Installers replaced my sound bar with a Sonos surround sound. Before the Sonos install I was controlling volume with Directv and now it's Sonos Beam even though I am using the Directv remote. I prefer the Directv control remote...it's more responsive. Any suggestions?

I am really tired of this issue where the Sonos app for Mac attempts to update itself but fails with an error. Question on this topic keep getting closed but the company is not actually solving the issue! The solution is to go the web site and manually download the latest version of the app. Fine, but then don’t waste my time with this fake self-updating that doesn’t actually work; just take me to the web site to start with.

Hello,My system is composed of 3 Sonos One SL.One keeps disappearing from app.My internet service provider is Bell Canada.They provide the Wifi Modem, and I absolutely need their pods.These work on 2.4 ghz (like Sonos).Sounds like they’re incompatible with Sonos, unless there’s a workaround…Thanks

Hi, I had an existing setup of Sonos One and Sonos 5 Gen2 that worked fine prior to buying a Roam & Roam SL (paired in stereo). The Roams are connected to my router (Fritzbox 7530) on 5Ghz band and the older speakers on 2.4Ghz band. The ssid for the two bands is the same. Google assistant fails on the Roam (setup fine on the Sonos One) and when I turn on the Roams, the One and 5 disappear from the Sonos app. Spotify can still see all speakers in this instance though.Are these known issues?Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have a Sonos Play 5 and a Sonos Five.  After a change of residence I have a problem with the existing router.  It is a gated community with a fixed internet with wifi.  The router : Hap ac lite.  Very good reception on smartphones and firesticks.  The Play 5 is recognized by the Sonos system, but also lost again in between.  The Five cannot be installed at all, always expecting me to restart the router or to remove the box from the network and/or reset it to the factory settings.  Is the router the problem?

New sub mini keeps disconnecting from my system. I reconnected it every day and by the next day it is disconnected again. 

Hi CommunityWhen I play loud music, my Sonos Amp suddenly decreases the volume. It then tries to turn it up again, but will lower it again. I can the turn volume down - wait a little while - and then i can play loud music again - not for long. When touching the AMP it is not warm at all. There is no change on the volume bars in app or PC controller. I have created an diagnostic: 1541814471Hope to get this solved Best regardsThomas

Hoping this will help some others overcome this funky software.I set up a pair of Roam devices on network A.I then needed to change them to network B.I hard reset both Roam devices and connected them successfully to network B.Less than 30s later, they disconnected from network B and reconnected themselves to network A.Solution:go to System > Network > Manage Networks > click network A > Remove restart your phone (to make sure Sonos app is not running!) reset your device follow the procedure to add a new device and you should be good to go

I have a Samsung S10 and the Sonos App won't let me use my on-phone music library.Whenever I enter the file path, the App reports 'storage cannot be found'.I've tried changing the file path, enabling access to files and have spent hours trying to establish how to allow the Sonos App to access my music collection, so any help will be greatly appreciated?

Sonos OneConnect Sonos One to run without Cell phone.I have done this in the past. I would move my Sonos One from my office to my basement.  After moving Sonos One I would have to mess around with the buttons on the top to get it to play again. , To use it I would simply say “Alexa play Frank Sinatra with spotify”.  It worked great. Now for some reason it will not work at all. I have messed around with the button on the bank and the buttons on top with no luck. What must I do.What is the sequence of the buttons to make it work. After the move?Is there a way to move the Sonos one where I don't have to mess around with buttons?Bob

Hi, Just bringing up the problem with Audible stopping after a few minutes when initiated using Alexa on Sonos. Did this ever get properly resolved? We have the same issue here. I’ve read a few threads but as far as I can see there is still no resolution to this after many months. Apologies if I am missing the obvious but I haven’t found an answer. I’ve raised this with Audible too but they are not being a great deal of help. This is a deal breaker for us. If we can’t get Audible working properly when controlled with Alexa, we’ll have to sell our Sonos products and look for a different platform. This probably suits Amazon because Echo devices may well be our only option, but it doesn’t really work well for Sonos. It would be a shame though. I love our Sonos system. Audible works fine when controlled through the Sonos app, it’s only the voice control that causes problems, but as a household we all read audio books veraciously, so this is a big deal. Thanks.

Hi.I understand that Google Assistant (GA) has been unable to play BBC Radio 4 for about 2 years now...despite the fact that Sonos supports BBC Sounds. I don’t want to use my phone to command listening to the radio, esp if I’m doing something in the kitchen.What’s interesting though, is that if you ask GA for BBC Radio 4 it serves up BBC Radio Jersey. So, something is happening, there’s a matching process going on in google somewhere and it finds a near neighbour. Does anybody know who to put pressure on in Google to nudge this over the line?eg.  

I posted this over two years ago, and still the issue persists, surely I can’t be the only one affected by this? Original post: I always use Alexa to set the volume on my Sonos system (Beam, Sub and 2xOne SL) I usually ask her to confirm the volume once set, but now she is reporting it incorrectly. So if the volume was set to 1 initially and I ask Alexa to set volume to 3 then ask “Alexa, what is the volume for living room?” She will advise that volume is 1, even though it’s set to 3 as she is now louder.Steps I’ve taken to fix:Disable and enable the Sonos skill in the Amazon Alexa App. Removed the Alexa voice service in the Sonos app and added it again too and powered off the Sonos beam. All to no availHowever, what I did notice was Alexa would confirm the correct volume level after enabling the Sonos Skill in the Alexa App or removing and adding the Alexa voice service in the Sonos app, it was only when I asked Alexa to increase the volume and asked her to confirm the volume for Livi

Hello, guys Has anyone experience the same :when using google assisnant to play music, it keep saying ”Sorry, the media content isn’t available for your YouTube music subscription” but I have youtube premium account linked.ok, fine, I tried Apple music then, it again keep saying “ it looks like Apple Music isnt currently supported on bathroom”what I try to fix it is:reset and reinstall the app    X  relink my youtube music account  X re connect my sonos one  X reinstall google assisstant and add google assistant to my sonos one again XI tried all above and it wont work, so I choose to change to Alexathe fun part is when I adding Alexa, it ask me to log in, and the page derect me to is a blank page, Does anyone experience the same issue when adding Alexa?  or any solution for it?I have nearly 10 sonos in my house, and it gives me a really good music experience, but this APP is really driving me crazy. If you have any idea how to fix this, please let me know. I have a lounge of 350 sq ft (32 sq meter).  I have a TV with beam Gen 2 and sub mini.  Very happy with TV/movie sound performance.  I have also bought a Sonos Port and line-in switch to allow me to connect my turntable, CD player and cassette (yes cassette) player to the Beam for music. Obviously these are stereo not spatial audio inputs.The music sound is pretty good through the Beam and sub mini.  It has replaced a 5.1 100 watt per channel home theatre amp with 5 Kef egg speakers and sub.  I want good quality and sufficient volume for parties.  Thinking about options to add 2 Era 100 or 300 or maybe even 2 Fives. If I set them up as stereo speakers for music would they be more powerful than the Beam or could I use them in parallel with Beam?Appreciate these could also act as surrounds to the Beam but that’s not my priority.Can anyone suggest the best option?   

I am not able to complete setup of my Roam on my iPhone. When it says “Make sure light flashes green and white, then press the Play button”, I do press the button (duh) but nothing happens. I used to have it setup on this phone I believe, but now for some reason I cannot set it up again (WiFi change?).Anyway I tried:Reset app Reset Roam …By resetting the Roam, it would appear in auto setup, but I’m stuck at “press the button” step with no help.It’s an incredibly frustrating setup experience, with such a price tag, Sonos should do much better. I’ve spent more than one hour already, wth.My Roam is rendered USELESS. Incredible. For such price tag I may just stick to Apple products, no frustration whatsoever NEVER.Very clown product if you ask me. 

I have an older Beam and I would like to get surround sound out of my TV (Beam connected to TV via HDMI ARC).  Thinking of buying a couple of ERA 100s for rear speakers, but some of the stuff I read seem to indicate I’ll get a 75ms delay out of the ERA 100s.  Is this true?  What does the community recommend for this config?

Having troubles connecting epson projector with roku and sonos amp.

We just got a new wifi setup, with a new network name. I opened the app on my iPhone and followed the “let’s fix this” instructions per https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/connect-sonos-to-a-new-router-or-wi-fi-network?language=en_US .. I picked one device to reconnect (a Sonos One), pressed the button per instructions, allowed my phone to connect to a “SONOS” wi-fi network, per instructions, and… Nothing. My phone says “can’t connect to network SONOS” or something to that effect.My Sonos setup is already messed up because of a PC reconfiguration, and now my speakers are utterly unusable.

I am having a hard time finding what everything in the app does and what each option does.  I see lots of people saying their ir repeaters aren’t working.  How do I know mine are.  Is it just for the volume adjust   Do I need all the options for IR turned on. The ir light repeater   Where do I find a description of everything available in the app and if it needs to be on or what each does.   Even called support and well chatted and they told me go to support online and that’s it.  Guess I was asking too many questions for him. So he just gave me the link for support which is where I started the chat from.  So please any info on the IR would be helpful. Thanks

Access denied to Synolog NAS server – can’t play files in one room other rooms are fine? I am a long time user of Sonos. I have 4 zones that all uses S1. I do have a Roam also (S2) but hardly ever uses it at my home. My zones are:  Office: two Play 5: gen1Livingroom: Soundbar, Sub and two Play:3Room 3: Play:1Room 4: Play:1 I do have a booster as well.  Out of the I can no longer play my music files from my Synology NAS – BUT only in my office…. I can play my files in the livingroom, room 3 and 4 – but NOT in my office. I have tried from my MacBookPro App and from my iPhone app – but it will not play the files. Radio and streaming services are doing fine. I can perfectly see my files/folders in the app – but access for playing is denied in my office. If I combine livingroom with office I can play the files in the office – but I can not start music from files in the office. On my NAS I have 5 different main folders with files and it is all the same. Will not play in office but other zone

I have just bought nice tall and deep bedside tables for the lamps (the lamps sound much better on these rigid wooden cabinets than the previous flimsy metal ones). I am considering permanently fixing them to the tables, so there is no chance to accidentally knock them off. I just wondered it there was an optimal distance to place them from the wall. I appreciate the sound is modified / enhanced by setting them up with truetone, but if I position them correctly in the first place, sound should be even better. Thanks

Hi there, Planning on a large kitchen to patio area, with 4x in ceiling in the kitchen, and 2x outdoor speakers on the patio. All driven from a single amp. I know you can have 3 pairs of architectural speakers, and that I will probably lose truplay tuning, but is this going to work as a configuration? I can’t find the answer anywhere.
