Our Sonos system and app frequently fails to work in our house. We have excellent WiFi so that is not the issue. It is very frustrating.

Excellent WiFi is only as useful as the speaker’s ability to connect to it. There are a lot of things that can impact that, starting with wifi interference . There is a lot of information in that FAQ which may help. There’s also the potential for duplicate IP address issues getting in the way of network devices, either wired or WiFi, connecting consistently. The ‘easy/quick’ fix is to unplug all Sonos devices from power, then reboot the router. Give the router a couple of minutes to come back up before plugging in the Sonos.

However, it’s hard, without more details, to suggest more to you. You may want to submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
