Just a (maybe dumb) question regarding ATMOS, 5 and 7.1. So if I’m watching a source that isn’t available or playing in Atmos, like (Dolby pure HD, or DTS), will the ARC and 300’s still play the upward firing drivers?

The Arc will not upmix the 5.1 or 7.1 audio to Atmos. But I believe the upward-firing drivers on the Era 300s are still used to play the surround audio. The upward-firing drivers on the Arc will remain unused with non-Atmos content.
