I have a Sonos Port to which I have connected a pair of analog speakers via an amplifier. I would like to add an additional pair of analog speakers, along with an analog sub, to this system (also via a separate amplifier) to play in an entirely different part of my house. Is this possible? If so, what would the setup look like? My existing Sonos Port has only a single analog output.
Hello, I have the S1 controller to operate my older Sonos setup (playbar, 2 x play 1 as surrounds) with a Bridge and Connect (for my vinyl record player). I want to add the new Gen 3 Subwoofer however when I try and upgrade to the S2 app, it says that the sub will not work with the connect/bridge I have. Is there a workaround or is this not going to affect my system at all. I have an ecobee and use Alexa to play throughout the house and want to make sure I’m not wasting 1000.00 on a sub that won’t work well Thanks and happy listening!!
Please add the capability for the Sonos apps to sort one’s Music Library leveraging the Sort metadata fields on a given release. For example, in Apple Music/iTunes, one can choose how their Library is sorted based on alternative text in the sort as fields, as below:Note: by changing the album field’s “sort as” text from the album title to the convention: Artist - Year-Month-Day - Title, I am able to then organize and search through my entire Library of albums by a given artist, and then the albums ordered chronologically, thereafter.Another use case is an album series, named as “Volume #” and there are 16 albums in the series. The Sonos app does not sort on numbers, smartly - meaning, it doesn’t recognize that 2, 3, 4 come before 10, 11, 12, because it’s only looking at the first integer. Instead it orders as follows:Volume 1 Volume 10 Volume 11 Volume 12 Volume 13 Volume 14 Volume 15 Volume 16 Volume 2 Volume 3 Volume 4 Volume 5 Volume 6 Volume 7 Volume 8 Volume 9My only workaround
We recently added a Samsung Frame TV. It sits on a large to the ceiling cabinet in a central part of the room. The TV was selected partly because it sits so flat against the dark cabinet and is hardly noticed when not in use.Mounting the arc below the TV would be awkward. It could be bumped into at hip height. It just would not look good. Would require possible any extra hole drilled in the expensive cabinetry. So maybe we can not have one.But on idea came up. Could an Arc be positioned near the ceiling, as in right at the ceiling? If so should it be angled down?Should it be mounted upside down? There is a second reason to use an arc beyond sound. We have 2 Sonos 1’s for the rear. Right now I have to use an Apple TV connected to the frame TV to talk to the Sonos 1’s. So we are using an Apple TV connected to a brand new smart TV which seems like an absurd extra layer of complexity. The Arc would remove that problem. If there is another way to connect the frame TV to the Sonos 1’s or any o
Hello, I am trying to establish a limited setup on a deck which is located outside of a living room. The deck has a new smart TV (TCL) which is entirely wireless. The deck has 4 in-ceiling wired speakers and two under-deck speakers facing the pool. All of the speaker wires go to an AV cabinet in the adjacent living room. What I want is to be able to watch TV and project the sound through all of the wired speakers and/or to have the TV silent or off and have music playing. How would I accomplish this with my current setup? If I hook a beam up to the TV and put an amp inside connected to the speakers, would that accomplish my goal? Would I need another amp to establish two zones (in-ceiling vs. under-deck) If I’m totally off, please educate me!
I have a surround setup on my TV (Arc, 2 x Ones and Base). I recently bought a Sonos Move. When playing music on YouTube via my TV i would like to ability to add my Sonos Move as its positioned another part of my open plan kitchen and living area.I know i can select each Sonos device and group when playing via my mobile but how can I do that when playing through my TV? BTW: I am aware Move cannot be connected to surround setup.
Hi all,I have a question. We are constructing a new house which has a medium/large kitchen area. I want a stereo setup in this kitchen. The speakers will have to be placed close to the ceiling (cannot do in-ceiling), the ceiling is quite high at 3,30m.I’m considering a pair of ERA 100’s (mounted at around 3,20m height) combined with a Sub Gen3. However, I cannot find any info online about this setup. Is this not a suitable setup? Or will it work? Or what other setup would you advise? Thanks in advance. Job
I was using my sonos roam by bluetooth to play an audio from youtube video and all of the sudden it’s broken. It let out a loud sound and i can’t even turn off the device. I tried pressing and holding the power button for sometime and it’s still not getting off. The device shows a blue light but it is not blinking like when it was when we want to connect through bluetooth. This happened around 1 hour of using it. I had this speaker for around 3-4 weeks already. How to fix it? Moderator edit: combined posts
I am needing to find Bluetooth speakers that can be placed in 6 individual rooms, but all connect to a main speaker. Any recommendations from Sonos?
Sonos has taken a major step back, by users not being able to control volume on app using iPhones.YES! I regret buying into their eco-systemsSonos also failed to notify customers of "THIS MAJOR CHANGE" Shame on you!!You should advise future buyer of this "MAJOR CHANGE! Post it on your home page? Of course not, the suckers will find out later.I expected better from a company with great speakers & sound! Why would you stoop so low and NOT provide customers who spend so much money on you speakers a better experience using your app? We all know their not cheap.Dont blame Apple, because it is SONOS we spent many on.OH we were able to use it before, duhhIt seems Sonos cant or won't upgrade their setup. JP
Hi, I recently bought my first Sonos speaker (Sonos 5) and I’ve plugged it into my Echo Dot (via a double-ended 3.5 cable) so I can hear Alexa and use her to play Spotify Premium. It seems to work well. I'm now thinking of adding a sub and a couple of Sonos 1's, but before I do wanted to check whether these additional speakers will also 'connect' to Alexa and play nice. Obviously, only the 5 will be wired to the Echo, but will it send the audio it receives from the Echo to the additional speakers? If the answer is no, then perhps one of the Sonos 1's I get should be the model with Alexa built-in, in order to get Alexa to play Spotify to the group? In fact, I suspect this setup would likely be better than wiring to an Echo?Justin checking before I add more speakers and find out it won’t work with Spotify/Alexa to void disappointment. Many thanks!
Why is the 25% sales price recently offered in an email reverting to the 15% upgrade discount in the cart?
Hi All. It’s a relief that Sonos has identified the bug that’s causing the bass distortion in Sonos Arc. Thank you @Ryan S for working with the Sonos Communty to identify the problem quickly. Having said this, I believe that Sonos still needs more work to make the Arc sound as it was advertised. Currently, multiple people on Reddit including myself are reporting the highs being too high which sort of feels “harsh”. This improve the speech clarity and brings out details in the movies, but the warmth in speech is lost because the voices sound thin and metallic (for eg. actors I know having heavy voices don’t sound heavy). I was expecting the mid-range to be a lot better considering the Arc has 8 woofers. I have tried TruPlaying twice without success (Turning TruPlay off produces muffled sound). Adjusting the treble also did not help much. Loudness turned on and off does not make a big difference either. May be, this is how the Arc is tuned?! Anyone else feels that Arc is over-empha
Bought new amp to connect tv to the good speakers that are already in place. The amp plays Apple Music etc through the speakers but the TV will not play the sound through the speakers. I have tried both HDMI ARC and tried optical output the the adapter.
Hi, sorry about my english.I have Sonos Beam gen2, Sub Mini and 2 rear Sonos One Sl.My room is not too big, and I am in love with my set up.I am thinking about upgrade something. Do not now where i will find more improvement, going for an Arc or replacing the 2 rear One sl with 2 Era 300.I read about people can not hear dialogs as well as it must be with the ARC.Do Sonos use to made offers better on Christmas than Black Friday for Era 300 (15% off with renove plan now) or ARC (now 799 Euros?)
Hi all, i have a ZP90 with an external DAC and i want to check whether the ZP90 can output 24bit audio via the digital output or do i need to upgrade to a Port? my whole system is S1 so would prefer not to have to create two systems but would love to try UHD audio.
I have a sonos arc. I also have a KEF KC62 sub (wired) and would like to pair them. Any help how can I bridge the two together? I know there is a device to make the KEF KC62 wireless, then i can bridge the two so i can control from the sonos app. please list the item(s) i would need and how ? thanks
Hi all!I am picking up my Sonos One SL pair today. I am looking for stands to put behind the sofa. The one from Sonos, Flexson and Sanus. I baby my speakers very much and don’t let kids near them but I am afraid neither of these are secure enough. The fact they just sit on top of the stand pole is unbelivable. What do u use and how are your experiences? However, I came accross the Soundbass stands which offer a unique locking mechanism so the speaker is secure. Has anyone one o these and how do they compare?Neven
How do we convince Sonos to allow for two sub minis to be paired together on a home theater system. The sub mini fits better in all cases in my space. The sub mini has an amazing design and looks great. Really want to add another!
In my living room i have an Sonos Amp with 2 passive speakers. In the kitchen and outdoor i have sonos ones. I consider to by a victrola stream turntable. Is it possible to wireless connect this turntable to the Amp, so that i can play vinyl through the passive speakers? The Amp is in a closed tv cabinet, and putting the turntable nearby is not an option.
There is a significant difference in volume when switching from TV to music on my soundbar, ones, sub 5.1 system. Comfortable listening on the TV becomes way to loud when switching over to music. Have to remember to turn down the volume when switching over. Is there any way to adjust this so the volume is the same for both.
