Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

The volume sliders in new app require a very precise touch on the small ‘dot’ before you are able to ‘slide’ the volume. Yes, you can tap volume up/down.Could an additional alternative approach be taken, like Apple Music, where you can slide the volume by touching anywhere on the volume slider, and sliding left/right, ie using a less precise approach? 

Howdy,I would like to do the opposite of what I see many people want out of VLANs and Sonos. I would like to have multiple Sonos speakers totally separated by VLANS.My setup:- Two phones, two totally seperate Sonos accounts- All of the Sonos speakers are wireless- UniFi Express running:    - Three VLANS (default, 2, and 3)    - Two wifi networks mapped to their own VLAN (just 2 and just 3 respectively)- I want there to be a totally separate Sonos experience depending on which wifi network you are onWhat I have tried so far:- The setup above with “default settings”; this meant that multicast roaming was enabled so the systems everything showed up everywhere (unwanted)- The setup above with mDNS and Snooping turned off; this “works” in terms of the Sonos systems are indeed separate, but my Sonos speakers constantly fall off the network and cannot be found without a factory reset on the daily (unwanted)Do folks have any suggestions for which settings to inspect / investigate?

With firmware 16.3.1, released yesterday (I believe), the library search that was recently introduced seems broken?(On the other hand, it did seem to restore the ability to play from library playlists. But do we have to go one step forward and one step back all the time? 😉) 

I have a Sonos speaker set up in my house, prior to the app update i had no issues at all. Now i struggle to play music I’ve selected on a speaker i want to use. WiFi has been checked and no issues with it. The speakers are coming up and are available to start streaming music but once selected after a few seconds it says unable to connect. 8/10 this happens. On the off chance it does connect, it then disconnects itself and will reconnect itself after a few minutes and play a different song. Grouping the speakers is also not available.Is there anything you can do for this? It’s very frustrating as I’ve spent so much on a sound system and for it to not work! 

My Sonos move 2 speaker will not turn on. The other speaker in pair is on, but cannot connect because they are paired. help

has anyone setup a Beam Gen 2 with the Sonos Amp and 2 sets of in-ceiling architectural speakers?

When streaming from the same service (doesn’t matter which) individual speakers will occasionally go very quiet (but not completely) on a system that has been working for almost a year without problems. There is no external interference from any source. 

Hi community,After updating to the new SONOS app, the IDAGIO streaming service doesn’t continue by itself between movements in symphonic music. If the symphony have, let’s say 4 movements, you need to go to switch between them manually. Does anyone know what to do?

Since the launch of the new app, my husband and I cannot both use our app in our home at the same time. Whoever launches it is the only one that can adjust sound or selection and that’s super frustrating. Also, it continually defaults to a speaker we rarely use, and no matter how many times we select the correct speakers it keeps moving to other speakers. Again super frustrating. 

I just updated the Sonos app, and now Apple Music is not playing lossless anymore, at least there is no “lossless” logo showing. Before the update, I never had a problem with lossless playing.Did the new update remove lossless playback with Apple Music ? 

I have two Amps controlling 4 speakers, two each.  One set/Amp is ‘outside’, one set/Amp is ‘inside’.  I configured two wireless Pico Audio Devices (with the Lutron hub) and all worked great!  All of a sudden (after Sonos update?) now both Pico’s control both sets/Sonos.  I opened a case with Lutron. They told me to un-pair and re-pair both.  I did that, and the Same thing persists. Any suggestions? JGS

Hi all,Over the last couple of days my system is having issues and I would like to have some feedback on how to fix this. I noticed that two of my play1s didn't play sound when I am watching tv. I have them connected with the playbar. When I tried just listening to music, only 1 play1 and the playbar played music. Then I noticed the following:Within the Sonos app for some reason one of my play 1 (I own 3) vanished from the app. I went through the usual steps of unplugging the power, eventually factory resetting, but now in the app I cannot even add it to my system. There is a repeat that it cannot find my play1 and I need to plug it in. I can assure you it is connected to the electricity and even connected via ether cable to the router. The light is flashing green meaning it is ready to set up. No matter what I do, the app keeps saying that it is disconnected and I need to make sure it is turned on. My play 1 is next to the router, connected via ether cable and plugged in to the electr

In the app there are no sliders for volume control. I can play music on my two play:1 speakers but can only control volume with the volume buttons on the actual speaker. The volume sliders in the app work for my beam, just don’t understand why they don’t work for play:1

I loose sound on my soundbar for few seconds when it comes from my tv via optical wire. I tried with an other soundbar and I don’t have this problem

I order my music library into four folders corresponding to broad categories, each of which contains many sub-folders. Each of the four is a “Sonos favourite”. This convenient way of navigating the library continues to work in the desktop app, but in the new IPad app, under each of these favourites is the message: “No longer available. Press Edit Home to delete”.Will this way of organising a music library once again become possible, and if so, roughly when?

For the last couple weeks, my music library queue keeps getting cleared. I can go to music library songs and say play all and it will fill the queue. I usually have a sleep time set at night. Then at some point, I will go in the app to resume and the queue will be empty. And not because everything was played. The first time I noticed this, I went into settings and saw my network address was gone I went to the app on my pc  and it couldn’t connect to the address.  If keep trying with the same address, it eventually works. Nothing has changed in my router. another weird thing, I can’t access my iTunes imported play lists anymore if I try to play one, it says music not accessible, then if I try to go to artists or songs, those are no longer readable either. After maybe ½ hour I can access them again. But not the playlists. They can play fine directly from iTunes on my pc.

I have 5 speakers, 2 Sonos One in different locations, and 1 Beam and 2 One SL as surrounds.I put all of them in a static IP, ranging from 192.168.2.90 to 192.168.2.94, with the Beam being .92 surrounds being .93 and .94.What I’ve noticed is that the SLs don’t appear in my router, but the Beam is jumping from .92 to .94 back and forth. I did some reading and it appears that this is treated as a cluster, or mini network on its own. I didn’t know that, nor it is apparent.How can I resolve that and set static IP addresses to all my speakers, maintaining the surroung trio?Also, I don’t know, but this might be causing the never ending “something went wrong” and need to restart my router...

Next up on the list of things badly broken by the new app  - device selection. I have 5 Sonos devices and the system now wants to always select the first one alphabetically. In this case, the one named Bedroom. When I powered that off it picked Kitchen. But I want to play on Living Room, so I select that, but the app wants to play on Kitchen+1. So I uncheck Kitchen a second time and then it plays on Living Room. But it continues to show that only Kitchen is the device selected. However it shows that music is playing (the bouncing equalizer) on Living Room even though that is not selected!  So I uncheck Kitchen a third time and select Living Room again, which is still playing music, and that made it stop playing altogether. And Kitchen is the selected device!Anyone else seeing this weirdness?How in the world could Sonos have released this piece of garbage. Each day I use the new app brings out another glaring defect. Sonos needs to fix this piece of junk. In the meantime they should rol

Just switched new era 100 on and tapped app. Chose speaker or component which goes straight to a license agreement. When I tap accept nothing happens and it won’t move on. Would love to know what I’m doing wrong. Cheers 

Sonos roam does not share music it's playing to other sonos speakers that are on same wifi. The app allows sharing to other speakers but it does not work. 

Hello. As usual, the integration with the audio app I want to use is buggy and not a good experience. In this case, it’s Audible. I have been listening to a new book for weeks now. Connected Audible and it doesn’t show up. Don’t see any way to search for my book. I deleted and reinstalled both Sonos and Audible app as well as restarted my router. So it’s all pretty frustrating as I can’t listen to the book across all my speakers. I used to be able to connect via Bluetooth using a Bluetooth speaker and then just link the other speakers using the app but this seems to no longer work with the new app release. Please help. I just want to use this system and I’m constantly not able to.

I lost access to my music library (on my Mac Mini) after 7pm tonight - it appeared to coincide with an update on our MacBook (that I couldn’t avoid).I have now lost access to my Music Library on both my S1 and S2 products - anyone know why that might be?These are the messages I get:S1‘// Jamess-Mac-Mini/Music’ is no longer available. So first off Sonos really needs to be better at their advertising. Whoever is in charge is either very unexperienced or just trying to trick people into buying a new product. This “Pair” clearly says you can Share the home theater experience with someone. How in the world can you share 1 pair of headphones? Their “chat” persons are just as bad. I was assured my existing setup would work with the ACE headphones. I get them and they do not work. I am told the were never meant to work with the Beam. So we had to buy an ARC. Ok, time for an upgrade, $1600 for a set of head phones to work with your home entertainment system seems a bit steep, but I really wanted to keep the Sonos ecosystem going. I told the rep I wanted to use both headsets, I told them we had a hearing impaired family ,ember that would need to listen via headphones while the rest could listen normally. So I seen the $$ and the new ARC arrives. Guess what? Yeah, I was lied to AGAIN. Apparently the ARC cannot do 2 headsets a
