Hello everyone long time Sonos customer here with Play 1, 3, 5 in various rooms.  Our house came with pre-wired ceiling and outdoor speakers that terminate in a big bundle of wires in the hallway coat closet. There’s a power outlet in the closet (convenient!) so I use Connect:Amp connected to a Pyle selector switch. This allows me to easily select what ceiling speakers in the house (backyard, family room, laundry room, courtyard etc) to play music in. We stream Pandora/Prime/Apple Music using the Sonos app through the Connect:Amp and the Plays. The Play 1-3-5s are sitting in rooms without ceiling speakers (garage, bathroom, office) so it all works well and have music pretty much anywhere we are. I want to purchase a turntable to play our vinyl (yes we still have albums from the 70s/80s).  My question is connectivity.   I want the turntable in the living room on proud display adjacent to our albums, just like back in the day.   But the ceiling speaker wires terminate in the coat closet,

Hi All,I’ve had Sonos products for over 10 years and always loved them. Over the last year I’ve been more and more infuriated buy the app just randomly picking what products it shows me. I’ve tried everything I can think of and it’s been over a year now. I want to add more speakers but it seems pointless spending more money if they won’t work. To help anyone generous enough to support I’ve broken down the set up I have and what I’ve tried so far: Set Up Sky Broadband  Eero Mesh WiFi Sonos Play 1 * 5 Sonos Playbar Sonos Move  Sonos Era 100 New and up to date App What I’ve tried Resetting products that have disappeared (several times) Unplugging WIFI and router  Following the “You seem to be missing some products wizard on the app” Creating a new set up Buying a new Move  Buying the Era 100 Moving the Eero network to Bridge I might be wrong, but it feels like there are two set ups and it flicks between them.  Any help or advice would be great. Thanks in advance  

Why does the sound keep going off when Beam connected to TV

My sonos system suddently gets “access denied” to my synology NAS but only for my Play 5 gen 1 and connet AMP gen 1. New sonos AMP and play 1 works fine? Hope someone are able to help me???

hello everyone,I am looking for help to setup my turn table.Currently, my Sonos setup is mainly for Home Theatre. It is a 5.1 setup comprised with Arc, Sub, Amp driving the 2 passive rear ceiling speakers.I have an old Pro-Ject turn table with a Pro-Ject pre-amp that I would like to incorporate in the Sonos ecosystem.Since my Amp is already setup to the 2 passive rears, I cannot use it for the turn table. So I think I need to look for a Sonos speaker that has line-in capability to drive the turn table with its build-in amp and allows me to include the turn table to my Sonos setup. Am I thinking this right?Prefer result would be a Sonos product compatible to the S2 app and allows the turn table to play across all my Sonos products.Thank you for any advice.Eric 

I play my daughter a baby sleep spotify playlist through the Sonos at night. And if I try to listen to a podcast on my phone the sonos will stop playing. I have a spotify family plan. Does anyone have a solution for this? Do I need to reach out to Spotify instead? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi all, I had a beam gen 1 that i was trying to use on the TV that came with my apartment. I had it with surrounds and i was trying to get it to play 5.1 audio to no avail. When i looked online it said to check on the tvs settings what audio format it would come out as but there is no option for this. For reference it’s a techwood tv i searched the model number online and there was no info about it at all. The beam was connected via hdmi arc. I sold the beam gen 1 as in the end i had to use a different tv with it to work in surround sound but now i need that other tv back and i was wanting to try and get a gen 2 beam or arc. I was wondering is there any point in me buying a gen 2 if i can’t get surround sound to work on the tv or if anyone know how to get it to work. Edit: I have an apple tv connected to the tv as well and i was wondering if there was a way that i can connect it just to that with an adapter of some sort? i just want to be able to get surround sound via the techwood tv.

It seems a recent update has impacted the touch control functionality. It used to be that disabling touch controls would only impact the functionality that reacts to touch. Recently, however, when touch controls are disabled, you can no longer switch between Bluetooth and WIFI functionality. Is anyone else having this issue? 

I can logon to the SONOS website but the SONOS App gives me and invalid email or password.I reset my password several time but it does not work on the App only on the website.

3 hours with Sonos tech support Daily reboot of router, daily unplug and power up all six Sonos speakers  Daily reinstall of Sonos app  Total hours per week dealing with Sonos  connectivity issues - 12 I’m about to sell off the whole system on Craigslist and go back to wired speakers. Too much of my time being spent with Sonos connectivity issues. System - 5 Sonos One speakers and one Sonos Roam. In an apartment building in NYC with 300 other apartments. Spectrum wifi. I’ve configured and reconfigured the modem. I’ve rebooted, restarted, factory resetted, deleted, reinstalled and all to no avail. The only way to make it work - 1. Unplug all speakers, uninstall and reinstall app, reboot router and then do it again later in the day when the system falls apart again. Anyone want to buy six Sonos speakers?  

Hello Everyone, Even though i would have loved it I cannot install an Arc or Beam on my wall at the moment.So i am looking to get a Sonos Amp connected to my Samsung One Box. would it work so i get TV sound from the Sonos Speaker Latency ? If I get an 800€ “adapter” :) I’d like to get something that works right Thanks for your input

Tidal Connect integrated with my Sonos Move generation 1 with only acceptable glitches for a long time. The last couple of weeks, however, when I select playback in Tidal Connect to the Move, the music plays out of the iOS devices speakers... no music from the Move. Yet integration with my Sonos Connect still works as it always has. But when both the Connect and the Move are zoned together, the problem again occurs: music only outputs through the iOS device.I am trying to figure out if the problem is on the Sonos end or Tidal end. Peculiar that the Connect is fine while the Move is not. The Connect is hardwired to the network while, obviously, the Move is on Wi-Fi.I pray someone has any advice.

Hi. I have my livingroom set up as a  Sonos TV Surround system (inc Beam Gen 2, Sub Mini, and 2 Era 100s). But I also have several Amazon Echo devices dotted around my home, and use Alexa as my main “smart speaker” voice controller.I have created a Group, and I can add my “Livingroom” to the group, but no matter what I do I cannot actually get it to play anything on the Sonos system when I say (for example) “Alexa, play Xxx on the Everywhere Group.

When I have my Era 100 connected to my TV and I shut it off for the night, the Era 100 continues to make the chirping noise like it is trying to connect via bluetooth. It effectively does this until I unplug it. What am I missing here? 

How do I change back to TV from music with the Sonos app?

The Sonos Android app on my phone and Windows desktop app can only see about 20% of my entire YouTube Music library and I’m not sure why. This hasn’t always been an issue, and I would really appreciate some help with this.Context:When I first bought into the Sonos network, I purchased a pair of One SLs and began playing music through my personal library on my phone. I primarily listen to music with downloaded files through the default Samsung media app, and at the time the Sonos Android app could see these files as well. Everything worked great for a few years and I got a Play:5 (Gen 2) speaker during that time to add to my system as well.Earlier this year, there was a notice from Sonos saying that the app could no longer read downloaded files on Android phones, but provided solutions to work around this. Hi, two questions.Do I have to buy the amplifier to run outdoor speakers, or will they connect to my Sonos app via WIFI like my other speakers? Can I control their volume separately to my other SONOS speakers? Ie I might want outside speakers to be louder or quieter than the inside speakers based on ambient noise and time of day….

HelloI’m a bit puzzled by an issue which started just few days ago (can’t pinpoint exactly when).I’ve been using Sonos Voice Control since it’s been released on a Sonos Roam and Sonos One to stream from my Apple Music, and it’s been working perfectly fine.Then suddenly, when requesting a specific song, I started to see error in the app “Unable to play song xxx, file not encoded correctly”, and nothing plays.The song is recognised and added properly to the queue, but can’t play. Pressing play button in the app at that stage gives the same error.If I then try to search the same song through the app and play it, it works perfectly fine. So it’s really just when finding the song through voice assistant that it doesn’t work.If there’s nothing in the queue to start with and I just say “Hey Sonos, play music” (so nothing specific), it starts playing from my “station” and it works well… I tried to remove Sonos Voice Assistant and re-add it, I tried to remove Apple Music and re-add it, I tried

Is there any documentation?  I’m pushing the 65K track limit (65705).  All my tracks are in one foloder on a nas organised by artist and album name. I am using MediaMonkey 5.  Does the library indexing start at A and index the files up to Z?  I can see artists from the start and end of my collection. Also I ran the update on my PC and it came up with a message suggesting I remove some playlists.  Are the files in playlists included in the 65K limit?  I am tempted to move all my christmas tunes into a separate folder and just add that at christmas.  Also I have a punk album with 100 tracks.  That is probably wasting 8 normal albums worth of space.

I’m a little frustrated by the Sonos experience. Perhaps I am a relic of the past, but I’m not a streaming music customer, per se. Yes, I occasionally stream music from a service, but I most often listen to music from my own vast library via PlexAmp.I will launch PlexAmp, connect to a Sonos speaker/group and initiate play from PlexAmp. I might start adding songs to the queue, rate a song, etc. What is frustrating is that, at some point soon after initiating play, (maybe when my phone goes to sleep?) it is clear that PlexAmp is no longer playing and any changes to the queue, etc. are not reflected in what is continuing to play from Sonos. I have to launch the Sonos app to further control my music, but with the limited functionality that the Sonos/Plex relationship offers.Is there any way to prevent this happening? I’d like to use PlexAmp to maintain control of my music playback/queue/rating of music. If this cannot be maintained, could there be more functionality added to the Sonos app

I understand that the Era 300 is not compatible with SonosNet but what is not clear to me is if I have them set as surrounds with an ethernet connected Sonos Arc do they use SonosNet to connect to the Arc or some other wireless connection with the Arc? If it’s SonosNet does that mean I can’t have the Arc connected to Ethernet if I’m using the Era 300 as surrounds?

Given the frequent complaints from Sonos community about Sonos Move Battery life, question is : “Will Sonos move 2 battery be compatible with original Sonos move?”
