from Sonos. Other music services play and I can play radio stations. My wife has the Sonos app on her phone and has the same issue. She doesn’t use the Tidal app. Any ideas? Thank you.

Does anyone know if their is a difference between the Sonance SR2-125 amp and the Sonos Amp?  I have the Sonance Mag 4.1 patio series speaker system and can see that they are sold with either the Sonos Amp or the Sonance SR2-125.  Can someone explain to me what the difference is?

Can anyone please help.I am waiting for my Sonos arc which is back ordered, if I were to play videos via Apple Music app on smart tv through Earc(arc) would I be able to stream the same music coming through the arc across the whole of my Sonos speakers 

one of my Sonos speakers is not showing up when viewing “Select a Device” within Spotify from my phone, my wife’s phone, my desktop PC, and my macbook laptop.I’m unable to play directly to that speaker, but i can play to another speaker and group the rooms.I can also play directly to that speaker without issue from directly within Sonos. diag # 288346758

HiI've had to reset my ARC and I use my 2 SL1’s for surrounds. I have a feeling it used to say ARC + Surround …. ? any help would be appreciated 👍
