I have 2 play 5 (gen1) speakers and 2 symonfisk speakers and a Beam Gen1.Following a network glitch i have reinstalled all devices.However the beam will only connect using an ethernet cable direct to router, although during setup it is asking for wifi details and when i enter them it appears to finish setup although no messages appear to say its ok.as soon as i disconnect the ethernet cable the beam does not appear in app.Any help gratefully received

I am actually looking for sales advice, or a recommendation. I am trying to determine the best setup for my back patio. In my living room I have an ARC + a sub and a pair of One SL’s for surround.  I also have another room set with a port for my LP & CD’s. I also have a Roam that is a weak fix for my outdoor or garage use now..We recently installed a new patio with covered area for an outdoor living and dining area. Winters can be unpredictable in Boise, so I have not decided if I should install an amp with outdoor speakers or go with a Move - however I am buying a TV cart so I can watch sports outside until the weather gets gnarly, and then wheel it inside.  Which would bring something like a Ray + sub mini as a possibility. I do not need super loud outdoors, just efficient sound that is mostly used for music, but also able to connect to the second TV. I am trying to determine what will best suit my needs and am looking for recommendations for the best direction. I have not been able to get Dolby Atmos to come from any apps on my tv through to my Sonos Arc.  The Arc is hooked up to the tv via eArc.  The TV is a  Samsung QN55S95BAFXZA Class S95B OLED 4K Smart Tizen TV.  My digital output is auto as when I try to select passthrough it says “The current audio format input cannot be passed through with an ARC connection.  The best I can get is Dolby Digital 5.1 or Dolby Multichannel PCM.  Not sure if there are settings in YouTube or other apps on the TV that I am missing.  Thanks for any help on this!

This is the same as a closed topic, but I am having the same issue, and the solution on the original topic, that of enabling SMB1 on the NAS, is not working for me. I can connect to the share using windows (once I login using the username/password I have created specifically for that share), but Sonos is still reporting an error. It no longer reports the same error it did before I enabled SMB1 - but still an error and still making it impossible for me to use my new DS220+ for Sonos:I am running DSM 7.1-42661 Update 4, and Sonos is the older S1 setup. The not horribly informative error from Sonos is this: Sonos was unable to add the music folderPlease check that the path to the folder, and the username and password if needed, are correct.Reason: Access to the shared folder “\\nasnew\music\_MusicFiles” is denied. Anyone got any thoughts? It’s kinda ironic that I had to upgrade from my old DS508 because Windows deprecated SMBv1 so couldn’t access the DS508 on its not upgradable old versio

My Sonos One SL Suddenly stop and didn't turn on but after tapping several times it turned on started playing. My question is why does this happen and what to do next? i expect answer from technical team of Sonos.Thank you

I have 2 Sonos One units. I can set them up and they will connect. The next day neither will show up as connected and I will have to reconnect. No power outages. No changes in router settings.  Any suggestions?

Roam is permanently plugged in so always shows 100% batt. As soon as I unplug it and try to use it in another room it dies within 5 mins . . . Useless piece of kit . . 

Hello. I have a Sonos one in my bedroom. Have used it as an alarm clock, but it is now unstable and comes on 3 out of 7 days. Has anyone experienced this and what can I do to prevent it from happening again

Yeah this skipping issue is so finite that it is reproduced like a charm and throws everything to crap. Context: We have a yoga studio and on the studio side we have 6 Play 3’s and Sub Gen 3 and a Boost, in the lobby we have 2 Symfonisk bookshelf speakers. All teachers in the studio use Spotify. The Boost is hardwired to the router and everything else is wireless. The router is a Netgear Nighthawk running speeds I can never fathom to use and wireless connection throughout the studio is insane. I placed the Boost 6ft away from the router and both 6ft away from the Xfinity Modem. We removed our Sonos Connect, plus a Battery backup unit, all to reduce interference. We have over 16 people connected to our Sonos system, something that Sonos wasn’t prepared for apparently, most use cases never exceed 10 users, but we did. However only 1 person is connected at a time, that is it. In addition to the Teacher playing from their phone as a controller, we have an iPad that has Sonos and is connect

Hi all. Up until recently I was able to listen to a French/Canadian radio station called Funk & Co. I could do this via the Tunein music service.However this is no longer possible. I believe it maybe because the TuneIn service has now completely updated and the station has disappeared from TuneIn.On my mobile I can still stream via OnLineRadioBox.The radio station have told me directly that they are availale to stream from here:  https://cast1.torontocast.com:1440/streamCan anyone tell me if it is possible to get access on my Sonos system to the radio station in any way.Many thanks, Alan ( in the UK)

Just had to purchase a new tv.  We bought a Sony Bravia VU31 model KD-55X77L came home set it up and the remote will not work to adjust volume.  Called Sonos customer support and was told “you can upgrade “ seriously this is an expensive system.  So the new tv has HDMI EARC and the digital audio plug.  I purchased the adapter from Sonos and got a new HDMI ARC cord… nothing. Customer service says the remote will not work because it’s Bluetooth.  Sonos also did an update and now the only way to adjust volume is with the slide bar in the Sonos app.  Anyone else having this issue looking for some help please.

Does anyone have thoughts about which of these combinations to choose? For music/audio, not TV.Price is roughly the same, within £50.

After successful installation of the latest update my SONOS system has become unusable!  When it does actually connect to a music service or even to my local music library, it constantly stops play only to resume a few seconds or even minutes later.  What is going on everything was working fine before this latest update!!!

I have 2 Sonos Roams with charging docs. I used them a lot over the last 2 years but they have been in the cupboard for about 6 months as I went for a smaller setup and didn’t use them that much anymore.I since got them out and now can’t get them to charge or turn on. The red LED does not come on when I plug them in. They are both completely dead. What are my options here?

The HDMI ARC port on my Panasonic TV seems to have died so, after a conversation with Sonos tech help, I have to connect my Beam to the TV via the optical port using the supplied adaptor.My problem is that whenever I turn on the TV it doesn't seem to remember to use the Beam (plus two Ones and a mini sub) but tries to use the TV's speakers. I have to resort to unplugging and reconnecting the optical adaptor to get it to connect and work.Is there a way of setting up the TV and/or Beam in order to ensure that the system works when switching on the TV?

I understand Apple Music sends AAC 256kbps to my Era 300’s when using AirPlay2 (despite Airplay2 supporting lossless). My question is, does Amazon send Ultra HD to my Era 300’s when using AirPlay2?  If yes, as established elsewhere on the forums, presumably my Era 300’s would downsample and playback at 16 bit 44.1? I prefer Amazon’s app interface and search, so trying to work out if there are any audio penalties to using Amazon’s app plus AirPlay2 vs Sonos S2 app. 

So I recently added two Era 300s to my ARC for surrounds, which sound great.  When I turn my TV off after about 5 minutes it reverts the room to Music.  If I try to change it back to TV it tells me that there was a problem and it couldn’t detect a signal from HDMI to the Arc.  Once I turn back on the TV it either starts to work again or I have to use the app to repair.Setup:Sony 90J TVArc via E-Arc portSonos Ge3 sub2 Era 300 set to Surround External Devices:Xbox Series XPS5SwitchSteam Deck via a Dock Any help would be appreciated.

I have a home Sonos system with 4 components..3 speakers and a bridge.2 of the speakers ( not Roam nor Move) turned on by themselves today with no app open on PC or mobile. I then couldn't switch them off by opening app and clicking stop...I had to manually stop them. I have it all on video!! ??????? Huh????

My wife decided to return our Sonos system. Too much money to spend on the whole system. Problem is I’ve unplugged and boxed up the components to return them. I did not think to remove them from my system in the app. Do I have to plug them back in and remove them or can I have them removed by Sonos? Or just let the next person who buys them set them up and they will drop from my account?

Hi there,When I try to add a new music service to my system, I get an error that states:”You have reached the maximum number of music service accounts that can be added to your Sonos system. Please remove an existing account before adding a new one.”Does anyone know what this limit is? Has it changed at some point? I couldn’t find any info in the forum or support site that specifically called out the limit or error message.Interestingly, I have deleted a couple of services but I still get this error, so at some point in time I was able to have more music service accounts than I have now (30 accounts over 26 music services, plus one voice service (Sonos)).Thanks. 

(Moved from Ask a Question)We just bought a house and I'm already planning on how to set-up everything (we won't be moving in until end of Sept).The living room is non-symmetrical and also has a sloping/varying ceiling height, with roughly 4m ceiling height at the area where the surround speakers would be positioned. Our setup in current apartment is: ARC, Sub + 2 Sonos One's as rears.My question is, is there a benefit to upgrade to Era 300's? My understanding is that Era 300's wouldn't perhaps work due to the layout (ceiling particularly) and a lack of wall to the right surround speaker.Please educate me on what would be the best option :DAttached a picture of the living room (previous owners furniture etc.) and floor plan with intended speaker position. TV would be placed in the same spot as in the picture, with sofa little bit closer to the TV. Current thinking is to either have the rear speakers wall mounted to the back wall, or with stands closer to the sofa.

Got Connect 1 hard wired to router and Denon receiver. Worked great for years when I was getting 2mb download speed. Changed to fttp a year ago and now getting 400mb to the router. Last couple of weeks music will start and cut out. Then get sound sporadically. Checked all cables and rebooted everything a few times. Still the same. Hopefully someone has a fix. Thanks folks.
