Well thanks Sonos. I can now, after several months, play my music library stored on my Mac but to be fair, the instructions how to do so failed miserably and I had to make it up as I went along.  The hand that giveth also taketh away: the price for this restoration of the original service is that now BBC Sounds will not play.

Useless bit of kit in my view.  I would sell my speakers but who would buy them?

What did  Sonos Support say, when you called them to discuss it?

BBC Sounds working fine here, only problem I’ve had with it was when I inadvertently had a double NAT setup on my local wifi, which caused multiple issues with Sonos streaming services not playing.

O.K.  I'm an old fella and the usual solution is unplug it from the mains and restart.  Applying the same logic, I uninstalled BBC Sounds and reinstalled it.  Now working.

Should it be this difficult?  Even a message to say you need to reinstall your services would have sufficed, although not ideal.

Have you ever gone into a restaurant and ordered meatballs only to be told that the mincemeat and sauce is in the back, you just need to cook it?   Why does Sonos think this is a good level of service?

Not conducive to buying more stuff or recommending it to others TBH.

Don’t know…the answer might have been one of many different things, only one of which might be resolved by your reset. Seems like it might be disingenuous of them to suggest one solution, which may not work for all cases.
