I am doing a renovation with walls and ceilings open and think I want to go down route of Sonance in ceiling speakers throughout the home and the one area I am confused about is my living room / home theater set up. Previously I had floor standing speakers, center speaker over fire place and two rears behind  / the the side of my couch which is pushed against a wall all connected to a Denon Receiver.  My preference is to eliminate the floorstanding, center + rears and go with in ceiling speakers connected to Sonos Amps since it is really the main living area that happens to have large couch + TV vs dedicated home theater set up.   If I go with the Sonos Amp to power in ceiling speakers throughout my home, can the in ceiling speakers pull double duty to connect to my receiver when I want to watch movies.  Am I just supposed to scrap my Receiver and use the Amps instead   If so how do i set it up?  I see the user guide for amps suggests 3 speakers near front of TV (L C R) and then two re

Hi All,I’m new to SONOS. Planning to purchase 1 pair of SONOS ONE/SL for complete home theater system. This will be integrated with Arc + Sub Gen3.My concern regard to ONE/SL placement since I were not allowed to have wiring or cables dwells on my living floor and that makes thing complicated.Currently undergoing full wiring work at my home, so would like to use this opportunity to place sonos one/sl plug point against the wall however it will be at the edge of ceiling at my rear seat. The length of my living will be 18 feet long. and width is about 14 feet long. This are the planned setup, my only option is to set ONE/SL at the edge of wall ceiling. This will be the beam of my staircase hence no space to lower the ONE/SL at the wall site. It must at the edge. The ARC placement will be about 2 feet from wall since this comes with 75” TV and TV cabinet placement. Also the distance to seat is another 10.5 feet due to the TV size.Is this design do-able, also that i tilt the sonos one/SL horiz

We have a couple stero pair of sonos One speakers in the lounge which we use just for the radio mainly and occasional streaming from Amazon Music. I have been thinking of sorting out a hi fi set up for another room just for vinyl and CD mainly. I like the Sonos sound and was possibly thinking of buying a Rega turntable, Rotel CD player  and Sonos 5 speaker, unsure if i would need one or two speakers as yet. I notice there is only one input on the speaker, how would i connect both Rega and Rotel to it. Any help appreciated, or any other alternatives, or would i be better just buying a hi fi amp, cd player and speakers.

I’m on the verge of forking out some cash for premium wired over-ears. Currently driving a pair of Wharfedale EVO 4.1 with my Sonos Amp and wondering how to use the Amp as source for my headphones to play. I understand the Amp does not have a headphone jack? Do I need to buy a headphone amplifier the will connect to the Amp and then send signal to the headphones? If the above is possible, and I connect the headphone amp to the Sonos Amp and then to the headphones, should I stream or play anything through the Amp, won’t the sound playback go to both the Wharfedale speakers AND the headphones? How could I have speakers AND headphones connected to Amp and decide which will be playing?Thank you all.

Hello All — I have researched and read all of the material on Sonos + Pioneer Elite. I have a minor twist on what appears to be a common prob and could use some expertise. I’m trusting this is a no judging zone. :)My Pioneer plasma is a PRO-150FD, older than dirt but beautiful. I use a Roku stick on HDMI and until recently a Playbar connected via optical cable. I moved the entire setup to a new room and cannot get optical connected with the original or a new optical cable. I have tested the speaker in other rooms and it works with different setups. Could the optical cable port have gone bad?  Is it worthwhile to try a port switcher with digital audio outputs?I’m hoping the answer to the last question is yes, and if so, can you help me with the setup?  While a simple setup, this doesn’t come easily to me. I have spent hours on the phone with sonos and they determined that the plasma is not receiving the optical audio signal. I’m looking for a way to save the TV AND the playbar  I would

I am profoundly disappointed that my Play 5 is no longer any use - a paper weight as others have now termed.I write to see if SONOS have come up with an answer yet.  This is a very expensive paper weight, and is now not fit for purpose, nor is there anywhere that states it would be subject to be upgraded so it becomes inoperative.  Is there any fix for this please?

Sonos Speaker works fine when at the main office, if Sonos Speaker is on a satellite office, speaker won't connect to controller or vice versa. Same SSID

Hi. I have 15 Sonos speakers connected in various configurations across several rooms. Two of the speakers are first generation Play 5’s controlled via the S1 app. The rest are controlled via the S2 app.  Both systems are rock solid and perform flawlessly independent of each other.  I have purchased a Sonos Roam and have attempted to connect the speaker to my system using the S2 app. The system appeared to get confused during set up stating the new roam required an update.  During this update the speaker disappeared from the S2 app.  For some reason it is now only visible on the S1 app. I’m fully aware its not compatible with the S1 app. I am now unable to remove it from the S1 app. I have reset the app and wi fi router without success.  Should i delete the S1 app, reset the roam and attempt to connect to the S2 app and If successful then reinstall the S1 system? Thanks.

What the title says. when i say ok google this is the response. I can't reach the internet right now check your modem and router connections and try again. Setup:65” TCLLatest 4K AppleTVSonos Arc connected via ARC portIssue:Sometimes I’ll be watching a program and I’ll want the audio to extend over AirPlay to various HomePods in my home. When I do this from the AppleTV, the audio is not in sync between the ARC and the HomePod(s). When I attempt to run the AirPlay audio sync tool on the AppleTV, it throws the lip synchronization off significantly.Has anyone else possibly run into this? Thank you

Hi,I am looking for advice how to play my firestick from my projector and play the sound out of my beam? Attached picture of Epson acer projector and bi directional switch I bought. Thanks Bren

Hi ExpertsI'm new to Sonos world. First bought pair of One SL around 4 months back and now added Sub (Gen 3). However the Sub is sounding very underwhelming, hardly any difference than what I got with only pair of One SL. I tried with different genre of music and also tried increasing the Sub level to +8 but the change is minimal.  I need your suggestions to diagnose and fix the issue. Thanks in advanceKoustav

My Sonos one speaker does hear me say “Hey Google” (because it makes a beep sound when it does) but won’t respond with it’s voice and doesn’t do what I’ve asked it to do. It’s just complete silence after the beep. I’ve added the assistant through the Sonos app and added the speaker (and some HUE lights) to my Google home afterwards. When I say “Hey Google” whilst I have the Google assistant app open, I can make it play music through Spotify or turn on/off my lights. If the app is closed like it normally would be if you call for the Google assistant, it doesn’t respond. I don’t think this is how the Sonos speaker’s assistant should behave, right? Is there a fix? I’d like to use my Sonos speaker to turn on some music when I have my iPhone in my pocket.

On my PC i have a folder for all my music. iTunes uses that basic directory, some tracks are in their own sub directory, and some are listed as normal files with the main Music directory.Whatever the previous version of the Sonos S1 software (SW), I updated to the latest v 11.2.12.Playing music using my iphone Sonos app and PC S1 app works fine. However, upon downloaded the latest the PC S1 SW, the cover art is messed up.Almost all the tracks, which had their own cover art, have been replaced by a SINGLE cover art image.I have no idea why.The songs and cover art all in the same Music folder (I don’t manage the cover art, whatever comes with iTunes is what I have). Nothing has changed for years actually. The music folder and my PC w/the S1 SW are on the same computer. So I have no idea what the hell happened. Any suggestions- it’s annoying as hell.

HelloI was checking SONOS S2 app options on how to add Sub to One SL pair already setup in my room. I found following link  https://support.sonos.com/s/article/4805?language=en_USI’m not getting option as mentioned in step#4 of above link.Any idea what may be the reason? I’m yet to purchase SONOS Sub, but doing research on adding Sub to pair of One SL .--------------------------------------------Add a SubOpen the Sonos app for iOS or Android. From the  Settings tab, tap System. Under Products, tap the room you would like to add your Sub to. Tap Add Sub. Follow the prompts to add the Sub to your Sonos system. ------------------------------------------------Thanks Koustav Biswas

I have files and folders with Korean in the names. When I add the music library and re-index, it only finds songs with English names only. Is there any way that Sonos music library indexes foreign language support (e.g. UTF-8) Or, I have Synology NAS with built in media server. I read that DLNA is not officially supported by Sonos but if there is anyone who uses DLNA to play music from NAS library?

The previous responses were over a year ago.  Any chance this feature has been added

My SONOS ARC won’t switch back to TV after playing music via Spotify. Given the amount of other people experiencing this problem it looks like a bug in one of your recent software release. Could you test the relevant Use Cases in your test lab and let me know the fix please. The ARC is currently not useable for primary task and I don’t won’t to have to return it to John Lewis as unusable, for what is probably a small software fix. Thank you.

I have a Sonos Playbar with 2 Sonos Ones for surround sound. I recently bought a new “Siri Remote” made by Apple, which includes a mute button. I have successfully paired the new Apple TV “Siri Remote” to control the volume on my Sonos (up/down), but the Sonos fails to recognize the mute command. The previous thread on this subject was inconclusive and unhelpful, and Sonos bizarrely closed the thread without any answer or resolution… How can I make my Sonos Playbar recognize the mute command from my Apple TV remote?

I love Sonos products. The sound quality is great. However, I’m having some major problems with the Alexa compatibility. What I want to do is the absolute most basic of tasks for an audio speaker. I want to control the VOLUME, up or down, of all my Sonos One speakers jointly using the integrated Alexa voice assistant. I do not want to make 5 separate volume commands to change the speakers’ volume one by one. Now, I realize this was not possible 2 years ago, according to all the forum posts I’ve seen, but since almost 730 days have gone by since this issue was originally brought to your attention, Sonos, I’m checking in today to see if anyone has found a solution or if Sonos has written the 2 or 3 lines of measly code it would take to allow this simple and basic functionality. Is anyone there and willing to provide support for a customer who has spent in excess of $1,500 to bring your branded products to our entire home?Thank you, Ryan

Hi.  I am looking to fix something going on with my setup.I have a PC attached to a TV attached to the Sonos. When I click on Living Room and group everything else (Some One’s and a 5 in individual groups)They will all group together and everything works great. The problem is when I, say, pause a video or stop playing audio on the Sonos.  I’m not sure how long but after a while the grouping will stop.   When this happens what it looks like in the Sonos app is instead of everything in one group with dark shading on it what you see is Living Room with no dark shading over it and then everything else grouped with the dark shading.  I have to click on Living Room and group again to get it back to working. How can I fix this? Thanks!

I have tried many ways but it won't work :( it is very annoying as I have 2 Sonos One and 1 beam. I have to change the sound manually with Sonos App.Thank you for your help guys !

Having trouble uploading Apple Music to sonos

I have a Sonos one an Apple Music connection. When I ask Alexa to play a song or to play an artist she says “I cant find songs by artist or the name of the song” on Apple Music. I also have an echo input and with exactly the same question it can play the item requested.  The Sonos One does seem to be able to find and play my Apple Music playlists.  I spent about an hour chat session with a very helpful Sonos Representative who had me disable Apple Music and reenable it and Sonos as well but no success. Has anyone struck a similar problem and managed to resolve it. if I ask the echo to play a song on my Sonos one that works
