I own a sonos beam and gen 3 sub. I also have a turntable and receiver hooked up to listen to albums with headphones. I want to play albums to speakers, too. I see two options: A sonos port to play on my existing sonos speakers, or add a Play5. If I added a play 5, can I pair my sub with both my beam and a play 5? Is the Play5 stereo? Which is the better option: the port or the Play5. The difference in cost seems négligeable and another speaker seems like clutter when I have a great speaker system already.

This is honestly occurring to me so often that I’m kind of put off by the sonos “all things wireless” system.I have two Sonos Surrounds and 1 Sonos Beam, all wireless.Every so often the system loses the surrounds and they either show in the app as +?+? as surrounds and no sound playing or are showing as if everything is good but no sound playing.Today they just refuse to connect no matter how many times I reset the system. Things I tried:Rebooted the Beam and both surrounds Reboot the router Turned off the router, turned off all sonos, turned on the router, waited 5 minutes, turned on the sonos products. Removed the surrounds from the app, factory reset the surrounds, reconnected them to the network. I moved the 2.4Ghz Channel from 6 to 11.Now the surrounds don’t even show up in the app. Also during the setup, it was taking a long time and it was saying at the end that they are connected but they might not show up in the app and I need to restart the surrounds. Hi,Any advice would be appreciated.  I am currently having an extension which will have 3 separate areas but all open plan. A Family/dining room, Kitchen & then seating area. About 40 square meters in total.  My plan was to have 1 speaker in the family room, 2 in the kitchen as very high ceiling and 1 in the seating area all hooked up to one amp. Would I be able to create 3 separate zones so I can turn off speakers? For example I was hoping to be able to turn off the family room if the kids are in bed and we’re in the kitchen and seating area.Thanks in advance,Sid  

Can I use a beam (connected to a TV), with an Amp powering surrounds and a third party sub off the amp?

I have Media source: Apple TV (3rd Gen) Video Player: Optomo UHD52ALV Projector connected through HDMI from Apple TVAudio: Sonos Playbar (set up as surround sound with sub + 2 Sonos One) and Connected through Optical cable from Apple TV  When I play Netflix on Apple TV and choose audio English [Original] (5.1) or Amazon Prime to choose a movie with “Dolby Digital Plus” The Sonos app shows the Audio IN as “Stereo PCM 2.0” in both cases.Checked Sonos App for System Update and shows “Your Sonos system is up to date”.Bought this audio splitter https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07JDGBBXF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and cant get the 5.1.Is this even possible? 

Hello. I’m an extreme end user and cannot find my specific answer here. Thanks for your help! I just got a Sonos Boost in hopes to solve my issue of dropping speakers. While listening to music using a couple of my Sonos devices, atleast one speaker drops out and returns every time. It happens over and over again. I have an Orbi with 2 satellites and each Sonos device would go to whichever satellite it liked even when it wasn’t the best connection. So the Boost was hopefully fixing that.I connected the Boost to my Orbi router (main device) and after a few minutes, all Sonos devices automatically connected to the Orbi router (main device) and not a satellite. All showed as a wired connection to the main unit which I assume is because they are going through the Boost which is in fact wired. Unfortunately, after 30 minutes or so, the speakers started to drop out again. I am installing a new home and will have the sonos amps in recessed low voltage boxes behind the TVs. In one particular box there will be a samsung one connect box, apple TV, and sonos amp. Is there any threat of the sonos amp overheating? The amp gets fairly warm in a rack, just concerned about it being with other items that get warm, especially in an enclosed space with no air movement.

Can 4 sonos one’s be used in a surround setup with an Arc soundbar?

Battery life is below expectation.  I have a JBL Charge that I bought for $99 six years ago which outlast the Roam hands down.  Very disappointed in the Roam product.

Hi there,For months I have been trying unsuccessfully to stop our Sonos Five from renaming itself. It keeps reverting to an old naming convention. We have a Google Nest Hub Max as well. I have tried troubleshooting many times with both Sonos and Google Support which has included factory resetting both the Google Hub and Sonos Five speaker and uninstalling/reinstalling the Google Home and Sonos apps but the problem recurs, usually the following day. Any ideas what might be causing this or how to resolve?Thanks!

2 Move speakers will connect via WiFi to an iPhone but cannot raise volume very much.  I turn it up but it turns itself down.  This just started happening.  Recharged them overnight but problem continues. 

Need help have a sonos roam and a first generation sub. The S2 application picks up both speakers but I can't make them part of the same room. Be great to have the roam and sub working together any advice welcomed.

Hello.  I've recently purchased a new Sonos Arc, TV and DVD players.   The TV is an LG OLED65CX5LB 65" 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV and the DVD player is a Sony UBPX500B 4K Bluray Player.  I understand both are able to play Dolby Atmos.  I'm using Sky Q for my main TV system and have set it to Ultra HD and Dolby Digital Plus.I have set up the Arc to the TV using the correct HDMI ARC port and the DVD player and Sky Q to the TV using other HDMI ports.  I've tired to watch a Sky Q Ultra HD film (it says Dolby Atmos available in the Sky Cinema section) and Ive also watched an Ultra HD DVD (with Dolby Atmos) on the DVD player.  Neither are showing Dolby Atmos on the Sonos App and it says its receiving Stereo PCM when I check it.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks.

I ordered an Amp to replace a ZP80 device and received the Upgrade credit when doing so.When I received the Amp, I realised that I should have acquired a Port device so I returned the Amp to Sonos. I would now like to order a Port device.My question is how do I get the Upgrade credit reapplied to the replacementPort device?Thanks for your help.regardsDon 

I'm experiencing audio skips (2-5 second drop-outs) using line in through my Five. It seems to be worse when multiple rooms are playing. I've read through quite a bit of threads here and have some ideas of what the issue could be. I can post a diagnostic later, but I won't be able to do that until tomorrow. Until then, I'd just like to get an idea of what the most likely culprits are given my situation.My setup:Room 1: 1x Five (downstairs)Room 2: 2x Ones in stereo with Sub linked (downstairs)Room 3: 1x One (upstairs)Room 4: 1x One (upstairs)Router is a reliable $250 Nighthawk and I have reliable gigabit internet. I had removed the service previously but after the 12.2 update I cannot remove it. In the iOS app, no way to remove my account, only an option to reauthorize it.   The desktop app allows one to remove services, including Sonos Radio, but as soon as I remove Sonos Radio, I get prompted asking if I am sure I want to remove it, it OK, and its removed for 1 second, and then comes right back. I don’t want Sonos Radio (never wanted it TBH) but it came in an update with no way to remove unless you enabled it first, and now it seems you can no longer remove it either!  I already sub to a commercial free music service, I have no need for 2nd.  The extra icon is annoying and confusing to users.

Hi guys,sorry if this question has been asked before but I am wanting to playing my vinyl through my existing set up (multiple One’s, Move and a Beam) but I have a DJ setup i.e. I’m using a mixer. I understand that there is a delay so the port/amp is not great for DJing but is there a way of when I’m playing to use my powered speakers (not necessarily linked to the other speakers) and then when I want to just play a record to send it to the multi rooms? Would the port be my best option? As I have powered speakers.thanks in advance for your help and hope this makes sense!! 

Hi there, first time poster. I tried to find this question on the forum but couldn't find an answer. I have a Sonos One in my bedroom, I'd like my audio to play in the bathroom too with the Sonos Move being the safest speaker to leave in the bathroom. Is this possible? Can I broadcast my audio to both my Sonos One in the bedroom and Sonos Move in the bathroom? Thank you in advance!  

My Sonos Move stops playing after each chapter of my Audible books. Any suggestions?

I am planing to make 5.1 Surround setup products mention in the description below. My only concern is does this setup required WIFI connectivity ?? Hi, I’m looking into a soundbar to mount underneath a 65” LG CX OLED on a MantleMount in the location attached.  The room is wide open as pictured into the open floor plan kitchen behind it.  Would the Arc be sufficient in this setup or would the Atmos/surround capabilities be severely diminished?  Are the side walls too far away too?  Looking for the experts input here and what I should do in this situation.  Thanks so much.TV to be mounted over fireplace with a MantleMountKitchen area on the other side, open floor plan. 

Podcasts on neither of these services work iheartradio no matter what podcast i select.  get the connection to iheartradio was lost. but it NEVER connected. Spotify no podcasts show up at all the podcasts i want to listen to are in my library in spotify In SONOS there is no Podcasts option .. only playlists, songs and albums Whats up with these problems.  No Apple podcasts i can understand, but for two of the major podcast delivery services NOT to work???????  REALLY? diags 502436827

I see there are a lot of questions about projectors here but none are quite what I’m looking for..  so sorry to ask another one…  I would like to get a sonos setup for a projector with Roku.  The projector has R-L audio output but no wireless features. I am thinking I could hook that up to a Sonos Port and use that to get sound to speakers across the room wirelessly. I would probably get a Beam to go with the Port.  Would this work? Any help is appreciated!

HelloMy Sonos Play 5 device is already registered and shows up properly on the Sonos 2 App (iOS).I recently picked up the Sonos Roam and had all sorts of issues with connecting to it via the App.  The NFC wasn’t working and it kept on getting stuck during adding it.I finally did get the Sonos (iOS) app to connect and add Roam to my account.  However after Roam got added, now my Sonos 2 app doesn’t see the Play5 device.My ipad can still control the Play5 device on the sonos app but can’t find the Roam device. 

TLDR; Sonos Arc throws “Arc not detected” when attempting to set up TV link in sonos app.Equipment: Roku Ultra, Epson 5050UBE w/ wireless hdmi, and Sonos Arc (along with Sub/OneSLs). Set Up (attached diagram):Roku Ultra HDMI out -> Epson Wireless Transmitter HDMI IN (then transmitted to Epson 5050 projector) This works. Epson Wireless Transmitter HDMI OUT → Sonos Arc Soundbar.Issue: Sonos Arc throws “Arc not detected” when attempting to set up TV link in sonos app. Ask: How do I get a valid signal to the ARC sound bar? The current set up is in sequence, I’ve order an HDMI splitter to try in parallel but I doubt thats going to fix the problem?Most other issues I’ve found are around the sound quality reaching the sound bar so apologies if I’ve missed something already out there ! Really appreciate any crowdsourced suggestions and thanks for your time.
